  • Office 2013 Suppress Default File Type Popup

    Hello,
during evaluation for Office 2013 we get this popup at the first start. We have configured the default file types for word, excel and powerpoint to .doc-File Format via GPO. Can we disable this Popup via GPO or the OCT-Wizard?
I have found some Posts to disable the Popup via registry, but we wouldn´t like to set entrys for this popup in the registry, if its possiable to disable the popup via GPO or OCT.

Looks like this is a known issue that we have no way to suppress this dialog, even forced the default file type for Office applications, the box still appears.
    Please check these two thread:

  • Start CVI application when particular file type is double clicked

    I'm developing using Labwindows/CVI 2013 on Win7
I'm trying to get my installed Labwindows/CVI application (the app is called KSALogViewerV100) to run when a file with a particular extension is double-clicked.
    I went to Control Panel:
    Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations
I found my extension (.klg) and and clicked Change Progam, then Browse and navigated to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\KSALogViewerV100 and selected KSALogViewerV100.exe
    So far so good.
But when I open Explorer and find a file like MyFile.klg and double click it I get this:
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

OK, my bad, I was mis-handling the argc, argv stuff and overwriting a string.
Now when I double-click a .klg file the appliction comes up just fine.  The full path-name of the file I double-clicked is in argv[1].
Not sure I followed you though--
Are you saying I should not have to go into control panel to associate .klg file types with my KSALogViewerV100.exe application?

  • Block Production Order Creation for Particular Order Type

    Hi Experts,
I want to disable the production order creation for a particular order type XX01 however there are some existing orders for this order type which should be processed further.
In other words my objective is to -
    1. Block new Production order XX01 creation -
    2. Processing of order type XX01 should be possible.
Is there standard setting available to achieve this or user exist is the only option..
    Regards,

    Hi
You can use the user exit PPCO0006 and its function mdoule EXIT_SAPLCOZF_003 to archive that. That function module is called when the user click enter after inputting the material/plant/order type in CO01 then you just need to check the imported value CAUFVD_IMP-AUART which contains the inputted order type then rasise an error message to tell user that the order type cannot be used due to certain reason. The source code need to be written there is very simple.
    Regards.

  • FIREFOX 4 CRASHES WHEN I USE THE "BROUSE" MODE TO SELECT A PROGRAM TO OPEN A PARTICULAR FILE TYPE

USING TOOLS-OPTIONS- APPLICATION BRINGS UP THE PANEL TO SELECT PROGRAMS FOR EACH FILE TYPE. SELECTING "USE OTHER" BRINGS ANOTHER PANEL WITH VARIOUS OPTIONS. NONE OF THESE ARE APPROPRIATE FOR MY SITUATION. AS SOON AS I CLICK "BROWSE" FIREFOX CRASHES. THE SAME THING HAPPENS IF I SELECT AN ATTACHMENT FROM AN EMAIL AND TRY TO CHANGE THE ASSOCIATED PROGRAM BY USING "BROWSE" TO FIND AN APPROPRIATE PROGRAM.

You can uninstall (remove) the Java Console extensions and disable the Java Quick Starter extension, you do not need them to run Java applets.

See also http://www.java.com/en/download/help/quickstarter.xml - What is Java Quick Starter (JQS)? What is the benefit of running JQS? - 6.0
Disable the Java Quick Starter extension: Tools -> Addons -> Extensions<br />
Control Panel -> Java -> Advanced tab -> Miscellaneous -> Java Quick Starter (disable)

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

  • If same file name but file types are different, we should get only particular file type in search results.

    Hi Team,
If filename is same for .doc and .pdf, only .pdf file should come in search results. For example, Attendee.doc, Attendee.pdf are available, we should get only .pdf in the search
    results.
Please help us on this how to achieve.

    Hi Manjeera,
I think you should use KQL / Managed properties, refer these links for more information -

  • Every time I launch a particular file type in a given day I'm told it's the first time and asked whether I want to choose the application?

What might be going on with my system to cause this and is it a concern? I've already restored Mountain Lion twice since getting my Retina MBP this past summer. I'm running 10.8.3 with 8 GB RAM.

  • Block File Types from KM Repository

Is there any way to block particular file types (i.e. .avi, .wmv) from KM repositories?  We do not want users to be able to load particular types of files to our SAP Portal environment.

    Hi Jon.
Open Config Tool > cluster-data > Instance > Server > General Tab and add Java parameter '-Dcom.sap.km.forbiddenext=exe,avi' (modify exact values per your needs). Save and repeat the same procedure for all cluster instances. Restart cluster.

You can create a Deny URL rule, using a wildcard (*) and an extension
(e.g. .mp3). Put that higher in the rules list than any Allow rule which
would otherwise let that URL go through. If you have proxy
authentication working, you can assign the deny rule to users, groups or
containers to selectively deny that traffic.
Sooner or later though, you will probably find that someone gets cute and
starts changing the extensions on files, or removing them, at least for
ones they put up on their own websites.

  • Export / File Types

    Hey.
I'm very, very new to the Mac world.
Just wondering how I can make my pictures that I take in iPhoto become my display picture in "Microsoft Messenger for Mac" (ver.7.0.1).
I've tried dragging and dropping, and it wont work.
I've tried using the export button under "file", and it is greyed out so I can't click it.
Is there something wrong with the files being made in iPhoto? Messenger says it wont accept this particular file type.
Do I need to download a different Messenger?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • File type search

    Hi,
I have list of all the InetAddress attached to the LAN. I want to search particular file types in a system using its InetAddress. (InetAddress is nothing but IP address) Using that i want to search mp3 , jpeg etc files are in the system. Can any one help me..
    regards,
    prakash

Thanks, that's much better. However I only find 21 files with this setting, but I know that there are at least 50 in my Home directory. Any idea why? Is there like a time limit as it seems that its mostly older files that are ignored.

  • Testing for applications associated with a file type

    Dear contributors,
while trying to open a simple *.txt file via java.awt.Desktop.open(File)
the IOException is thrown. According to Javadoc there is "no associated
application or the associated application fails to be launched" in this
case. Interestingly the Desktop class does not provide methods to test
for particular file type registration, just for the "support" of a generic
Desctop.Action. Colud you please illuminate how to check, whether a file
extension / file type / mime type has an associated application in a platform
(in)dependent way at least for "opening" ?
    OS: Linux, 2.6.24-22-generic, x86_64
    JDK: 1.6.0_07, 64 bit
    Many thanks
    Jaro Pullmann

If you make the call and an exception is thrown, then there is not application associated with the file type--otherwise I believe you need to do some registry work if you do not want a pretest.

  • What script to find associated program for a file type?

    Hi friends,
I am looking for OSX commands that can do the following:
    - return name of associated program for a particular file type, i.e "QuickTime' for .mov
    - return path of the executable file of the program name returned above.
I hope to get some ideas/suggestions from you.
Thanks and have a nice day!

Microsoft has a recover pst program that you can get from their
site. But when I worked on a help desk and used the program, it might have worked about once out of 15 times. When I contacted Microsoft about it, they stated that they knew that the program really did not work and there was no rush on revising it. Saying
that, we are talking about five years ago when I was on the help desk. Or use Outlook Restore Toolbox from

  • Using Finder to locate specific file types....

Hi. I'm looking for bookmarks that may contain a particular word. Is there a way to filter my spotlight (or finder) searches just for a particular file type? I know you can sort results by file type, but it's rather just filter in the first place...

What kind of bookmarks are you referring to? For example, most web browsers these days have a search field in their bookmark manager so searching within the app might be easier than using Spotlight.
Also, new to Leopard, the Application "Help" menus use "Spotlight" now. So for example, entering a term in "Safari" > "Help" will bring up hits including matches in the "Bookmarks" and "History" menus. Something perhaps something similar will work for a programme that doesn't have it's own searchable bookmarks.
With respect to SpotLight, a search using "Kind" is "Other" and entering "bookmark" brings up some types of bookmarks (but clearly not all - I'm not sure what it's doing exactly). It's kind of cumbersome, but you could also add something like this to your query: 'kMDItemContentType:com.apple.safari.bookmark'...
