Blocked by BlackBerry

Hi there
Since Monday I was blocked by BlackBerry after doing a transaction with a thirdparty Application (Total Conquest from Gameloft) - I can do transactions on my Q10 with the same card details and it is only on the Z10 that I am block to do transactions.
I did not receive an email from Blackberry that my account was suspended (such as with my bank account). Please unblock my account
Regards
George

Nobody here can do anything with your account. You'll have to contact your wireless service provider, and if necessary, have them escalate your case to BlackBerry.
That said, I'm not aware that BlackBerry blocks any transactions with anyone. It is likely your service provider.

  • My Q10 got Pin blocked by Blackberry !

    Hello gúys,
    First post here.
Last week my friend got a Q10 from local seller (we are in Vietnam) for around $750. After using it for 3 days, the Q10 got blocked by Blackberry. He got no access to the phone and the screen only showed a message: Device Pin Blocked.
He still can make and take some phone calls, but nothing rather than that. Any one got this issue yet? and any solutions available ? Your information will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hey q3rista,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
If the PIN is blocked you will be able to send and receive SMS messages and make phone calls but there will be no data access.
For more information on why it was blocked, please contact your network service provider.
    Cheers.

  • Call Blocker for blackberry

I recently purchased the Call Blocker program for blackberry because I was receiving harassing phone calls from someone with a "Private Number". My cell service provider said they couldn't do anything about  it so I was forced to get this program. The program cuts off all my long distance callers after 1 ring and doesn't  block the little weasel from leaving me voicemail. In my  opinion this program is worthless to me. Am I doing something wrong with this program? Please help. I've had to change my phone # again and can't advertise it on my jewelry website

    Hello,
This thread contains all there is concerning your unfortunate situation:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-software/Lost-or-Stolen-BlackBerry-What-to-...
Given how important the data on your BB is, we can only hope that you were using a device lock password, for that will ensure that your data is indeed protected. If you did not use that, well...what can I say...good security capabilities can be provided, but it requires that the human actually use them in order to be effective.
    Good luck!

  • Why Apple does not provide for call block / blacklist function on iphone?

If Apple frowns upon jailbreaking the iPhone, why not AT THE LEAST endorse and make available third-party application that can provide a decent call block / blacklist function (like the Call Blocker for BlackBerry)?
Can an Apple representative provide feedback pls?
[Most telcos do not provide call-screening as a value-add service. Even if they do, a more cost-effective method is still the better option.]

Have you asked your service provider if they offer any call blocking service? I know here in the USA, AT&T does, although they do charge $4.99/month for the service (it is part of a parental control package that allows control of both numbers that can be blocked from calling you, and numbers that your iPhone can call to).
On-phone black list apps typically work by using caller id info and looking it up against the apps own database of numbers you've entered. So your phone still rings at least once, as the phone needs to allow a brief connection for the app to get the caller id info before disconnecting a number flagged for blocking. There really is no way to truly block calls from the phone itself, you need your service provider to be on board with the idea, so they can dis-allow the call at the switch and truly block it from ever reaching your phone.

  • Can't sync iCal with Blackberry since 10.6.6 OS update

My Blackberry Storm used to sync just fine with my iCal and Address Book. After I installed Snow Leopard recently, the next sync took a long time, but worked fine. I installed the most recent OS update and now I can't sync the Calendar. The sync process starts, then I get a message that says there was an error during sync, to try it again. It goes ahead and syncs the Address Book just fine. Then I try syncing again. Same error message.
Oh, and another difference I notice now. When I connect my BB to my laptop, nothing happens. My computer doesn't acknowledge that a device has been connected. If I go into Applications and launch the Blackberry Desktop Software, the device suddenly shows up in my Finder window like always (all this used to happen automatically when I connected the Blackberry to the laptop).
Is it a coincidence that this is happening after I installed the most recent Snow Leopard update? Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions for a simple fix (I'm not terribly expert, so please keep instructions simple)? Thanks.

I've had the same problem. Apple chat representative said there's nothing to be done. They've designed the new calendar to not sync with Blackberry. They want everyone to buy an iPhone, too. I was told that there's no way to go back to the old iCal. In short, Apple rep was really uncooperative and did everything to defend Mac's decision to block out Blackberry. Needless to say, I was really disappointed in them. Considering going back to pc just because of this incident.

  • What happens to sensitive information if your Blackberry is lost?

I have an 8830 World Edition and I love it. I was excited about moving to a Storm, so I asked my company's IT guy if he'd heard any news about it. He informed me that the company feels that Blackberrys are a security risk and that we will block all Blackberry usage beginning "very soon." He went on to say that if someone were to lose their phone (or be terminated), that the company needs a way to remotely wipe all data off the phone immediately. As we can't currently do that, they want us to move towards a solution that does allow them to do that. We don't have an on-premise (server) set up because we're not large enough and maybe that would've helped us. I started to get very upset about this information because I don't relish the idea of going to another platform. So, I wanted to see if anyone has any information on this. The Blackberry is the number one smartphone in the world. How could my company be the only one with such a concern? Are there options I can tell our IT people to explore (other than installing a Blackberry server because I'm 99% certain they won't do that)?

OM*G! If your IT guy thinks the BlackBerry isn't secure enough, then I guess your company will be stuck with stone tablets and chisles!
There is NO Mobile Email device - let me repeat - NO, NONE, DOES NOT EXIST - that is more secure than a BlackBerry.  Of course to insure this security, you do need to either trust that people will at least protect the device with a password, or have them on a BES where you can force the policy.
This isn't the "security" password like on a Windows Mobile device which displays all your reminders while the device is locked, or an iPhone which displays who's calling you while the device is locked at which point you can just tap the notice and you've got access to the entire device.
Once a BlackBerry is password protected, you have 10 tries to unlock the device.  Once you've entered the wrong password 10 times, ALL DATA IS WIPED - COMPLETELY.
We won't even get into how all data can be encrypted - including the SD card.
Frankly, any IT person who would say such a thing can NOT be very aware of the Mobile Device environment!
And yes, you can remotely wipe the device.  Of course, the device needs to be connected to a BES, but in order for any mobile device to be wiped remotely it has to still have it's connection with a server you can send the command from.

Thanks pogster for advice I've contacted Apple and here is the reply i got from them
    Thanks for choosing Apple.
    Dear Parvinder,
Thank you for your reply and for the additional information that you’ve provided, I understand that you are seeing unauthorized charges on your iTunes account. As a customer myself, I can appreciate your concern to make sure money is accounted for and spent wisely.
Parvinder, there is nothing to worry about, as I have reviewed your account, I found out that the charges were not an actual charge, it is simply a test to confirm that your credit card account is active and has credit available to accommodate transactions.
I've decided to post the apple reply to help other who have doubts regarding the same problem, hope this solves the queries/doubts.

  • Country Issue

I was trying to use my Playbook to watch the Daily Show, while traveling and getting the feed from my bluetooth-connect Blackberry phone. The website refused to display the video because they thought I was not in the United States. Is there a setting on the Blackberry/Playbook I should reset? As far as I can tell, both devices say they are in the U.S. ... thanks.

No, he's connected to his BlackBerry for data service. BlackBerry data plans go through RIM's NOC in Canada. If you check the IP address when browsing a website with a BlackBerry it comes through as one of RIM's IP addresses, registered in Canada. If the website blocks Canadian IP's from viewing something it will likely block the BlackBerry. I assume you'd get the same error message with just the BlackBerry too (without the Playbook even in the loop).

    What shall i do now?
I tired with and without simcard also tried diffrent wifi connections but none helped

    Hi,
thanks for your comment, actually I tried several ones even without hotspot, but it didn't work, however my problem resolved while I got out of country and tried anothe hotspot WiFi and it is very quickly doen and I passed agreement page.
simply country IP was blocked in Blackberry servers, it means anyone want to connect from IRAN IP can not pass agreement pafe in initial setup.

    Hi everyone,
I am the new kid on the block with blackberry. I have a blackberry 8300 smartphone but I am have the following issues using it:
    1. I can send out email from the blackberry email I set up on my blackberry through my network provider, I can not receive any email to the account.
    2. I am unable to add my Lycos.com email address to the blackberry,
    3. I am unable to download any 3rd party app on my blackberry, I get a message that the IT policy on my phone does not permit me to download third party app.
I have spoken to my network operator several times about this issue but no joy. Any idea on how I can resolve this, will be appreciated.
