BLock Storage Location for Material

Hi experts,
Some Unwanted storage location exists for some materials . I want to to block them for transfer posting . I tried to do it thru MM06. It is only giving warning msg but not an error msg.
Please suggest.

Dear,
Please Set storage location level deletion flag in material master.
Than GO,
SPRO -> Materials Management -> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory -> Define Attributes of System Messages.
Click on Settings for System Messages.
Change Status W to E for Message Number M7 127 - Material & & & flagged for deletion.
Than try to make material document.
You can't do it.

pl let us know how to block storage location for a material in Plant.
Requirement is transfer posting (MIGO) should not allow by using 311 mov type in sloc, error message to receive.
example ;
material ; 5000
sloc ; 0001

migo-transfer posting should not happen by using 311

0001 - to 0002
we want to block sloc-0002, how to block sloc, pl help if any solution available.

Hi,
You can block the material completely for any movement type by checking X Plant matl status in Basic data view of material master.Or if you want to block specific movement type it will have to done thro authorisation but will apply to all materials .Here the authorisation object M_MSEG_LGO can be worked to remove the movement type or storage loaction .

Does it possible to block storage location for any movment
I know I have authorization object but it is required from me to change all roles
and to look for all transaction that make movment
Does there is a easy way just to block the storage location without delete it

Use Transaction Code MM06 to set a deletion flag for material at storage location level. This shall be done for all materials that have this storage location that can be found by checking the table MARD with SE16.
As well the message M7 127 from warning to error message (transaction OMCQ) must be changed

Go to SPRO > MM > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Authorization Management > Authorization Check for Storage Locations > Here activate the authorization for storage location under plant
And use authorization object as "M_MSEG_LGO"

Block Storage location for particular material

Hi,
We gave defined storage location for finished product as follows>
1050 - 2-8°
1040 - RT
When I have created one material, wrongly i have created it in 1050 instead of 1040.
Then i have extend that material to 1040. Now that material is showing both storage locations.
Is it possible to block storage location 1050 for this material only?
Because of both SLOC thre are chaces of wrong receipt in 1050.
Pl. help me to solve this problem.

I have flagged storage location for deletion but till for this storage location system allows receipt also system allows stk. transfer in this location.
Pl. help me so that storage location is permanently deleted from the material or system not allow for GR.

Block Storage Location from further posting
   You can block the storage location of a material without affecting the rest of the location using the same material.
    Create a Physical Inventory document for the storage location with transaction MI01
    Select the Posting Block checkbox.
    This would prevent transactions from occuring until you either post or delete the physical inventory document.
    (There are no impact, unless you do a post difference for the physical inventory document.)

Hi,
If u want to delete the storage loc for a single material then do the same thro' mm06, enter the material # and storage loc, put a del ind tick & save it.
If u want to delete the storage location itself from plant then u can do the same as told above, thro OX09 by making the stock nil

Automatically creation of storage location for material, in MF60

Hi all,
my collegue of PP module uses MF60 transaction.
When he puts XXXX as Replenishment storage location, the system tells him this error: To stge loc. XXXX does not exist for material M1010000182 in plant 0001.
In MM i have activate the automatic creation of storage location for plant 0001 and for all movement types.
Why MF60 does not respect this requirement?
If I try to do movement type 311 with MIGO, manually, there's no problem to transfer the material from a storage location to , XXXX s.loc.
Is there something more that I have to do?

Error:storage location for material's valuation type does not exit

create physical inventory document for material , it has a error message "Storage location X105 for material 0004AA00 plant 1151 valuation type **** does not exist", MMSC is ok, so i don't know what question?

Hi Yan,
If no previous goods movements have been posted yet for the combination of the relevant material, plant, storage location and valuation type the physical inventory cannot be done.
The table MCHB is used for both batch managed materials and materials with split valuation. You can only create a physical inventory document for a material with   split valuation when both, a MARD and a MCHB segment are available.
When you create a valuation type in the material master, only the table MBEW is updated - an entry is not created in the table MCHB. This is needed however to perform a physical inventory for this material.
This MCHB segment is created when you perform a goods receipt for the material, but (like with batches) a physical inventory posting cannot   create this entry in the table.
You will need to create a material posting for these materials if you wish to create a physical inventory for them. On the other hand, please,    consider that it is not necessary to create a physical inventory for those materials which have not suffered any goods movement at all.
If you want to make a physical inventory for a material valuated separately, you have to proceed as follows:
- make a goods receipt (561)==> then the stock segment will be created
- make the reversal of the goods receipt
- make the inventory.

Storage location for material to be made mendatory and default

Hi,
We are generating PR of material through CJ2N. I want to make storage location filed in generatl data tab of material, mandatory as well defalut value depending upon the project. If defalult value can not come depending upon project defination then i want to make default value as blank but mandatory
How can i do this?

Dear Kalpesh,
In standard SAP the storage location will be an input field and no default values will get populated when you attach a material component in the activities as the material master will be extended to multiple storage locations.But in your case if is coming as default either some screen variant must exist or some parameter Id would have been maintained.Check Which & How the storage location is getting defaulted from your MM consultant.

Get storage location for material

I have a specific requirement,
I need to find out the current stock of a material provided and detaisl i need are quantity, wareshouse number, plant, storage type, storage type name,
i m getting most of data from MARD, wat I am lacking is storage type and storage type name, can any one please help?

Any Idoc for "storage location for a material" ?

Hi Everyone,
Does anybody know if there is an IDoc type to insert storage location for a material (Table MARD).
BDC is also an option but IDoc should be a better choice.

Hi Ankur,
Storage location view of a material can be created with
MATMAS message type ( Segment E1MARDM ) . You can also use program RMDATIND with relevant data to add the storage location view.

Open a storage location for a material

how can I open a storage location for a material ?

A storage location is customizing, this is in general open to take any material.
depending on the customizing setting for Auto.create storage location you allow SAP to add the storage location view to your material master automatically with the first movement of a material to a storage location or not.
if you dont allow that, then you have to maintain the storage location view in material master manually for each storage location before you can post a movement for this material in a certain storage location.

Storage location for 331 movement

Dear All.
Is it possible to assign storage location for sample usage movement in UD inspection lot stock tab. our requiremnt is through lot post material by 331 movement to Scrap storage location.

Hello Dev,
Not really!
By 331 movement stock reduces from system.
Storage location is required for those movement types for which stock is either stored or transferred from one location to another.
What you can do is, you can transfer this quantity to block stock instead of sample usage. Later you can scrap this by 555 movement.

    This is manish.here i am with some problem regarding the "Blocking Storage Location".
I have some storage locations which are actually not in use,but they have stock in SAP where as there is no any stock physically,now i want to vanish that storage location.
1) So is it possible to remove storage location from plant?
2) Also is it possible to block the perticular storage location for perticular material?
   As i think MMSC not useful here.Also custmisation in enterprise structure will only remove the storage location at plant level.

   This is regarding the blocking storage location.The problem has been solved.
the steps what u suggested,was quite helpful for me up to
use MM06..
Enter material and sloc..
then enter
then mark check box against SLOC
save and continue,
material will be blocked for the said Sloc.
        But the still system aalows the posting to that storage location.
the above problem has been solved by other way.
