Block the authorization in QM results recording

Hi All...
I am a QM consultant ...Have some problem reg authorization...
we have 2 level of authorization in QM module.
Where 1st level is only allowed to record the results, they should not be allowed reopen the closed results and edit the result. This we tried to do by using the result record status (Tcode for results recording QE01). but not able to restrict the users. the thing is when user enter the result and after doing the valuaiton & closing the status becomes - 5. after that the user should not be allowed to reopen means status - 2. How to do it???
Please share some inputs....

Hello Srinivas,
For the inspector to valuate the result he needs authorization of value 3 for QESTATNEW, for closing he needs value 5 for QESTATNEW and for putting in process he needs value 2 for QESTATNEW.
Similarly, the initial status should be 1, 2, 3, 5 & 6 for successfully completing the operation.
Say, if the he does not have 3 for QESTATNEW then the valuate button (balance) will be disabled so he wont be able to change the status of the characteristic to 3.
If he does not have 5 for QESTATNEW then the close button (closed lock) will be disabled so he wont be able to change the status to 5.
If he does not have 2 for QESTATNEW then the put in process button (open lock) will be disabled so he wont be able to change status of the characteristic back to 2.
I hope I have cleared your doubt.

Overwriting results in QE51N (results recording)

Hi all,
I have a situation here whereby we allow QM users to enter the results accordingly per sample lot in each inspection characteristic.
Right before we perform UD, the QM manager would like himself only to have authorization to overwrite the values entered in results recording only. Is it possible for us to use this authorization object Q_CHAR_PRC to control? Or should we use user profile instead?

Thanks for your reply. Could you advise what values I am able to maintain in the object Q_CHAR_PRC? I can only do SU53 screen but no access to authorizations even PFCG.
What I can see now in my SU53 screen when I hit error is QESTATNEW = 5 and QESTATOLD = 3 and it also checks against the work centre and plant code.

Usage decision vs result recording.

Hi All Guru,
I am new in QM , was MM & PP support. I am confused here about the usage decision vs result recording.
I do understand in QM there's inspection lot , in order to release the inspection lot , i should released the UD.
So what's the different between this both ?
Can i have inspection lot without result recording ?
Or can i have inspection lot without UD ?
Please help to clarify my confuse.

Thanks for understand because i am totally new in QM.
I won't use QM for Notification here. I will use QM for stock transfer & QM in Delivery before PGI.
As i know the basic requirement of QM
Setup the Master Data (QM View & all QM relavant data) ---> Type of inspection (which will determine which type of inspection to carry out ) -----> Inspection Lot Configuration --->Configuration for UD ----> Configuration for COA.
Master data that which required
Material master QM view,
Master inspection characteristics,
Task lists or inspection plans
Code, Code groups and Selected sets.
Quality info-record
My Question :
By having the above setup and configuration , without result recording can i have the COA to print out for either Post Process Inspection (Final FG) or Inspection at Delivery ?
With the Master Data which i mention as above , is it sufficient for me to activate
Post Process Inspection (Final FG - QM PP)
QM Inspection at Delivery (QM /SD)
QM stock transfer with inspection type 08.

Displaying long text maintained for selected set codes in result recording

Hi Gurus,
I have maintained qualitative mic.For this mic i have defined selected set codes & for these selected set codes i have maintained long text.
My client requirement is that this long text should be visible while doing result recording for the mic.Is this possible.

How can they expect that? Long text can be... well.. long....... How can you include that on the same screen as results recording. What if you have 5 charac with long text? What if each selected set choice has long text and you had two choices for each? That's ten sections of long text on one screen? Impossible.
Printing the long text on the cert shouldn't be a problem. You just have to get someone to code it into the layout set.

Preventing UD without results recording

HI,
We are able to do force closing of the inspection lots without results recording by registering the UD directly. How to prevent this? i.e. we dont want to register UD for lots without result recording for all the characterisitics. With User status we cannot achieve this because if we register results for some characteristics also the system status will be updated.

yes as Mr.Shyamal mentioned, you can get through User status and in MIC slect the Required Characteristic radio button on control indicators,
If you set this indicator, the inspection characteristic must be inspected.
This means that you can only make a usage decision for the inspection lot after you have confirmed inspection results for this inspection characteristic.

My client is steel manufacturing industry.The requirement of client is that, after doing usage decision and stock posting they want to do result recording.Thy want it like this because in case of urgency they pass the material and afterward they do the result recording.Is such a scenario is possible in standard sap.If yes pls. provide me the solution.

I wouls suggest you look at Jan's suggestion. Setting everything as LT characteristics is
1) not a good quality practice
2) you would still have to manually to the UD I believe, auto UD won't work. So if you have to manually process the lot anyway, you may as well just make the sotck posting and leave the lot open for results recording.

How to see MIC number in Result Recording Screen

Hi,
During result recording (thru QE51N/ QA32 ) in result recording screen we see MIC short text but not the MIC number.
How to get the MIC number during result recording screen?
Already we have used Info Field for this & get the MIC number Directly in result recording screen but User like to go for other option.

Status profile for Result recording & UD

I am using a status profile for restricting the UD (QM_L_004)without result recording. The stages are INIT and QFIN with the required settings.
But users even after doing result recoding are getting an error while choosing the UD code. The error is Close Inspection - Complete. I have maintained this status on QFIN as ALLOWED and SET. I checked for authorisation (SU53) and found that it is giving for Object category QL1 for status profile ( QM_L_004).
I request you all to please give me the details on this object category. Where it is linked & also should i extend the other object category QL2, QL3 and what will be its effects.
we have issue of people not attaching MICs in inspection plan and giving only UD. I want to address this issue also

Suppose status no. for 1st one is 10 and for next one is 20. so for 1st one you put lowest and highest value 10 to 10. same way for secone one put 20 to 20.
Now initially 10 is active now for second status put set when RR staus has acieved. In the same prohibit UD. Means select that button in which it does not allowed. This setting is only for status no. 10.
Now setting for second status press set button wheen RR done. So it will get activated when RR done. Now in this select UD allowed radio button.
Do this way, it will work.

Results Recording Work List By Work Centre

Experts,
My Inspection Plans have two work centres.
Can I run a report which lists how many results (not UD) each work centre has recorded on a particular day?

Hi,
Quite unique and interesting!
As per my knowledge there is no specific standard report for this. You may have to go with work around- Z report for this. I do have a suggestion. Just check whether feasible.
1.     The date on which result recording is carried out gets stored in QAMR table. The field is QAMR-ERSTELLDAT.
2.     Work centers 2 in number, means you are dealing with 2 operations.
3.     The main task here I think, is to correlate inspection lot number with its work centers which is quite cumbersome, even if you try to link QALS, PLPO, CRHD tables with each other.
4.     Node number in table QAMR (field VORGLFNR) is nothing but operation number. Instead of work center if you go with operation number as input, may serve the purpose.
5.     Give input as inspection lot number, date of result recording QAMR-ERSTELLDAT and operation (optional)
6.     For the given input date if you find any data in QAMR, you may conclude RR is carried out on this date.
7.     Rest of the details (material code, material description, vendor etc) you can very well fetch once you know inspection lot number.

Activating defect class during result recording.

I have created Defect class with few codes, during result recording defect class is 'GREY' not allowing to select code (only display).
I want it's should be available so that one can choose the relevant code from defect class whille doing result recording.
Kindly provide your expertise comments to do the same.

Please do the following setting
In Result recording screen > Go to Setting (Menu button ) > Defect Class on
By doing this when you do result recording and the reading is out of spec then after the valuation pop up defect class will get popped up. You can select any one of the defect class

Single Result Recording

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where the MIC should be created for single result recording, but user wants to record less number or results in system . This can be achieved by putting either no scope or less scope.But once we record a less number, grays of the Inspected samples to lesser number according to the sample results entered.
The requirement is Single result recording, but the inspected samples should be able to be modified irrespective of the no. of results entered.
For egs.
Sample size to inspect: 100 (single values)
User enters values for only 5 out of 100.
But user should be able to specify the Inspected samples as 100. (this is because in this scenario they would record only the results out of spec results, if in spec.results they don't want to record the results data)
Alternate is to use Summarized result recording, but it does not allow to record individual records for these out of spec. results.

Use digital signature for this scenario. SPRO > Envt>Central functions>Auth.Mgt>Dig Sign. In this signature method for results recording. All this linked with Material Authorization Group in MM-QM View. Read more on digital signature. You will get the solution.

Want to change the Result Recording Result

Hi All,
I have a problem Please help me out or suggest me is it possible to do-
Result Recording is done and saved for a particular lot and result is accepted and i did UD for that and accepted as well as i posted to un-restricted stock with Acceptance and saved.
Now my client want to chance the result and reject it and post it to blocked stock again do UD.
This is our normal requirement here.

Hi,
You have to explain your client the process and its pros and cons, once you give UD and post the stock then how will that be canceled. Keeping apart SAP, in actual domain practice also when you accept the lot you can't reject it on same challan, you have to so separate process.
Here best way is to assign 08 Insp type to that material and create the lot using 322 movement type (MB1B) and again reinspect and post it to block and send back to vendor. This is only if you need to record results again, otherwise you can directly post from unrestricted to Block stock using movement type 344 i.e. from unrestricted to block then purchase person will send it back to Vendor. You can raise notification to keep record of this movement.

Error While saving the tabulator results recording(QE71)

Hi Experts ,
through the Tcode QE71 i'm recording the inspection points and the inspection results but while Saving the recorded results , the system is giving error as " No Orignal values " and also as "inspection Pt 99999 of the Characteristics .....is not avaialable".
What might be the possible reason for the same. But when i'm entering the results through the Tcode QE01 all the results are saved and closed.
Can anybody help me out of this.

Can you call your web service using jQuery not in an app successfully?
As the error message suggests, it might be an error on the server side.
I suggest you do a simple test to check whether you can call the web service using jQuery.
