Blojsom Trackbacks broken - Help!

I'm using OS X Tiger Server 10.4.8 with Blojsom for student weblogs.
I want them to be able to use the trackback functionality. We grab the URL from one entry's post, and go into another account, and click Advanced... and paste it in to create the trackback.
This used to work for us. At some point, it broke.
It accepts the URL, but the trackback link is never established back at the the original blog post.
Help!

I'm having the same frustrating problem with Help Viewer on my brand new G5. I never did find com.apple.helpui in the preferences folder in the first place.
Trashing com.apple.helpui.plist and com.apple.helpviewer.plist from preferences and the com.apple. helpui folder from caches, and then unselecting iTunes helper from startup items, then restarting sometimes does make the initial helpviewer screen pop up, and sometimes even the index link and the searchbox is responsive. But any links after that don't seem to do anything.
When I check caches, com.apple.helpui is there, and in preferences I'll see com.apple.helpviewer.plist, but com.apple.help.plist and com.apple.helpui.plist are missing.
Disconnecting from the internet does not seem to make any difference.
I tried using Pacifist to re-install all help-related files I could find (com.apple.helpviewer.plist, helpUI.framwork and Help Viewer.app), but again no luck, and the two files mentioned above are still missing.
Aaaaarrrggghhh! Any ideas?

Yes, Mac Help is too sensitive to interruptions or
being too impatient.
Usual fix to this common problem is:
Try first (quit Help) deleting this folder:
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpui
If Help still doesn't work, try then deleting those
files:
Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpviewer.plist
Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.help.plist
(and
Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpui.plist
for those who use Panther)

Samba4: Debugging broken helper responses with ntlm_auth

Hello.
I've been using mod_auth_ntlm_winbind+apache2 for NTLM authentication on my Arch web server. I decided to go through and overhaul my old server (thank you dropbear and busybox, makes all the fuss with breaking glibc/filesystem trivial), and in the process samba went to samba4. I'm completely up to date as of yesterday.
Now, all of a sudden I'm unable to get a proper handshake out of ntlm_auth, and nothing has changed with the config of my box.
I'm able to kinit a ticket, klist shows it fine. I'm able to net ads join (I did a net ads leave just to start from scratch), wbinfo -u/-g works fine, net ads info reports sane information, it all _looks_ good, until I try to auth via apache. Then I get a handshake response of "BH NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL" which seems to be the most vague error ever.

I've cut out the base64 strings (I parsed them in an offline tool, they look fine) just for privacy.
Does anyone have an idea on how to even begin to debug this? I've got no idea where to go, I perused the source of ntlm_auth but it seems to just be a helper into winbind, and that's a bit too big for me to eat right now.

Well, I downgraded to samba 3.6.10 (last version I had cached) and everything works now, I only wish I knew what was wrong. I'll stick with 3x. Not sure if I should mark this solved as technically it isn't?

Return/enter key is broken, help please.

So basically, after I downloaded an update for my computer, restarted, blah blah, my enter key broke. Also, my mouse would flash randomly sometimes too, and occasionally i would type a word only for it to be highlighted for some reason and I would accidentally delete it. But my main concern is the enter key. It's making using my macbook very difficult, and I would appreciate it if someone could help. Also, I'm using a 13 inch Macbook pro from late 2012, and the update was an update for mavericks, but I can't remember it's name.

It's probably broken. I've never heard of software breaking a keys, but it's possible, so you might want to back up your data and do a clean install. If it still doesn't work , it needs to be repaired

HP Simple Save 2 TB External Hard Drive (3.5-inch, USB 2.0) Broken HELP!

OK so I've searched around for a solution to my problem but have found no answer so I'm trying here.
I've had my HP Simple Save 2 TB External Hard Drive for a few of years now, it's served me great, I used it for storing all my photos but the usb connector has snapped off from the small CD drive inside the casing.
This has simply been through use, it was working fine, not wobbly or mistreated in any way, it must have just came to the end of it's life and now I can't hook it up to my computer to get the photos, I'm desperate to get them back, wedding photos, birthdays etc most of you must know how I'm feeling.
So I looked up a few solutions, one was to buy a USB-to-IDE/SATA adapter and use that to connect to the computer, well it works as far as recognising that a device is connected but won't load the files or folders to view.
As I've looked around apparently the small CD drive that's inside the case has software that my computer automatically loads? Now this is where I'm lost, how do I manage to get this to work?
I'm almost at my wits end, as far as looking every single day on Amazon and eBay to buy a new one to transfer the CD drive onto the broken one to load it up and get my photos back, IF that would even work, I'm not sure.
So if you have any suggestions/help please please get in touch, thanks.

In case anyone it´s interested I restore the autorun.inf into the drive and the problem was that I put all the toshiba software into one folder to be more organized. As soon as I place it back again outside the folder (in the root of the hard drive). It grab the canvio image.

My LCD Screen is Broken - HELP!

Right.
Bought my blackberry a month ago now, within ten days the screen had broken.
Of course, it's accidental damage and isn't covered by the warranty - my own stupid fault.
So, I asked around and sent it off somewhere locally.
They couldn't replace the screen, said the motherboard wasn't working, although since I can recieve calls, texts, emails, the lot, I highly doubt it. The only problem is, of course, that I could only see 3/4 of the screen.
So, I'm looking around the blackberry website and nothing, anywhere, is of any use to me whatsoever.
I found some page that said they charge $190 for any repair or something
a) I live in England
b) I can get a new one for that!
Will someone please help and either recommend a place where I can get it fixed
OR
Give me some clue as to how I can get it done officially via the website, because it all seems to be a load of jargon to me.

There is no "official" repair other than through the carrier. If you are any good at taking small electronic things apart, it's not that hard to replace the screen. You can get one here:

Ical broken help?

ical will open with month calendar populated but can't click on any item and can't move between weekly, daily or monthly view. After opening the only active function is quit ical. Any suggestions?

Is this new behaviour? If so, have you added or changed anything recently? (Applications, settings, fonts ...)
Meanwhile, try dragging com.apple.iCal.plist from the Library/Preferences folder in your Home directory to the Desktop and see does that help.

Photoshop is really broken, help please

hi, i have had a problem for a while now and i am not really sure why.
My problem is using the brush tool in Photoshop, while i am using it, it is fine, there are no problems but when i unclick to stop drawing on my trackpad and try to to scroll using two fingers on my trackpad nothing happens, my artwork doesn't move until i them command click back into the photoshop window, it then goes crazy and does all of the scrolling i tried to do before i command clicked back in.
The same sort of thing is happening with a lot of the other tools, when i use the spot healing brush the area selected stays the dark grey colour until i command click back into photoshop then it will heal the area.
The lasso tool shows the selection but does not start the marching ants until i command click again. The polygon lasso tool lags behind clicks, for example, when i click nothing happens, i then click again and nothing will happen, when i click for the third time the first two dots then connect, when i click again the next dots will connect but will never connect to the last dot until i click i join the shape up and click once more, which then makes the shape disappear.
I am having the same sort of problem with the clone stamp tool, the history brush, the eraser, the blur, sharpen, smudge, dodge, burn, sponge tools, i guess any tool that has a brush size. and all of the lasso tools. All of the other tools work fine to my knowledge.
I think it has something to do with apples track pad, today i tried using a mouse and it worked fine, i could draw a line and then scroll with the little ball in the apple mouse and it worked fine, but when i drew a line on my trackpad then tried to scroll with the mouse it didn't do anything until i command clicked. i then tried to click with the mouse and use the trackpad to scroll and that also worked fine.
Im currently using photoshop CC 2014 but i also had these issues in photoshop CC and i am pretty sure in photoshop CS6.
I am using a macbook pro retina 15 these are the specs

i have searched for an answer to this but i can't seem to find anything on the internet, i had uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, i have reset all of the tool preferences, and deleted all of photoshops preferences when that didn't do anything.

I'd start by checking the drivers for the trackpad are up to date if there are such things on a Mac.

Iphoto Broken HELP!

I have a Macbook Air MAC OS X Version 10.6.8. The software up to date. I cannot find the version of iphoto I am workign with because it will not open. My problem is that I click on iphoto, it begins to open and then I just get the loading white wheel and it never stops trying to load. I have asked many people and tried to find online how to fix this but I cannot. I cannot lose the photos in my iphoto. I do not know what to do. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am in Italy and cannot contact apple. Please help!

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

PC Suite, Phone Update, now Broken, Help Please

I guess the title says it all. I posted a similar topic in another forum with no response, I guess this is the correct place for it.
In a nutshell, I had PC Suite working fine. Updated the phone software with the nokia software update tool. The next day, PC Suite is crashing, constantly.
I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 on one machine, and Vista 64 (Ultimate 64 SP1). Both are legal copies and 100% up to date on security patches.
I am running PC Suite 7.0.7.0.
The phone (Nokia 6085) is running software

I have done very little in the way of trying to get around the problem, I went as far as to reinstall Nokia applications, I also tried removing the synchronization profiles.
I connect by either Bluetooth or USB Cable, they both produce the same result.
As soon as PC Suite sees the connected phone, it completes its current operation, then crashes.
This seemed to work fine before updating the software on the phone, I had no issues at all.
Is it normal that I should have to do some sort of cleaning and reinstall now that the software is updated?
Has anyone seen some incompatibility with this new phone software?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, on this most frustrating topic.

Ok, first of all, I think I'm using a different version of the software than you are. I dont have a Phone item under settings in PC Suite, and I don't have a phone section on the settings toolbox of PC Suite. I'm using version 7.0.7.0 (actually I guess that depends on how you look at it, the about dialog reports 7.0.7.0, but the file meta data tells me, 7.0.41.9). This is the most recent version of the software downloaded from the website.
OK, that out of the way, I have been able to sue communication center. It doesn't seem to be related. I have about 20 - 40 seconds after connecting the phone that the crashing occurs. In this time period, I may or may not be able to load the message center, depending on if the Synchronization Complete message shows up on the phone. Even at that, I have noticed that the communication center appears to work after the PC Suite crashes. Though I have not tested this extensively.
I can provide any amount of details you require, though I'm uncertain what else I can provide. I haven't found a stack trace or anything like that.
I have however noticed confserver.xml, which seems to map phone models to the functionality supported by that specific phone. I have also noticed that there are no definitions for my phone in that file, presumably it defaults to everything, or some default profile of (known services that work on most phones).
I wonder what type of trouble I would get into if I were to attempt to add a definitions for my phone, and try to limit the functionality on it... I notice your tagged as Mobile Guru, perhaps you know how this file works?
On a side note, the primary reason I want PC Suite to work is for deployment (from Net Beans)

Xperia Z2 SD Card Slot is Broken, help please

Dear support teams.
My Xperia Z2's sd card slot is broken. All of a sudden, the microsd flap was opened by itself, and the sd card popped out. Then everytime I try to insert the sd card, the slot ejects the sd card by itself.
What should I do? I don't want to bring my phone to the service center because it is notoriously bad in my country

Broken help images

I have had a recurring problem with RoboHelp for Word 6.
Whenever I have to work on a help project that I havent' looked at
in a while, I make my edits and then try to compile (to Web help).
I will get a silent compile failure - the status window says
'Starting compilation...' and the window title says 'WebHelp has
been generated'. No help files are generated. I have learned from
experience (and possibly from this forum) that what this means is
that a help image 'object' has become corrupt and ends up as a Word
image rather than a RH help image. I have to go through each module
(all 28 of them) and switch from Dynamic WYSIWYG to TrueCode. I
started to save the files in TrueCode mode, so that means I have to
convert to WYSIWYG and then convert again to TrueCode. Then I have
to search (visually) for any images that didn't get converted,
delete the image, and re-insert it the RH way. I have noticed that
It is usually one particular image btnChoices.bmp - just an image
of a small button with 3 periods (to simulate an ellipsis - we use
it to show a list of choices that can be entered into a field). So,
a 15 edit ends up taking a day or so trying to get it to compile.
Well it finally happened - I have a file that doesn't get
fixed when I do that. I have it down to:
1. delete the image
2. re-insert the image
3. convert to WYSIWYG
4. convert to TrueType
5. The conversion fails on the image I just added
I tried re-capturing the image and giving it a different name
- no luck.
Has any one else had this problem? Did Adobe correct it in
version 7?

Updating to RoboHelp 7 didn't help.
I ended up making a new project and importing all the .doc
files into it. I found one place that had a compiler tag that
didn't make sense. I removed the tag. Anyway I got it to work -
still don't know for sure what was wrong. A better message would
sure help - or a log file to see how far it got.
