Block Third-party Wifi?

Hi Experts
Is there any way to Block Third-party wifi by WLC?
e.g.
Here is wifi in our company and I can also received wifi signal from outside, like Mcdonald, Starbucks.
I don't want my staff to connect wifi from outside.
So, do we have any method to prevent to connect such wifi?
How about following function?

Haha... Leo cracks me up... He should of been a lawyer:)
Rogue wireless is and always will be part of wireless and you have to deal with it. Legal will not know anything about wifi and the bottom line is that you should not use the contain feature at all. Deal with the excess wifi out there and tweak you config and wireless profiles.

  • Block third party tools in oracle

    hello !
    everyone
can anyone tell me how to block toad from accessing data in oracle database
presently i am using oracle 9 release 2

Oracle isn't responsible if you have a bad experience with a third party tool (i.e. the tool doesn't do what you want it to do as well as you'd like it to do it). If the database is the source of the problem, Oracle support is happy to help diagnose and resolve the problem, though you may need to provide a test case that doesn't involve the third party tool. It's certainly not a violation of any license agreements to use a third party tool unless you allow the tool to do something you're not allowed to do (i.e. access the AWR repository if you haven't licensed that access).

  • Third Party WiFi Card

Hello - I've recently purchased leopard and put it on one computer - it's quite nice and everything worked almost immediately, but I'm very reluctant to put it on my second computer, as the second one has a third party airport card - the driver which powers this 802.11g Proxim card is Orangware v3.3, who say that they will not be supporting Leopard. Does any one know of other drives that may work, or have they tested the Orangware driver? any info will be appreciated....

The Sonnet card can be used to connect to the same wireless networks as those you would be able to access with the AirPort card.

please block anything at all that comes from, cdn.sendori.com, or searchassist.com. have these companies bought off all web browser people, (including Firefox) so they can display ads?
their totally annoying disruption of web viewing is not going to succeed, any company I ever see advertised via either of these will be boycotted to the greatest extent of capability.
code says (set cookie), obviously Firefox settings to block cookies does not stop the set cookie code.

  • Third party cookie block on Internet Explorer

I blocked third-party cookie access on IE, now every time I try to open IE, a window pops up asking to allow or block. Regardless which choice I make or how many times, it will not go away. I can not access the tools to change it with the cookie window open, and I can not close the cookie window. Help!

    Hello wendy1960,
Since you are unable to access the menus in Internet Explorer it can be a little tricky. Microsoft does have a tool available that allows end users to do a lot of fixes on their computers, there is even one that is specifically designed to reset internet explorer to the default settings.
Try running the tool to see if it helps resolve your issue. You can find it on this page

  • In Windows XP I have lost control over third party cookies

I bought a refurbished computer with Windows XP. But now I have noticed there is no control over cookies in Firefox. In Windows Vista there was 'block third party cookies' there was 'state which websites to permanently block' or 'allow' and even then I was only using Firefox... Now there is nothing. On top of that none of the "cookies control" add-ons for Firefox seem to be any good at all. I don't know what to do!
Why would Firefox change with Windows XP?? I can see with IE of course but Windows operating system has nothing to do with Firefox, if you know what I mean.

  • Third party cookies in Safari

Safari's been acting a little funky since the last update Version 5.1 (6534.50), so I've been checking on different settings. I have Safari set to block third-party cookies, pop-ups, etc.. and I set it to Private Browsing. Yet when I checked on the cookies that were stored, there were 67 different tracking cookies and 65 of them were third-party/advertisers. (This was after deleting all cookies previously so was just from visiting maybe a dozen primary sites, never clicking on any ads or links).
So what's Safari's problem with this? Why doesn't Safari actually do what it says it's doing?
    Thanks for any insight.

Safari and cookies management needs improvement as noted from the ASC forum search for Safari / Cookies here.
What I'm trying to say is that you would have better luck managing cookies in another browser.

  • Safari third party cookies

As one of the few user who still uses hotmail, I've got a problem with Safari logging me out on live.com.
I have chosen to accept only cookies from site I navigate to, thus blocking cookies from third party websites.
Now, for logging out on live.com, it seems to be necessary to ALWAYS accept cookies, including third party cookies.
Hotmail uses cookies from passport.com, not live.com, for tracking whether you have already logged out or not.
This is quite annoying, for I can't properly log out without temporarily changing my cookies settings.
Is there any way (preferences, terminal, application, ...) to custom accept cookies?
So I can still block third party cookies, but always allow cookies from passport.com?
I know this is a standard functionality of Firefox and even IE, why is it missing in Safari?
    I'm using Safari 5.1 on osX 10.7.1
    Thanks in advance,
    Gert Milis

Downloaded and installed it, but it doesn't seem to have any affect on the "third party cookies" problem.  I go to the "bill pay" section of the credit union website and it just shows a blank page.
So do I have to set Safari to "ALWAYS" accept third party cookies no matter what, and then use this other program to delete the hundreds that will be accepted that I don't want?  That seems very cumbersome.  As a long-time Mac user, I am sort of shocked at how little thought seems to have gone into cookie-handling.  I would also figure someone might have written an "extension" to give more user control over how cookies are dealt with.
Safari has frustrated me greatly so far.  There have been other issues as well, such as some "embedded" videos on some webpages just don't even show up,..there is nothing clickable to "make it load" or anything...just a blank spot on the page.  Other webpages formats are completely screwed up by Safari...it puts text and headers in wrong places, and won't display some pages at all.

  • Why am I getting redirected to the MSN homepage (when logging out of hotmail) with third party cookies not enabled? And why are exceptions to cookies being cleared in private browsing mode?

I have the latest version of Firefox, I use Private browsing with Allow cookies but not third party cookies. Recently I have begun to be redirected to the MSN homepage after logging out of hotmail and whenever I add MSN cookies to the exceptions in cookies the list gets deleted. Can anyone tell me why, when blocking third party cookies should prevent that?

    Two initial thoughts:
    (1) If you look at the cookie names and content in the View Cookies dialog, are they the ordinary scramble of different names and values, or do they look like "opt-out" cookies? Some security software or add-ons may restore opt-out cookies after you clear them.
    (2) If you have any extensions that make requests to those sites, it's possible they are bypassing private browsing mode, although I would hope not. Hmmm.
Unfortunately, unlike history where you can see the time that an entry was added, it is difficult to figure out when a cookie was set. But there are many cookie add-ons that might provide insight.
Alternately, you could go directly to the cookies.sqlite database using the SQLite Manager extension. This is on the nerdy side, but manageable.
    (1) Install SQLite Manager from: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/sqlite-manager/
    (2) The extension adds an item to the Tools menu. If you do not normally use the classic menu bar, tap the Alt key to display it temporarily or press Alt+t to pull down the Tools menu.
SQLite Manager may suggest a particular database, particularly on your second and later uses. You can skip that and it will open a new window.
    (3) On the toolbar (first screen shot), choose the cookies.sqlite database and click Go. This should display the database entries for all your cookies (second screen shot).
    (4) Select the following SQL query text:
SELECT host AS Site, datetime(creationTime/1000000,'unixepoch') AS Created, datetime(expiry,'unixepoch') AS Expires
    FROM moz_cookies
    ORDER BY creationTime, host
    (5) Click the Execute SQL tab, paste the query, then click Run SQL. You should get a list of sites in order by the date their cookies were set (third screen shot).
Are the dates all fresh? If they are older, something may be rolling back your cookie clearing.

  • Third Party Cables

Have apple block Third Party Cables from working with ios 8?

I have one third party cable that will still charge an iPhone 5 running iOS 7, but will not charge an iPhone 5 running iOS 8 giving the message about "unsupported device..."  The interesting thing is that if I plug that same cable into my iPad Air or iPhone 6, both running iOS 8, neither of those even acknowledge that a cable is connected.  There is a software component, and a hardware component.  I just gave the cable to someone who has an iPhone 5 running iOS 7 and everyone is happy for now...

  • Third party routers that need no firmware update

What are the best third party WiFi routers with LAN ethernet ports that need no firmware update to work with 10.4.8 and Windows XP?

Actually the extra ethernet ports is paramount.
Otherwise you don't know who is being secure to
whom. You end up having two routers to setup for
    configuration of security. Simplicity is
important, since I want to be able to help set it up
for the friend, and forget it.
?? That doesn't make any sense - I think you're missing something fundemental here. The extra ethernet ports are on the LAN side of the secure connection. The firewall in the router isolates the internal, LAN network (wireless + ethernet) from the external WAN (aka the big bad internet). Whether or not you have a switch attached to one of the LAN ports makes no difference, security-wise - you are in control of the devices connected to the LAN side of the router. WEP/WPA/WPA2 security controls who is able to connect to the wireless LAN.
From a security standpoint, there is ABSOLUTELY no difference between buying a router with eight lan ports and buying a router with four lan ports plus plugging in a five-port switch to one of the lan ports. It's exactly the same thing.
What you don't control is the WAN side of things - the internet itself. You certainly wouldn't want to connect the switch to the WAN port on the router, at least not unless you wanted to run, say, a web server that is exposed to the internet itself. This wouldn't be a good idea in any case - there are better ways to set this up as well (either by setting up a DMZ, or by setting up port forwards)
There is absolutely no reason why you would want or need two routers for this setup - this is only an issue for extremely large networks.
The WRT54G has 1 WAN port and four LAN ports. You can have four hardwired devices (computers, printers, switches, etc) on these LAN ports - they are protected from the internet by the firewall in the router. You can also have any number of wireless devices on this same router; these, as well, are on the LAN side of the router, and are therefore protected.
Adding a switch to the LAN side of the router has absolutely no impact on security. No additional routers would be required.

  • How to extend a wifi network of third party router with TC 4th generation?

After searching the communities for a while, I did not find a definitive answer on the following question:
    - I recently bought a 4th generation Time Capsule 2TB (MD0322/A), that I also want to use as an extension for our existing wifi network.
    - This wifi network is maintained by a Sitecom Wireless 300N XR Gigabit Router. Router is set to work over 2.4 GHz (B+G+N) because of several non-N-wifi devices in the network. The channel in use is currently 11.
    - This router provides so called WDS functionality, i.e. the ability for other wifi access points to act as a seamless extension of the basic wifi network (using the same SSID).
    - The security settings in the router are WPA2 Mixed, with a password in plain ASCII.
    - There seems to be no way to set different security levels for WDS-connections versus normal AP (access point) connections. If WDS is enabled, the security settings of the AP-mode are extended to the WDS connection.
I have set the Sitecom router to enable WDS, and added the MAC-address of the TC in the configuration of this router.
When configuring the Time Capsule, with Airport Utility 5.5.3, I can select the option to use TC to extend an existing network, and I can select the network of choice using the WPA personal or WPA/WPA personal security. However, the TC does not succeed in extending the network, and reports this back. If I manually configure the TC and select the network of choice, Airport Utility reports back that the selected network cannot be extended.
I have read several times in other posts that Time Capsule can only connect to third party routers via WDS using WEP-authentication, but these posts were quite old. I was wondering if this is still the case, or that Apple has updated this functionality in newer versions of TC, and thus there could exist a trick to connect to a WDS using WPA.
    I really would appreciate suggestions

Airport can not be used to extend a WiFi created by a non-Apple box.
You need to turn off the radio in the router (shut down the existing WiFi).  Purchase TWO Airport Express units.  Connect one to the router with an Ethernet cable.  Configure that one as your primary WiFi network and then use the second Express as the extender.
You need to locate the second Express where it receives a decent WiFi signal.  Too far away and it has nothing to extend.  Too close and it doesn't buy you anything.  Before you plug in the second Express, check to see where the primary WiFi disappears completely.  My personal WAG is that you want to locate the second Express 2/3 the distance to that point.
If you use Airport Utility to configure the units, it's a snap.  In fact, if you configure the primary first and the extender second, AU will default to exactly the settings that you want.
By the way, I refereed to the Express because it's less expensive than the Extreme and you didn't indicate any need for the Extreme features.
