Blocks related Info

How Can i find the employees table is physically stored within the database. Total no of blocks. Each Block contain how many rows.

I'm not sure what to elaborate...
- Different rows will be different lengths, so different numbers will fit into a fixed length block
- As blocks fill up due to inserts and/or updates and empty out due to deletes, they will either get marked as available for inserts or marked unavailable for inserts. The exact mechanisms here will depend on your Oracle configuration.
- Rows can start off in one block and can be migrated to different blocks and/or chained across multiple blocks as a result of update operations that increase the size of the row.

Not sure if this would solve your requirment but just in case might be helpful:
1. We can mix up the HTML and HTMLB components in the JSP Page. However, can access only the HTMLB components in the controller. The following link refers to what customizations are offered by the HTMLB framework:

2. Another option would be to use AbstractPortalComponents or a simple web app if that's feasible. (where custom UI themes, css and layout are more in control of the developers.)

Its not a corrupted block but a fractured block and also the object is not there anymore. So there is nothing that you are supposed to do.

Access Denied in the Service Request related info - Custom object 4

Hi guys,
Recently I'm facing with such issue, I associate CustomObject4 with SR in SR related info and grant appopriate access right in access profile (both SR, CO4 in SR related info and CO4, both owner and default profile) and record type access to a user role. Meanwhile access right of this role in (SR)book is set to Read-Only. But it displays access denied 00553 error when the user is viewing SR not owned by himself.
Then we test on the access right of this role in book, this error just keep on when we change the right to Full. Finally, we change the right to an access profile(which is the same applied in role management), this error then disappeared.
Do anyone have some idea about it? I'm thinking book do have impact on the access right of the record type related info. But cannot figure out how this works.

Hi Cameron,
First of all, books record type is opened to the role both owner and default profile. While I think this item controls the access of the role to books, such as they can see books or other exact rights. But won't affect their access rights which are set in the books. This means I suppose even they have no access to books record type, their access rights still obey setting in the books once assigned. Please kindly advise if I'm not understanding books correctly.

Refer to metalink Note:77587.1. You may need to do further sanity block checking by placing the following parameters in the database instance init.ora parameter file:
db_block_checking=true
db_block_checksum=true
dbblock_cache_protect= true
Consult Oracle support before changing hidden parameters.

Write formula on custom object the related info fields

Hello,
We have a custom object attached to service request as related info. We don't use fields appear under the related info, which are quick search 1, 2. Would it be possible we write a syntax to their default value so they will copy from other fields of the same custom object?
for example, i tried to wrote the default value of quick search 1 as
" [<Type>] ", but it didn't work. :P

Running the CheckDB in the transaction DB13 and i get the following

you have to check, if the block 9986 in file 3 is allocated and used in an active segment.
If it is an index ... you can easily rebuild it and the problem is gone... but if it is a table segment it is more complicated... but first check the block....

> alter system dump datafile 3 block 9986
> cd /oracle/<SID>/saptrace/usertrace
Take a look at the tracefile and check the seg/obj .. convert the hex value to a decimal ...after that query dba_objects;
> sqlplus "/ as sysdba"

Carry the account info to the related info

Hello expert,
We have field A,B,C on the account edit page (main screen) where A=B-C
Each time user will update the info in either B or C, and the update is automatically logged under Account > Related Info. Related info will have a full history of the ABC being updated.
Originally we thought to use audit trail but realized it doesn't tie to account. Are there any other way we can solve this issue?
I am very new to siebel ondemand...and really appreciate if you can help me with this.

You can display all the records (Activities with type as Audit) for an Account.
1. Create a new report based on Activity Object.
2. Add Account ID as a prompt in the report.

How to get current tab name or tab id or related info?

I would like to hide/show tabs according to users' page privileges list. So I need get current tab ID or tab Name in runtime environment to know if show/hide it for current user. :APP_USER

Java blocking related problem

This question is related to other questions in this discussion thread, but about a different aspect.
The program on my QNAP NAS uses Java to bring up the dialog for the selection of files to upload. Each time Java is updated this code has the problem that it doesn't find Java activated. Some other programs seem to do this themselves, but alas the QNAP code does not. A workaround is usually not to use Safari but Firefox. However, today even that didn't do the trick. Only after accessing a site whose code does activate Java itself, is the QNAP code satisfied. As I have no control over QNAP's code (and content with the current version of its system) I would like to know if there is another way to do the Java activation. Once done, I guess it will stay that way until the next Java update. Perhaps something in Terminal? I am not afraid to use that.
By the way: I have the Safari Preferences Security tab checked on "Enable JavaScript" (change and change back doesn't solve the problem, not even after quit and reopen). In the Internet plug-ins tab checkbox "Allow Java" under the button "Manage Website Settings ..." the website of the NAS is listed as having full allowances. More settings relevant to the problem I cannot find. Using the latest MacOSX.
A side note: In "Manage Website Settings ... there are four possibilities, under which "Allow Always". The strange thing here is that in contrast always an alert comes up, asking if I want to block or not. But that is the behaviour I should expect instead from selecting "Ask before Using". Is there an explanation for this? Allthough it is not so much a hindrance, I find it strange behaviour given the label.

You could try installing the Phony extension and set it to Desktop Firefox. If that allows you to connect to the server then your company's server is doing a bad job of detecting Firefox browsers.

Aligning data blocks relative to disk sectors

Hi
I Have a huge 20GB file that stores a lot of small data structures typically between 200 bytes and 20 kb. There are many millions of these small data blocks that are all stored together in a single file. I can read each data structure from a file channel by specifying the offset of the data structure in the file.
I need to read thousands of these small data structures every second. To help with this I'm using a solid state disk as the reads will be mostly random. However I can improve performance by aligning my data structures with respect to the disk sectors. The disk sector size is 4096 bytes. If I don't align them then I end up with the smaller data structures straddling two sectors in most cases. This means that performing a read on a 3KB data structure that straddles two sectors will incur a read of 8KB instead of 4KB which will hurt read performance.
What I cant figure out is how to tell where the sectors begin and end. The file channel API only gives offsets relative to the file not relative to the disk. My intuition tells me that if I knew exactly what the offset of the start of the file was relative to the disk I could work out where each sector is relative to my file and write the data structures to the disk taking this information into account, but I don't know how to do this.
I know many databases do this with their internal pages but I haven't seen anyone do it in Java so far.
Anybody else tried to do this I Java?

the 5th relation is created as the 2 tables share the common column as shown in the relation. The no of rows of records inserted should be the same in both tables.
Problem here is no records are inserted into table schseq. When I debug, I found schseq.route_id is null until I assign it again before the form commit. If I do so, it will insert the last record in table schseq not all the records.
Can anybody help me to solve this problem ?
