Blog appears to be long, no longer displays last few entries in MSIE
Hi everyone,
I have an interesting issue cropping up with blogs in iWeb 08.
I have a blog on a friends website created in iWeb 08 on a .mac server. It appears to look fine on most browsers except a few of the latest build of MS Internet Explorer.
The last few entries from around Oct 6 onwards do not show. In Safari, Opera, Firefox all fine. But in IE on certain PC's the entries do not show and it says error with page.
I have republished the page.
I have emptied the cache/History/Cab/Temp files on the culprit PC's
I have attempted a reinstall of Internet Explorer.
None of these thing appears to have changed the way it is displayed on certain computers.

Anyone have any ideas what could possible be causing this issue for some Internet Explorer users?
This issue eventually went away as browser upgrades and then iLife 09 seemed to resolve the issue.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, 10.9.1, pictures that come attached to emails no longer display. There is only a blank space that after about 1 minute, has a small box with a question mark. Double clicking on the box will open the image in a separate window. It's very slow and tedious for multiple images. How can I go back to attached and displayed images? If I click on "Forward", the images appear instantly in the email to be forwarded.

My problem seemed to fix itself. Or, by shutting down the computer one night, instead of putting it to sleep, may have reset something. Since updating to Mavericks, I always (or usually) let the computer sleep overnight or anytime I'm walking away from it. A few days ago, I was updating notes for my kids about how to find all my stuff and how to turn on my computer, so I wanted to rewrite the start-up procedures for the iMac, just in case they ever need to. Well, I shut it down one night so the following morning, I could write down each step. Lo and behold, the images, etc. are all there again! Solved, but I'm not sure why.

ICal no longer displays caldav calendar but it's still there...
I find myself to have a strange problem... iCal no longer display a caldav calendar (which is my work exchange calendar via davmail app). But, it still appears to be there. In iTunes it is still listed in the calendars which can be synchronized with my iPhone. In fact, it is still synchronizing with my iPhone and up to date. If I add a new identical caldav calender in iCal, iCal only displays one calendar, as if there are no more, but in iTunes then two identical calendars are listed and on my iPhone all events are displayed double...
Any suggestion to get my calendar displayed in iCal again, or alternatively, how to remove the hidden agenda from the system so that I can resetup the calendar? By the way, I also have an MobileMe calendar running.
I look forward to receiving some hints as I am not yet able to solve this one.
Cheers!Problem solved by myself Rebuild the calendar database by exporting the ical archive and then importing it. After that the hidden agenda was gone in Itunes. After a fresh set up of the caldav calendar in iCal it was back in iCal and iTunes. The mysterious ghost agenda is gone. Hope that this explanation may help someone else in the future.

Desktop is no longer displaying all the colors on it's monitor.
My desktop computer is no longer displaying all the colors on its montior. I've replaced the monitor with a known good one and the problem remains the same. The desktop is 6 months old and when I purchased it, the first one had to be replaced because of this exact same issue. This appears to be a common problem. Is anyone else experienced this is issue and has HP recalled any of these specific desktop's because of it?
Wjile there can be no consolation with your plight, you do have the replacement option under warrant. BTW, it does help if you state the exact model or product #. Saying a "series" is like called out that I had a Chevy.

Images no longer display properly in Firefox
I use ancestry.com where they have a lot of images of documents - not PDFs - and this morning they no longer display, but instead seem to show underlying html or other code. I noticed in the google home page, the icon for the google apps no longer appears - really odd things are happening. Most web sites are fine. Have screened three ways for malware, downloaded and installed latest Firefox browser - no change.
I have a screen image that shows the issue, but can't figure out how to post it here.You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Alerts for recurring events in iCal no longer display on iPhone after iOS5 upgrade
That pretty much says it. I have a daily meeting in my iCal, with two alarms set, one for 15 minutes before and one for 5 minutes before. The alerts no longer display on my phone after the upgrade. (They appear on my Mac no problem.) Has anyone else seen this problem? I have notifications turned on for iCal , set to Alerts. Tried badges, tried turning notifications off then on, to no avail. It doesn't display for recurring events that were in my calendar before the upgrade and for those created after the upgrade. I don't seem to have a problem with regular i.e. non-recurring events. Doesn't seem to matte also if it is the default calendar or a different calendar either. (I tried Reminders and that worked fine, but I don't want to have type all of my recurring events in to iCal and then in to Reminders as well....)
Thanks very muchI'm having the same problem on my iMac (works on a different phone on my MBP). I restored the iphone and no dice. I'm also constantly getting a beach ball... Hope someone out there knows a workaround.

Outlook 2010 no longer displays the calendar and my contacts.
After installing icloud, my Outlook 2010 no longer displays the calendar and my contacts, except in the icloud calendar and contacts listing. How do I restore Outlook calendar and contacts?
Thanks Julian for the suggestion. Unfortunately all still checked out and nothing amiss. However, after reinstalling OS 10.6.8 it appears that my calendar items are syncing once again, but not my contacts. I appreciate the suggestion none the less.
This same thing seems to happen each time I've upgraded Office with the associated version of Entourage, and now Outlook. Ah, well..nothing's ever simple. But I am thoroughly enjoying Outlook and the rest of the Office suite. -
My iPod no longer displays artwork for certain albums
Ok, so here's my problem. Every so often when I alter the artwork on my iPod with iTunes, I have to reset the artwork by clicking the "display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox in my menu, then clicking apply, and repeating the process to redisplay them. If I don't do this, sometimes I wind up with a black box where the artwork would normally be displayed when I peruse my iPod. I know that this is a common problem for some people so hopefully there are some on this site and know what I'm talking about. Anyway, to my current problem, when I attempted to do that last night, it was just about at the end of the progress bar when an error message appeared that said "The iPod 'name' cannot be synched. An unknown error occurred (-50)." So, because it didn't complete the cycle, certain albums no longer display the artwork. It's still there on my iPod when I go into iTunes, but when I go through the actual menus on my iPod such as Cover Flow etc. I instead see that annoying box with the musical note in it. Has anyone come across this problem before? I would very much appreciate a solution
I just tried it again and this time a different message showed up "The iPod 'name' cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found." I have no clue what folder it could be talking about.

Can anyone help me on this one? I got my IPAD 2 in June 2011. It never gave problems until a few days ago. It began to "hang", becoming non-responsive to all buttons. Then just yesterday morning, it went totally black. The display no longer displays. The Battery was charged 96%. I tried the power adapter, but had the same result. I tried the resetting, holding the two buttons for 10 seconds or more but no result. I have already restored it to the factory setting,(via my PC) and put back my apps etc. But after all this I still cannot see anything on the screen.
I know it is still working, because from time to timer I hear the message alerts, and other sounds.
Waht is the likely solution?Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

DNG files created with LR4 no longer display thumbnails w/ FastPictureViewer & Win7
I've been using the FastPictureViewer Codec pack so that DNG and camera RAW files show as thumbnails in Explorer for quite some time. Upon upgrading to LR4, DNG files no longer display as thumbnails, but as the generic Windows icon for an image.
Upon researching the issue, and upgrading the Codecs from the supplier (which still did not fix the issue), the supplier tells me the following:
What we solved [in the update] was a crash with the new files. Adobe did not document their
changes, so there is not much we can do except ignore the files. This is
what happens when owners of proprietary formats decide to change stuff
without notice
If you turn off the "fast load" and "lossy" options the DNG will still be
created following the published 1.3 specification and will work with 3rd
party software including ours.
The "new DNGs" are for Adobe private use only at the moment. We don't know
(beyond vague promises on employees personal blogs) if they will ever
document what they did and publish an updated specification, they are
certainly under no obligation to do so. The decision they took not to
release updated DNG specs even before LR4 came out was a deliberate one.
While I resolved the problem by turning "fast load" off, I find it highly disturbing that Adobe has made undocumented changes to the DNG format that break 3rd party software. I thought the whole idea of DNG was that it was an OPEN FORMAT and was to prevent situations such as this. At least this is how they sold it to the public and their argument against "proprietary camera manufactuer RAW formats" that could "change at any time".JS4653 wrote:

Actually JS, RAW files converted to DNG with fast load checked from LR4.0 are read, thumbnails and full images are displayed in preview and with Finder in OSX Lion 10.7.3, along with keywords, EXIF data etc. I don't know whether the preview is the RAW or the fast loaded jpeg

Since I upgraded to Firefox version 3.6.10, clicking on the downward arrow at the right end of the location bar no longer displays the drop-down list of sites visited, bookmarks and addresses typed in location bar. My Tools > Options > privacy setting is to save history, and if I start typing a previously accessed website's address in the location bar, then the full address appears as a drop-down item. But not when I just click at the right end of the bar.
You can try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Search field pop-up menu no longer displays
For some reason my search field pop-up menu no longer displays. I can still search, but the results are not consistent and since the pop-up menu is missing I can't select search options like to, from, etc.
I have already recreated the envelope index and reset spotlight. Any other ideas?Right-click on a blank area of the toolbar in Mail (where the Search field should be) and choose "Customise Toolbar...". Then in the window that appears, drag the Search item back into the Toolbar.

Printing song collections no longer displays artwork
When I add music to my iTunes collection, I create a PDF of the song collection. The resulting PDF has always displayed the album art on the left, and the song list on the right for every album/song in the library.
Ever since the 10.2.1 upgrade, the album art no longer displays...there's an empty box in the spot on the left where the art should be.
Adobe reader properly displays all other PDF's I create, and properly displays the art in previous PDF's that I've created, so the problem appears to be isolated to iTunes 10.2.1.
Has anyone else encountered this, and have you found a solution?
Thanks in advance!Well, when I saw the popup advising me that 10.2.2 was available, I went ahead and did the update, hoping it would resolve the issue with missing artwork in a printed list of albums/songs, but no go - it still delivers nothing but an empty box where the artwork should be. I did follow Ed's advice and follow the link he provided to report the issue, and I suspect I'm not alone in having done so.
What I don't get is that printing has always worked perfectly until 10.2.1, which is when the artwork disappeared...it should have been a simple matter to examine that subroutine in the code and write a correction.
Perhaps it's time to look for an iTunes alternative....it seems iTunes just isn't "all that", after all? -
Cfgrid html values/valuesdisplay no longer displaying after update
Our current system is CF8 (8.0.1 with latest cumulative update 4), MS SQL server. The cumulative update was installed last week and I just discovered that the HTML cfgrids that we use no longer function correctly. All the cfgridcolumns that use values="some values" valuesdisplay=" some values" no longer display more than the initial value set (one value when dropdown appears). These cfgrids work on our development server which was also updated with latest cumulative update as well. I have tried deleting the update, installing the patch for cfgrid error, re-installing the cumulative update, overwriting the ext and css files with our development files. Nothing has corrected the issue.

All the 'active' column dropdown displays is the value returned from the query.
This occurs on cfgrids that are bound to cfc's or grids with query="" . The value displayed in dropdown is the one returned from query, the rest of list does not display.
Can anyone help me? What folders/files control the html cfgrid?Thank you for the response, I didn't see that there was a newer hotfix released afterwards that I hadn't tried. Unfortunately since I didn't have time to wait for a solution I was forced to change my code and remove the inline updateable grids. I'm not sure I trust them enough now to try again later, but if the occassion arises I may attempt again.
