  • "Blocked Plug-in"  cannot force quit

I have an application called "Kidzui"  that I use to let my kids browse the internet.  Today I upgraded from 10.6.8 to  Mountain Lion, I'm assuming since I got it out of the app store today, that it is the latest version of Mountain Lion.
When I launch Kidzuii, the application uses the entire screen, but now displays the words "Blocked Plug-in".  Some research revealed that this issue is likly caused by an older version of Adobe Flash.  However; here is the problem.
I cannot force-quit the application.  I have read a bunch of handy articles on using short cut keys to force quit an application.  None of them work.  The cherry on top is that when I power off the machine, it restarts and very helpfully launches the exact same applications that I had open before, which immediatly puts me right back where I was.
Does anyone have any ideas?  I can't get to anything and even a power off and restart isn't helping.  The caps lock key still functions, and the mouse works well too.
    Frustrated in Maryland,
    Andi

Select  ▹ Force Quit from the menu bar, then select the frozen application from the list and press return.

For a "blocked plug-in" error, see Step 4.
For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8.
Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
               ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
    a. If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then select the Security tab in the Safari preferences window. In the list of plugins on the left, there should be one—and only one—entry for "Adobe Flash Player," showing the same version number that you installed. Select that entry. On the right there will be a list of websites for which you have specifically allowed Flash, if any. It's normal for the list to be empty. Below that is a menu labeled

From that menu, select either Allow or Ask.
    b. If you still get the alerts, then go back to the Flash Player preference pane and select the Advanced tab. Click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
    c. If the alerts still persist, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select

              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
In the Safari preferences window, select the Advanced tab and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Step 6
Open this folder as in Step 4:

Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security

Uninstall the old Flash plugin versions > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
And turn OFF Extensions in Sarfari > Prerferences > Extensions. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

    Hello eadesgirl,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you are experiencing a "blocked plugin" message on your Mac when viewing certain web sites.
To address this situation, be sure to follow the steps mentioned here:
Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on December 12, 2014 - Apple Support
If you're using an out-of-date version of the Adobe Flash Player plug-in, you may see the message “Blocked plug-in,” “Flash Security Alert,” or “Flash out-of-date” when attempting to view Flash content in Safari.
Clicking the indicator displays a message that Adobe Flash Player is out-of-date:
To continue viewing Flash content, update to a later version of Adobe Flash Player:
Click the Download Flash button. Safari opens the Adobe Flash Player page on the Adobe website.
Follow the instructions on the Adobe website to download and install the latest version of the plug-in.
If you need to use an older version of Flash Player, you can use Internet plug-in management in Safari to run the plug-in in unsafe mode for websites that you trust.
Contact Adobe if you need help downloading, installing, or using Adobe Flash Player.
    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

Make sure your headphones are plugged in all the way, meaning you cannot see any of the silver still showing from the headphone's plug.

I can no longer access my Airport Express Base Station. When I plug it in, it keeps flashing orange. I cannot see it in the Airport Utility.
    How do I fix this

If you're comfortable resetting all settings, unplug it, hold down the reset button and keep holding it in as you plug it back in - keep holding it for another 10-20s until the amber light flashes
Then, open airport utility, now you should be able to see the device either on-screen or in the upper left under 'other wi-fi devices'

There is no cache where the emails would be stored on the iPad, but you could try quitting the mail app and then launch it again and see if the emails return.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Tap the home button. Then try mail again.

You will want to open iPhoto, go to the iPhoto menu and select Preferences. Under the General tab, next to Connecting camera opens: select iPhoto. Close the preferences and quit iPhoto. Reconnect your iPhone 4. iPhoto should open automatically and offer to import your pictures. Import them and then do what you want with them.
    Best of luck.
