Hello,
Welcome to the User Discussion Forums.
If you would like to use Bloggie Software with photos and videos previously taken and stored on your computer, click on the "Import" button located in the lower left hand corner and navigate within the Windows dialog to where your photos and videos are located.
Bloggie Software currently only supports JPG image and MP4 video formats for import.
As for headphones via HDMI, thank you for your suggestion, we will forward your comments for review.

  • Bloggie MHS-FS3

    Hi,
I just bought a Bloggie MHS-FS3 and I just had a terrible experience with the online support, one hour of question and nothing, please forgive e if I'm not in my best mood right now.
My Bloggie is connected wth my computer ad my computer is connected with a 3D TV. The camera comes with a sample of a guy in bike, I was able to transfer it to PC with Sony software and that sample works perfectly with my active glasses and my 3D TV (Samsung). Like all good 3D contend that I saw, that sample has "twin" images until you activate the 3D in the TV to merge the images.
The problem is that the movies that I shoot in 3D are not in that "twin" or double format. I can see them in 3D in the LCD camera, but they are not in 3D when transferred via Sony software.
I really need some help here, I think that this matter is not that difficult to understand, but it tooks one hour for a Sony professional to say me nothing.
I already did firmware ugrade (to 1.09 first thing I did) ad I don't have any problems with other 3D contents in my TV stremed from my computer.
    Thanks, I'd appreciate your help.

    Hello 3D fan
Welcome to the User Discussion forums.
If your subject is moving, or is too close or too far away, then the desired 3D effect may not be produced. Any of these scenarios can cause focusing issues that interfere with the 3D effect and prevent the video from appearing to be in 3D. Also The 3D effect is not as dramatic for subjects near the edge of the frame. Therefore, it is recommended your subject be positioned in the center of the frame when recording 3D video.
Try shooting 3D video at varying distances to determine what works best for you in your shooting situation.
Also here are some Tips for capturing 3D movies.
    1. Hold the camera in a horizontal position.
    2. Position the subject and background within the frame of the LCD screen.
    3. Pan the camera left or right slowly, while confirming the 3D effect displayed on the LCD screen.
    Notes:
The Zoom and SteadyShot functions are not available while recording 3D images.
3D shooting is only available for 1920×1080 size images.
3D shooting is not possible with the 360 Video Lens (MHS-FS3K only)

  • MHS-TS10 photo printing??

Just received a MHS-TS10 for Christmas. Is it possible to print photos from the Bloggie software? I can't seem to find a way to print my photos. I tried to drag my photos into my photos file on the desktop to print, with no luck. Am I missing something obvious, as it seems you should be able to print your photos?

  • Sony Bloggie MHS-TS20

Recently purchased this Bloggie from Costco. I have taken both video and still with this camera and have installed the software on my computer. I connected the Bloggie to my computer via the USB flip and expected it to upload my video and stills. After leaving it connected for 2 days, the Bloggie still hasn't uploaded most of my video or stills. I don't have much video or stills so I can't imagine it would take so long to upload. I don't get any error messages, just a box saying "importing". Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • SONY Bloggie MHS-TS20 install issue

I bought a SONY Bloggie Touch MHS-TS20 and am trying to launch the software. I get so far as installing it and says 'starting', but then i get directed to a google chrome page that says:
" oops! google chrome could not connect to localhost:2468" then nothing. I've tried un-installing it and re-installing but I get the same error message everytime. I'm using an HP with Vista.

    Hello All,
Out of curiosity - Have you tried to disable the Firewall software prior to installing the software? I know when I did the install (I don't use google chrome) but Windows Firewall did require that I "Allow" the bloggie software access to the internet.
Try disabling your Firewall software be it Symantec, Norton, McAfee or Windows - Then install the software and see if you have the problem.

  • Problem with SD card and Sony Bloggie MHS-CM5

I have just bought a Sony Bloggie model MHS-CM5 and a SanDisk SDHC (number 4) 4gb card. For some reason when I turn it on, it was saying "error formatting sd card" or something very similar. I did some research and saw a problem somewhat similar, tried connecting to my computer, taking the battery out and back in, formatting card from camera options, and now it is saying there is no space on the memory card when it is brand new. I am fairly good with these things and I am stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated!

A SDHC type 4 4GB card should work fine with your bloggie, so try the card in another device and try another card in your bloggie to establish which is having the issue. If you find that the bloggie is having issues with several different cards it may need service. Give Sony support a call and they will be happy to help:

    Hello,
Welcome to the User Discussion Forums
    For the main tips when Shooting 3D;
Hold the camera in a horizontal position.
Position the subject and background within the frame of the LCD screen.
NOTE: For best results, it is recommended to position a scene that has both close and far away objects.
Pan the camera left or right slowly, while confirming the 3D effect displayed on the LCD screen.
NOTE: The Zoom and SteadyShot functions are not available while recording 3D images.
and finally, have fun! and don't get too close to your subject (about 4 feet is optimal).

  • Sony Bloggie MHS-CM5 need to completely disable SteadyShot

Has anyone discovered a hack to completely disable SteadyShot, the motor? Even when shooting 720p at 60fps where the SteadyShot is suppose to be inactive I find it still on. Unfathomably, using the camera on a tripod actually gives me a shakey picture (not to metion a loud adiable grind sound everytime the SteadyShot kicks in), which makes the camera footage worthless. At this point I am finding it hard to believe this camera ever made it to retail as the SteadyShot completely ruins the picture and adds the kinda noise to the audio one woudl associate with old film cameras. It's really, really bad. If anyone knows how I can kill the SteadyShot completely I'd appreciate it.

    Hi Eliah,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
There is an option to turn OFF Steadyshot option under “Shooting menu” of the Camera.  The camera shake reduction function works only in [640 × 480 30P] or [1280 × 720 30P] mode.
Information about this option is mentioned on page # 40 of the Handbook:

  • Quality, Export, and Compression help (pic included)

I'm working on an edit of my RTW trip and am struggling to figure out some quality issues. Video was captured by 3 cameras (a JVC everio, a GoPro Hero 2, and a Droid 4). All record in HD (720 or 1080). I figured I would use the lowest common denominator and converted all the video in MPEG streamclip to be 1280x720 HD, using Apple Intermediate Codec and 100% quality. I have the whole timeline basically finished in FCE, but I'm trying to refine it now and I'm really bothered by the quality. It doesn't look HD at all...it looks really pixelated. Below is a screenshot of my viewer, which is at 100%. Note the edges where the blue arrows point-they're all jagged.
It looks decent at 100% but that is not even 1/6th of my screen. If I go up to 200% it looks like crap. Is this just because I'm editing on a 26" iMac and my screen is so big that I need 1080p or 4K to look good at full screen? When I cropped the 100% screenshot in Preview I noticed that it is 640x360 pixels...exactly half of 1280x720 like I would expect. Why is that? How do I get the quality to be like it should? Am I losing it in MPEG Streamclip or Final Cut? I haven't even started the export battle, which always infuriates me with how bad the quality comes out if the video is a reasonable file size (This video is 5m40s, I feel like 100MB or less is reasonable for streaming right?)
Thanks a ton for the help. I really want to finish this edit this week but want to make sure I do my trip of a lifetime justice.

1.) Any advice for resizing the 1080 clips?
Go to the first clip in your timeline that is 1080 and looks incorrectly sized. Double click on that clip in the timeline, you will see the clip open in the Viewer. Once it does that, in the Viewer, click on the Motion tab, and then adjust the Scale paddle until the frame is just filled. Once that is done, type Command + C to copy the clip and the settings adjustment you made.
Now go to the next instance of a 1080 clip in your timeline and click on it to select it. If there a bunch together you can hold down the shift key while you click on the clips and select as many as you want at a time. Once you have made the selection, type Option + V to paste the attributes from the clip you had just copied. The Paste Attributes window should open, and you want to check the Basic Motion box and keep everything else unchecked. Then click OK, and the clips you had selected should now all be resized.
2.) Some of the clips still have blurry frames. Now that I have the sequence totally edited and don't need to trim/move clips all the time, if I use the raw source video (not optimized for Final Cut via MPEG streamclip and the Apple Intermediate Codec) in Final Cut, will the quality be better or will it be the same/not work at all?
Final Cut Express will only work with HD material in Apple Intermediate codec. You were smart to convert the footage prior to editing. Are the clips that look blurry the 1080 clips? At any rate, you may need to render your timeline, see if any colored render bars are showing on the timeline (rendering will occur automatically when you export your finished movie).

  • Applescript and InDesign: Packaging/exporting -- can you help?

I found and tweaked a droplet script that isn't quite working right. I tried and failed to learn to do this myself. Any help is greatly appreciated! This is for InDesign CS6 -- you don't really need to know InDesign in order to help (at least I don't think so).
For the moment, I simply drag multiple InDesign files (for this example, "filename1.indd" and "filename2.indd") onto the droplet. InDesign packages them separately and outputs PDFs into each output folder. The problem is that it's creating too many folders and not putting things where I want.
Another thing: when InDesign packages a file, it creates a "Instructions.txt" file for each package that I need deleted. I'd really like this added to the script as well. Is it possible?
    Current output (messy!)
    Desired output (perfect!)
    "exports" folder
         "filename1" folder
              filename1.pdf
              "filename1" folder
                   filename1.indd
                   Instructions.txt
         "filename2" folder
              filename2.pdf
              "filename2" folder
                   filename2.indd
                   Instructions.txt
baseFolder <--- directory of original files
         "filename1" folder
              filename1.indd
              "PDF" folder
                   filename1.pdf
         "filename2" folder
              filename2.indd
              "PDF" folder
                   filename2.pdf
Here's the script I have so far:
property baseFolder : (path to desktop as text) & "exports:"
    on open mgItems
         repeat with mgThisItem in mgItems
              tell application id "com.adobe.InDesign"
                   try
              open mgThisItem
set mgDocName to name of active document
set text item delimiters of AppleScript to ".indd"
set mgShortName to text item 1 of mgDocName
                   set targetFolderPath to my createFolder(mgShortName)
set text item delimiters of AppleScript to ""
set mgPackageFilePath to targetFolderPath & mgShortName as string
set mgProofFilePath to mgPackageFilePath & ".pdf" as string
set properties of PDF export preferences to properties of PDF export preset "[Smallest File Size]"
tell the active document to export format PDF type to mgProofFilePath without showing options
tell the active document to package to mgPackageFilePath with copying fonts, ignore preflight errors, copying profiles, updating graphics, including hidden layers, copying linked graphics and creating report
      close active document saving no
                   on error e
                        display dialog e
                   end try
              end tell
         end repeat
display dialog "PDFs created and InDesign file packaged"
    end open
    on createFolder(nameString)
set macFolderPath to baseFolder & nameString
do shell script "mkdir -p " & quoted form of POSIX path of macFolderPath
         return macFolderPath & ":"
    end createFolder
    Thanks very much!

Easy enough. Note that I've moved things around a little to make a nicer flow:
    on open mgItems
      --make a date slug
set shortDateString to short date string of (current date)
              set {oldTID, my text item delimiters} to {my text item delimiters, "/"}
set dateBits to (text items of shortDateString)
set my text item delimiters to ""
set datePrefixString to (text item 3 of dateBits & text items 1 thru 2 of dateBits & "_Release") as text
set my text item delimiters to oldTID
              repeat with mgThisItem in mgItems
                        tell application "System Events"
--get path of the container of the passed in object
set targetFolderPath to path of container of disk item (mgThisItem as text)
                        end tell
                        tell application id "com.adobe.InDesign"
                                  try
                                            open mgThisItem
set mgDocName to name of active document
set text item delimiters of AppleScript to ".indd"
set mgShortName to text item 1 of mgDocName

                                            set mgPackageFilePath to targetFolderPath & datePrefixString & ":" & mgShortName & ":"
set mgProofFilePath to mgPackageFilePath & "PDF:" & mgShortName & ".pdf" as string
set text item delimiters of AppleScript to ""
-- create dat folder, main folder and internal PDF folder; passing in POSIX path, though most everything ele uses HFS paths
my createFolders(POSIX path of file (mgPackageFilePath & "PDF:"))
set properties of PDF export preferences to properties of PDF export preset "[Smallest File Size]"
tell the active document to export format PDF type to mgProofFilePath without showing options
tell the active document to package to mgPackageFilePath with copying fonts, ignore preflight errors, copying profiles, updating graphics, including hidden layers, copying linked graphics and creating report

Hi Subodh. I have encountered the exact same problem. It seems that the Import & Export options under the File menu are now removed starting from version 7. This leaves another exact (yet longer) way to do this.
Here's the article that explains everything: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Importing%20bookmarks%20and%20other%20data%20from%20other%20browsers?s=import+bookmarks&r=0&as=s
