Although I have the "publish to facebook" checked on my iweb account, it never leaves "publishing" mode when I command "publish site." If I don't have the facebook update checked, it publishes just fine. Any ideas?

All of the Facebook add ons in Firefox can be browsed with this [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=facebook&appver=31.0&platform=windows link] however, unfortunately there are no more Social media add ons from previous versions, if this is what you are referring to. Check out those and post back if you find something you like.

Title and description when sharing a blog post in Facebook

I want to get the title and a piece of description of my blog post when sharing on Facebook and not just a url with no text...

Problem is Matt that this is one of the things the Engineering team are just putting off and having the new web app engine and concept of "Build your own blog" to fix the issues is what is currently being run.
I know I am not the only one not happy with this approach but it is a running trend when reporting issues like with the gallery module not working right.
I am also not a fan of the current operations of bug reports where even it if it a game breaker if you try to use something because it does not work, if you the first or only one or a rare few to notice it and tell them, even in detail it wont get fixed as you know.
You have to wait for a public issue as more people realise it or a beta bug to have people moan about it live to then get fixed. But it makes BC look bad and unless your one of the few partners with a bit of clout with BC it wont get addressed unless a big enough stink is made of it.
I do not know many software developers who run this old approach and from a support stand point, while I know you cant agree or disagree with me on any of this it causes you guys a nightmare.
YOu have issues reproted, you confirm them, they stop someone doing something they need for them or their clients and push and moan at you and its with the engineers and nothing you can do other then up vote it over and over till they finally get round to fix it.
Bug fixing is one of the key things I think thats harming BC right now over new features, tags wrong, math calculation wrong, bugs preventing certain features not being useable for years...
And then new features launched with bugs on top!

How to add a Facebook send button to blog post

I am not able to get the Facebook Send button to pull the blog post's unique url to share. It pulls the main blog url.
I added the Facebook plugin code to a content holder I created because I cannot find the container.html, so I decided to make my own Facebook module.
Then I pulled the module into my blog post list module. I want the share buttons to appear after each blog post.
What am I missing? What is the tag to pull the specific URL for the post to share it? Do I change the URL in the Facebook code: <div class="fb-share-button" data-href="https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/" data-layout="icon_link"></div> ?
I think this link pulls the button itself from Facebook?
When I call up my module in the blog list it looks like this:

I don't have an answer for you, but I do have a question. You said the FB code works. What did you do? What did you put in your html page? I tried the FB code above and it gives me an ID error. Getting my blog posts from IWeb interfaced with Facebook

How do I get my blog posts, created on IWeb, and through Networked Blogs to sync with my Facebook page? I cant seem to get the individual posts available to post in my Facebook status bar. No posts from blog are visible...any ideas?

Problem with sharing blog articles on Facebook

When we try to share our blog articles, Facebook doesn't seem to be able to fetch the titles, text and images from the individual blog articles. Is there anyway we can achieve this? We just wrote a post about us being Adobe Site of the Day, but when we try to share the link http://www.copycat.no/_blog/ccblogg/post/CopyCat_er_Adobe_Muse_Site_of_the_Day!/ on Facebook, all that shows up is the page title "CopyCat® | Blogg", a wrong picture and no text. What can we do to make Facebook find more information from the blog post?

As Liam suggested, in order to take the guesswork out of which data Facebook pulls from your page when you share it, you can take action and add <meta> tag data to your page that Facebook recognizes when you share it.
For instance, to make sure the right description is added, use this meta tag in the head of your html doc:
<meta property="og:description" content="Your decription here"/>
Or to make sure the preview image is a specific one for your blog post:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://mysite.com/myimage.jpg">
Note: For images, make sure to use the FULL ABSOLUTE URL with http:// or https:// in the og:image meta tag for it to work.

Can you set up a subscription service so blog posts are emailed to subscribers

I would like to allow people to sign up to receive my blog posts via email (ie like how they can in blogger etc) but can't see anywhere to do this?

I guess it depends who your targets are - do they have any interest in modern forms of social media or is email even a push for them.
To be able to add a blog post about an important update/thing to do and have it emailed out provides both an easy online place for people to look back over the information as well as the immediate provision of information via email, without me having to both email the people the information and also provide an online back up of that information.
In this case it is creating double the work.
I know I check my email several times a day (OK more than that, lol), social media - facebook - a couple of times a week (so I miss a lot), twitter - nearly never.
How have I found out about most things (personally) in the last two years? - via word of mouth or email.
The market I am working with I would say mostly word of mouth (or frustratingly not enough of that) so am hoping to provide the information via the website and encourage people to check the website more regularly but also know when there is important updates available.
I don't want to have to email out the updates and also blog them for posterity.
It doesn't appear every other blogging software company agrees with you as a subscription service is always available and well utilised.
(oh and I will say I don't think business catalyst was the perfect platform for this site, but I inherited it).

IWeb blog updates on Facebook

When I update my blog, it is immediately published on my Facebook page, but the link redirects you to the main page and not the most recent blog post. Can I change some settings to make that work? I don't want my FB friends to have to navigate first to the meta-blog page then to the most recent post...

Yeah, it's not the kind of thing you want to have thrown at you, but neither is it a big surprise. With gift cards, and rebate cards like Verizon issues becoming more popular, there's going to be an increasing need to be able to do this sort of thing, so might as well dive in, program for it and be prepared to serve our clients. eCommerce is a continually moving target, and I see it as my job to stay up with it.    Just one more reason to love the banks and all they do to, um, er... I mean "for" us :-)

Post On Facebook Using WebAuthenticationBroker

to integrate post on facebook in my app but i am getting 'UserCancel' response from webauthenticationbroker when returning to app. The only difference between my app and the above provided demo app is that he used mainpage for facebook but i used basic page.
I am not able to find out the reason. Can anyone help me out to solve this?

Automate iWeb Blog Posts from Mail

Would it possible to use Automator to fetch text from an email with a keyword or from a certain sender that would then be put into a blog post in iWeb? I know that there is an "iWeb Action Pack" for Automator that gives it similar functionality when adding pictures or movies.
I ask because I'm looking to be able to post blog entries from a Windows computer at on the go or elsewhere. Does that seem feasible? If not, why not? If so, would you please suggest a reference I could use?

IWeb Stops Midway Through Blog Posts

I've tried using iWeb 09 a couple of times. I have a large number of blog posts, and it gives an error message that it is unable to create a page when it reaches this page: http://web.mac.com/tehart/JurassicRants/Blog/Entries/2007/9/15_A_ForbiddenPleasure.html. It then quits publishing.
The site publishes fine with iWeb 08, but I've been unable to use '09 for anything.

The Facebook issue could be cookies.
From your Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click: Show Cookies
Delete all Facebook related cookies, click Done.
*Relaunch Safari* and try uploading images to FB. If that doesn't help, you may need to uninstall the FBplugin then reinstall new.

LR posted to Facebook is no longer working for me. Says album name cannot be assigned.

Before the last update to LR I could post to Facebook via LR with no issues.
After the update I get the message something to the effect of Album name cannot be assigned. I have tried with and without spaces in the name and same outcome.
Any suggestions?

How do I set the audience privacy for when I’m using Siri on my iPhone 5 to post to Facebook?
When I ask Siri to post a message to my Facebook Siri tells me what I have said and then asks tot post it, I then checked on my computer and the post is visible to "ME ONLY" I can change this on the computer and on my phone via the App but I do not want to be doing that all the time.
If I post to Facebook via Siri on my iPhone 5 I want it at the default setting of friends only.
So How do I change this?
I posted the first one 2 minutes ago then went into Facebook via the App and changed it but did a second one hoping that the default privacy had changed but it was again to me only. As you can see via the padlock. Please help. Thanks

How to post multiple images in one blog post using iweb

I would like to post multiple images in a single blog post. When ever I add a second or third image in the "entry" section of iweb, it does not show up in the blog post on the homepage of the blog. does anyone know if it is even possible to have multiple, separate images in one post, and if so, how.

I would really like to break out of the one box (placeholder) mold. I feel so constrained in iweb right now. How do I link to a .pdf file in a blog post?

I have a created a new blog post and want to link to a .pdf file. I have the file loaded to the file manager but when I click on the link icon in the editor the only files that show up are web pages.
Is there a way to link to a file other than setting up the link other than writing the HTML by hand?

I totally agree with you on the confusion of that form for the literature module. Even after I have used it a lot I still find myself trying to upload the file at the same time. As you say - it only makes sense. But you'll get used to it. ;-)
As far as the module way of doing it instead of coding it in, there is so much more flexibility this way. In your example you have one document which isn't bad ... but what if you had to list 100 documents in your page that are located in several different locations on the server? Now it's a simple task of adding one tag and your done.
Other advantages:
1: Your documents can be found in the site search
2: Recods and displays file type and size to the viewer so they can choose to download it or not.
There is more but after years of the individual code way, I so love this Literature Module and the flexibility it gives.
