Blu-Ray "device error"code 3 note

Im getting this error on almost every progect I do I
Remove the all the files from
/Volumes/Mac HD1/Adobe Encore Projects/BD/AuthorScriptHDMVSessions/
And sometimes this works this time it is not.Ive been searching the web on this and its been going on since CS3
1.How do I get this to work?
2.Why has this error been going on for so long (3 versions) ?
IM using Encore CS5 Mac Pro
Thanks
This photo is from a different post that had the same issue

The Error code 3 comes mainly in two scenarios:
1. When the AuthorScriptHDMVSessions files gets corrupted and
2. When either your Blu ray disc or the burner is damaged.
This device error is most probabily because of your damaged disc.
Try using new BD.
Best of luck.
Thanks,
Ramesh.

That's the error I got when Encore CS3 started to actually write to the bluray burner.
It's worked many other times but this time it did everything except the burn.
If I reboot or change blanks it doesn't seem to matter. When it gets to the stage of starting to write to the disc, I get the message above.
    Real helpful, right?
Hope there some "real" help here.

I can't seem to get any response here so I'm wondering if there is any list of Encore errors on the Adobe site? Errors like this are pretty meaningless unless you have a list of explanations. Any cluses who might have one?

  • Blu-ray error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "AS_StorageError = -97064

    Hello,
I am becoming increasingly frustrated with Encore as it now seems that I cannot burn a bluray to a disc. I would love to be able to talk to someone in support at Adobe but that does't seem to be an option. I have attempted to burn a video that is 18.45GB (transcoded) to a 25GB BD-R disc with the following error received on both attempts:
    "Blu-ray error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "AS_StorageError = -97064"
I don't understand this error because there should be plenty of room on the disc? I also had an issue a few weeks ago with Encore preventing me from burning a 20.4GB transcoded movie onto a 25GB disc. This may be unrelated and I am aware of the issues in Encore regarding the calculation of file size, but why am I now experiencing issues all the sudden?
    My configuration:
    Mid-2012 MacPro
    OSx 10.8.5
Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 (Encore CS5.1)
    Internal MCE Technologies Blu-ray burner
I appreciate any help and support!!

The Code 3 AS_StorageError comes in many variations.
Google: encore "AS_StorageError=-97060" and you'll find a bunch issues. Now replace the 97060 with your specific code (97064) and you'll see there are no finds other than your thread.
These all appear to have physical storage, hard drive, or media issues. Keep in mind that for Blu-ray especially, Encore uses a huge amount of temporary storage.

  • Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File.

I keep getting this error message about 11gb into burning a 22gb Blu-ray. "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File." I have tried just about everything from running as administrator, starting a new project and changing the disc too. I am using CS6 and going crazy... any ideas?

    Hi,
First try to create Bly Ray Image Under option 'Output" Select BluRay Image, and also select the destination to create Image and click on Build, It will create a BluRay Image with extension of .iso. Now to burn BluRay Disc, you need to Select BluRay Disc under 'Output' Option and Below under 'Source' Option select BluRay Image instead of current project and Select the destination where you have put .iso Image, Then click on Build and it will burn BluRay disc.
In simple , First create an Image then Burn that image to BluRay .
I hope, it will help you.
    Thanks

  • Blu-ray Error: "device error" Code: "3", Note: "AS-StorageError = -97060

I just wasted 2 Blu-Ray discs trying to burn a project. I was trying to burn a very simple project: a two-chapter Blu-Ray with two 55 minute episodes of a TV show on it.  I have used the exact same computer recently to do exactly the same job with success, so I don't know what the problem is.
There are no menus in the project: it's just a bare-bones auto play disc with stereo sound only.  The disc shows 24.37 GB used on a single-layer BD.
The files are conformed and as the build begins, the following error pops up:
    Blu-ray Error: "device error" Code: "3", Note: "AS-StorageError = -97060
    System info:
    Windows 7 Professional
    Service Pack 1
    Intel i7 8 cores @ 2.80 GHz
    12 GB 1600 RAM
    AMD Radeon HD5870
WD 3TB HD 7200 RPM NTSC file system
    Pioneer BD-RW BDR-206 ATA burnerncore
    Adobe Encore CS6

I do not see another example of this error with the "97060" in it.
I never trust my recollection of this, but note that the 24.37 GB may actually be 24.37 GiB, which may be too big to fit on a single layer Bluray. You should get a different error, but who knows.
I would try building to a folder to see if that succeeds. Then you can return to the issue of burning. Many of us prefer ImgBurn for burning rather than Encore.

Try Save As and rename the file. Can you export the file now as a different format?
I'm guessing it's a corrupt file or it's written on bad blocks on your drive resulting in problems.
    Run Repair Permissions:
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
    2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
    3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
    4. Click the repair permissions button.
To Repair your drive, you have to boot from another device.
Option 1) If you have your Install CD for Snow Leopard you can boot from the CD to run Repair Drive.
Option 2)  If you have a clone backup, you can boot from the clone and run Repair Drive.

  • Blu-Ray Error: "device error" code:"3" Note: CreateStcSequence:Fail to write M2Sfile.

I've seen this in other posts, but still not sure what to do. Pretty simple menu set up, 16 min. movie encoded first (in Premiere) then imported asset, but Blu-Ray gets almost done and I get the error message.
I'm working in Encore CS6. Have burned Blu-Rays directly from Premiere without issues. Have burned DVD from Encore without issues. Saw where Stan said something about burning with Toast? I have Toast, but how do I burn an Encore project in Toast?

I don't know toast, but V8 did not burn images; and in newer versions you may need to tell it to burn it as an image.
    http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/84731-how-to-get-toast-11-to-burn-blu-ray-disc-from- an-iso-file/
Burning the BDMV is not the same as burning the image. You could try burning the BDMV and the CERTIFICATE folders. But Toast should be able to burn the image.

  • Blu-ray Dual layer code 25 "not enough space on media"

Using Encore CS6 (Cloud edition) to build Blu ray Dual Layer on Mac. Project is 34.75 GB. While building Blu-ray Image all is well until Data written 34.75 GB of 34.75 GB. Then the dreaded "Blu-ray Error: "not enough free stoarage", Code: "25", Note: "Note enough space on media" comes up and the buld is stopped. I repeated by building a new project with the same results. There is over 100 GB of free space on the hard drive. I paritially rebuilt the project at 22.5 GB and tried it as a single layer image. Everything worked fine for that Blu-ray image, so it appears this could have something to do with the Dual layer nature of the larger project. Any help and guidance would be much appreciated.

I would point out three points. You can try them in order:
You can apply the 6.0.2 patch that is available (if you have not done so) because the patch has a fix around this issue.
There is a lot of space requirements for the dual layer BD project. Here is the list of almost all the things that would need space:
First the asset's indexed files would need space. For audio files, there might be conforming happening that again would need space.
Then when yoy build the project, the assets will be transcoded (if already not or they are not Don't Transcode). This would take a considerable amount of space as the transcoded assets are complete footage which would be huge.
Then while creating a image file, First all the files (muxed video streams) would be copied on the disc in a folder (generally named BDMV) and then at the final step, they would be copied from the BDMV folder to the iso file and finally the BDMV folder would get deleted. So this step would need almost double the size of your project. IF your project is say 35 GB, then this step alone would take more than 70GB.
So the space requirement for a 35 GB (Disc Info) project might go to almost 100 GB.
But again there is some bug in size estimation for Motion menus and slideshows. Encore says that they will occupy lesser space but actually they are going to occupy more space. So if your project has motion menus or slideshow, then the estimation might be incorrect. So if it showing 35 GB (for example) and your project has motion menu or slideshow, then actually it might be 37GB or more or anything greater than 35GB depending on the slideshow and motion menu duration in the project.

  • "Device Error" Code:3, Note: AS_Storage Error=-97060

After installing my new internal blue-ray drive (MCE Technologies) into my Mac Pro Tower, I attempted to burn my first Blue-ray and this error popped up. Not sure why. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I think that instruction is for windows. And I am never clear on the Mac equivalent.
See this troubleshooting list, the step titled "Run the application in a minimized mode or from an administrator account":
Troubleshoot system errors, freezes | Mac OS 10.x | Adobe software
Many Mac errors are permissions based.
Try building to a folder to eliminate the burner as a cause.

  • Blu-ray Fatal Error Code 6: Video Bitrate too High?

So I get this error every time I try to encode my Blu-ray disc. I am assuming that the bit rate I used to encode from Premiere was too high. Am I correct? If so, does this mean that I need to re-encode all of my assets at a lower bit rate before bringing them into Encore? Or is it some other issue? I did read all previous posts on this topic and couldn't really find an answer.
    Thanks for any help.

    Stan,
I don't fully understand either of your questions, but I am sure I can provide an answer that you will understand so here goes.
My audio files in Encore are actually wav files, but in my the root project folder they are ac3. Is ac3 an audio codec or something? I don't understand this. I guess they are session files, whatever that is... And why does this matter?
And what do you mean that Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder should not allow any peaks. Do you mean bit rate peaks?
And my only worry with making a modest drop in the bit rate is the fact that I have to render out almost 20 files before I can test out my Bluray burn again. This obviously takes some time to do and if it ends up not working it can be quite frustrating.
Thanks again for all of the help Stan. Hopefully I can fix it by just adjusting the bit rate.

I don't think we know a  single solution.
    See this thread:

The link I refer to in post 1 (that refers to removing previous authorscriptsessions) is not relevant to CS6 - where they appear to automatically remove the old sessions.
