Block settlement to auc for downpayment

Hi SAP Friends,
There is a specific requirement in one of our project.
In an investment project, advance payment is issued against a service PO with ref to WBS. The requirement is to block the settlement to AUC for this advance payment only until service entry acceptance is made. Other commitment in the WBS should go as usual without problem with regular path of setlement to AUC and from AUC to Fixed asset.

Srinivasan

Hi Srinivasan,
Please check if this could be of any help to you.
Specify Capitalization of AUC/Down-Payment
In this step, you determine how the system will deal with down payments on AuCs and their closing invoice during the settlement (capitalization) of the AuC. This system setting is particularly relevant for respresenting down payments from previous years in the asset history sheet.
Standard Settings
The system capitalizes down payments as follows in the standard system:
If you capitalize a down payment from the previous year and the closing invoice from the current year together, the amount of the down payment is transferred with the transaction type for asset data from previous years, and only the difference between the closing invoice and the down payment is transferred with the transaction type for current acquisitions.
Activities
If you want to change the default setting, you must set the indicator for the capitalization of assets under construction without down payments. If this indicator is set, the system ignores down payments during the line item settlement of assets under construction. The total amount of the closing invoice is always transferred with the transaction type according to its posting year.
SPRO -  Asset Accounting - Transactions - Capitalization of Assets under Construction - Specify Capitalization of AUC/Down-Payment
Indicator transfer down payments from previous years
When you set this indicator, the system ignores downpayments during the line item settlement of assets under construction. The total amount of the closing invoice is then always transferred to the capitalized asset using the transaction type based on the year of the closing invoice.
Use
This has the following result:
There is an opposite effect when the indicator is not set, and you capitalize a downpayment from a previous year along with the closing invoice from the current year. In this case, the system transfers the amount of the downpayment from the previous year using a transaction type for old assets data. It transfers the difference between the total amount of the closing invoice and the downpayment using a transaction type for new acquisitions.

Vinayak.

  • Internal order posted and settled to auc in incorrect ccode and fiscal year

    Hi,
We created an internal order in ian ncorrect company code and settled the cost to AUC in previous fiscal year.
I would like to know what options do you recommend to move the AUC cost from incorrect company code to internal order in a correct company in the current fiscal year. Our AUC account is set up as control account and cannot be manually posted to.
I understand Internal order settlement to AUC for previous fiscal period cannot be reversed in the current year?.
    Kindly advise
    Umang

    Hi
Select the Internal order > Reverse the settlement in the same year...(KO88)
Try to transfer the balance from this IO to new IO in the other co code from (F-02)..
You need to have Inter Co clearing accounts in the IMG....
now settle the new IO to new asset (AUC) in the other company

  • Line item Settlement and KOB5 for automatically created AUCs to PM orders

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to set up line item settlement for automatically created AUCs. We would like to use line item settlement because we want to see the costs split up by either percentage or amount when settled to the AUC.  If I can't settle by percentage or amount to the AUC then i'd like to be able to temporarily block some of the costs from settling.  This is for billing not capitalization purposes since all costs will eventually settle to one final asset. The settlement is done using transaction KO88 or KO8G and automatic processing type.  I’ve configured a PM Order type as an investment order and set up the related investment profile and investment asset class.  Some of the things I've determined from my testing:
Using transaction KOB5, costs can be split up by creating other distribution rules, but only to another object (i.e. another
asset, order, cost center etc. by using the Preliminary) not to the automatically created AUC linked to the order
The default settlement rule is account assignment category FXA, percentage rate 100%, settlement type AUC to the AUC
and therefore cannot be updated/altered when using KOB5 or any other transaction.
Once the costs are settled to another object other than the AUC, those costs cannot be settled to the final asset. Creating Preliminary
settlement rules to a receiver IO and changing the period or fiscal year will not “block” costs from settling whether the processing type is automatic, by period, partial capitalization or full settlement.
I’ve been testing this out in our development client and need verification that this is the way that transaction KOB5 works with line item settlement or did I do something incorrect .
Your feedback is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

    Hi Zaid,
Thank you for your response.  Assets are not my area so I’m not sure if I missed a transaction or step in the process.   I tested this out by doing the following steps:
Created AUC Asset class with line item checked
Assigned PM Order type as non-investment with no investment profile and created order number
    Created a main asset number
Created an AUC sub asset number to step 3
Created settlement rule to sub asset number on order
    Posted costs to order
Settled from order to AUC with transaction KO88
Created distribution rules for asset with transaction AIAB
Settled from sub asset to main asset number with transaction AIBU
When I settled from the sub to the main asset number in step 9, I found I lost the line item detail.  Is there another configuration setting I need to make to allow me to see the line item detail when I use AIBU?
    Thank you,

  • KO88 - Error when settling for Cost Center AND Auc for the same Internal Or

    Hi Experts,
We need to configure Investment Internal Orders that could settle to both Cost Center and Auc, but each assignments with different Source Cost Elements
    We did the following:
    1. Created Auc Class
    2. Created Investment Profile "IMOBIL" and assigned to Auc Class, flagging Auc
    3. Created Allocation Structure "CV" with two assignments:
01, Source = Cost elements 7000000000 to 7999999999, receiver AUC "by cost element"
02 Source = Cost elements 4000000000 to 4999999999, receiver CTR "by cost element"
    4. Created Model Order, filling the Investment Profile IMOBIL created in step 2.
5 Created Settlement Profile ZCV0001, assigning Allocation Strucutre CV, allowing CTR and AUC for receivers, default receiver is "FXA", doc type "AA".
6 Created ORder Type CV01, assigning Settlement Profile ZCV0001.
When I post only for Asset Expenses (Source Cost element 7, Assigment 01), the settlement through KO88 correctly settles to AUC, and also creates the settlement rule for cost center (i'm using the strategy to create from Responsible Cost Center).
But when I post for Asset Expenses (cost elements 7, receiver AUC) AND General Expenses (Source Cost element 4, receiver CTR), KO88 generates an error KD506, saying that for Assigment 02 - AUC I didnt define a settlement cost element.
    1. Assignment 02 is not AUC, is CTR;
    2. I flagged "by cost element", so I don't need a settlement cost element. And also, I was able to post to AUC when the source posting was only for cost element 7.
Did you face any problem like this?
I cannot find out what is the missing configuration, or if it is a program error...
    Kind Regards
    Mayumi Blak

    Hi Ajay
I already created Source Structure and assigned to my Setllement profile (so I assigned Allocation Structure AND Source Structure).
I don't understand when you say that I need to assign the Source Sutrcture in each rule....because the Source structure is in the Settlement Parameters valid for both rules...
When I post to Asset Expenses only for the internal Order, the 2 rules (CTR and AUC) are created when I run KO88 (but only AUC rule is settled). This is OK.
The problem is when I post for both General Expenses AND Asset Expenses, the system is not recognizing that I have 2 source structures, neither is findind that for CTR AND AUC the Settlement cost elements are the original cost elements.
I'm thinking about changing message KD506 to warning, do you know if this can help?
    Kind Regards

  • User status for investment order to block settlement to final asset

    Hi,
I try to set up a user status to avoid user to settle internal/ investment order to final asset. I cannot find a user status that will let me make the distinction between the automatic settlement to AuC and the partial or full settlement to final asset.
The process we are using is that we do automatic settlement from investment order to AuC on a weekly basis and as soon as the final asset has been entered via KOB5 (distribution of line item) we would like to setlle it.
Do you know a way to set up a user status on an internal order to allow settlement to Asset under construction but not to final asset?
    Thanks
    Sabine

    Hi,
I do not want to send the costs directly to final asset. Costs booked against the investment order should always first go to AuC and then to final asset. What we try to avoid is to have the 2 settlements immediately one after the other. We would like to have the settlement to AuC on a weekly basis and the other one only when capitalization is required. But if the final asset is already entered in the settlement rule of the order via KOB5, then there is a risk to settle to final asset. We would like to  only run the second type of settlement only when the asset is ready to be capitalized. To be able to do that we thought about using the user status. For example, if status is "release", we could settle to Auc but not to final asset and if status is "approved", we could settle to final asset.
Do you see what I mean? I need a status that allows me to perform some transactions and another one that allows me some other business transactions. The problem is that the 2 settlements I am talking about are not recognized as business transaction but as processing type.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Sabine

  • Settling of AUC

    hi,
Pls tell me if am correct or wrong for the following scenerio.
For example, my client pays down payment for an asset (worth 50,000)---
    10,000 in jan
    10,000 in feb
and makes a payment of rs 30,000 in March when he recieves the Asset.and he will capitalise the asset from march.
in this case am creating an AUC in jan and post all the downpayments on to it and finally in march i will create an fixed asset and settle the AUC to this Fxd Asset. Tell me if this process is correct, can i take the down payments being done on to AUC.
    thanking u
    urs Sai

    hello,
please follow the below steps in customising:
1.Entering Alternative Reconciliation Accounts for Down Payments
2.allow downpayment tranasction types in assetclass- you have to select 15 downpayment and add your asset class here
    3. assign gl account AO90 for Aquisition downpayments. this account will be recon accoutn as assetss
4.define special GL account for vendors and do the determination for vendors:- The account has to be set as reconciliation account for vendors.
Tax Category “-“: The net down payment is displayed on this down payment account
    5. for the settlement you have create Define/Assign Settlement Profiles
    6. assign the settlement profile to company code
    7. Specify Capitalization of AUC/Down-Payment.
in customising.. then post downpayment with M special gl indicator.
hope you got the answer, please reward me.
    thanks

  • Automatic Creation of Settlement rule with the settlement type - AUC

We have a situation where I have created an Internal order for AUC. But unable to create the setlement rule automatically with the settlement type -AUC. Please guide us.

    Hi,
This is possible through investment management module.
Define an investment profile using OITA and assign the asset class of AuC in investment profile. Assign investment profile to internal order master data.
AuC will be created on settlement automatically on settlement of inernal order when processing option "Automatic" is selected in KO88.

  • Settle an AuC with investment support

    Hello Gurus,
    I have the following problem:
I have some AuC with investment support measure assigned.
If I settle the AuC created in prior-years the system settle the costs and the investment support to the final assets but If I try to settle an asset created this year, the system does not settle the investment support to the final asset.
I need that when the asset under construction is created and settled to a final asset (within the same year), the investment support iis posted to the final asset aswell.
    Thanks alot for your help.
    Christine

Normally settlement  needs to be performed twice, if the investment support measure is there.
    1) for Investment object to AUC ie WBS / IO to AUC. This called automatic /AUC settlement.
    2) From AUC to Final Asset: This is called final / periodic settlement.
But both these settlement needs to be executed with KO88/ CJ88.

  • Internal Order Settled to AUC reverse process

    Dear Gurus,
I had a hard time to think how to do the processes over and over again.
    The current process is:
Every month the internal order (investment and real order)  will collect the expense on AUC and settle to the AUC.
At the end of year, the AUC will be settled to Fix Asset by internal order settlement rules.
Now what if the settled expense was not correct. For example, in 2009, I created the IO and settled the IO to AUC in several months. But in 2010, I found the expense in IO shall not be settled to AUC, the expense was only the overheads. ( The AUC was not settled to Fix Assets). Just like I wanna reverse the settlement in 2009.
So it would be like this in a flow chart.
    IO-> AUC->FX
Now I need to do this:
    AUC->IO->GL
For IO->GL, I have figured out that I can change the settlement rule profile and make the GL account allowed.
But for AUC->IO , I have no idea and almost burn my brain on it.
Could you please help to throw light ?
    Emma

    Hi,
I tried 2 write offs, please help to see whether I am doing right. Thank you!
I tried to reverse the document but it was not allowed.
I am thinking to post a document like the following:
    1. Doc in 2009
    50 8910000000 settlement AUC             2,964,800.00-        Order:C1BIC83002
    70 3270600041 000327000032 0000    2,964,800.00
    2. What I want to post:
    40 8910000000 settlement AUC         2,964,800.00      C1BIC83002
    75 3270600041 000327000032 0000    2,964,800.00-
But it gave me an error when I enter the asset number.
Asset is investment measure, transaction type not allowed
    Message no. AK005
    Diagnosis
Asset   that is to be posted is an investment measure. You are not allowed to post transactions that affect acquisition value using the current transaction.
    Procedure
Check the asset and transaction type 160.
I am not sure which transaction type is correct.

  • WBS settlement to AUC - use original cost elements?

    Hello gurus
We have an allocation structure which settles project WBS costs to AUC.
The issue is that it is using a single settlement cost element for all the costs going to the AUC.
I notice there is a tick box 'by cost element' in the 'Allocation structure:settlement cost elements' entry for FXA.
What is the result of using this tick box?
We would like the original cost elements in the WBS to be credited rather than the single one.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks everyone

    Hi
    - we do not have secondary cost elements posted
    - we do not use budget checking
As I said, we would like the original cost elements against the WBS to be credited. The single one is causing problems because it posts in total to 55291 (as in the configuration) which does not reconcile back to the many cost elements posted to the WBS.
    Is this possible?
What is the effect of the check box 'by cost element' as we do not understand the help text on this checkbox field and are not sure if this could solve the problem (or there is a downside to using this). If this is not possible we would like to know as well.
    Thanks all

  • Capital project WBS settle to AUC individually

    Dear all experts,
please help me on the following issues.
i am working on a capital project. Investment profile is defined and assgined to the project profile.
    the top WBS is T-09-001
    the second level WBS are T-09-001-01,  T-09-001-02,  T-09-001-03,  T-09-001-04, T-09-001-05 for example.
the third level WBS is T-09-001-05-01.
i do the test settlement when the project status is release. (i didn't maintain the settlement rule.)
the result is that every single WBS is settled to a FXA (the numbers are generated automatically)
    for example
    T-09-001-01 to  FXA 1000/40047/0   30000CNY
    T-09-001-02 to  FXA 1000/40048/0   40000CNY
    T-09-001-03 to  FXA  1000/40049/0  40000CNY......
i am not sure if it is correct or not, because it's my first time to deal with capital projects.
if i want to settle all the sub-WBS to top WBS and the top one settled to AUC, how can i do it.
i manually maintain the settlement rule for all the sub-WBS to top WBS and settle the project again.
but the result is the same. i don't know where the problem is.
please tell me how to do it or how to settle the capital projects in most cases?
    thanks a lot.
    judy

Below was something which we had done in such case:
    1. Created a substitution rule against the WBS element, if the level of WBS >=2 substitute the Investment profile with 'Blank'. With this when ever you create a project and save it or call the substitution from menu, system would retain the investment profile on level 1 WBS and when project is released only 1 AUC is created for the project which is on level 1 WBS.
    2. Settle all other lower WBS to it's parent WBS and you can implement OSS note 211324 - CJB1: Strategy for settlement to superior WBS. Refer the below link about how this works:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/ModificationnoteforStrategyforsettlementtosuperiorWBS
Doing both the above, you would create only 1 AUC (on level 1 WBS) and finally settle all lower WBS to level 1 WBS and from there system would then automatically settle the costs to AUC fixed asset.

  • Should project down payment value settle to AUC

    Dear all
i have two questions when settle the project to AUC
for example, the material cost for project A-01 in Dec is 2000 CNY
and down payment for project A-01 in Dec is 1000CNY
when i do the project settlement for Dec, the AUC value is 3000CNY
that is the total of material cost and down payment.
but i want to exclude the down payment value from AUC value when doing the settlement,  how can i do?
the second question is, when i test run the settlement and check the sender,
i find the sender is 3000CNY with materil cost element for example 600900
but actually, it is not correct.
i created the cost element for down payment, but i can not see the line item.
how should i do? thanks a lot.
    judy

the down payment ideally should be a financial transction and should not be a debit on the project
so ideally your material cost of 200 CNY should be transferred to AuC on settlement
if you are using the WBS to debit then I wiuld suggest that you use PREliminary settlement  - add a settlement rule PRE to G/L account - the account for down payment - you will need to set up the source structure and add that in the settlement rue
This way 1000 CNY goes to G/L and the rest to AuC

  • Cost not settled to AUC in last fiscal year

    Dear SAP Gurus,
We have some WBSE's for which cost is not settled to AUC in last fiscal year. Now while moving the cost from that WBSE's AUC in Current fiscal year , SAP is not allowing us.
So what will be method to settle the cost from those WBSE's to AUC ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pradip

what type settlement you are processing. whether it is a periodic or full settlement.
If you are settling the WBSE to AUC with the periodic settlement refer to the OSS note 425601.

    Hi,
While settling the AUC internal order,i am gettingg the below error.Kindly advice me
Define a settlement cost element for receiver type FXA
    Message no. KD506
    Diagnosis
In allocation structure A1 (controlling area AFCO), you did not define which cost element should be used when settling costs/revenues of the sender. Nor did you define receiver type FXA.
    Procedure
Assign a different allocation structure to the settlement sender (-> Master data -> Settlement rule -> Goto -> Settlement parameters), or maintain allocation structure A1.
    Thanks
    Supriya

    Hi Supriya,
Go to SPRO-> Controlling > Internal orders>Actual postings>Settlement> Maintain Allocation structures & choose A1 and go to assignment, select the relevant category like raw material / consumption and then go to source, check the range of cost elements first then click the settlement cos t element and under that choose FXA and define the settlement cost element which must be created under 22 category.
After maintainig the above, you will not get the error anymore.

  • Validation settlement to AUC or FXA from PS (CJ88)

    Hi All,
I have an issue when doing settlement from WBS to AUC/FXA.
Let say the project has a plant call ABCD, then i put settlement rule AUC or FXA..and doing settlement CJ88...but i could settle to AUC / FXA to different plant call CDEF . We decided not to use automatic AUC from IM, we create AUC and FXA from Asset module.
How to validate that Project plant ABCD only could settle to AUC or FXA which have same plant..
    Cheers,

    img-fi-spec purp ledger-tools-maintain validation/substitution rules - maintain substitution
substitution rule under financial acc -line items
create a substitution for doc type and get plant from WBS
for this use substitution by exit for plant UF101
