Block Planning High level process flow and configuration - PPDS

Dear Experts,
I am trying to understand more about Block planning
from my understanding
Block Planning is a  pre-assignment of resource and capacities for a limited duration of time which mean  dedicated resource for a particular operation
correct me if i am wrong
which mean I am able to hold a Resource A for a particular date like say march 20 and march 21 for a particular production version of operation like say 10
if my understanding is correct what are the basic configuration setting and the process flow
I am sure you need to explain loads , i am sorry about that
Thanks in advance
Regards
Raj

Hello,
Finally we found a partial solution to work with Adjust & Reschedule Block limits.
The overloaded blocks are extended inside to the cycle limits. Unfortunately the blocks with free capacity are not shortened.
Does anybody have an idea why the heuristic is working for the extend but not for the shortened?
Thanks, Marius

  • Process flow with configuration for online payment of vendors

    Dear friends,
I need the process flow with configuration for online payment to vendors through rtgs or neft.
Please help me in this regard. One of my client wants to implement online payment process instead of cheque payment.
    thanks and regards
    satya

    1) Payments are initiated at the corporate SAP System using APP and converted into IDOC
Could you please tell me the steps in converting the app into idoc.
There are standard Idoc used for the same , for APP it would be PAYEXT, You need to use this Idoc type.
You define the EDI payment method and assign the program in FBZP (RFFOEDI1)which would created payment medium.
i believe in the app we will create the proposal and run the payment run, after payment proposal created what are the config steps involved in createing the payment run. for example for checque payment we will maintian variant for cheque printing.
The payment run config is done in FBZP, which would include definf check PM and assigning house bank sub gl etc.
    2) PI at Client End receives the input through IDOC for the payments
Pl means? and how the client will recieve this idoc what is the set up has to be made?
PI(Process Integration) middleware which will send bank files from sap to bank and vice versa.
    3) Bank PI receives the payment and converts the same RTGS/NEFT format
    4) Payment Data is received at the Bank RTGS/ NEFT server for further processing
how the payment data will be recieved by bank what is the process?
This is again via PI or any thoird party tool which will send bank files to sap as Idoc, The idoc message type is FINSTA.
or this in SAP you will have to configure the following:
    *House bank with partner profile
*Outbound parameters                      what is meant by outbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
*Inbound parameters                          what is meant by inbound paramenters and how to create and where to maintian
The outbound and Inbounmd idoc's are the one which we send(PAYEXT) and rec from bank(FINSTA).  you create partner profile in WE20 and create partner profile once you create you assign outbound and inbound message types in there.
*EDI Compatible payment methods        how to know about the compaitable payment methods
Please goto house bank FI12 and you will see this in there, assign the PM used.
*APP config                                        i know the app config for cheque payment, for this scenairo any additional settings?
It would be pretty much same, you will have to define the PM used and Payment medium and remaining configuration in FBZP.
    *Bank details in Vendor :
You will have to maintain the bank details of the vendor in vendor master.

  • Can you explain about Higher-level item category and item usage?

    Hi all
Can you explain about Higher-level item category and item usage?
    thanks all

Higher level item category and Item usage are used in the item category determination.
Let me take an example of Item Category TANN (Free of charge Item)
Item category Determination: Sales Document type + Item Category Group + Usage + Higher Level Item Category
    TA + NORM + FREE + TAN = TANN
Higher Level Item category: The category on which this item category is dependent. meaning for TAN , TANN is a free item. Therefor TAN is the higher level item category.
Item Category Usage: It controls system response during document processing. The line item has an specific usage according to that usage it has to respond. Free for free items, text for text items etc.

  • Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter

    Hi,
I am new to OWB and in learing stage. Need to information.
*1. as to how pass/create/use variables to OWB mapping ?*
*2. Creating variables in Process Flows and using thse variables in the filter operator of the OWB mapping?*
*3. Other mechanisms of how to create/use variables within OWB mapping itself ?*
can you please provide the above details and guide me / help me in this regard.
    Thanks,
    skms.

    1. Add parameters to your mapping using the MAPPING INPUT PARAMETER from the pallette.
    2. Add parameters to the START operator in the process flow. Bind the process flow parameter to the Mapping parameter.
    3. May be appropriate to use CONSTANTS instead of parameters.

  • My contacts and whats app messages are shown on my sister's iphone! How can I secure my iphone and have a high level of security and privacy! Her Contacts are shown in my iphone as well!!

I have and iphone 6 with iOS 8.1. My contacts and whats app messages are shown on my sister's iphone! She have iPhone 6 and and iOS as well. How can I secure my iphone and have a high level of security and privacy! Her Contacts are shown in my iphone as well! Setting in mac and iphone are a bit presice and sensitive. Is there any way to solve my issue and increase the safety, security and privacy in my iPhone and its data?

Your problem is that she used your icloud ID to connect to icloud and thus had all your data synced to her device.  Contacts are not saved in a backup to icloud, since they are stored independently in the Contacts section of icloud.  If someone deletes them, they are gone.  If you had them on the PC would they be available in some backup you frequently make of the PC?

  • Tools for running process flows and mappings

The operations/production area is responsible for running process flows and mappings in a day by day base. As developer, I need to implement a solution that allow them run these artifacts. For this purpose, is there any tool apart from Control Center ????
    Thnks

The scripts you mentioned (sqlplus_exec_background_template.sql and sqlplus_exec_template.sql) can be used for command line execution of mappings.
We do not run these in Oracle Workflow, as we already have an enterprise scheduling platform, Redwood Cronacle in our case. (Also one finds AppWorx and others in this area, see e.g. http://www.bmc.com/USA/Corporate/attachments/BMC_Article2.pdf)

  • High level process model for a Pulp & Paper Industry

    Hi:
Someone can help me?, i'm looking for a organizational reference model for a pulp & paper company, under the alignment for best practices in to SAP R/3
I need know what is the best model for this kind company (chain value, macro process, business process, sub process...)
    Thanks in advance
    Omar Perea

    hi,
    thanks for yor points.
at that time it was opened.for me also it was warning  the same, any way iam providing some more info on it. pls have a look on it.
Pulp and paper industry facing IT modernisation needs
Today most pulp and paper industry companies face serious financial challenges to increase return on investment and improve capital utilisation.
Companies are working to improve the efficiency of their supply chains and thereby reduce working capital, increase transaction velocity and improve inventory turnover. Mergers, acquisitions and alliances are reshaping the pulp and paper industry. Although the pulp and paper industry has invested heavily in IT systems, a large variety of old systems is often complex, inflexible in regard to integration and difficult to operate. As they reflect past organisations and business models, the streamlining of business processes is difficult.
Mega trends in the pulp and paper industry IT.
The pulp and paper industry is stepping into a new phase of business evolution driven by consolidation of industry, globalisation and ever-increasing competition. These market drivers are forcing the pulp and paper industry to put a greater focus on cost efficiency. These focuses are creating totally new challenges for the organisation, specifically in the IT area.
IT is increasingly becoming a commodity. This is a result of product standardisation and the popularity of off-the-shelf-products that facilitate the economies of scale. This phenomenon is also supported by increasing utilisation of competence resources in low-cost countries.
Managing change becomes more and more difficult. Very often companies face the need for new changes before they have seen the benefits of the previous ones. The cycle of change is short and the transformation environment becomes very complicated. On the other hand, IT becomes the tool in forcing business changes to happen. Often the only practical way to roll out new processes and practices is through the modernisation of information systems.
Like many other industries, the pulp and paper industry is concentrating on providing digitalised self-services as part of their business development.
    Industry background
Since the consolidation and globalisation of the pulp and paper industry, there has been increasing pressure to continuously improve both its internal and external efficiency. In the large pulp and paper mills, production management systems typically consist of several different systems, which might also be from different suppliers. Systems are often isolated islands, which are successful in managing information of their own area but they lack the comprehensive information exploiting and sharing. This has resulted in a complex and inflexible architecture of legacy systems. These legacy systems are expensive to manage and difficult to develop to meet business requirements.
This pressure has led to massive IT investments and a continuous rebuild of the IT environments in order to meet efficiency challenges. Although many pulp and paper mills have invested a lot in building up their business supporting IT, especially Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, the return on investment is often difficult to measure. There is a lot of potential to improve usability of systems by harmonising business processes and integrating the systems more efficiently in order to better support actual business needs.
Most pulp and paper industry companies have thus come to a point where a more radical rebuild and renewal of the entire IT and network environment is required. Fortunately, the conditions for this have improved over the last few years, due largely to an increasing range of commercially available application platforms adopted for the pulp and paper industry, the acceptance of common industry standards, and the evolution of refined integration and migration methods.
Renewing and harmonising the company’s operations and IT systems is still, however, a demanding undertaking. Securing continuous operations, while at the same time replacing the core systems and processes, requires a high level of expertise in pulp and paper industry processes and information technology. To complement the in-house competence, the pulp and paper industry will need to establish partnerships with outside solution providers and system integrators. To minimise risks and keep control of business-critical technology, new delivery models will be a necessity.

  • Process Flow and Workflow

Hi experts, does a process flow cannot be used if we dont have oracle workflow?
If yes, any of you know the alternative ways to run a schedule mapping sequentially?
Currently i am running schedule from OWB (Control center manager). And i am not satisfied because the lack of Log / information regarding the job execution. Is there a way to get more detail schedule job logs???
    Thank you in advance guys...

Oracle is pretty smart when it comes to those things, Im sure the table is not lock because one session is DML:ing it and one is querying it. You can get a deadlock when the sessions are trying to DML for the same row, because update/insert/delete is based on row lock, not table lock.
What you can do to test these kinds of long operation mappings is to generete the intermediate code from the map - open the map editor and click on genereate - choose intermediate from the dropdown list and click on your target table. Copy that code and run it from i.e toad, do the same thing instantly for the other map and you will found out if your sessions are locking each other.
Because the owb map is bascly configured in a way that it most of it is unnecessery when your are not running it thrue the repository, like I said. Try to run it they way it is - else create a new one by the code generated in the intermediate mapping.
    Cheers

  • Design considerations for wrapping higher level process

So Ive used workflow now on a few projects and have become comfortable building/coding with it.  Recently a discussion was started to design a new process to automate a part of the business Im in and there are several different departments, each with
their own different functions and processes that they perform.  During this discussion, the thought came to me - why stop with just the "small" picture where I was using WF to contain and execute business rules, but also wrap the higher level
    abstractions also.
For example, a department performs steps A, B and C.  Each step might have some branching in it (if/then etc).  Its only the "steps Im using workflow currently.
Above the department, there is another layer, lets call it "group".  There would be several different groups, each with its own departments, some with the same name as other groups, but the internal structure might be different for a given
department between groups.  So this means that if I modeled a department in one group, I cant assume I can reuse that department in another groups workflow.
My main unknown however, is how would a user interact with a workflow that was this high level.  Abstracting higher levels, means users dont need to interact with or execute the whole workflow each time, only a part of it.  So am I looking at pausing/resuming
the bigger workflow?  How can I "skip" to a certain stage or area of a workflow, bypassing the stuff that has already been done?
Correct me if Im wrong, but this seems to be where I need to look at bookmarks?
In my case, something similar to an order in a shopping cart is what would be the input type for the bigger workflow.  There are several different groups of users that have to set or add properties to associated objects (sql tables) related to the order
before it can be marked "complete".
How would you tie together a "wizard" type concept with workflow?  This seems to be the type of model we are considering.  A user takes an order a few steps, then another user from a different group/department adds some attributes and
the workflow/wizard continues a few more levels down.  Finally, after all the rules have been matched and required data provided, the workflow can "finish".
    Hope my description seems clear.

My main unknown however, is how would a user interact with a workflow that was this high level.  Abstracting higher levels, means users dont need to interact with or execute the whole workflow each time, only a part of it.  So am I looking at pausing/resuming

If you want to skip to certain state or bypass what stuff that has been done, you need give logic judgment first. Bookmarks are the mechanism that enables an activity to passively wait for input without holding onto a workflow thread. When an activity signals
that it is waiting for stimulus, it can create a bookmark. So bookmark is available for you during create this application.
Here are some workflow applications, see:
    Workflow Application
    hope it helps.

  • OWB Process Flow and Mapping Differences

IHAC where we have a mapping which produces two different operations depending on how the mapping is called from the Deployment Manager.
When you call the mapping as an individual job an INSERT is performed.
However, when the SAME MAPPING is called as part of a process flow a MERGE is performed instead.
The test data for each case is exactly the same and the result set at the end of the mapping, using either, method is the same.
Has anyone come across this sort of behaviour before ?
I would be grateful to know why this is happening and should I be concerned about it given the fact that the outcome is the same in both cases.
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

    Hi Christopher,
This is funky. I have not seen this before... The only thing I can think of is that in the process flow someone changed the runtime parameters for the mapping, doing a set based execution while the map itself is doing this row based...
    Should not happen otherwise...

  • Scheduling process flows and mappings

    Hello
I have created many process flows. Now i want to schedule it. I know i can use OEM, but i need to log in as DBA. i also know that you can use owb scheduler module to schedule a process flow. but i want to schedule it using sql plus. i found a link on scheduling process flow in sql plus for older versions of OWB. Can we use the same script for OWB 10.2? here is the link - http://www.dba-oracle.com/oracle_news/2005_7_7_Scheduling_an_OWB.htm
Please let me know how to schedule a process flow in OWB 10.2 in sql plus. It would be great if you could post the sql script required to schedule OWB 10.2 process flows.
    Thank You

    Hi,
the web server named by the link is down, so a general answer.
You can use the scripts sqlplus_exec_template.sql and oem_exec_template.sql from the directory <OWBHOME>/owb/rtp/sql and schedule it with cron or at or scheduler or ...

    Hello,
Did you happen to read this:
"Be aware, the receiving, requesting or distributing of copyrighted material by any means other than those set forth by the owner of said material is against the law. DO NOT request such material nor distribute such material on SDN, and for your own good I would not recommend you do it anywhere else either."

  • Process Flow and Passing Parameters to Mappings

    I am missing something.
I have an Input Parameter on mapping Strategy_Start.
I want to pass a value from my Process Flow to the Mapping Strategy_Start that is in the Process Flow.
I have tried to create a Parameter on the Start that has a Literal value and bind that to the Strategy_Start Mapping.
    That didn't work.
I tried to create variable and pass the value to the Strategy_start,
That didn't work, I got an error about binding to a out literal.
    What am I missing.
I could not really find steps in Documentation for this.
    I am using 11gr1
thanks for any advice or help.
    greG

    Ok,
For Literal Expressions It was easier than I thought.
In my Process Flow for the mapping that has a parameter,
I just set the value of the Parameter when looking in Explorer.
I thought I had to create a parameter or a variable and then pass that into the value. That is why it was yelling at me about
can't use a constant value as a parameter in value.
If this is not the way let me know, but it appears to be ok now.
    thanks

  • ChaRM Process Flow and user authorizations

    Hello!
I configured ChaRM functionality within SAP Solution Manager 4.0 (SP 13).
I have the following question about the appropriate authorizations in CharM:
<b>- What are the steps and made by whom?</b>
(from create a service Desk message in satelite system to create, approve and process Change Request e.g. urgent correction in SAP Solution Manager)
    - <b>How is responsible for the creation of a change request e.g. urgent correction?</b>
    (SAP_SOCM_REQUESTER
    SAP_CM_ADMINISTRATOR_COMP
    SAP_CM_DEVELOPER_COMP)
    - <b>Does some documentation exist describing the assignment of authorization roles (e.g.SAP_CM_ADMINISTRATOR_COMP)to the tasks in ChaRM?</b>
E.g. for Requester, Approve person, Developer, End User,..
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Hi Sid,
There is a concept called transport of copies (ToCs) which will help you in this situation.
Transport of copies can move the changes to TEST environment when ChaRM project is "in development".
Transport of copies can move chang only to next system i.e. TEST and cannot move further to production system.
Developers can test and revert back the change untill test is successful without any effect on the flow of the change documents. Once development is as per requirement, regular transport request can be released from D -> Q -> P.
    Thanks,
    Ambarish

  • Process Flows and commit strategy

    Hi,
    using Oracle 11.2.0.3.
    Have the following situtaion
2 mappings in a proces sflow.
First one runs and inserts into table products, second one runs and relies on data having been commtted in first one.
Is it correct that the commit strategy is controlled by the mappings
i.e. mapping one will run, data will be comitted, mapping 2 will run and rely on dat ahaving been comitted after mapping one ran.
Looking at an issue here looks as if data not committde until entire proces sflow ran.
    Thanks

Commit control is in mappings. Look at them as Mapping 1 is session 1 and Mapping 2 is session 2, after each session ends it gets commited.
