Block popups in Adobe Reader

Hello,
I would like to block the pop ups in Adobe Reader, is there a way this can be done? What I am trying to do is automate some process with Adobe files, when it opens Adobe to do the work, if there are pop ups it blocks my process from continuing.
Thanks, Huy.

There is no "turn off all messages" setting. If you can be specific (screen shot?) about messages, maybe for certain ones there is a way to avoid them.
Note that Adobe Reader is unsuitable for server use.

The instructions on the Adobe site are outdated and do no longer apply to current Firefox versions and you can ignore those instructions and save the Adobe installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.

  • Text blocked out with adobe reader 9.20. Need help PLEASE!?!

Whenever I open a PDF much of the text is blocked out.  Can anyone please help?

Can you describe what you mean by "blocked out"? Is it a gray box where the text should be or is it something else? If it IS a gray box, are you sure it is text and not an image? Does it happen with a few particular PDF's or does it happen in all of them?

  • Adobe Reader blocks Windows Photoviewer

    Hi Guys,
we have several PDF with links to pictures on a Windows-Share.
Everytime we click on a link to open a picture Acrobat Reader blocks the Windows Photoviewer.dll.
When we disable the Protected Mode the Warning still pops up, but then there is a checkbox "Do not show this message again".
Is it possible to verify our Share as a secure area so the popup will not show again?
Sadly there is nothing about links in a PDF on the Arobat Reader Help sites.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andi
Edit: We use the latest Acrobat Reader 11.0.4

    Google Chrome is a problem:
if you use Chrome's own PDF viewer, the results are unpredictable.
if you use the Adobe Reader plugin with Chrome, it may reject (block) it if it is not the latest version.  Reader 11.0.08 is the latest version for Windows XP, but Chrome may insist on the current version 11.0.10.
My suggestion; use a different browser!

  • Adobe Reader X Pro serial number popup on launch (windows 7)

    Hi Folks
I have Adobe CS6 and part of this volume licence comes Adober reder X. 10.0.0
Unfortunately I'm having issues when deploying the Adober reader X package, I get a popup saying I have x amount of days left of my trial. (and it is actually counting down)
I've allocated the CS6 suite out to many PC's maybe 700 or so, and then allocated the Adobe reder X pro out. This is a side loading application from my understanding and depends on the full CS6 to be out first.  The results I'm finding are mixed. Some staions are working fine, no popup's what so ever and others when opening a PDF or launch the application will produce the popup. This does seem to be computer specific I've tested the same network user on different stations and get different results. working, not working! I've also tried the full suite + adobe reader x pro on windows XP stations and so far it's never had the same issues, unfortunately out networks are quickly moving to windows 7, this seems to be the OS I have the problems with. I've not fully checked the difference with installed application from one station from another, I can do if required but most stations get the same apps installed via a 3rd party deployment tool.
I used the Customisation wizard to create the application and cut down on as many popups/updates as possible using this little tool.  All works as you would expect apart from this serial number behaviour.  This is causing major issues in all our education establishments and I really need to find some solution to this problem that doesn't involve de-installing the applications, it's too far spread.
I've been readign the forums and see a few different issues relating to serial number popup issues.  Is this a software design fault?

    Hi,
You've provided details about the problem, but not about your configuration and deployment steps.
First, follow the steps in the Admin and Wizard Guides here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/index.html. Pay attention to the Activation methodologies. You may have done all that, but double check.
At the bottom of the installation workflows section, you'll also find this: http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/licensing.html#acrobat-standa lone-and-aamee
There is additional doc for Acrobat delivered with CS here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html
    HTH!

  • Accidentally blocked a link in Adobe Reader X?

Hi guys, when clicking on a link in a PDF file (the Flex Hero Release Notes PDF), I was prompted by Adobe Reader X about the link I clicked about to open. I accidentally clicked the middle button of that alert which I believe instructs Adobe Reader X to block the link. Unfortunately, the checkbox where it states that the action is remembered is checked. So my problem is, I can't visit the URL anymore because Adobe Reader X blocks it. I searched the Preferences but can't seem to find the option to remove blocked URLs.

    Hi,
You can change the access to the specified URL through the following steps:
    1. Goto Edit > Preferences
    2. On the left pane click on "Trust Manager"
    3. Click on "Change Settings" button on the right window pane.
    4. In the "Web Sites" section, you will be seeing all the URL's to which user has granted or blocked access. Click on the respective URL (eg bugs.adobe.com) and click on "Delete" button above and close all Dialogs by clicking OK. This will enable Adobe Reader X to prompt for the new action to be taken when trying to access the respective URL.
    Hope this solves your issue.
    Thanks
    Ankit

  • I'm told my Adobe Reader plug in is blocked because it's a old version, so how do I delete it and update to newer one?

I currently have a plugin Adobe Reader 9.1.0.163 installed. It says it is known to be unstable and should be updated. I also got a message that says Adobe Reader 9.5.1 and lower has been blocked for my protection. So how do I go about UNINSTALLING it to update the new version?

What version of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat do you have? Updating that should take care of the plugin automatically. If it doesn't, we can detail how to track down the old plugin and remove it.
To update your Adobe product, open it directly (outside Firefox) then on the Help menu, choose Check for Updates. If it claims to already be up-to-date, could you re-open the Help menu and choose the "About" item to check your current version number?
After updating Adobe Reader/Acrobat, you may need to exit and start Firefox up again before the change is detected. Any improvement?

  • Adobe Reader Blocked in Safari

It's been a while, but ever since I upadated to Safari 7.0.1 (or maybe even the version earlier), I've been unable to open any PDF documents inside of Safari. When I click on a link on Google linked to a PDF document, a grey page shows up with the message "Adobe Reader blocked for this website" I tried clicking the message and a panel dropped down asking me whether I trust the website or not. But even after I clicked Trust and the page reloaded it self the PDF still doesn't show up.
Anyoen know how to get around this? I know Apple got rid of native support for many web applications because of security threat but there should be a way to put it back in right?

  • Adobe reader blocked for this site

Since the transfer to OSX Mavericks it happens rather frequent that at opening a site page I get the message "adobe reader blocked for this site". I do not know if the installation of Adobe reader is required by Mavericks. I thought it is by default that Preview should take care of this. Or???????
So once I installed Adobe reader and found out that Adobe is the new default. I do not want that, so I eliminated Adobe reader.
Any suggestion on what is going on would be appreciated.

OK, found out how to restore Preview to be the default for opening PDF files. However, Safari 7.0 still refuses to use Preview as the default to open pages  that require a PDF reader. Anyone knows how to tackle this?

I have just downloaded that installer (on Windows 7, using Pale Moon), and the download completed within less than 10 seconds.  And I am some 10,000km away from the Adobe download servers.
Can you try a different browser?

Adobe Reader [plugin] blocks PDF rendering in Safari. Error Message tells user to start Adobe Reader and accept the EULA, then restart Safari.

Seems to happen with some sites that use web forms.
    Any ideas?

Forgot to add--PDF forms from websites pull up fine in FireFox 27.0.1 and Chrome 32.0.1700.77.  So, it appears to be a Safari issue... Or perhaps an issue with a plug-in or extension...?
