Blocking incoming Restricted Calls

Hello!
Does anyone know how to block incoming restricted calls? I have gotten an unusal amount in the past week; no one ever answers or leaves messages.  I am starting to get concerned and a little nervous. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated thanks!
thank you so much!!

You have to pay $4.99/month for the 20 number call blocking plan. Apparently in that add on, there is an option to block, restricted and unknown calls from coming through.

  • Blocking incoming collect calls in the voice gateway

    Hello
I am using a C3825 router and I want to block incoming collect calls. I tried the command "double-answer" under cas-custom but it is not working. Does anyone have an alternative? I am using an E1 R2 digital.
    Thank you
    Marcos

    Jonathad,
OP is not in the US, and does not have ISDN, has E1 R2 instead
E1 R2 has a method to block collect calls called double-answer. This method is supported and documented by Cisco.
But for some reason it doesn't work for OP.
In these case, it is necessary to involve an experienced consultant, if not TAC escalation directly.

  • Blocking incoming collect calls

    Hi,
This was asked by one of my students. Can anyone help answer it?
"I  would like to block incoming collect calls in the voice gateway,
but  I'm using R2 digital E1. I need to check the destinations numbers, and  depends of the number, It’ll accept or reject the collect calls.
On  the last PVT of Unified communications in Brazil, some people commented  of to do this block do with TCL scripts with Double-Answer, but I don’t  know much about TCL script."
    Thanks, Janine

    Janine,
if i understand your requirement correctly..you can reject the call using translation rule and mapping to dial-peer.
    Reject call on voice router
    voice translation-rule 100
    rule 1 reject /xxxxxxxxxx/
    voice translation-profile reject
    translate calling 100
    voice-port x/x/x:23
    translation-profile incoming reject
First, create a translation rule that will identify the incoming call:
    voice translation-rule 100
    rule 1 reject /2124290000/
    rule 2 reject /4089988472/
    voice translation-profile call_block_profile
    translate calling 100
    dial-peer voice 111 pots
    incoming called-number .
    call-block translation-profile incoming call_block_profile
    call-block disconnect-cause incoming invalid_number
Then place that translation profile into your inbound dial-peer. It you don't have one defined, create one using the incoming called-number dial-peer command, as so:
The call-block command allows the gateway to give a disconnect message rather than just a fast busy.

  • Block incoming anonymous calls

    Hi,
I'm trying to block incoming blocked/unknown/anonymous callers over a sip trunk? I've creaed a translation rule and applied it:
    voice translation-rule 5000
    rule 1 reject /^$/
    voice translation-profile CallBlock5000
    translate calling 5000
    dial-peer voice xxxx voip
    call-block translation-profile incoming CallBlock5000
    call-block disconnect-cause incoming invalid-number
To try it out, I'm dialing (from a normal/off network cell and landline) *67 and then the number. This does not work; only if I match the exact number I'm calling from, then it does get blocked.
When I show sip calls during the *67 call I see the calling number is blank.
       Calling Number         :
When I show sip calls during the regular call, I see the proper Calling Number.
As I understand it, with Call Manager and phones running SCCP, I cannot enable/use anonymous call blocking; so I do have to enforce the call blocking policy at this gateway device (UC520).
I'm very new to Cisco voice, so sorry I'f I'm missing something obvious. Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I tried the rule--still private gets through.

  • Block incoming international calls?

I am getting incoming phone calls from 2348173632154 -- spam from a Nigerian caller! I cannot block it, because it is a 13-digit number and not a 10-digit number. Does anyone know how I can block it through other means?

        Hi Gcambp8424!
I realize unexpected calls can be frustrating! Unfortunately, international numbers with more than 10 digits can not be blocked. Keep in mind, you will not be billed for receiving an international call while you a located in the United States. To view our Call & Messaging block feature visit:http://vz.to/1nMgSTH .

That depends which phone he/she is using... this is in the phones section, not the smartphones, so I had assumed that software such as that would not be appropriate lol

  • Block incoming calls

how to block incoming calls on iphone

They really need an App .. native or not to block calls. I have tried with my provider and they offer a blocking service .. but only if the caller is advertising thier number. Therfore I can not block unknown or blocked numbers from calling me! These are the ones I really need to block... My wifes phone is one digit off mine .. last night at 3:30am we get called by a blocked number at the same time and of course .. no one on the other end... robocallers should be illegal.
If your in Canada I would suggest filing a complaint to the CRTC on the abuse of unknown/blocked numbers and our inability to block or even report them. I can only file a report if I have a phone number displayed I sent in my complaint this morning to them after finding out Rogers had no way for me to prevent these phone calls.

  • Blocking incoming calls

Good Afternon. Would someone please explain the 10 phone number limit for blocking incoming calls? I have used Vonage [which has no limit] Optimum on line [100 limit] Time Warner [30 limit and it cleared the list every 90 days] Fios only offers me 10 ? Are you aware of the problem with telemarketers? I don't think so. I'd like Fios to be more proactive in allowing me to defend the peace and quiet of my home, by expanding this area. It's quite pitiful compared to other vendors I have used, and it is the Main reason that I am not renewing my contract with Fios when we are done. Thank you.

*60 (Call Block) is the easiest way to block an incoming caller, however to my understanding only local, landline numbers can be blocked with *60. To use it, simply dial *60 and follow the prompts. But call Verizon first to set up a monthly subscription or you will be charged per use charges which can really add up.
A really great option which I have on my landline phone is called Do Not Disturb. You can make a list of up to 15 phone numbers which are the only people who can get through to you when you have DND turned on. (You can turn it on and off anytime you want through an 800 number.) NO other calls, including telemarketers, "unavailable" numbers, etc. can get through. If you have home voice mail you can choose to send the blocked calls to your voice mail so they can leave a message. Otherwise they will get a recording saying "The party you are calling does not wish to be disturbed at this time." There are also two other rejection messages you can choose.
Also you can choose a 4 digit pin to give to people you want to be able to get through but I have never used that option; I just put them on the "allowed numbers" list.

Contact your carrier & see if they offer call blocking...some do, some don't. There is no other way to block calls on any cell phone.

  • How can I block all incoming international calls?

How can I block all incoming international calls?

Verizon does not value me as a customer because they would not assist me with getting the blocks done. The services Verizon offered, "Family Base" does not block what I and many, many, many, more verizon customers need.  The APP is working GREAT! In the 1st two days it blocked over 25 unwanted solicitations from India. It blocked "unknown", Private, 1234, 123456789566, 000-000-0000, and other 10 digit numbers! NOKIA has done a fabulous job with the developement of their APP. Verizon could block these calls but is not willing to do so and in the process try to sell me a product that wouldn't work.

  • How to block UNKNOWN or RESTRICTED calls?

How to block UNKNOWN or RESTRICTED calls on my IPhone 4s?

        Hi austill87,
No one likes those annoying restricted calls. Let me enlighten you on how to stop those calls once and for all. By adding the Usage Control feature on your line, you will be given the capability of blocking restricted, unknown or blocked numbers. Here is how you can add the feature www.verizonwireless.com/usagecontrols

  • Waves of blocked and unknown calls

The continued waves of blocked and unknown call has me never picking up my phone.  I have no blocks on my account, btw.  I have been missing important calls as I have to keep the phone on vibe.   I cannot find a way to block these calls.  I hope I'm missing something on the phone or account that can help.  Thanks.

        Hi dcbill,
I feel your pain; I don't like unsolicited/blocked calls either. While there is no way to keep companies or people from calling your number you can block incoming calls from restricted/blocked/unknown calls with Usage Controls. See details online http://goo.gl/TU18j at your convenience.

    Thank's a lot

        Hi there Altercc!
We definitely want others to know when you're calling them. This could be fixed two ways.
First we have an option called Share Name ID available via vzw.com: http://bit.ly/SsGi9e
We also have the opportunity to Block your Caller ID from displaying. This is a feature we can easily remove if it's active.

  • Modem doesn't disconnect during incoming phone call

    IMac 10.2.8 800 MHz Power PC G4
modem doesn't disconnect during incoming phone calls.
In System Preferences-Network, I have checked the boxes, "Notify me of incoming calls when connected to the internet ," Play alert sound when receiving a call," and "Remind me 1 second before disconnecting me."
    thanks for any help
    jeff

Jeffrey, Welcome to the discussion area!
I believe that there are 2 issues here. One is how the iMac handles incoming calls. The other is that your telephone service has to send a signal when there is an incoming call.
In traditional phone service, if you are using the phone and someone tries to call you, their call is blocked at the switch (at the telephone company) and they hear a busy signal.
To do what you want, you must ensure that your phone company has the proper configuration to send your iMac the signal that there is another phone call.

  • My iPad 2 doesn't ring when there are incoming FaceTime calls. This problem started when I updated to iOS 8.1.  IOS 8.1.1 didn't correct this problem.  Any suggestions?

My iPad 2 does not ring when receiving incoming FaceTime calls since updating iOS 8.1.  iOS 8.1.1 has not helped this problem.  I checked the settings to make sure Restrictions were off.  I cannot find anyplace that turns sound notification for FaceTime on or off.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

In spite of the fact that you said you checked the settings, I still believe that you have system sounds muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

AS for your other issues, have you done any other troubleshooting like resetting your iPad, resetting all settings or doing a complete factory reset?
