Blown Speaker Question

Hi guys. Ok, so long story short, my left iPhone 5 speaker is blown. The right speaker works perfectly. Do any of you guys know how much it costs to get my speakers replaced? Thanks

The phone only has one speaker.  The other is the microphone.
A Picture is worth blah, blah, blah.  LOL

Not very promising that the left speaker dies only two days in. Has anyone else experienced any speaker failures?
The rep on the chat said they will take it for repairs, still awaiting some email from them that im suppsed to get.

My speakers have completely stopped working. All the settings are "On" for sound. Maxed volume, and everything is not Muted.  I just purchased this from Best Buy less then a week ago, but they are not taking any returns. What do you suggest I do?
Are your speakers truly "blown", or have you simply lost sound overnight like many of us?
Reboot the touchpad.  Device info/Reset options/Restart.

  • Built In Speaker Question....

This may be a dumb question... But the other day i started freaking out because i thought one of my built in speakers stopped working (the right one). But then i looked up the iPhone 3G specs on the apple website and noticed that the one i was talking about was marked as the mic.
Is it just a mono speaker system built in? So the left one is the speaker and the right one is the mic (when you're looking at the bottom with the screen side up)? Because if it's not then I need to return it...

  • Macbook Air blown speaker

I bought a Macbook Air 13 inch recently, the best one in store, costing £1,349.00.
When I took it home and got a few songs from my iCloud account on iTunes, I noticed a deffinate crackle coming from the left speaker.
I took the macbook back to the Apple Store and they replaced it, no questions asked.
When I got home, I was heartbroken when the problem had simply moved to the right hand side of the Macbook Air.
So, upon returning to the Apple store the very next day, the particular genious I saw said he couldn't hear it. They took it for a couple of days, and I received a call on the Friday (took it in on a Wednesday) saying to pick it up. However, they said no one could hear a problem.
The thing is, I think they either didn't test it or simply refused there is a problem, like the iPad 2.
    So, I'm seeking your advice.
Should I take it back and try one more time, and if they don't do anything about it put up with it. Or should I get my money back, then immideatly walk in and back in so to speak, and buy a new one..
I'm annoyed because, the laptop cost short of one and a half thousand pounds, and I bought the extended Apple Care.
Should I offer to pay to have them replace the speaker if it's so difficult for them to give me a new unit.
Thanks for your advice and time.
    Jack Smith

I would bring it back.  Try to isolate the problem by placing the balance only to the left speaker, then only to the right, which should demonstrate the crackle.
Also, try to use test tones (google "test tones" for some samles)

  • Do i have a blown speaker internally? only getting mono sound..

when i got home today i put on itunes and when to listen to a song with my headphones plugged in... only to find i'm only getting sound out of the left ear! initial reaction is that my headphones are broke, which i wouldnt have been too choked about. but i plugged it into external computer speakers and sound only comes out of the left speaker which means its definitley the computer.. i've done the whole test in preferences and i only get fuzz out of the right ear. is this a blown internal speaker or something? how should i fix it or get it fixed, there is no apple store around where i am. i'd appreciate some help as i am a musician and i bought the macbook to record with logic.. i can't really do it with only the left side
    thanks

Well if the issue is apparent when you're using headphones, it's extremely unlikely that a failure of the internal speakers would be the cause.
Check in System Preferences and make sure that the stereo balance slider is centered (seems obvious, but I've been caught out by this more than once.)

I deleted the runs that shouldn't be there, but they kept coming back when I reconnected the Nano to try to post the Basic run that hadn't posted. So I did the reverse of my "fix" for runs missing from the Nike+ site. I moved the 5K run (that kept re-posting) from my "latest" folder on the Nano and put it in the "Synched" folder. Then reconnected the Nano to Itunes. Nike+ then posted the Basic run (with time stamp that was hours off but who's fussy) and did not re-post the 5K. (Despite the fact that Nike+ keeps saying through all of this that I am not connected to the Nike+ server.)
This is all great fun in a kind of obsessive-compulsive way But I think I am going to give up this hobby of futzing with my Nike+ web-site and go pull weeds, wash the car, or do something really useful.

  • 8350i ear speaker question

Can anyone tell me for sure if an 8330 ear speaker will work in an 8350i?  I have low volume on my 8350i and ordered two replacement speakers that I was told would work in the 8350i as well as all other Curve models.  Neither new speaker has any sound.  If I reinstall the old speaker it works, albeit low volume.  The seller "swears" they are good speakers.  Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I have to question the compatibility.   (JFYI: I have been using this phone for several years and know how to operate it).
    Thanks,

  • Speaker Question

hi can anyone tell me why my itunes only plays out of 2 speakers on my computer. Im using a creative audigy sound card and a dell 5.1 speaker setup. My movies play from all 5 speakers but Itunes only plays out of the 2 front.
    Thanks

Thanks, Paul.  I appreciate the quick response.  I suspected what you said would be true; however, I was hoping......
The 2.1 speaker system sounds pretty nice on here, but (of course) it doesn't compare to my desktop with the 5.1 system  WOW!!!  I wish this laptop had a 5.1 sound card, I would be very happy indeed.
    Thanks again.

  • Headphones and Speaker Question

I have an Intel imac--specifications listed at the bottom. I have JBL speakers attached to the headphone jack as required. My plantronics USB headphones just went and now thinking about purchasing nice analog headphones. Since the JBL speakers are attached to the headphone jack and I do not want to frequently plug and unplug, is there a way that I can share the same headphone jack with both. the JBL speakers do not have a connection for that. Is there another device that would fulfill this need?

this same thing happened to me...My headphone jack has worked well for the past 2 1/2 years. Now my right Boston speaker no longer emits sound. It's not the speaker itself or the sound system because it works fine with other computers/ipods.
when i try to fiddle with the input cord that goes into my headphone jack it will sometimes work and play music out of both speakers. Do I have to mail the whole computer into apple or does anyone know if this is a quick fix that a local computer shop could do?
    any help would be great...thanks!

  • Speaker question HP dv7

I have an HP dv7-3065dx. I was just wondering how many speakers this thing has. I know it's not that important, just wondering. If nobody knows, where could I find this out? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
One thing can help is the following.  Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

  • T7900 Speaker Question ?

Did anyone using T7900 speaker system yet ? do they have a hole in the back that could hang in the wall sitck with nail ?
Any store saling T7900 yet if i live in Us ... thanks

The T7900 is the set replacing the T7700. I have yet to understand what the difference between the 2 sets are though. As such, without actually seeing a T7900 in person, I think it is reasonably safe to say the T7900 sats do have a hole in the back for wall mounting like nearly every sat in the Inspire and Mega/Gigaworks series.
Concerning stores selling them... Google it. Or look up some of the countless price-checking sites that exist. Or buy them directly from the Creative store on *this* website.
    Good Luck.

  • Speaker question? I'm stuck?

I just opened a box of Logitech 5.1 Speakers X-540. No a sign of instructions but Im holding yelo, black and lt. green male sub-min plugs... Since my Mini only has 1 audio out plug am I screwed?
I also have some kind of jumper; the lt. green plug splits to 2 a yelo and red plug (all female).
    WTH?
    Thanks Steve

Did you search their support site for the manual?
You may find that there is a setting that enables you to use one of the cables for now, but you may need an external sound module that supports surround sound.

  • Headphone speaker question

Hi all, (sorry if i am in wrong Forum Thread)
I have a pair of Zalman ZM-RS6F 5.1 Surround Sound headphones, but i also am considering buying a set of speakers to use during the day.
My dilemma is that in order to swap between Speakers and Headphones, is it a case of switching the PC off to change the jacks or is there a product on the market that i can plug both Speakers and Headphones into and simply switch between them at the touch of a button?

There is no way to specify on the card that voice goes through headphones but all other audio over the speakers. Unless the recording/voice application supports this, then the only other option I can think of is to use a second audio device (like onboard audio or a second card), though this may have it's own problems as it can be difficult to get different audio devices to work together sometimes.

  • Info on blown Pre speaker - save your speaker

I am now negotiating for my 2nd Palm Pre replacement.  Each has blown its respective external speaker.
1: The first phone eventually was reduced to a volume level where the only way you could hear the notification ring was to place the speaker up to your ear.  All audio and ringtones were quiet and mega-distorted.
2: The replacement sounded great for a couple of weeks.  Then I noticed that it was getting harder to hear.  Now - though not as bad as the previous phone - it is failing the same way.  All audio is always weak and distorted, despite full volume, reboots, etc.  note: I never upgraded this phone beyond 1.0.2, because I knew that 1.1.0 had its own volume issues, that were pending a fix.
PALM ENGINEER COMMENTS: On my second phone (after escalting to engineering), Palm's team said that: prior to 1.1.0, the speaker output was too loud for the speaker component, causing it to fail in some circumstances.  1.1.0 artificially caps the volume at a lower level, in an attempt to keep the speaker from getting damaged.
In other words, the speaker will never be as loud as it was originally (in 1.0.2), but it may not blow out anymore.
So, if your speaker is still in good shape, be sure to let your phone upgrade to 1.1.0.  And maybe don't turn your ringer all the way up.  Or don't use loud ringtones.  or loud music.  If its not loud enough for you... return it while you can, because it can't go louder without damaging itself.
Personally, I've begun to pine for my trusty old Treo 650, which could wake me up from another room, so I may have to go back to it.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

I had to have my first pre replaced because of a blown speaker.  Now my second one is doing the same thing you describe.  speaker is blown
Now i know im pretty rough on phones sometimes, but i have tried to be super careful with my pre.  I have dropped it (like anyone would) and it almost seems like the speaker gets broekn loose from the case and that causes the distortion.  Id almost love to open it up and see if thats the case, but with the total equipment protection im better off just getting it replaced.
