Blojsom attach podcast from server

Our faculty can record their lecutures and save the MP3 to their web directory in their account on the web server. The blojsom weblog service is running on the same server. When a faculty wants to create a weblog entry with a podcast, he or she must download the mp3 from their directory, then upload it again to the server (using the blojsom New Entry advanced posting form).
Is there a way that the mp3 file can be retrieved from the server, so to prevent the download/upload?

I copyed the mp3 to blojsom_resources/meta/USERNAME as you recommended. I then edit the meta data for the posting
<PATH>/Weblogs/USERNAME/test.meta and added “rss-enclosure=file.mp3”
Then, when viewing the weblog in a web browser, the mp3 is listed.
When I create an weblog entry, and then login to the weblog and edit the entry there is no way to add the mp3 file.
I'd like a nice way for my users to do this in blojsom. If I went about adding "select file from your home directory" when adding an entry with a podcast, where would I start?

    Thanks for  the help,
    Avi.

    This is the place where you need to read your file contents:
    In case of File attachments
         WHEN 'EXT'.
          Upload the file contents using open dataset in lt_doc_content .
          Some conversion ( Compress ) might be required.
          Not sure at this point
    Then for the object key - debug to find what is being passed when you attach something to a delivery  - alternately look in table SRGBTBREL for details
    Here is a typical example:
    Rel. type                         ATTA
    Instance ID     (INSTID A)        <delivery number>
    Object Type     (TYPEID A)        LIKP

    How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
    Eric Steven Raymond
    Rick Moen
    Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
    We've found by experience that people who are careless and sloppy writers are usually also careless and sloppy at thinking and coding (often enough to bet on, anyway). Answering questions for careless and sloppy thinkers is not rewarding; we'd rather spend our time elsewhere.
    So expressing your question clearly and well is important. If you can't be bothered to do that, we can't be bothered to pay attention. Spend the extra effort to polish your language. It doesn't have to be stiff or formal - in fact, hacker culture values informal, slangy and humorous language used with precision. But it has to be precise; there has to be some indication that you're thinking and paying attention.
    Spell, punctuate, and capitalize correctly. Don't confuse "its" with "it's", "loose" with "lose", or "discrete" with "discreet". Don't TYPE IN ALL CAPS; this is read as shouting and considered rude. (All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
    More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.

  • Podcast will not load in safari from server, but will load in other Apps

    Podcast will not load in safari from iWeb Page from server, but will load in Firefox and other web apps.
    Here the problem: I have a podcast page made in iWeb. It is setting on a server with GoDaddy. When I try load page with Safari, I get where the Quicktime Playing Bars are a small Quicktime Logo w/? mark and will not download or play. But in Firefox, My iPad and in Windows side it will load and play. Also it play on a friends Macbook Pro in Safari. (Note it will play in my Safari after Firefox has play -it "very strange to me" like Firefox will open some port, but it will not stay open if quit Safari re-booth-it) I have remove the .plist for Quicktime & Safari. And clean out the Cache for Safari. Also have re-set the Firewall setting to Enable Stealth Mode only. Re-load the site to GoDaddy. This is happening to both Mac's in my network and in all users accounts.
    My Network is a A&TT with a 2Wire w/wrieless turn off. going into and Airport Extreme Base Station w/N generation network. One computer is connected with and ethernet cable to the Airport extreme base station the other is a wireless contection.
    I do feel this and network issue and I can't seem to solve-it. How can I get Safari to open the port and download and play-it on my network?

    We've only discover this yesterday. One of our listeners sent me an e-mail about-it. With a little more research this morning. I've discover that everybody I've had check-it is have the same problem only with Safari 4.0.5. So I'm starting to feel that this is an Apple Safari Bug in 4.0.5 for the Mac only. It seems to be OK everywhere else on other devices. I agree in most cases this is not a problem. But when have older people who do not download into iTunes around the world it is to them. We have 250 or more listeners a week. This is a Church podcast.
    For right now we are planing to post a message on the site saying you will not be able to listen to the podcast in Safari, but can in Firefox and ect.

  • Send mail witch attach files from forms server 6i

    How to attach file from my logical drive , and sending mail via forms web 6i ?

    Hi jean,
    there is a lot of complication involved with trying to attach files using the java web server, the best thing i have done was i have added a microsoft windows email component on to my form and invoked its methods and properties, for eg. for attaching a file u have something called as microsoft windows common controls which opens the file open dialog box. Remember , trying to build email and messeging kind of applications with oracle tools is a bit complicated as of now because windows 2000 server has additional security features equivalent to standard firewall and the java interface of oracle looks for certifications for each and every cgi request.

  • Multiple pdf attachments from server folder using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1

    Dears,
    I am trying to build a program able to send an email with multiple pdf attachments.
    The files are stored in a folder in SAP server.
    I am able to generate a pdf file from a spool and sucessfully attach it to the email using:
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF'
          IMPORTING
            bin_filesize           = v_bin_filesize
          TABLES
            otf                    = job_output_info-otfdata
            doctab_archive         = it_docs
            lines                  = it_lines
          EXCEPTIONS
            err_conv_not_possible  = 1
            err_otf_mc_noendmarker = 2
            OTHERS                 = 3.
        IF sy-subrc = 0.
          LOOP AT it_lines.
            TRANSLATE it_lines USING ' ~'.
            CONCATENATE gd_buffer it_lines INTO gd_buffer.
          ENDLOOP.
          TRANSLATE gd_buffer USING '~ '.
          DO.
            it_mess_att_aux = gd_buffer.
            APPEND it_mess_att_aux.
            SHIFT gd_buffer LEFT BY 255 PLACES.
            IF gd_buffer IS INITIAL.
              EXIT.
            ENDIF.
          ENDDO.
        ENDIF.
    Internal table it_mess_att_aux is the parameter contents_bin of FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1.
    I have now 2 files on a server folder which I would like to include as well.
    I am reading the content of the pdf files in following way:
    DATA:   gd_buffer                 TYPE string,
          OPEN DATASET lv_fileserver FOR INPUT IN BINARY MODE.
          IF sy-subrc <> 0.
            MESSAGE e257(zmsgsd) WITH lv_fileserver.
          ELSE.
            CLEAR: it_mess_att_aux[], gd_buffer.
            DO.
              READ DATASET lv_fileserver INTO gd_buffer.
              IF sy-subrc <> 0.
                EXIT.
              ENDIF.
              APPEND gd_buffer TO it_mess_att_aux.
            ENDDO.
            APPEND LINES OF it_mess_att_aux TO it_mess_att.
    I do not understand the purpose of the statement:
            TRANSLATE it_lines USING ' ~'.
    in this context. Could anyone explain it?
    All the files are attached to email with the desired name but corrupted and with the wrong size.
    Can anyone help me build the logic to attach a pdf file from server in a email?
    Thank you in advance,
    Kind Regards,
    João Cabrita

    what do you have for the content disposition header?
    Try this:
             response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "max-age=0");
             response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + fname + "\"");
             response.setContentType("application/x-download");Brenden

    Document document = builder.newDocument();

    // It gets stored as the child node of the whole document (it is the root)
    Element rootElement = document.createElement("cd");
    document.appendChild(rootElement);
    // Create an element for the CD title called <title>
    Element cdTitleElement = document.createElement("title");
    // Add a text code under the <title> element with the value that
    // the user entered into the title field of the web form (cdTitle)
    cdTitleElement.appendChild(document.createTextNode(cdTitle));
    // Place the <title> element underneath the <cd> element in the tree
    rootElement.appendChild(cdTitleElement);
    // Create an <artist> element with the form data, place underneath <cd>
    Element cdArtistElement = document.createElement("artist");
    cdArtistElement.appendChild(document.createTextNode(cdArtist));
    rootElement.appendChild(cdArtistElement);
    // Create a <tracklist> element and place it underneath <cd> in the tree
    // Note that it has no text node associated with it (it not a leaf node)
    Element trackListElement = document.createElement("tracklist");
    rootElement.appendChild(trackListElement);
    // In this example we only have one track, so it is not necessary to
    // use a loop (in fact it is quite silly)
    // But the code below is included to demonstrate how you could loop
    // through and add a set of different tracks one by one if you
    // needed to (although you would need to have the track data already
    // stored in an array or a java.util.Vector or similar
    int numTracks = 1;
    for (int i=0; i<numTracks; i++) {
      String trackNum = Integer.toString(i+1);
      Element trackElement = document.createElement("track");
      trackElement.setAttribute("id", trackNum);
      trackListElement.appendChild(trackElement);
      // Track title element called <title>, placed underneath <track>

      // Track rating element called <rating>, placed underneath <track>
      Element trackRatingElement = document.createElement("rating");
      trackRatingElement.appendChild(document.createTextNode(track1Rating));
      trackElement.appendChild(trackRatingElement);
    OutputFormat format = new OutputFormat();
    format.setIndenting(true);
    // Create a new XMLSerializer that will be used to write out the XML
    // This time we will serialize it to the socket
    // #3 change this line so that it serializes to the socket,
    // not to the "out" object
    XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer(writer, format);
    serializer.serialize(document);
            // Print out a message to indicate the end of the data, and
            // flush the stream so all the data gets sent now
            sockOut.println("<!--QUIT-->");
            sockOut.flush();
            BufferedReader stdIn = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
            String fromServer;
            String fromUser;
             #4 add a while loop that reads text from the
            server socket input stream, line by line, and prints
            it out to the web page, using out.println(...);
            Note that because the reply from the server will contain
            XML, you will need to call upon the toHTMLString() method
            defined below to escape the < and > symbols so that they
            will display correctly in the web browser.
            Also note that as you receive the reply back from the
            server, you should look out for the special <!--QUIT-->
            string that will indicate when there is no more data
            to receive.
            while ((fromServer = sockIn.readLine()) != null) {
            out.println(sockIn.readLine());
                // If the reply from the server said "QUIT", exit from the
                // while loop by using a break statement.
                if (fromServer.equals("QUIT")) {
                    out.println("Connection closed - good bye ...");
                // Print the text from the server out to the user's screen
                out.println("Reply from Server: " + fromServer);
                // Now read a line of text from the keyboard (typed by user)
                fromUser = stdIn.readLine();
                // If it wasn't null, print it out to the screen, and also
                // print a copy of it out to the socket
                if (fromUser != null) {
                    out.println("Client: " + fromUser);
                    sockOut.println(fromUser);
            // Close all the streams we have open, and then close the socket
            sockOut.close();
            sockIn.close();
            mySocket.close();
    %>
    I'm suppose to modify the commented sections labled with #.
    #1,2 are correct but i have doubts on the 3rd and 4th modification.
    for #3 i changed so i serializes to the socket not to the "out" object:
    from
    XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer(out, format);
    to
    XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer(writer, format);
    with "out" it prints out some of the results entered but it just hangs i'm thinking it might be the while loop that i added in #4. If i changed it to serialize the socket XMLSerializer serializer = new XMLSerializer(writer, format); it doesn't print out nothing at all; just a blank screen where it hangs.
    I can post the rest of the code (server thats in java and cdinput.html) but since i want to keep my post short and if required i'll post it later on i also omitted some of the code where it creates the DOM textnodes etc to keep my post short.

    On your previous thread, why did you say the server was using http POST and application/xml content type when it quite obviously isn't, but a direct socket communication that abuses XML comments for message end delimiters?
    The comments imply you need to wait for "<!--QUIT-->" on a line by itself, but your loop is waiting for "QUIT".

  • How to  delete email attachments from server

    Hi,
    I created an a CF template for sending e-mail which includes
    attachments. It has been tested on my dev box and is functioning
    fine as the attachment upload to a designated directory on the
    server. I would like the attachments to be purged once the e-mail
    has been forwarded to the recipent.
    In Macromedia's ColdFuision 7MX web application construction
    book page 913 "Interacting with Email" there is a CFC that will
    delete the file when the user ends their session.
    I am not sure how to write this to fit the code I am using.

    Assuming that the sender is in a session would the code be

    Can someone explain how to automatically delete email
    attachments from a designated directory or provide me with the code
    that would handle this after an email is sent with attachment.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    I don't know why your dos code didn't run. It could be
    addressing. My limited experience with cfdirectory/cffile/cfexecute
    is to type out the complete path at least once.
    Good books?
    Hard to say, depends on what else you are new at. If you are
    new to html, then htmlgoodies.com has good tutorials. So does
    webmonkey.com. If you have trouble with sql, I have heard good
    things about the SAMS book, Teach Yourself SQL in 10 Minutes by Ben
    Forta. I learned javascript by buying the book Teach Yourself
    Javascript in 24 Hours. The O'Reilly books are also good. I learned
    awk with one of those books.
    Glad you liked the fish pics. The camera is specified on most
    of the pages. If it says Reefmaster, I used an external strobe. If
    it says Sony I either used the camera flash only or natural light.
    By the way, that is not a Cold Fusion site. It's strictly html and
    javascript.

  • How to download a file from server machine to client machine using jsp

    Hi,
    In my application, I have an excel file stored on my server machine. How can I download that excel file on to my client machine using jsp. Is there any other way I can open that file from my machine and save it in my machine using jsp/java?
    Its an emergency for me to do this.
    Can anyone provide me the full code to download a file from server machine as I don't have
    time to browse through various sites.
    thanks in advance,
    Tiijnar

    Please post your code using code tags (click on CODE above the text area, when posting)
    response.setContentType("application/octet-stream");Why octet-stream? Set the correct mime-type.
    String disHeader = "Attachment; Filename=\"filename\"";The filename should just be the file's name. Not the complete path to the file! This will tell anyone where the file is located on the server. It's also inconvenient because by default,the browser will suggest it as the name for the download.
    Your way of writing to the output stream is just plain wrong. See this snippet (picked from [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/07/fileservlet.html])
            BufferedInputStream input = null;
            BufferedOutputStream output = null;
            try {
                // Open streams.
                input = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(file), DEFAULT_BUFFER_SIZE);
                output = new BufferedOutputStream(response.getOutputStream(), DEFAULT_BUFFER_SIZE);
                // Write file contents to response.
                byte[] buffer = new byte[DEFAULT_BUFFER_SIZE];
                int length;
                while ((length = input.read(buffer)) > 0) {
                    output.write(buffer, 0, length);
                // Finalize task.
                output.flush();
            } finally {
                // Gently close streams.
                close(output);
                close(input);
            }

  • Downloading File from server

    I have written more or less same code like following
    to send file from server to browser in other web applications, where browser displays Save As dialog box
    to the user, but the same code doesn't work with portal.
    following code part of a page flow
    <pre>
    * @jpf:action
    * @jpf:forward name="success" path="index.jsp"
    protected Forward doUploadFile()
    HttpServletResponse res = this.getResponse();
    res.setContentType("application/x-download");
    String filename="C:\\somefile.pdf";
    File file = new File(filename);
    res.setContentLength((int)file.length());
    res.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;
    filename=" +filename);
    // Send the file.
    InputStream in=null;
    OutputStream out=null;
    try
    out = res.getOutputStream( );
    in = new BufferedInputStream(
    new FileInputStream(filename));
    byte[  ] buf = new byte[4 * 1024]; // 4K buffer
    int bytesRead;
    while ((bytesRead = in.read(buf)) != -1)
    out.write(buf, 0, bytesRead);
    finally
    if (in != null) in.close();
    if (out!= null) out.close();
    return new Forward("success");
    </pre>
    following is the JSP code to trigger the action of file
    download.
    <pre>
    <netui:form action="doUploadFile">
    <netui:button type="submit" value="Upload File" />
    </netui:form>
    </pre>
    Any clue ?

    Hi,
    Im having exactly the same problem. Did you find a way to do this.
    Thanks Chris

    The best you can do is set the correct content type.
    Once the file reaches the client's browser it's up to the client and their browser settings to decide what to do with it.
    You can't control the client's browser from your servlet.

When i click on some links into my appln request will go to the server and then download some jars into client PC. After that it works as a stanalone appln.
