Blocked from viewing my own website!

This morning my website went live via a GoDaddy domain name I'd purchased, my MobileMe account and iweb'08. All was working fine and I was merrily updating the site and publishing the changes. I was viewing my website using the latest versions of Safari and Firefox on my MacBook Pro and also via IE on my dad's PC. After about an hour of work on my site...Firefox and Safari suddenly started directing me to a GoDaddy parking page and not my website. However, I could still view my website on my dad's PC. I've just checked on my Dad's Mac too using Safari and Firefox on there and I can view it fine. So, why has my laptop seemingly been blocked from viewing my own website? Any ideas?

Hi Tom. Thanks a lot for the reply. I just went to check before posting and both browsers are now letting me view my site from my laptop. Maybe my IP had been blocked because I was viewing the site such a lot this morning whilst tinkering with it. Who know's?! I did also write to godaddy about it.
If it happens again, I'll be sure to put the url and .me details.

  • Blocked From Accessing My Own Website CMS

Hi, I wonder if anyone can shed some light on an odd problem which arose out of the blue two days ago. I operate two iMacs (new types) on a network, with Leopard 10.5.2. We have ADLS broadband, and network using an Airport Express. I have several websites, one of which has a cpanel and is set up with a CMS on the server - to access this, I need to log in to the administrator using a user name and a password. On Sunday afternoon, while working in the CMS online, my admin session suddenly expired and since then I have not been able to log into my own website to work on it. Oddly, my husband's user name and password is also being blocked. Yet, even more oddly, when I log in using either username and password on my husband's iMac, there is no problem! The message from my website is that the username and password are incorrect. I have to use Firefox to work on my website, so after restarting my Mac, I emptied the cache on Firefox, deleted the passwords in key chain, and when none of this work I deleted my old version of Firefox and downloaded a new version. All to no avail. As my husband's computer is able to access the site, I assume that the Airport isn't the problem, but there is something going awry in my Mac. I have had my webmaster check that my Mac IP isn't being blocked by my website - which I think would exclude my Mac from accessing it - but she says everything is fine at her end. She is also not Mac savvy, so if the problem lies in my Mac she can't help. Can anyone suggest anything???

Have you tried clearing ALL private data? It's under the tools menu and make sure you check cookies and saved passwords as well. It could quite likely be pulling credentials from a cookie stored on your machine or from a saved password if FF does not use the keychain (I cant remember if it does).
As an extra troubleshooting test if this doesnt work, you could try either logging into another account, or if none is available create a temporary account to log into and test it from there. This would indicate a preference problem most likely and you could then clear the problem files from your home directory's library.

  • Cannot view my own website!

Prior to delivery of my current Mac I successfully designed and uploaded my band website (mephistos-island.co.uk) using system 9 on a Powermac 7600 using dreamweaver & Internet Explorer 5 as the default browser. Since changing to the new G5 with OSX10.4.6/Safari/DreamweaverMX I am able to see my local site but I cannot access the remote host at all. Oddly enough everyone elses computer can see the website whatever browser they are using but mine cannot see it at all! If I enter the web address into google or enter the http all I get is a blank page and an associated error message saying "Posix error:Permission denied" (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:13) Even using FTP from the system shell I am unable to connect to the remote host. What the **** is going on? It's kind of poor having a band site that I cannot update or improve, help!!

Port 21 is a bad port to host a website on methinks... that port, (22), is supposed to be reserved for "ftp", the normal port for web hosting is port 80, or maybe even port 8080 if your isp blocks port 80 and you were hosting from home, but not sure why they would use port 21 if it wasn't supposed to be an ftp server!?
I know nothing of LCN... the "hosing" was either a mistype/eyesight problem on my part, or some magical 6th sense at work without my knowledge! :-D
As for the Simon fisher thing... try putting "http://rifix.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk", (can't remember where I got THAT from now!), into Network utility, click the Traceroute tab, click Trace... wait..., and today it leads to "194.117.143.76" , which when put into a Browser is redirected to "http://www.benbirchall.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/benbirchall.htm"???
I don't know what I'm doing here either!:-)
I just originally came to these Forums to get an answer to a question myself... and ended up seeing some questions I might be able to help with!
Need to find out more about this port 21 biz though.

  • Using FF 3.6.13 and get 406 error and can't view my own website, other browser work fine

All of a sudden I get this error, 406 Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /postersschool.html could not be found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hi halacious, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Airport & Bluetooth are two separate Interfaces, so that is a bit confusing.
Where is this Website hosted? Locally on your own machine, or on the Internet?
    Any Router involved there?

  • Removing password block from viewing iDisk files

when people click on my iWeb08 site to view files stored on my iDisk, they are prompted to enter my iDisk password. how can i stop that from happening? do i have to turn off password protection on iDisk? if so, how? also, will turning off that password protection mean anyone can access my iDisk and grab my files?

It's not clear which iDisk folder your files are in. But there is a Public folder which you can configure to be password-protected or not:
    http://idisk.mac.com/yourdotmacmembername-Public
For example, clicking on the following link will show an empty Public folder in Apple's demo .Mac account:
    http://idisk.mac.com/emily_parker-Public
You can configure your Public folder's settings via the  menu +> System Preferences... > .Mac > iDisk+ tab.

  • Blocked from websites??

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, so apologies if it isn't, but I seem to consistently get blocked from various websites...
I'm connecting through a broadband connection through a belkin router. if I switch the router off and then back on again I can get to the sites in question, but after loading 2 or three pages from the site I once again get 'blocked' and the site times out. I don't have this problem on any other computer/connection and if I cloak my IP address I can get to the sites OK. I do however need 'proper' access to these sites as they contain important accounts of mine so accessing them via a cloaked IP isn't satisfactory.
It seems as though something in the router is blocking access. Does anyone have any ideas how I can stop this happening? Is there a setting in the router configuration that may be causing this?
    G5 PowerMac Dual 2Ghz. 2.5GB RAM. Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    OK... Some specifics.
The site I always get blocked from is spreadshirt.net, I also sometimes get blocked from tiscali.co.uk and occasionally the iTunes Store (either via iTunes itself or via my web-browser). If I cloak my IP address then I can access them or if I power-off and then power-on my router I can access them again. Although I can only ever get to a few pages on the spreadshirt.net site before being blocked out again.
My ISP is plusnet and the router I'm using is a Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless-G Router, I don't use the wireless side of it but have it connected via an ethernet cable. The model No of the router is F5D76324.
    Thanks,
    Alan.

  • Remove Render Blocking From Office 365 Public Facing Website

Please does anyone know how to solve this?
Im trying to optimise my office 365 public facing website with search engines such as Google. Google has found a number of errors on all my pages, one being this Remove Render Blocking from Javascript & Optimise CSS Delivery. What does this mean and
how do i fix this? Must be someone out there that knows surely.
The notes Google left where: None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following
resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
    Thanks

I feel like I'm losing my mind! Here is a  Fortune 500 company web site using Sharepoint public facing: http://www.constellation.com/pages/default.aspx.
Just vaildated it; it contains 93 errors!! Another has a slow-moving Flash component that cannot be controlled by the user and looks like it was built in 1995 at best: http://www.viacom.com/Pages/default.aspx . It contains 59 errors.
What is going on here? The combination of "Cloud" computing and mobile devices is destroying web design! We are regressing!

  • Ulitmate Poker blocked from accessing my geolocation

I am a long time customer of Verizon and a new customer of Ultimate Poker. I am outraged that Verizon has blocked Ultimate Poker from accessing my geo-location even though they have my permission to do so. Everyone in the word (Google) has access to my location. Ultimate Poker is legal in Nevada as long as they can verify my physical location in Nevada via my cell phone. All the other carriers allow this--not Verizon. Time to look at ATT.

    I mean you no disrespect with the following response. I must say you apparently did not fully understand what this discussion was all about.     Discussions of moderator actions on the boards. If you need to comment on a moderator action, please private message any administrator/moderator;
First off, nowhere in my discussion does it say I want to play online poker on my cell phone. It would have to be on a desktop or laptop computer.
Second, your assumption is incorrect regarding AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. These wireless carriers do allow the triangulation of their phones to UltimatePoker.com. As it pertains to this discussion, It is necessary for this legitimate  Nevada based poker website to prove to the Nevada Gaming Commission that:
    1) Prospective online poker players are playing on a desktop or laptop computer with an IP Address located in the State of Nevada.
    2) Prospective online poker players are physically here in the State of Nevada while playing online poker on Ultimate Poker website. This is proven via your wireless cell phones GPS.
Third, you are assuming if a phone's GPS has been set up to allow triangulation, it should be giving your GPS whereabouts to the poker server. One would think this is a true statement. The Smart Phones of today, such as my HTC Thunderbolt, do have GPS Location Services provided by Verizon and Google. Unfortunately, the issue we Verizon customers are having is that Verizon Wireless themselves are blocking our GPS Signal to UltimatePoker.com, whereas other carriers are not.
Forth, I do not have to take it up with the poker website. They have done their due diligence to legally offer online poker playing on their website to any person 21 years or older. The person must allow their physical location to be verified through their cell phone's GPS Locator via the Location Based Service Ultimate Poker uses to triangulate location. Also, the IP Address from the prospective player's computer would need to be physically located in the Stare of Nevada while they are playing.
Fifth, you are speaking about a whole different subject in regards to what Websites Verizon chooses to grant/block access or guarantee any rights to. Your statement has nothing to do with this discussion. We are talking about Verizon preventing their own customer's GPS Location and cell phone number from being verified by a Location Based Service on behalf of a legitimate online gaming website. F.Y.I, Verizon does not prevent their customers from viewing porn and gaming websites over their network. It's up to apps or software such as Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus, or Parental Controls to block these types of websites. However, Verizon will block a website if they receive complaints regarding objectionable material or photographs of a sexual nature involving underage children.
Sixth and final, your sarcastic statement regarding "How much you pay each month does not get you any perks other customers are not getting" is out of line and tries to put words into my mouth. You have taken what I said out of context. I don't think I'm above anyone or are owed any special rights or privileges. On the same token, Verizon Customers, such as myself, should not have to issue ultimatums to the carrier they have long defended and remained loyal to for the past several years. However, if Verizon keeps preventing their customers the right of playing legalized online poker, they may leave us no choice but to sign up with a different carrier. That doesn't mean it would be enjoyable or fun for me to do so, let alone give up all of the UNLIMITED DATA I receive for $24.90 a month.
Thanks for reading. I hope this helps other Verizon customers who may of had questions regarding this issue.

  • How do I stop Firefox from opening its own homepage tab on top of my homepage?

Firefox keeps opening up its own website in my browser on top of my own home page even though I have reset the home page numerous times. Everytime I open firefox I have to reset my home page which works for a half-day or so and then ... we're back to the Firefox homepage. How do I keep Firefox from hijacking my browser?
P.S. I've tried all the stuff that's recommended -- resetting my homepage, etc ... and I'm just getting tired of having to do this. This is getting so irritating I'm going to stop using Firefox and start using another browser.

I am having a similar problem, I'm using "Show my home page" on start-up but firefox decides to always open to the last page visited regardless. I also generally close Firefox using the red X or with alt+f4. This problem is especially annoying when the last page 'visited' is an annoying pop-up ad that wasn't been caught by the pop-up blocker.

Finally I went to internet explorer and the same problem happen, but internet explorer let me know that the content was blocked. All I had to do was unblock it and that was easy and know I can blast out. However trying to remove the block from fire fox is a issue. I went into to tools and removed every block and it still want work right. Therefore, how to remove block from trusted web site. I did the obvious by pasting the web address in the allow content area under tools options. What are the other ways

    Hello,
    Thank you for your post.
I am afraid that the issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses
the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System

Because your issue is about ASP.NET website programming, I suggest that you can consult your issue on ASP.NET forum:

  • Installed Update, Now Can't View My Own GalleryI'm

    Hi All~
    I'm stumped...
I'm working on my website, which includes a Flash photo gallery that I created in Photoshop CS3.  All was working fine a few hours ago.  I could view the gallery from the local folder on my MacBook, could also view it online.
Was surfing for some gallery options and got the "Update Your Flash Player" link...  So I did.  (Up to 10.0.22.??? -- it's the latest version, I triple-checked...)
Now when I go to my own website, I can't view the Flash gallery (same is true from the local folder on my computer).   If I open the page, all I get is two links:
    "Upgrade Your Flash Player"
"Click here if you have Flash Player 6 installed"
If I click #2, the gallery works (locally and online).
I tried deleting the plugin from my "Library" and re-installing.  No help.
Tried simply re-installing about 5 times.  No help.
    Thoughts???
(Using a MacBook Pro, OS 10.5, Safari and Firefox -- same prob with both)
    Thanks!

I installed Dropbox and it seemed to convert my photo for it's use.  Now when I try to view my photos on iPhoto it won't work.
    This is what happens;
You might see this message in iPhoto: "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared." If you do, you can use the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool to prepare your library to work with the current version of iPhoto.
I used the Upgrader toll to prepare my library but it still doesn't work!

  • Blocked from specific sites

very weird. While connected to a site I frequent (moderate) I clicked submit (for a message/post) and received and coannot connect to server error in safari. Every other site associated with this URL is also inaccessible. BUT - ONLY these 4 sites are not accessible.
Thinking it might be related to Safari, I tried Opera, Mozilla and Explorer. Same issue in all browsers. I can access every site normally but not the 4 particular sites.
My ISP (WildBlue) says it is NOT them. All network preferences have been checked and confirmed as appropriate (and internet access IS working except for the formentioned URL's) The site owner says he is NOT blocking me. The sites ISP insists that the problem is not them or a DNS server issue. They all say that my Mac is the problem. (I access these sites 50 times per day for past several years from my macs w/o any problem unitl I clicked submit on a post)
What else could be wrong. This is totally weird and driving me nuts

    I have a similar problem.
A site I frequent (because I own it) is blocked from my mac. Also, any other site on my host's server is blocked as well.
These sites are blocked in Safari, Firefox and Explorer.
I am connected to the internet through a Netgear hub that two computers share. If I go and turn on the Windows machine downstairs, all the sites are accessible.
This makes me quite sure that it is my Mac that is doing the blocking.
I never set up any kind of blocking. One day I could get to my website, and the next day I couldn't. I upgraded from OS 10.2.8 to Tiger, and the problem carried over through the upgrade.
I've been searching everywhere for a solution, but I'm totally baffled.
