Blocked contacts still able to contact me!!

I keep being contacted by people who appear as contacts in my contacts list even though I have never accepted them as a contact.
I block them and they appear in my blocked contacts list, then a few days later they appear back in my list of contacts.
All of my privacy settings are set so I am only visible to my contacts and I am not visible on the web.
How can I stop this happening? I thought if I blocked a contact that was it and they would not be able to contact me again.

I blocked contact should never be able to send you messages or call you again.  Can you double check if it is the same username?  It may be possible that they are using another account with the same display name.
moreover, you can report that user to [email protected]

  • Why is a blocked number still able to text me?

I blocked a particular phone number from contacting me yet they were able to send a text message yesterday. What's the deal?

Do you more than one mobile number for that person in your contacts? Could they be messaging you from a second one that you didn't block?
Have you talked to Verizon since this problem started?

  • Blocked Contact still sees when I come online.

I have been wondering about what happens when I block someone, (if it is like other sites where you simply disappear from them completely or what). So I created a second account to see and friended then blocked my main account from the second. I (on the main account) get notifications of the other account coming online and then going offline. Why is it doing that and what is the point if the blocked person can still stalk me (the reason I have someone blocked to start with, now I know they can still see me!!).
I'm on my Alienware X51 desktop, Windows 7 Home Premium, Skype version 7.0.0.102, cable connection to internet modem. I've checked as much as I know how to check, but I want to appear offline ALWAYS even if that other person keeps me on their list, it seems a bit flawed that a blocked contact is merely unable to tell you they're still watching you.
*Edit* I'd like to appear offline always to these BLOCKED people, not to everyone on my list, that is ridiculous and I might as well not have a skype account if the people I want to know I'm online can't tell.

I have read majority of the posts regarding "blocked contacts" and what the "blocked contact sees."  And there appears to be so much confusion.
So, simple question, in year 2015, what Exactly does the blocked contact see once blocked?
Will they see me appearing ON or OFF line from now on?
And will I still be in their contacts list?  (I've read the answer is, "yes, I will appear in their contacts list, but with a ? adjacent to my name).
I just blocked my first contact and would appreciate a complete and official answer.  The confusion here is quite vast.  Plus, several years have gone by since last post from Skype regarding this issue.  You'd think there would be a simple paragraph in guidelines stating exactly what occurs when you block a contact, or when you have been blocked by a contact.
It's not that complicated, but apparently it is because there is no clear & thorough explanation.

  • Blocked contacts able to see that im online?

Hi, i was wondering if someone could help... A while ago i blocked a friend, he messaged me a few days later asking why i hadnt been replying to his messages. When i told him i hadnt been online in a while (as i assumed it would look that way to him.) he told me that i was lying and that he had seen me online the last few days... he also told me that i was online at that time (which was true) and that his message was pending. He then came to the conclusion that i had blocked him. I kinda let it go, figuring maybe he was just trying to call me out. But recently the same thing happened with a different person.... except he just asked why i never replied even though i was always online (via my phone) So, im wondering.... does this happen to a lot of people? and how can i resolve this? i dont want people to know that i have blocked them

Hi, Soybean94, and welcome to the Community,
The online/offline "presence" issue has and continues to be discussed frequently on this Community.  For example, please see this thread (topic):
    http://community.skype.com/t5/Security-Privacy-Trust-and/Skype-invading-and-changing-people-s-online-status/td-p/2932363
That said, please clarify these points:
The issue is that the blocked person still sees the blocker as online.
The blocked contact ought to see you on their contact list with an icon that looks like grey cloud with a question mark inside it, beside your name.
I have the same issue only with 1 contact, but he stays online literally all of the time regardless of being blocked or not. Computer off, not logged into skype on mobile and still ALWAYS online.
When you block a contact, the contact would appear on your active contacts list with an icon beside it that looks like a red cloud with a line through it. unless you remove the contact from your active contact list, which means the contact stays in the background on your blocked contacts list.
If you are reporting that you are not seeing what I have described in both instances, screen shots would be most helpful (be sure no personally identifiable details are shown).  I n in your reply post, please do include the computer or mobile device, its operating system, and what version of Skype you use when you are seeing this behavior
    Thank you,
    Elaine

  • Re: How do I delete blocked contacts appearing on ...

Urgent!!!!  I hope this gets to Microsoft ASAP...  My son who is a minor IS receiving these girlcam requests.... 2 of them so far and they are blocked and we deleted their chat history.  They asked him for his credit card details of all things to verify his age.  They say they are searching him on the members directory.  They shouldn't be able to contact him at all if they are not on his contact list.
Please add age related restrictions to contact usage Microsoft and please fix the above issue of not being able to delete blocked contacts from the home screen.  We cleared the chat history already.
    Thanks.

Hi, Tazzajb, and welcome to the Community,
... and please fix the above issue of not being able to delete blocked contacts from the home screen.
This issue has been fixed; please ensure your son's Skype software is updated: Download Skype  If your son is using v. 6.16, please post back to advise if he is still seeing the pictures or avatars of blocked contacts on his Skype Home window.
    Thank you,
    Elaine

  • Lync 2013 client - Set people to "Blocked Contacts" relationship by default?

We are in the process of implementing Lync Server 2013 (on-premises). We have already implemented one front end pool and one edge pool and successfully tested the basic functionality.  Now we are moving on to configuring the various policies based
on our requirements. One requirement that has come late in the planning is to prevent people from receiving IMs unless they explicitly allow people to IM them and to have the ability to whitelist IMs from people on an individual basis.  This is a feature
that was submitted as a requirement by way of our IT HelpDesk manager.
From what I gather, this could be accomplished if someone had the ability to set the default to the "Blocked Contacts" relationship for everyone instead of "Colleagues".  In my research on how to set that as the default, I found
a setting "ShowManagePrivacyRelationship" in Set-CsClientPolicy.  I created a new per-user client policy called "TEST" and applied it to myself.  Then I set ShowManagePrivacyRelationShip to $true via PowerShell on the TEST policy.
However, even hours after making the change and signing out and back into the Lync 2013 client, I still don't see any change in functionality or new options.
Now, if I instead sign in with the Lync 2010 client, I can indeed see a "Manage Privacy Relationships" option in a drop-down near the right side of the client which takes me to a view where I can see and move "People in my company" and
"People in domains connected to my company" pseudo-contacts from the "Colleagues" relationship to "Blocked Contacts" and this accomplishes exactly what we want to do.
Where can I find the "Manage Privacy Relationship" setting in Lync 2013 client?  If there is no setting called that, how can I accomplish what I am trying to do using Lync 2013?
I would rather not use the Lync 2010 client, as our HelpDesk technicians all use Windows 8.1 and Office 2013.

    David:
Yes, I have all of those relationships categories in Lync 2013.  What I am missing is the ability to set the rest of the organization to
Blocked Contacts by default.  I can do this with the Lync 2010 client using the same user login and the same Lync Server 2013 environment.
The following image demonstrates the location of the Manage Privacy Relationships option I would like to leverage in Lync 2013.  The image is of the Lync 2010 client.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/i0g83i9su9e5zox/Manage_Privacy_Relationships.png
If I click that Manage Privacy Relationships option, I end up on the following screen.  Note that there is a
People in my company object under Colleagues.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/kkatgtoexea7evt/Default_Privacy_Relationships.png
I am able to move that People in my company object to another relationship option.  I moved it to
Blocked Contacts, as you can see below.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/956kw0ih15uksgr/People_In_Company_Blocked.png
As you can see in the following image, after making this change if I do not have a person on my Contacts list, they are unable to IM me.  As you can see in my Lync 2013 client relationships list, no one is in my
Blocked Contacts list yet the Lync Test Account is being blocked due to the fact that I put People in my company there and haven't added them to my Contacts list.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/cue09wjj8tidbau/Blocked.png
After adding the Lync Test Account to my Contacts list, the Lync Test Account is able to IM me.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/nalju5ia980lc30/Unblocked.png
I hope these images help make clear that there seems to be a capability present in the Lync 2010 client that I am unable to locate in the Lync 2013 client.  I can't find this
Manage Private Relationships option anywhere in the Lync 2013 client or any other option that lets me see those People in my company and People in domains connected with my company objects.
With regards to the EnablePrivacyMode option, I am already aware of it and that is not what we are looking for.

  • Used to see blocked contacts on list?

Until recently, I was still able to see a blocked contact in my list.  It had the red circle next to the person's name and picture, but they were still in my contacts.  I did not remove them.  Why did this happen?

I know the desktop Ovi software is still Beta, and the Ovi Mail is too.  I suppose I should have guessed that beta may refer to the entire online account as well, but I think it's been around longer than the desktop software or Mail.
In any case maybe it is not quite as un-secured as it looks.  I logged in at an https site, which took me to Mail, Calendar, etc. in an insecure (http) page but maybe it is behind the "gate" of the secure login page so it is not unsecured from the whole web.  My guess is the Nokia folks probably know what they are doing but I've never done secure things on a non-https page before so it was unusual and surprising.  I'm sure the original poster and I are not the only ones to notice and wonder about it.

  • How to block CONTACT on iMessages for MAc (Mountain Lion)

I know that AIM and other accounts can have "buddies" blocked. But is there a way to block a CONTACT from writing you on iMessages for Mac. I have mountain lion. I blocked this person on my iPhone, but they are still able to send me messages and it comes through on my computer. How do I block a contact on my computer? When I go to Preferences > iMessage account, there are not two tabs at the top that I keep reading about. I have no blocked tab. It just shows the email and phone number that I can get messages from. Can someone please help me get to where I can block CONTACTS, not buddies, from my iMessages on my Mac?

My old Brother printer has churned out 60,000 pages and is still going strong. And it has worked without problems on every OS version since 10.4. That model is no longer being sold, but i would recommend the Brother brand without reservation.

  • Blocked contacts

    Hello,
Today ive encoutered a problem with some contacts in skype. When I logged in there was an open conversation of someone I havent talked to (or cared for) for years, only stating that I have blocked this person. I have not been able to block, unblock, invite or talk to this person.
I went to check the blocked contacts list and couldnt find this person in there, but noticed that (almost) all of my old messenger contacts are in this blocked list. However, they do not appear in my contact list at all. I am able to unblock them through the list of blocked contacts in the settings menu, but they will not show up in my contact list after I do so.
I honestly dont care too much about getting the contacts back (without doing it one by one) but I just wonder why the messenger names i havent seen in years suddenly show up in my blocked contacts list. (Ive recently looked at the list, and it only contained about 10 people, compared to the hundreds now) And ofcourse, the one messenger contact there was suddenly a recent conversation of, only stating that I had blocked this person at a random time I wasnt even online at.
Can anyone explain or fix this? Though Im not looking for a fix as it doesnt actually bother me, I am curious about how and why this happened.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The integration of former Messenger contacts into Skype is not based on your Skype client, but largely happening "server sided" in our infrastructure. We recently changed that integration to more reliably surface also Messenger contact you had blocked earlier.

  • Blocked Contacts for iPhone 6 and the call-waiting distinctive ringtone

Does anyone know if you block a contact on an iPhone 6 and you both have Verizon, will the call waiting distinctive ring still work (The caller hears a ring and beep if you are on the other line)? Or does it only work for non-blocked contacts? Thanks!

        Hi 808iphoneuser,
Unwanted calls can be annoying! Just to clarify, which block are you using? There is a block that comes on the iPhone 6 that can be placed via the device, or have you placed the VZW Call & Message block  http://vz.to/MqEgqB  on that number?
    Thanks,

  • Blocked Contacts Getting Thru iMac Messages App

    Hi all,
When I "block" a Contact on either my iPhone or iPad, the "block" works on those devices, but the block doesn't extend to the Messages App on my iMac -- so I still receive texts from someone I've blocked through the Messages App on the iMac. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have a solution? All thred devices have the latest iOS versions.
    Thx!
    S.

I've been having the same issue. I checked the Skype app on my desktop and he's blocked, but I still get notifications on my phone. I can't see the messages on either version when I check, but I can see them and reply to them on Microsoft Office online. I clicked the block contact button about five or six times and haven't really seen it do anything, so I'm gonna guess the button there just exists to look pretty or something. Because of this, I'm not sure if I should call Skype support or Microsoft Office Support about it.

Re: safari 6.0 flash problem (blocked plug in)
    Jul 26, 2012 7:39 AM (in response to defconnect5)
I have a new MacBook Pro and I followed these instructions, downlonading and installing the new Flash plugin. But when I looked in "/Library/Internet Plugins" there was no folder called "Disabled Plugins".
However, I did see two versions of Flash:
    _Flash Player.plugin with old date
    Flash Player.plugin with todays date
I deleted _Flash Player.plugin and this fixed the problem.

  • Remove contact details from blocked contacts

    Hi, Malcolm,
Not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve?  Could you please kindly post back with more details?  Even if a contact is blocked, and that contact is relegated to your Blocked Contacts list, whatever they typed into their account profile would remain.
    Regards,
    Elaine

    Hi, Malcolm,
a-HA!  Before you do this, please remember that as soon as you un-block a contact, that contact can once again try to send you contact invitations.
There is considerable debate about this here on this message board: in order for Skype to continuously block communications from a contact that is blocked, the contact's account name must remain on your blocked contact list.  Others would prefer to be rid of this list.
In short, you have to un-block the blocked contact, and then you can delete the contact from your contact list.  This FAQ article explains how to un-block a blocked contact:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10488/how-do-i-block-or-report-a-contact-in-skype-for-windows-desktop?
    In the Windows Desktop version,
If you wish to unblock a contact:
In the main menu, select Tools > Options.
In the Skype Options box, select Privacy > Blocked Contacts. A list of blocked contacts is displayed.
Select the contact you'd like to unblock and click Unblock this person.
Right-click on the contact's name now that it is back on your contact list, and then click on Remove from Contacts.
    Done!
    Best regards,
    Elaine

PLEASE I WILL LIKE TO SEE THE LIST OF MY BLOCKED CONTACTS BECAUSE I WILL LIKE TO UNBLOCK SOMEONE THAT I BLOCKED AND DELATED FROM MT ACCOUNT.

Hi, and welcome to the community!
On your computer, go to Tools>Options, click on the privacy tab, then click on blocked contacts. It displays a list of contacts you have blocked and you can unblock contacts from there.
