somebody knows like blocking protocols like skype with pix version 7.2.1.
i know msn messenger or yahoo messenger can be blocked.
but I need to blocked things like skype.

IPS 4240 Blocking Questions with Pix 515E

I have enabled Blocking on the 4240 and have set the Blocking Device as our Pix 515E. When I look at the Signature Configurations quite a few Signature Actions are set to Produce Alert only. If blocking is enabled do you have to also go and set the Signature Actions to Deny or TCP Reset? So far my IPS dosen't show any Denied Attackers and it has detected High level Traffic which I would assume should now be blocked. Thanks John

Yes, you have to go under the signatures you want and enable blocking for them as an action. Configuring blocking globally (defining the blocking device, the interface,, the login details for the device, etc), doesn't actually enable any blocking on the sensor per se, you still have to go and enable blocking for that particular signature. when that particular sig fires in future, the sensor will block it on the device you have configured.
Be very careful with blocking, the reason we don't simply block all signatures is that it would be very dangerous to blindly add access-lists to a device that will stop traffic. You first need to make sure you're not getting any false-positives on the signatures and end up blocking valid traffic. Also, on a busy sensor you could easily overrun both the sensor and the blocking device with writing and removing 1000's of access-lists onto it. And finally, although not likely, blocking can even be used as a denial of service attack, where an attacker, if they know what signatures you are blocking on, can spoof packets past your sensor so that it will deny traffic to legitimate hosts.
You need to look at what signatures you really want to block on, then enable blocking on them individually.

P2P blocking on ASA 5525 with Software Version 8.6(1)2

Now we want to block P2P sharing Bit torrent to internet sites. Please help me with the configuration.
We have DMZ setup & also inline IPS module.

You can try to block this by port.
The well known TCP port for BitTorrent traffic is 6881-6889 (and 6969 for the tracker port).
The config is
Access-list BLOCK-P2P-TRAFFIC deny tcp any any range 6881 6889 log
And applies to the desire interface with the "Access-group command"
For example:
Access-group BLOCK-P2P-TRAFFIC outbound interface DMZ
However Blocking Bittorrent is challenging, and can't really be done effectively with port blocks. The standard ports are 6881-6889 TCP, but the protocol can be run on any port, and the peer-to-peer nature of the protocol means that discovering peers that use unblocked ports is simple.
Also you can execute from the cmd on windows the command netstat -a and check the port Bit torrent is using .

Using ACS with PIX/ASA

Hi there,
We have an implementation of Cisco Secure ACS 4.1.4 using RSA SecurID as its authentication source to provide role-based access control and command level authorisation.
We have succesfully deployed this our routers/switches, and are now looking at configuring Cisco PIX/ASA devices to use ACS and have stubbled across issues.
Config on PIX/ASA (note we actually have 4 ACS servers defined for resilience etc):

Problems:
Enter PASSCODE is NOT displayed on first attempt to logon to the PIX/ASA because it does not attempt to communicate with ACS until username/pass is sent.
Username with null password (e.g. CR) will correctly then display Enter PASSCODE prompt received from ACS.
PIX/ASA does not attempt to authenticate against all configured TACACS+ servers in one go, instead it tries each sequentially per authentication attemptâ¦.e.g.
1st Attempt = Server 1
2nd Attempt = Server 2
3rd Attempt = Server 3
4th Attempt = Server 4
This means that in total failure of ACS users will have to attempt authentication N+1 times before failing to LOCAL credentials depending on number of servers configured, this seems to be from setting "depletion deadtime 1" however the alternative is worse:
With âdepletion timedâ configured, by the time the user has attempted authentication to servers 2,3 and 4 the hard coded 30 second timeout has likely elapsed and the first server has been re-enabled by the PIX for authentication attempts, as such it will never fail to local authentication locking the user out of the device, the PIX itself does warn of this with the following error:
âWARNING: Fallback authentication is configured, but reactivation mode is set to
timed. Multiple aaa servers may prevent the appliance from ever invoking the fallback auth
mechanism.â
The next issue is that of accounting.....AAA Accounting does not record âSHOWâ commands or session accounting records (start/stop) or âENABLE".
The final issue is ASDM. We can login to ASDM successfully using ACS/RSA SecurID, however when a change is made to the configuration ASDM repeatedly sends the users logon credentials multiple times.
As RSA SecurID token can only be used once this fails and locks the account.
Any ideas on how to make two of Ciscos leading security products work together better?

It appears some of the above are known issues.
PASSCODE issue, page 2-17 states:
We recommend that you use the same username and password in the local database as the
AAA server because the security appliance prompt does not give any indication which method is being used.
Failure to LOCAL, page 2-42 states:
You can have up to 15 server groups in single mode or 4 server groups per context in multiple mode. Each group can have up to 16 servers in single mode or 4 servers in multiple mode. When a user logs in, the servers are accessed one at a time starting with the first server you specify in the configuration, until a server responds.
AAA Accounting, page 2-2 states:
To send accounting messages to the TACACS+ accounting server when you enter any command other than show commands at the CLI, use the aaa accounting command command in global configuration mode.
ASDM issue, page 2-17 states:
HTTP management authentication does not support the SDI protocol for AAA server group
So looks like all my issues are known "features" of PIX/ASA integration with ACS, any ideas of how to achieve a "slicker" integration?
Is there a roadmap to improve this with later versions of the OS?
Will the PIX/ASA code ever properly support the same features as IOS?
Would it be better to look at using something like CSM instead of ASDM?

Panasonic network cameras no longer work with new versions of Firefox.

I have been viewing my Panasonic Network camera, model BB-HCM381A using Firefox for several years.
Starting with Firefox version 15.0.1 and again with 16.0.1, 16.0.2 and 17.0.1 the browser begins to display the streaming video, but then drops the signal after maybe 20 seconds. Refreshing the page brings back the image for another 20 seconds, and then drops it again.
All previous versions of Firefox before version 15.0.1 worked great. Now I have to use Internet Explorer exclusively. It would be great if you could fix the problem.
Example of viewing the streaming video can be found at www.bandon.tv, which may require installing a plug-in from Panasonic.

I see the same happen, but it takes longer. It is possible that the server gets too many visitors and drops some of them. A right click and "This Frame > Reload This Frame" also works. I also notice that frames get blocked (it skips seconds), so you may need a faster server.

Construct a Sql block using With Clause to improve the performance

I have got four diff parametrized cursor in my Pl/Sql Procedure. As the performance of the Procedure is very pathetic,so i have been asked to tune the Select statements used in those cursors.
So I am trying to use the With Clause in order to club all those four Select Statements.
I would appreciate if anybody can help me to construct the Sql Block using With Clause.

I've found that middlemouse.contentLoadURL feature has changed its behavior in FF5.0 as compared with previous versions: I now can paste&load only full urls that start with "http://" prefix, but previously it was possible to paste&load any url even without protocol prefix. It is very useful when someone has an url for example just "support.mozilla.com", but with FF5.0 one _has_ to paste it to urlbar instead of just middle-clicking into the browser window (long standing and usual *nix behavior). How can I make middlemouse.contentLoadURL load any clipboard content not prefixed with protocol specification?

MRP Run with production version.

Hi Experts;
I am working as a member of a SAP implementation supporting team. The client wants to run MRP with alternative BOM, not with the 1st BOM. As a solution for the requirement i created production versions and assigned to MD61 schedule line tab. It is working properly.
But the user maintain some quantity as a safety stock for finished materials also. To cover the safety stock requirement, system create planned orders with the 1st BOM, not the production version.Already i have maintained the selection method "3" in material master.
Is it possible to cover safety stock with alternative BOM.

As per other expert suggested you can block the first production version but if in future you want use first production then,,
In these case you maintain production version in many way
Ex.
1. Lot size .(if production version using for specific lot)
    Maintain the Lot for both production version, so Production version 1 lot completed system take       second production version.
2. Production version validity date (If production version using for specific period )
    In this case after completion of 1. Production version period system take second one
3. Manually selection of production version (If multiple production version and all have same condition)
    Whenever you convert the planned order to production order, one pop up come and ask for                manually selection for Production version, for this you go to OPL8 and select the Manually                production version

Error connecting with Few versions of Oracle

I wrote an MFC based application in Visual C++ to make the connection with Oracle Database. ADO Control is used to make connection. Following is the Connection String:
"Provider=MSDAORA;User Id=Scott;Password=Tiger;Data Source=(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS_LIST =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521)))(CONNECT_DATA =(SID = edox)));"
I am able to connect with few versions of oracle like 8.0.5.0.0 and 9.0.1.1.1
But few versions are not accepting this connection string. Like Oracle 9i, Release 1.0.2. What could be the reason of this problem?
Another thing that noticed with 8.0.6.0.0 is that when i start the oracle service, and try to connect, it refuces connection, but next time it accepts the connection request...

Another thing i noticed is if i connect the SQL+ software, it continues working. But if i close the session of sql+, my other application stops working...Strange.

Ran the 'Refresh' mode, now nothing is compatible with my version of firefox? No Add-ons, Extensions or Themes. Please help me get back to what I had.

I opened Firefox, and I had a bar along the bottom saying it needed to be optimized, so I could refresh Firefox. I understood that it would take it back to its original state, but I thought that I could add things that I wanted. But when it was "Refreshed", I could not add anything. Themes are "Not compatible with my version of Firefox". Add-ons do download, but I cannot install them. It takes me to a page that is too confusing for a non-tech person like me (a windows page that wants me to find the program that will install it). So I gave up (I also don't have alot of time to fix this). I checked for "updates" hoping that I could update the version and then add a theme, add-ons, extensions, etc. But it is up-to-date. Thank you for your help.

Normally, when you try to install an extension from the Mozilla Add-ons site, you get a progress bar that drops down temporarily from the address bar, and then a pop-up dialog asking you to approve the installation. Do you get either of those or just nothing happens?

Could you test with the avast! extension disabled in case it is blocking these normal actions? You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then find avast! on the right side and click Disable.
Often a link will appear above a disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any difference? Are other sites still a problem?

I have installed Firefox4 to find it is not compatible with my version of OSX how do I get version 3.6 back or do I just give up and use Safari?

I downloaded Version 4 and installed it. At no point did it say that it was not compatible with the version of OS X that I am running (10.4.11) now that it is installed it will not open but it has already up graded from 3.6 so I have lost the lot. How can I download a version of 3.6 so that I can use it again or should I just pack up and use Safari as all I can get from your site is version 4. HELP!!!

Add management server: Setup version: 7.0.9538.0 is not compatible with database version: 7.1.10226.0

I want to add another management server to our existing SCOM environment. But whenever I run this setup on a new server I get stuck in the window for selecting the OperationsManager database. The database field stays blank and in the OpsMgrSetupWizard log
there are lines that the setup version is not compatible with the database version. But I use the same installer as when I installed the other management servers a year ago.
Maybe there is a newer setup installer? But I can't find it.

Apparently there was a newer version of SCOM setup in msdn and someone upgraded our existing SCOM environment. Downloaded the new setup, new report viewer controls and a System
CLR Types for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 and now it works!!
