Blocked Contacts showing as "top contacts"
I don't know why but blocked contacts are suddenly showing up in the Contacts pane under Skype Home. There is no way to remove them or delete them. I have the latest version of Skype installed.

Yes I did. Then as soon as I restarted all these contacts appeared on my main age. Some of the a bit
near the knuckle too. I reckon my wife thinks I have an account with the local brothel. You just can't get rid of them.

Why don't all of my contacts show in my contact list?
when i'm writing a text i can add contacts by typing in their name in the search bar at the top, however alot of these copntacts dont show up in my contact list
my contact list only shows 68 contacs however there should be more like 150 in there! can anybody help as this is really frustrating when i need to look for a particular contact!!!!Ahh.. I think I misunderstood your issue before... In text it timestamps the first message, then if you are going back and forth and back and forth it doesnt fill up with timestamps, but if you wait 15 minutes or more between messages, then the next one will be timestamped.... so if you dont see it timestamped, it was within 15 min of the last message.

"Contacts" show my work contacts even though i don't have it set to sync?
Don't get me wrong, i think this is really cool. I just want to get a grasp of what's going on?
I have a MobileMe account set to sync my Contacts, Calendar, and Emails. I also have a work Exchange account set to sync only Emails.
In OS 2.0, when I opened up the Contacts app, it would only show my MobileMe groups, as it was supposed to. Now, in OS 3.0, when I open up the Contacts app and view all of my groups, it now shows my MobileMe groups AND a group for my work Exchange account. I still have my prefs set to only sync Email for this account.
Any ideas?I now have double entries for all of my contacts since I downloaded 3.0 software to my iPhone 3G. Can't figure out why. I sinc with an IMac and I have mobileme. Looked at my settings on iPhone and I don't see why this is happening. Anyone got a suggestion?

My contact list does not show all my contacts. If I keypad a number not shown in the contacts it does know who that contact is. What can I do to show all contacts? I have 352 contacts in the phone.
Do you have different Groups for contacts? For example, perhaps you have some contacts stored on the device, some associated with a Yahoo account, and others associated with an Exchange account. If you have multiple groups like this, tap the "Groups" button at the top-left corner in Contacts and see if you're looking at only a subset of your contacts. There is an option to view "All Contacts", which summarizes them all for you.

Messages from one of my contacts shows up on my iPhone but not on my iPad. I don't have similar problems with any of my other contacts. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Old contacts showing up in siri and text search results but not in contacts list.
So what I did was this. I had mobile me, and iphone ocntacts as well as contacts on phone. After updating to IOS5, i had tripples of almost all my contacts (but not all). I converted my mobile me to icloud to discover i couldnt use that email under my new official icloud accoutn as my @me.com adress. So what i did was this. I deleted my old mobile me (now icloud account) compleatly from my phone, my iPad and my computer so there is no trace of it. I then went to my new iCloud account (that i will now use as my only icloud account. going to let the old mobile me one just die so i have 1 central spot for all my stuff). Now all my contacts are gone. So to start fresh and just be done with the confusion, i go to www.icloud.com and manually (by hand) re type in all my contacts. I updated some info and changed some names (like nicknames and stuff like that to real names). Basiclly compleatly organizing my contacts and such to the way i want them. Getting rid of poeple i no longer talk to and such. I did it, it syned and all was well. However now here is hte problem.
If i go to spotlight search, or text search, or search with siri, or any type of search function, all of my old contacts are still there and viewable. All the ones i wanted to get rid of are all still there. However, if i go to contacts and look for thoes old contacts, they are not in the contact list (yes iv checked every "group" and also "all contacts" in groups). What i want is to figure out how to get all of these old contacts compleatly deleated so they dont show up anywere on my phone. Especially with siri its making searches and auto calling more difficult because its finding two contacts sometimes that are the same person and asks me to distinguish instead of jsut calling. CAn anybody help?
Sorry for the wall of text, wanted to make sure to give as much info on the specifics as possible so hopefully i can get this resolved. Is this a bug or something i did wrong? can i fix it or do i just have to wait for an update?

Iv since upgraded to iphone 4S and still happening. Also this does NOT happen on my iPad. Only my iPhone.Talked to AppleCare for about an hour. After trying many steps: deleting contacts, re downloading from cloud, disabling Siri and re enabling, even Reset all Settings. Nothing worked. Ended up having to restore the phone via Erase All Content and Settings. That of course fixed it.
Not sure what the issue was. I did have a Mobile Me account before the iCloud migration. For some reason, my contacts would appear in Contacts on the phone and in the cloud only once, but when using Siri it would list 2 or 3 duplicate contacts. Also after we deleted all the contacts on the phone, did an iPhone reset (Home and On/off buttons), my contacts list would show empty. Then I would click on Groups and poof all of a sudden duplicate or triplicate contacts would be in the contacts list.

On my iPhone when I go on phone to view my contacts on the top left corner there is a circle with a arrow ( like a refresh icon ), just want to know what is it?
That's exactly what it does, refresh your contacts. As an example if you add a contact on your Mac or iPad and you use iCloud to sync them altogether, then this can be used to refresh the contacts on your iPhone.

I just purchased the I5, and use the same itunes as my wife. All my wifes contacts showed up on my phone. Is there a way to avoid this?
She needs to call the carrier on her old iPhone and have it removed from her account.
Once she does that you will not be able to use iMessage because that only works Apple to Apple.
You will need to use something else like Skype instead.

i was messing about with my itunes contacts and attempted to sync all my windows live contacts with my iphone, i dont know what setting i have changed but i now have no contacts showing on my iphone, i have tried to restore my iphone but this failed.
Cheers for your Help!The sync process for contact info and calendar events is a bidirectional or true sync process. You can't transfer only contact info and calendar events available on your iPhone only to the supported application on your computer. Contact info and calendar events available in the supported address book and calendar app on your computer and contact info and calendar events available on your iPhone will be synced so the info available on both is identical.
If you have a MM account, you need to sync the supported address book on your computer with your MM online address book first. After confirming your MM online address book matches the supported address book on your computer, follow this by enabling over the air syncing for contact info with your MM account on your iPhone. This will erase all existing contact info on your iPhone and replace it with your MM online address book info, and the same for calendar events.
If you have contact info available on your iPhone that is not available with the supported address book on your computer, you need to sync your iPhone's address book with the supported address book on your computer via the iTunes sync process first. Follow this by syncing the supported address book on your computer with your MM online address book. After confirming the supported address book on your computer matches your MM online address book, enable over the air syncing for contact info with your MM account on your iPhone. After this, your iPhone's address book will be kept synchronized with your MM online address book which is kept synchronized with the supported address book on your computer and vice-versa. -
I have an iPhone 3gs
I suspect that its not just newly created contacts that don't show up in my contacts list, but contacts I added through text message or missed calls. Again, they show up as contacts when I search my iphone for their name. I have never backed up my contacts from any of my mail accounts (people said they were having problem with exchange, and I recently deleted my exchange account). I am not using MobileMe.
When I sync with iTunes, and select Sync Address Book Contacts, I have "All Contacts" selected. The option to select "Selected Groups" is grayed out.
When I look at my groups in my Contacts list App, I am viewing under "All Contacts". There are no other group options.
This is a very annoying problem has anyone officially had it solved??You can, but it's a bit involved and requires using an app. Probably not worth it for only 5 contacts. If you're interested in how you would do this, you would do the following:
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer you will need the “Pro” version.) Use the app to back up the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and set this to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars…tap each of the other accounts you are syncing contacts with and turn off contacts syncing with these accounts (otherwise you will see duplicate contacts on your device).
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from the other accounts back to your device, and to iCloud. -
Is there a way to remove my facebook contacts from my phone contacts list? I had an iphone 4 and it was easy to shut off from teh contacts through the groups link at the top left, but the iphone 5s does not have this feature nor can i figure it out through the settings feature or anything else....HELP please as it is annoying to see all of these contacts!
Hello ymprice91277, let's solve this mystery! To unlink the Facebook contacts go to Settings, Facebook, turn off contacts.
