Bloomberg Live TV no image

I can't get the stream live video on Bloomberg website (http://www.bloomberg.com/tv/). I get the sound but no image. I have installed Perian and flip4mac (and Divx codec which I uninstalled).
NB: This stream works on other older mac like macbook and macbook pro.
Please advise to fix that issue.

I just got a new mini, had the same problems.
this is what I did.
Open bloomburg.com in Safari, click the TV tab, select Live TV. The advertisement video and audio worked fine until the TV live buffered up and then I had audio but no video.
Waite for the ad to end, then control click on the video window, (press and hold control key and click mouse), and you will see a dialog box with three choices, settings, global setting and a third, about Flash Player.
Select global settings >Storage>Local Storage Settings by Site>+ button (lower left corner) and type in www.bloomberg.com
I clicked Allow on the far right side under Storage Access.

Live paint to image without covering lines in image?

I am using Live Paint in CS5 after tracing a line drawing, and I am finding that I am able to apply paint to the image, though it is covering up some of the lines. How canI apply the paint while making sure that the lines are not painted over?

Define "lines."
You can set options for whether the LivePaint tool applies fills or strokes separately. But the usual beginner's results of autotracing (LiveTrace) doesn't contain strokes. What the user thinks of as strokes in the original image are rendered as fills by most of the default autotracing presets.

Live Effects on images that crossover gutter.

I have a 156 page job with facing pages that was created in Indd CS4. It has many instances where images are placed which crossover the gutter. The images have some transparency effects applied. Basic Feather and/or Inner Glow, so the outside perimeter of the image fades to paper. When we print or export pdfs as single pages it breaks the image at the gutter and then applies the effects to both the left and right hand halves of the image adjacent to the gutter so when impose for print there is a white feathered area running vertically through the gutter.
The solution is NOT to print in spreads. If this was a simpler job I could do that. This is a fairly complicated imposition and the pages are in 32 separate files. Anyone know a setting to keep the live effects from applying to the center of the image when single pages are created?

Oh I got around it easily enough. Just cropped it down in Acrobat.
But still... See images below. Exported with bleed & without bleed.
Though today, found a solution! Simple enough - just fill those image boxes white (& extend the boxes further out so no shadow in the bleed).
Wtf? Even with images bleeding off, the shadow snaps to the trim box when exporting a PDF with no bleed!? And all it takes is a fill of white instead a fill of none....

Dreamweaver CS4 Live View - background-image does not display

I'm teaching a basic Dreamweaver CS4 class, and one of my students happened upon a unique problem.
Although the students were not required to use LiveView for their assignment, the student noticed that when he clicked the LiveView button to look at his assignment, that the background-image property that he set on the #header DIV does not display.
I tried duplicating his problem by building a similar site to his, using the exact same Dreamweaver Starter Page he used, but I'm not able to reproduce it the problem. If I define a new site using the files the student sent me, the problem comes back.
I'm completely stumped. What could possibly be causing the background-image CSS property to stop rendering in Live View?

Check your students css code for invalid or missing mark-up, or linking to the background image. Another possible problem, (occurs on some sites but not all) is to check if the url is enclosed in quotes as these are occasionally required but not always, also check for spaces in file names
e.g. - background-image: url(../images/yourimage.jpg); should work but occasional requires quotes as in - background-image: url("../images/yourimage.jpg");

Live-office and images

Hello,
I am trying to insert webi tables in which I have embedded images (eg. in alerts), but the images seem not to be transferred.
Would anyone know whether this is expected behavior, or whether I should expect to get my images transferred to eg. powerpoint.

Thanks for the info. We have also tried images on alerts in Webi, without success. These images does not pull through to a Live Office document. We have to insert LO content into a Excel spreadsheet. The images used in the Webi alert, does not show in Excel. I guess the same will be valid for Power Point and Word, as you pointed out.
For now, we are testing another work around. This, I guess will be helpful to you, if your end goal is just to have LO content in Excel or PowerPoint.
We use the alphabetic equavilant of Wingding 'smile face' (J) and Wingding 'sad face' (L). Within your Webi alert definition screen, you define as formula: ="L" and ="J" for the two alerts you want to create. Matching values will then reflect either a alert with a "L" or a "J" when the Webi report is run.
We then start MSExcel, and through LO, import the Webi report into Excel. You will now note that the 'L" or "J" for the particular alert has been pulled into Excel.
All that we do now is to change the font of the column where the alerts is displayed to Wingdings. The appropriate smile or sad face is now shown for the alert. If we refresh and choose a different posting period for instance, and the underlying letter changes due to the alert settings, the displayed Wingding also changes accordingly.
You can even use Conditional Formatting within Excel to change the backroung color of the particular cell to show green, when the cell is populated with letter "J" and red when populated with letter "L".
So we ended up with a working alert in Excel, using LO. We changed the alphabetic letters reflected from the Webi report alerter, to Wingdings in Excel, and we used Conditional Formatting to change the background color to show corresponding red or green.
This is not a perfect solution, as your Webi report will show "L" or "J" for alerts in Infoview.

Illustrator CS4 - Batch Live Trace all images in one directory?

Hello everyone
I have 200 pages or so scanned at the same resolution from a notepad, which I would like to vectorize.
Since they're all pretty much similar I'd imagine the trace settings can be consistant for all of them
I'd rather not Live trace each one in illustrator, would take ages..
Is there a batch command for this or a recommended alternative method?

Yes, Bridge can do it as well, but as of CS5 it ignores the "Ignore White" option, and another user was advised to use Illustrator. I see this as a bug that needs to be repaired in Bridge. Else, why have the command? There are some other bugs associated with this and other batch commands that need to be fixed up. AI doesn't record "Live Trace" button action (you have to go to the menu item.) And it ignores "Fit Artboard to Artwork Bounds" as well.
They really need to come up with an all-round universal solution to batch processing for the different products.

Illustrator CS6 Live Trace negative image

Hello,
We have recently updated our office Adobe Creative Suite, and are now using Illustrator CS6 to clean-up hand drawn sketches. When we run any sort of trace on a simple, black and white line drawing, the trace results in a negative image: the white background turns black, and the outline of the sketch is white. We have tried checking the "ignore white" box and several other settings changes. Does anyone know how to fix this, or prevent it from happening? Initially, for our first few times using the new suite this didn't happen:

When changing to Live View Images do not display...

Yesterday I was working on my website and it is still in the early stages so currently I have just a single image worked into my design. When I was changing between my code and the live view everything was displaying just fine. I saved my work yesterday and when I came back today I opened up the same file and found that everything appears fine in the code and the regular design view but as soon as I switch to the live view my images shows up as a tiny blue questionmark box. I have not changed any code from yesterday- the image appears to be linked to correctly because it displays without a problem in th design view. I am not sure what is going on- any help is appreciated!

How do I get rid of Live Trace once applied to an image?

Using Illustrator CC 2014, Windows 7x64
After telling Illy to Live Trace an image, how can I get rid of the Live Trace "modifer" without importing a new, fresh (not yet Live Traced) copy of the image and without expanding the Live Trace effects?
I just want the original raster back.

Hi All,
I have one webi reportrs and put the imgaes in the webi report.when i am pulling this report in the word or PPT via live office these images are not coming in the word or PPT.
Can any one please tell me to this is possible or not in the word or ppt via live office?
any workaround to get webi reports images in the live office.

Which will show on the fly, all Prompts defined @ WebI report/query level.

Images in Fluid Grid

Hi,
I'm guessing this is something simple. I"m new to dreamweaver, but have been coding forever. I started a basic fluid grid site and put a header image in. In Dreamweaver within live view the image scales properly from mobile/tablet/browser views. However, when I preview it in a browser using the preview/debug the image does not scale down. I also noticed that when I changed a simple block background color for the footer it again changes fine in the live view within Dreamweaver, but does not show the change when I preview in a browser. I assume I'm missing something simple here, but I'm not sure what it is. Any thoughts?

First, it would be easier to troubleshoot if we were able to see your live page. If it's too soon to make it public, create a test folder on your server and upload all the files there. Then share that URL here. Only those who follow this thread will be able to find it.
Second thought is, did you save all changed files before you went to the browser to view?

How to display 1st screen of movie file as a thumbnail image?

Hi.
I have a site that allows registered users to upload a video
file.
I would like to display the 1st screen shot from the video
file as a
thumbnail image for the file (like YouTube).
Is there any way of automating this as part of the file
upload or will I
have to manually create the thumbnail for each video file?

I was thinking about this issue some more and realized an error in my thinking. For some reason I believed that when ecards were activated they played right "within" the image within the body of the email that the user clicked on, but now i remember that after the click the movie opens in another window then plays. I've been able to publish the swf file with one of the jpg's in the file. Now i would like to somehow use that jpg, or any image for that matter, as a springboard to the swf flash file (that would play in a new window) without having to create a hyperlink to the swf file. I would like the "open swf and play" command as well as the swf file to "live" within the image in the email so that when a user clicks on the image, a separate window opens and the swf plays. Can this be done?

Tracing an image with transparency - bug?

Try the following: import a PNG or PSD that consists of WHITE-coloured line art on a layer (background is transparent).
Now run autotrace (did I just date myself?) Image Trace. Now expand. Look at your document in outline mode (preview mode turned off). All you got was a solid white box. Try tracing again with "Ignore White" turned on. Now you get nothing at all.
This is kind of lame. If I have line art on a transparent background, what could be better for tracing?
Workaround: in Photoshop, flatten the white artwork against a solid black background, invert and then save as a TIF with layers off.
So, Adobe, is this a feature? A bug? Will it be addressed?

All you had to is to select the image in Illustrator and go to Edit>Edit Color>Invert Colors then perform your Live Trace or Image Trace works like a charm
This was all white art on a transparent background in photoshop I opened the psd in photoshop converted to illustrator objects and then used the invert command and performed my image tarce no problems
You will have to use the ignore white option and then delete everything in the layer panel except the compound path that describes the art as such
You end up with this
then you can fill it as you wish like such

Issue with rolling images

Not sure what I've missed or left out but while in Dreamweaver Live view the images scroll properly but live at this link http://www.alleyesonyoudesigns.com/eyes/Colby/html/index2.html it is not.

Start by removing the duplicate body tag. That could cause your problem. You also have no doctype set. Please validate your pages before trying to troubleshoot problems. Furthermore, using a graphics application to export html results in web pages that are fragile and rigid. Look what happens to your page when you increase the text size.

Problem with Live Trace?

Hi,
I'm having some trouble with Live Trace which I've never encountered before. It could just be my inexperience with Ilustrator, but every time I click Live Trace, the image turns all black. I've tried different presets, and this doesn't change anything. The image I've imported is a Photoshop file so it should work, and has worked before.
Anybody had this before? Any suggestions?

I'm working through a Classroom in a book in CS4 Illustrator, so the image shouldn't be a problem as its specific for that exercise. The image is a PSD of a snowboarder so unable to upload to the thread.
Tracing Options: Preset: Default, Mode: Black & White, Threshold: 128, Trace Settings: Fills (though Strokes and Fills or just stokes on preview mode still keep the image black). View: Raster: No Image, Vector: Tracing Result, Path Fitting: 2px, Blur: 0px, Resample: 200px, Corner Angle 20, Minimum Area: 10px.
