Blocking certain land line numbers

When I received an unwanted call from a land based number, I was previously able to right-click on the number and select "Block Contact".
This is not possible anymore, since Skype suddenly decided to grey that option out. This really sucks bigtime.
The old numbers that I added before Skype implemented this "feature" from hell, are still present in my block-list.
Do you guys have any solution to this?

I'm glad someone else remembers the option to block individual numbers! I've been using Skype both for personal and business use for over 10 years, and I clearly remember being able to right click a number and block it. This morning I spoke to someone is Skype Support, who told me that Skype never had that feature.
When I first used Skype, it was the best service around; but since they climbed into bed with Microsoft, I have been plagued with American marketing and survey companies calling my American Skype number, usually in the early hours of the morning... Aparently Skype don't sell or distribute this information, but somehow these companies have gotten my number. I know Microsoft and Facebook are notorious for distributing this information; I want nothing to do with Microsoft, and Facebook is heading the same way with their proposed new privacy setting that allow them to sell users information and photographs.
I wish instead of pushing their users towards linking their accounts to Microsoft, etc. Skype would give us back the option they say we never had, to block individual nuisance callers, rather than just offering a blanket ban on anyone who is not a Contact.

This is 2012. I'm out of work and money. I only have a home phone with local service only. I have to use Skype for my 1 or 2 long distance calls per month. I'd like my home phone to be my caller ID. I can't receive txt messages that way, but I'd at least have a return number for those to see who it is. Even though I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, not one more penny is being spent on anything. I have none. I already possess a return number and I'd like to use that one.

I have the same question for a different reason. Your text implies that we can use our land line numbers for Caller ID but the implementation doesn't allow it. Why not? i have a cell phone but don't want most people knowing or using it because it's rarely on and each call is separately charged. I want any callbacks to be on my land line. How do I make Caller ID show my land line number?

Just setting up iCloud on my iMac, my problem is when trying to sign out/off from iCloud it comes up with a verification code that is being sent to my land line, I'd changed the numbers in my Apple ID and they show as changed but the land line number stil

Skip the iCloud sign in for now.
Once you reach the home page, go to settings and sign out of FaceTime and Messages. This should also sign you out of iCloud.
Go to iCloud in settings and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
If that does not work
Skip the iCloud sign in
Go to Apple ID.apple.com and sign in
Change your Apple ID to the old one
Delete iCloud account on your device with the old Apple ID and the same password.
Go back to the website, change your Apple ID back to the current one. You will receive an email to verify the account. Verify first.
Sign into iCloud on your device with the correct Apple ID and password

STRANGER GETS MY LAND LINE NUMBER FROM MY IPHONE CALL

Using my iPhone, I called a stranger in error. He answered, whereby I realized my mistake. Instead of being courteous, as I should have been, and saying, "Sorry, wrong number," I simply hung up. This apparently upset him, because he subsequently called my land line and left a threatening message, telling me never to call again. So, hmmm, how did he get my land line number? I'm guessing because it showed up, on his end, when I initially called him with my iPhone. It was associated with or attached to my iPhone number. I know that when a certain relative calls me, more than one of her numbers shows up on my call-back notification.
What do I do to prevent this? I must be able to control and limit the information about me that people I call can get.

There's absolutely no way your land line # was transmitted as CID when calling from your iPhone. If this person found out your land line #, he looked it up based on the name and/or cell # of your iPhone.
The only way he could have your land line show when you called his cell phone is if he already has your full contact info in his phone, including your land line - i.e. you are already known to him.
To avoid this in the future:
1. Disable caller id: Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID > OFF
2. If you don't want to do that, have your carrier transmit only your cell # without your name. Your name can still be researched, but usually require payment
3. Get an unlisted land line phone.
4. Research all the things that can be done with a baseball bat.

Bug with Worksheet Line Numbers in 2.1?

I'm seeing an "issue" with line numbers enabled in the worksheet. When i have a plsql block with nested procedure/functions, and I collapse/expand the nested code, the line numbers in the worksheet don't consistently update till I resize the window.
Example)

Line numbers in Script Logic editor

Hi everybody,
when using the default Script Logic editor in BPC NW I can not see any Line Numbers (or Column Numbers) in the edited script.
When an error is detected by the system after validating the script, the error message sometimes refers to a certain Line Number where the error occured.
Is there a better way than manually counting the lines from the top (which can be quite a task when editing, say 500 lines) ?
Do I miss something here or are you all using alternative editors ?
Please give me some input.

That would mean that I always need to switch from BPC frontend Script Editor into BW and start a transacion and program there. I would have hoped, that simole line numbers would be a standard feature in the BPC frontend editor itself. Nevertheless...

Your account shows that you have an Unlimited World Subscription which includes calls to private landlines in Finland. Your Subscription does not include calls to corporate landlines or to cellphones in Finland. To call corporate landlines you need to Buy Skype credit and to call cellphones either credit or a specific Skype subscription

I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

Skype drops calls to land lines and mobiles

I have enough credit but cannot call landlines or mobiles -
it does not dial but simply stops with "Call Failed" before getting through
Even if I cann my own mobile or landline - so I know they ARE valid numbers
The problem seems to have been introduced with the new version 7.4.0.102
Any ideas please?

Your account logs show that there are connection issues and this is why calls are dropped. Please make sure you have the latest Skype and if possible try to make a call with different connection. For example if you are using public WiFi or 3G connection then try to use cable connection.

Issue: Caller ID setup for a LAND LINE, which can NOT receive a mobile SMS text to verify it.
The office phone (land line) I need to setup as the Caller ID for outbound Skype calls is not able to receive mobile text messages your automated verification system is sending to verify it. I do recall there was a process in place that the verification system would actually call the phone number and I would then input a code provided from Skype's Verification page.

I just checked this for myself. Unfortunately, there is no option for Skype to use a landline number for the Caller ID with a Skype account. You can use an Online Number from certain countries (i.e., USA and UK are two countries where an Online Number can be used for Caller ID) or a mobile phone.
I have been on Skype for over 4 years, and have never seen the option to use a landline number for Caller ID with a Skype account. It may have been in place further in the past, but not anymore.

fwiw, i can only block more than 10 numbers using pc interface, when i tried to block 11th number using fiostv menu, i got error about only blocking 10 number maximum....so i quickly got on puter to try and it works from here, so now we're up to 11 numbers blocked, certain to reach 100 by end of year......if fios being sold to frontier doesn't interfere with everything

Been thinking about this for awhile, but thought it best to ask the people who really know what they are doing.
What is the proper way to record & show line numbers in a Master / Detail record set?
For example, take Master/Detail relationship Orders and OrderItems. Orders has a column Document_Number and OrderItems has Document_Number, Line_Number. Line_Number should contain the row number 1,2,3,4 ... etc. for each row in a document.

The line number of the OrderItems table is the second half of the primary key. The first half of the primary key (DocumentNumber) is the foreign key to the Orders table.
Think of it like line items on an order or invoice. For example, if you were talking to someone on the phone concerning an invoice, you might say, "The pricing for line item #3 is incorrect." In this case, it's good to have a common reference. Or imagine a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with no row numbers displayed! You'd never get anywhere if you had to explain something over the phone.
If this is tricky to perform, I take it using a sequence and trigger such as the Fusion Order Demo is the best way to approach the challenge for simplicity's sake?

IPhone 3G ** key does not allow me to access my land line voice mailbox...

OK, I have a great iPhone 3G issue for you. Here it is...
In order for me to retrieve my voice mail messages on my office land line, I have to call my office direct dial phone number. After that outgoing message begins to play, I have to press ** on my iphone keypad to prompt the voice mail phone system to let me know dial my extension number and password. On my old iphone 2G, it works fine. But with the new iphone, it does not. Another words, when I press **, it does not allow me to the part where I dial my extension number and password. It instead instructs me to dial my extension number and leave a message (not enter my password). Possibly the ** tones from the new phone are too short? Not sure? There are two other people at my company that are having the exact same issue on their 3G phones as well. I even went to the AT&T store and tested it on the display iphones there. Same problem...

I was on the phone for an hour today with tech support. I spoke first to a tech support agent and next to an iPhone product specialist. Neither had heard of this issue, but I referred them to this thread and they now know it is an issue.
The product specialist tried to solve the problem and could not. He told me he was emailing the engineers to determine a workaround. He told me he would call me by Tuesday at the latest. His name is Richard and I will continue to update our progress in fixing this issue as I receive information.
If we can't access our land line corporate voicemail I don't see how I can keep the iPhone even though it otherwise works well and has many positive benefits over the Windows-based smartphone I was using (and may have to go back to).
