Blocked Contacts Getting Thru iMac Messages App

Hi all,
When I "block" a Contact on either my iPhone or iPad, the "block" works on those devices, but the block doesn't extend to the Messages App on my iMac -- so I still receive texts from someone I've blocked through the Messages App on the iMac. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have a solution? All thred devices have the latest iOS versions.

I've been having the same issue. I checked the Skype app on my desktop and he's blocked, but I still get notifications on my phone. I can't see the messages on either version when I check, but I can see them and reply to them on Microsoft Office online. I clicked the block contact button about five or six times and haven't really seen it do anything, so I'm gonna guess the button there just exists to look pretty or something. Because of this, I'm not sure if I should call Skype support or Microsoft Office Support about it.

Go onto all iPods, and turn on "Restrictions" and disable installing apps. The apps do auto download, and the only way around the messages problem is to make 3 Apple IDs. When installing apps, it will ask for a "restrictions" password, and you can enter that.

Getting the default messaging app back

i have a nokia e5-00. .bought it a few years back. .a month ago, i installed sms2.0 live app as the msging app. .it's done fine so far nw, bt i ws trying to get the default messaging app back but cant find a way to do so. There is no option to uninstall this app as it has nw become the native app for texting. Any help in this regard would be much appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Did you try uninstalling by going to settings>application manager>installed apps>select app>select>options and select uninstall?

Tap and hold the text you want to copy, then tap Copy.

Is it possible to display contact pictures in the messaging app?

My dad was wondering if it's possible to show a contact's picture when he is texting them so that he doesn't accidentally text the wrong person. I didn't think it was possible, but hey, no harm in asking. No, but if going to the trouble of selecting the contact in Contacts each time before composing and sending a new message, make sure the correct person's name is selected in Messages which is also available in the header bar when a contact's messaging conversation is selected.

I can't get my Verizon Messaging app to work.

It is a Galaxy S3 and it is updated.
I have taken out the SIM card, the battery, restarted multiple times and even tried in Safe Mode. The app has been freezing ever since I updated my phone 2 or 3 weeks ago. It says "Messaging is not responding"

Eris Contacts in Messaging App not showing up since 2.1 update

When I had 1.5 on my Eris, when I would start to type a name into to 'To:' field, it would find the name I was typing and I could select it to send the message to. Now since switching to 2.1 it doesn't brng up my contacts anymore. This is a total pain in the butt... I don't like Handcent, and I refuse to pay Chomp to get rid of the awful ads. Is anyone else havign this problem with populating contacts in the stock messaging app?

Nope...you've got it right. If you log into AppWorld/BBID on a different BB, but use those existing credentials, the BB that is registered to AppWorld will shift to the new BB you are then logging in from, and all records in AW will shift to the new BB as well.

Saved contact from Messaging app but now showing in address book?

I got an sms message from a new number so i saved it from there to my address book on the iPhone 3GS. I'm slightly confused now as I have the contact named in my messaging app but the contact is now showing up in the address book? Can someone explain to me why this is the case?? Thanks

How can I distinguish between iMessages and SMS messages in the iOS 7's "Messages" app?

I often chat with the same contact using both services, but I just have a duplicate contact thread in the "Messages" app, which I cannot distinguish unless I go into the thread itself and check to see whether the conversation is blue or green. Is there a way to distinguish between the two services? If so, how?

Verizon Message App & Integrated Messaging

Summary of problem: Have 2 phone lines on account. Both phones have their own separate account login user ID and password. Have 2 separate wireless iPads.
Several weeks ago I installed the Verizon Message application on my iPad and everything worked great. I am the account holder. I was so happy to find this application. I then tried to install the application on my wife's iPad and encountered problems. Downloaded the app to iPad, put in second phone line number, belonging to wife who is designated Account Manager, requesting text message authentication. Received texted code and entered in the app. Told app to authenticate and log in. App sends authentication then returns an error. 1st Error message says "Error OK" then second message comes up saying "Disconnected - This device has been disconnected from the Integrated Messaging service. D0 you wish to browse your messages offline or erase all messages from the device and reconnect?
Choices: Browse Offline? Erase & Disconnect? Neither choice gives any result.
Numerous requests both through voice and text ended up with much trouble shooting and finally a first trouble ticket being initiated. This trouble ticket # unknown was closed with no trouble found. Again after numerous texts, chats, and voice contact, another trouble ticket #removed was issued on 12/21/13.This ticket generated several texts with tech's trying to resolve problem and as far as I know the ticket is still open pending resolution. I have been out of town and not heard anything further regarding the status of this ticket. The problem still exists. Have not been able to contact Verizon through chat or voice as they are always busy lately.
Additionally, the second phone line is unable to log into the Integrated Messaging web app in My Verizon using its own user ID and PW. I also downloaded the mobile version of this application to the second phone and experienced the same error messages.
Would like to hear from others who have this problem and any input they may have regarding the issue. I realize that the holidays sidetracked a lot of people, but this is really getting old. Will continue to try to contact tech support.

How do I permanently delete contacts from my text message log? It still shows old contacts once I've removed them from my phonebook

i know that!! After you delete them and then compose a new text it is still there. Basically you know when you send an email to someone and do not store them it still auto populates their name. This is what happens with my phone. I Google this issue and learn some knowledge about data eraser tips. Maybe most people still don’t know that actual contents of file are not really deleted when performing simple deletion operation on your iPhone or other devices. But they are just marked for deletion and not shown in the file system of your iOS device. The actual data are still physically present on your iPhone. For iOS system, the only way to completely erase the data is to overwrite the original contents by using iPhone data eraser app. this is the guide on how to permanently delete contacts on iPhone.
The same thing happens to me, but it doesn't require deleting a contact. When I delete/replace a contact's number, the Messages.app still autocompletes the number with the contact's name and references it as "other".

Notifications from Blocked Contacts on Windows Phone 8.1

Hello, I am experiencing the following issue: blocked contacts can send me messages. On the desktop client and on the mobile client the contact is not visible on the Contact List and the messages do not show. However, the Windows Phone 8.1 client still sends me notifications from that contact! There are no help topics about it. How do I deal with this issue? When you run Lync Logging Tool, check you select Mcx logging component for the Logging Options selection.
Please also check if others users have the same problem.

Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account.
