As Randy Landry1 says, Google for "silent ringtone", download and install on you iPhone as a ringtone.
Now create a contact for the offending phone number. Assign the contact to the silent ringtone and set no vibrate.
When that number calls it will not ring, nor vibrate. It will light up the screen, but if you do not see that, it will not bother you. They could leave voice mail, but that is easily deleted.
And if it is a situation where the are violating the do not call list, you can use the missed call log to report the number to the FTC.
Also, if the calls are abusive or threading, and the leave a voice mail, you something to show the police.

Is there any call blocking app that can make rules based on starting number of caller. For example, accepting all call that start with "+", "00", "01", "02", etcc

As far as I am aware, there are no apps for un-jailbroken phones that can block calls, as legit third-party apps are not allowed to changed core iOS features.

I have been looking for an app which blocks calls . there are a few in the market but these are like really crap and they dont work. i dont want to have to resort to changing my number. my service provider is not able to block a number, the only way to do that is by going to the police. which i dont want to do , or change my number which i dnt want to do either.

Why aren't number-blocking apps allowed?

I want to block a number. I also want to block all unidentified numbers. As a female, it is sometimes necessary to screen calls.
I've been all over looking for a blacklist app of some sort but the only thing I can come up with is Apple has banned such apps on their phones.
I don't want advice on alternative methods of blocking, I just want to know why. What is the rationale? What possible good does such a ban do for Apple?

My question is, once again, why won't Apple allow such an app? They do exist, why not here on the iPhone?
My answer once again - 3rd party apps don't have access to private iOS APIs for security and other reasons. Such a function would need to come direct from Apple.
Paying $5 each to block out every unwanted number seems silly when there are, indeed, apps that can and do do this.

Firewall Blocks App Store?

We have an extremely limiting firewall here where I work called SonicWall (I think that's the name). It seems to block access to the app store when I try to access it from my iphone. I can get on it just fine if the wifi is off. What is the address or domain that the iphone app store looks up? If I appeal to the gods of our IT department, the might make an exception for this if they know what to unblock.

There was another post like this earlier, from South Africa, I think. The issue is likely not with your phone, it's with Apple's servers. Nothing you can really do but wait for Apple to sort it out.

ScanLife block APP Store...

I try make download it ScanLife Barcode to my Iphone4 and now I don't get exit.
When I try access the APP store block and show the message "Download now.... ScanLife Barcode Reader - QR Code & UPC Scanner begining at be dowload now" and one button to OK... but are block... nothing happens...

Tap Settings > General > Restrictions
If Restrictions is enabled make sure Installing Apps is switched OFF.

Keyword Blocking App/software

I have a very young son who has been checking out inappropriate sites. I blocked access to those sites by using hostfiles but just to be extra secure, I'd like to block some keywords also.
Can one suggest an app/software that I can use to block keywords so any page associated with them wont load?
I tried K9 and CutX free trial and was NOT impressed one bit with neither. I would rather use an app that's free but IF the product works well, I wouldn't mind paying a licensing fee for it.
Would appreciate any suggestions.

EA6500 and Blocking Apps/Blocking Ports

So I bought the EA6500 yesterday, to replace my E3200.
Formerly, with the E3200, I was able to block applications on the router admin page, without blocking all internet access, under the "Access Restrictions" Tab. I could create access policies that allowed internet access to specific devices, while blocking port ranges/protocols for specific applicatons. while this didn't work for Skype, which jumps from one port to the other until it finds an open one, it worked perfectly for World of Warcraft. the primary target of my restrictions.
in common with the old setup for the E3200, the new cloud login allows me to block internet access completely to a device. it also allows me to block websites to my heart's content, an improvement upon the old system, which stopped at four. but to my great surprise, it will not allow me to specify port blockages for specific apps for specific devices.
amazingly, hile the new EA6500 is blessed with the added capability of actually recognizing applications by name, *it is only to give them greater priority*. the Media Prioritization tab lets you give a ton of your bandwith to specific apps, but won't let you throttle or block them.
Is there some way to work around this? Some alternative firmware? again, I don't want/need to block all internet access to a particular computer. I only need to block some apps (World of Warcraft, and Skype, possibly some torrents) by closing some ports.
Is this possible?

Microsoft Word 2013 Blocking Apps

For the last couple of months I have been working on a project that uses Office 365 Napa task pane to create a task pane app for Microsoft Word 2013.
Things were working fine until last week when I tried running the app and after the normal process it said "App was blocked. Untrusted apps from the internet are blocked by default." I didn't change any privacy settings over the
last week so I don't know why it started blocking it now. I even went back to one of my older projects that worked and it was also blocked. My other group members are having the same issue also. Any help?

Search for QuickOffice or Documents to Go. To get editing abilities you are probably going to have to pay for an application.

Block app ad pop ups

How can I stop Safari pop up ads for my iPad air? Pop ups are for apps and it redirects me to various app stores. My Safari block pop ups is already activated; have reset my iPad numerous times; cleared cookies and data; cookies blocked from third party advertisers and it still no help.

If you're getting ads while browsing sites that should not contain ads, that's going to be a network problem of some kind.
More likely, though, you're getting ads that are normal for the sites you're visiting, in which case you should take this as a sign that those sites are crap and should be avoided. Alternately, if you're getting pop-up ads in certain apps, you just need to either buy the full, ad-free version of that app or quit using the app.

Number blocking app?

Someone is calling and texting me using one of the phone number disguising apps. Anyone know how I can find out who it is and how to stop it?

Hi jmh1583! I would be so unnerved after getting calls like that! Caller ID is very helpful in allowing you to screen or even block unwanted calls. I wish that I had a way to get around “spoofing” a false number, but I regret that I don’t. I recommend allowing calls from unknown numbers to go unanswered for the time being. In my experience, most people performing such acts will give up and move on once they’re denied the pleasure of disturbing you. If you’d rather not wait any longer, you may also consider changing your number and sharing the new one with only your most trusted sources. Group policies blocking app explorer apps

We're using windows GPs to prevent students from running all exes (except those on the "Allowed app list") and this works great with Application Window (nalwin.exe) because it's on the allowed list, and all apps are opened as a child process of it.
However, we're now using Application Explorer (nalview.exe) to distribute apps to users on the desktop. I've added nalview.exe to the allowed apps list thinking it would open apps on the desktop as child processes, but this is not the case, the apps will not open. I do know there is a "middle man" process launching the app since the apps, Internet Explorer for example, will not open even if I add it to the allowed apps list.
I'm not sure how to find out the process, does anyone have any ideas?
