Blocking Web Access at night and weekends

Currently we have a ASA5505 and it's allowing all traffic out to the web. How do I block web traffic at night and weekends. Would a AAA rule be suitable? if so, how do I go about it?
Thanks for any help
Rich

You can go for ACL for this. ACL's in ASA can be configured for a time duaration to allow the traffic after which they will block the requested traffic.

  • Calling across time zones (night and weekend minutes)

I recently moved from the eastern time zone to central time.  I'm wondering how this affects nights and weekends minutes.  If a  friend of mine (a non-verizon customer) calls me from the eastern time zone at 9:30 pm, it's only 8:30 p.m. here in central time.  So would I be charged peak minute usage?

You can always get even with them, let the call go to voicemail and return the call at 5:45 AM.

  • A question about night and weekend minutes.

Do the people I call using my night and weekend minutes have to be with verison or on my friends and family list, or Can I call anyone for free on the night and weekend times?

        @Flutterbye13,
    That's a great question!
The beauty of the unlimited nights & weekend is that you can call and receive calls from anyone, no matter what carrier, and the calls are free.

  • Free nights and weekend minutes?

I have the 450 minutes a month plan with 2GB data plan. Are my minutes unlimited at night and weekends and if they are what time do the free minutes start and end at night? Any help would be appreciated .....Thanks

Seems it is something they don't readily advertise on the website. All i ever see is the "Share Everything" plan which is pricey! Continuing to raise mobile phone pricing plans and they will see a drop in subscriptions. Thanks for the answer.
Because they stopped offering that plan to new customers back at the end of June. Only people that were customers before June 28th can keep the old pricing. if they switch to Share Everything they can't switch back. Share Everything can either be more or less expensive depending on one's situation. People that make blanket statements on how it's more expensive are either lying or misinformed.

  • Nights and weekend

just a quick question and you can get back to slaughtering apple.
on the iphone monthly plans it gives you minutes and texts, what is the nights and weekends bit for?
(uk here we are still waiting for any iphone)

you accumulate rollover minutes if you dont use all of your monthly minutes you get in your plan. if you DO go over one month, thats when you use the rollover, its like a cushion so you arent charged the overages. they start to expire a year after you earn them. they are on a "rolling" 12 month calender.

  • Unlimited Nights and Weekends and three-way calling questions

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find the answer searching the boards.
With Unlimited Nights and Weekends, if you initiate a call at 8:50pm on a weekday that lasts an hour, will you be charged minutes for the entire call (60 minutes) or only the first 11 minutes?  On a related note, what if you make a three-way call at 8:50pm on a weekday?  Are you charged the same number of minutes as a call to a single number?  What about after 9:01pm?  In other words, is there no difference between a call to a single number vs. a call to two numbers?  BTW, all of these scenarios are for calls inside the United States.
    Thank you!

To answer the first part, you would be charged for the first 11 minutes because the Verizon network recognizes when the call rolls into a free minute period.  As far as 3 way calling is concerned, you are actively calling 2 numbers so the minutes to both numbers count againist your minute plan and then would transition to free minutes after 9pm.  Hope this answers your questions.

  • Web access using Macbook and cellphone (Telus)

I have a web-enable cell phone that I would like to have my Macbook use to access the internet using Bluetooth to communicate with the phone. I'm running Mac OS X (10.5.3), the phone is an LG Chocolate and my cell carrier is Telus (Canada).
Has anyone had any luck with this?
    null

It sounds to me like your ISP only allows one PC per internet connection. This can easily be solved by spoofing the MAC address of your Windows XP on your router. So to the ISP your router looks like a PC, and the only PC on the network. I can't be certain that this is your issue as your across the pond.
You should contact the place you purcahsed your MacBook, or call Apple - I am sure they would be more than happy to send you a Hardware Test CD.
    Good Luck!

  • How to block internet access for RDS and RemoteApp users?

    Hi everyone,
This question might partially belong to security forum but I think anyone using RDS services comes across this. I would like to TOTALLY block all internet access including "updates" to any software, windows updates, anti-virus updates, TCP, UDP,
or ANY other protocol out of the server. I would like to only allow traffic both ways for established traffic (e.g. accessing the remote apps).
How can I achieve this without involving a third party firewall software?
    Thanks

In our visitor center, we setup a computer with fake proxy server and add our website to the exception so that the visitors access our website only and no other website. If this RDS is for internal use only, you may disable default gateway. This link may

  • Difference between BLOCK DATA and WEB ACCESS BLOCK?

Currently my account shows I have both BLOCK DATA and WEB ACCESS BLOCK in place. I did this a couple of years to prevent data charges. Works perfectly. Now I'm trying to upgrade one of my lines to a Kin Onem because of the WiFi option and when I add the phone to my shopping cart and go to the Select Features & Services Page I see a message at the bottom that says: Features We Needed To Remove (Because they're incompatible with your phones or plan) - Block Web Access.
It looks like I don't have a choice when ordering the phone, but what exactly will removing the Web Access block do? Maybe I have to turn it off anyway to use the WiFi anyway right? I just don't want to incur any data charges.
    Someone please help. Thank you!

"Data block" actually blocks your phone's ability to connect to the 3g data network. What this means is your phone can't create an internet connection on a cellular network. Web Access block specifically blocks the browser/mobile web on your phone from making a connection. Unblocking mobile web will not cause your phone to be able to connect to the cellular data network (resulting in 1.99/mb charges), but will allow the browser on the kin to connect while you're using wifi.

  • Pay As You Go-Web Access Fee and Mobile to Mobile?

I am thinking of getting a pay as you go phone. As far as payment plans go I may do the $0.99 daily listed here ---> http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?item=prepayItem&action=viewPrepayOverview
And the phone I'm thinking of getting is this one ---> http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/prepay/getPhoneDetail.do?item=prepayItem&selectedPhoneId=5931&selectedPlanCatId=1450
Under details it mentions web. Opera web browser, e-mail, facebook, twitter, etc. No where does it mention  any fees  for using any of this. Does the $0.99 daily access fee cover all web use as well or are there undisclosed other fees?
Also, the unlimited mobile to mobile calling I assume means verizon to verizon calls. Does that mean there is no 10¢ nights and weekend fees for calling another Verizon phone? What about texting? Does unlimited mobile to mobile apply to that or is there a 10¢ per text fee even when texting other Verizon customers.
    Would appreciate clarification!

  • VPN and Exchange server blocks internet access

i had some difficulty configuring Entourage to connect to an Exchange server after establishing a VPN. When the VPN was up, but the Entourage was not working, I could use Safari or any other web access without problems. After getting the Entourage account running, it was populating the folders for what seemed like hours, so i wanted to do other things while waiting. Safari and AOL would not connect. Apparently Microsoft has figured out another way to mess with you on a Mac. Anyone had this problem?

It turns out that it's the VPN that is blocking web access. The first time I configured it a couple of months ago, it connected, and I could do whatever I wanted. When I tried to use the VPN the other day, all my settings had been erased for some reason and I had to reconfigure. It connected, I got into Entourage, used it, but when I tried to go to a web site Safari wouldn't connect. I closed Entourage, no dice. Today I connected without going into Entourage and Safari wouldn't connect. Without the VPN, Safari behaves itself. I have a PC upstairs with the same VPN and it allows use of your browser.
I connected to a different VPN host and still no browser on the Mac. Can not figure out what has happened.

  • My router Linksys E2500 block outlook web access

Hi, my router is blocking my web access to Outlook and I don't know how to fix it. I search every where with Google and I did not found anything. Thanks for the help.

In case anyone else has this problem: FIOS came out and put me on an old D-Link router. Problem solved.
They have since replaced the D-Link with their Actiontec (which I had originally) but they upgraded the firmware to an as yet unreleased version. Problem solved.
    Good luck.

  • Web access grinds to a Halt with DNS

    Hi
I have an issue on two site sites now so I know it is something I have or have not done.
Running OD and DHCP and DNS
10.5.3 but was happening on 10.5.2
The clients first port of call is the server itself for DNS requested then external. In the DHCP setup it dishes out the ip address of the server first then the external DNS.
The web access gets slower and slower then stops and then after about 2 mins speeds up again. the router is the same as before and the only thing that has changed is the DNS setup.
help please as I have two unhappy servers.
only two mobile accounts running so not overloading it. G5 dual 2.8ghz with 4gb ram
    many thanks
    Duncan

    Hi Charles!
First you have no idea what a life saver you will be for me this weekend! I am in LA and the client is in NYC (working remotely obviously) and I've managed to mess things up a bit more since my last post.
One issue I had with changing the port order is that I loose connectivity to the server and then cannot reboot -- I had my business partner in NYC there to do that for me but he is now gone for the day. Is there a way to avoid this problem? Also, just FYI, I had my partner leave the install DVD in the Xserve drive just in case I needed to do a complete reinstall.
Now I will also try to answer your questions as best I can:
Has the server been set up as an Open Directory Master yet?
    Yes it has.
Hopefully it says dc=server,dc=businessname,dc=pri If not or if it says something like dc=<bonjour-servername>,dc=local.
    It says:
    dc=server,dc=businessname,dc=pri
Hopefully you haven't already created a bunch of users in Work Group Manager in the LDAP domain
I have set up users in Work Group Manager but I can easily re-create them. In fact one issue is that they cannot login to AFP services (after I started messing around today), getting SACL membership failures.
Have you already run the Gateway setup assistant
I haven't yet but the person that first set up the server may have way back when.
From your posting I'm assuming the clients will be using internal IP addresses in the 10.10.10.(2-254) range. Correct?
DHCP clients are currently set in the .100 - .200 range.
Is this server going to also be the DHCP server for the subnet?
Please forgive my ignorance but I don't (I know I should) understand the question. Can you explain?
What all services will this server be providing for the internal network?
They are: AFP, DHCP, DNS, Firewall (which I'm sure could be better configured), FTP, NAT, OD, SMB and VPN.
Currently, all clients can access the Internet though cannot access the Server itself (again, probably due to my mucking around today) via AFP or SMB. I do, however still have VPN access.
Also, FYI, apparently a virtual port was configured also on en0 (I believe the Virtual port was there because at one point both the new and old server were active at the same point and the port forwarded requests to the new server so that we didn't have to change anything on the client side). Anyway, here is the System Profile for both ports on en0:
