Blog Updating made simple?

Good afternoon! I am a newbie to web publishing and want to know how I should go about updating blog enteries in the most efficient way with iWeb. I am publishing my site to a folder on my desktop for uploading to my server using CyberDuck.
Do I have to re-publish the whole "blog" folder or bits of it? And if I publish bits of it, say one entry html and its associated file, is my archive and pictures going to be all screwed up? And finally, why does a site update simply at .mac (with all of the links and buttons the right color and whatnot) while the same info to the folder results in inconsistent results? Am I doing something wrong during the publish process?

Since you are going to be uploading your files to your own server, you will have to use iWeb's "Publish to Folder" option which does indeed publish the whole site everytime. With most FTP programs there is no choice but to upload the whole site each time to your server as well. This seems prohibitive, to say the least.
I have heard good things about an alternative FTP program called "CaptainFTP". This program has a built in synchronization feature that allows you to have to upload just the changed files to your server. I believe that you have to tell it to ignore file dates for this to work with iWeb's "Publish to Folder". You can find more info about the program here... http://captainftp.xdsnet.de/

PS. Both URLs look to have identical content to me. So you are uploading correctly. I would not recommend uploading things piecemeal by hand if you can avoid it.

There are literally thousands of sites with videos (linked to from yet thousands more) that will prompt you to "upgrade" or update your already updated Flash Player. This is the most common method of delivery for malware like that.

Ever since the update to OS 5 software I haven't been able to sign in with the new apple id or sign in with the former apple id (software update made me change the id and password). I've also lost ability to update apps on computer. ARGH

I can't sign into itunes on my ipad (original) since the software update. Genius can't help-says its Itunes support I need, but they don't help either (tell me to reset password) which I've done several times. Can't update apps on my home computer either. Update made me change Apple id, so now it thinks I have two ids, but won't let me sign in for old one. I pad won't work at all. Frustrated beyond belief and get NO HELP from apple.

No. The problem is that when you changed Apple IDs you did not update your Apple ID to reflect the change, so your phone is still associated with the old ID. You will need to un-associate it. I have created the same scenario as mentioned in Siva's weblog (Lookup's in XI made simpler).
I having some doubts regarding the scenario, it will be great if you help me to resolve the same.
I am having a file-file scenario where I need to do lookup in database(MS-Access) through mapping.
The standard file-file scenario is in place and in addition I have created a receiver jdbc channel . I have also created the receiver agreement for the same in the cofiguration.
While creating the receiver agreement you have to specify the interface name which includes the message typeI have specified the normal format which we specify while configuring the jdbc receiver adapter.
In the message mapping I have created a advance user defined function as mentioned in your weblog which calls my receiver jdbc channel.
I have also specified the select query to be executed in the mapping program.
While testing I am getting the following error
Cannot produce target element /ns0:Role_MT/URole. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd

Can the specific changes/updates made to a customer be captured with the detail of changes?

One of our 11i Customer placed the below requirement:
We are creating a report that will extract customers that have changed or updated in Oracle. The user requested to include also the specific change made to the customer. Is there a way that we can capture what are the changes/updates made to a customer?
We understand that the last update date and updated by could be tracked. But, is it possible to find what change was done in which field?
Gurus, kindly respond.

This will only tell you if the user you're interested in was the most recent person to update that table, but not what they did, and if they were not the most recent, then all trace will be gone.
Have you considered enabling auditing? It's not going to provide details of anything which has already happened, but it keeps fairly detailed records, but at the cost of a large performance hit.

Can i see the LAST UPDATE made?

I was wondering if there is a way to list all the recent updates made by my iBook..Be it iTunes update or anything else..
And is there anyway that i can undo the last update made?
This is bcoz i guess i tried to update my system, and the only available update was for the iTunes..I said a YES to it..But after this, there have been problems for the iTunes..Everytime i switch on iTunes, it takes atleast 60-90 secs to get stable..Only then am i able to click a song, and listen to it..
Are there ways to undo the last update??

Undoing an update may be a bit complicated. If you manually downloaded the iTunes 4.9 installer, you can simply delete the copy of iTunes in your Applications folder and re-install it. However, Apple doesn't usually make the previous versions available. For example, now that there is a 5.0.1 update available, the 4.8, 4.9, and 5.0 versions are not available from Apple directly. If you're having trouble with your new version of iTunes, again, I would recommend you visit the iTunes forum and see if anyone else has already encountered and, maybe, fixed the same issue(s) you're having.

How to see the last updates made during Power Nap?

I am using MacBook Pro with Retina Display with Power Nap turned on. I think it's a great feature, but I wouyld like more control — to be able to see the updates it has made while sleeping.
Is there any way to see the last updates made during Power Nap? Maybe some logs etc.

You can see updates installed via Software Update by clicking on the Apple > About this Mac > more info > System Report > scroll down to Software > Installations. That is a comprehensive list - you won't find a separate list of the last hour or whatever (that I know of). There might be a terminal command for that - or not - I don't know of one.
FWIW, I like to know what updates are being installed when, so I do not allow automatic download/installs of anything - I allow automatic checking so I get a notification that an update is available, but then I prefer to choose if/when I will download and install.

Blog update not showing up

I maintain a blog on my website (http://web.mac.com/kurtzjack/) but an entry I did last night, with a photo and text, is not showing up on the entry's page (http://web.mac.com/kurtzjack/jacksjoint/My_Occasional_Blog/Entries/2008/4/30_StackingTortillas.html).
What's got me stumped is that they do show up on the blog page of the website (http://web.mac.com/kurtzjack/jacksjoint/My_Occasional_Blog/My_OccasionalBlog.html)
Is this a problem on the .mac servers or do I have some weird thing going on with iWeb.

Email notification for blog updates

Are you kidding me? Wordpress, and everyone else offers email notification for blog updates. But iWeb doesn't? There is no widget we can use or anything? Just the RSS subscribe button provided? I even tried going through Feedburner, but that doesn't help. You would think iWeb would offer what is pretty commonplace these days. Help?

The iWeb blog is not very good or user friendly - you need to have access to a Mac and iWeb to update it.
I don't use it myself, preferring to create my own blog in WordPress. On my old website I used to display my blog as an iframe on my site, but now that I have updated my site, I just create a link to it from my site and it opens in a new frame.
I find it a lot easier than using the iWeb blog - you can update online and I would not consider using iWeb blog until they improve it in updates to come.

I have the same problem, when I delete row and after that I use refresh button in internet explorer. What I do is I drag and drop button "removeEntity" and edit it in backing beans adding new bindigs that commit changes and referesh page. Code:

Can sb tell is there is normal that when I delete row in table, and after it I refresh manually by IE page is normal that I get error messages. I this is the same situation using Back in IE. Deleting row that is commited to database works fine, but the problem is with manually refreshing page?
Next question is about using Delete action from node instead of removeEntity, what is the difference? As you can see, I use removeEntitity method. Choosing Delete action instead doesnt works. Why? Rest of the code is the same but instead of dropping method removeEntity I drop Delete action

Blog Comments made online not loading in iWeb App

I have a photo blog that allows comments to be made. I am using this with my high school photo class so we have a lot of comments everyday. I have just updated to iLife 09. The comments are working fine on the web site but when checking the site with iWeb the comments are not being updated in the iWeb application. Everything was fine with iLife 08.
Any ideas what might be going on? Should I try republishing the entire site again?

Cannot trigger an update using simple relation and Change Tracking

I have a three entity master-detail setup. E3 has a domain key to E2 that has a domain key to E1. What I will like to see is a cascading attribute from the top (E1) being available (in the UI) for filtering in all three entities. In E1 no problem. In E2
no problem, using domain key relation and a BR for updating a secondary attribute from E1 to E2. Now, bringing the attribute further from E1 to E3 (via E2) is the issue.
1) if I make a BR in E3 that "equals" my shadow attribute in E3 to the E2.attribute, it populates the current value of the attribute, which is fine. But if the original attribute in E1 is updated the change is not reflected in E2/E3.
2) then I include the relevant attributes in E1, E2 in a change tracking group in order to catch the issue mentioned in 1). I have created a BR using "Has Changed" in CT group. But now the attributes is no longer updated at all. It is like the
first BR is being ignored. If I flag it as "Excluded", it works like in 1) again.
To me it seems like an attribute can only be updated using one "trigger", is that right? Any suggestions to how to populate a value based on the change of another attribute in the same entity as well as on an cascading update in the "parent"
entity?
This must a simple scenario for most people using multiple linked entities. Am I overcomplicating stuff here or is there a more simple approach? Any input is most appreciated.
On a side note, when is Change Tracking BR's executed? the records are flagged, but do I have to "apply BR" manually or use "validate version" for it to run? I would expect CT BT to execute in the background.

ITunes 9.2 update made all my icons into iTunes ones

Hello everybody !
First thank you for taking the time to read my post and maybe you could help me =)
So I updated iTunes to 9.2 version this morning in order to upgrade my iPhone to ios4.
After that my old iTunes icon became blank so I right-clicked on it to assign it on iTunes.exe again.
I was so not inspired ! That action made all my icons become iTunes icons. All exe icons on my desktop, in my folder... are now iTunes icons.
I tried everything. Run anti-virus (no one detected), uninstall, reinstall iTunes...
The only way I can retrieve my old icons is to uninstall iTunes. But as soon that I reinstall iTunes, all my icons turn into the dark side of iTunes again...
I am kind of desperate. How can I sync my iPhone from now on?
Did anyone had this problem?
What should I do?

Same problem here, on a WinXP-Pro sp 2 box, Pentium 4 custom box with a Radeon 9800 graphics card. Happy to track down DLL versions or generate logs if anyone knows anything that might help troubleshoot this...
