Blu-ray Error - Encore CS6
Hi,
I am having problems exporting my Blu-ray - I used Media Encoder to export my sequence from Premiere Pro, using the H.264 Blu-ray codec.
This is the error message I recieve, which appears after it seems to have burnt the disc and is on 'building streams': Blu-ray Error: "device not read", code: "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M2S file.
I have tried re-exporting my footage, and creating new Encore projects.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Thanks
You have solved your problem by using Imgburn (which I use for ALL disc burning) but here is some general information... for anyone else who reads this and wants to know "why" there may be problems
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator,
which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and
which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD or a BluRay, you must
have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option... and a Mac version

Blu-ray error message CS6 BUILD
I have created a HD submenu in CS6 Encore to front a (AVCHD camcorder files) video sequence edited in Premiere Pro 6. I have entered Build and begun a Blu-ray disc creation/burning process. As the burn process reaches the final 0.27Gb of data, the disc burning process ceases, and the following error message appears on the monitor screen:: "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code : 3, Note: "Create Stc Sequence : Fail to write M25 file ". The BD disc burning process has failed and has been terminated. What is the solution to this problem? I can produce DVD discs and Blu-ray discs of the no chapter menu auto-play type without problems. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Graham Bleakman, 13th November 2012.

Blue screen of death when building blu-ray in Encore CS6
I recently purchased a new laptop and installed Adobe Master Collection CS6. I purchased the laptop for video capture and editing, as well as for blu-ray authoring.
Unfortunately, although the computer and software works fine for video capture and editing, I am unable to author a blu-ray. For authoring, I am using Adobe’s Encore CS6. After checking and previewing my creation, I attempt to build to disc using Encore. About 2 seconds after clicking the build disc in Encore, I get the “blue screen of death” (BSOD). This happens every time I try to build to blu-ray (only blu-ray has this issue; I am able to build to a DVD). I am using an external blu-ray drive on USB 3.0.
I am using Encore version 6.0.0.492

Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help -
Whay does button navigation change after I burn to Blu-ray using Encore CS6?
Very odd. I've set up my Blu-ray project - created and previewed all the buttons, menus and navigation. The main menu contains a "Play Video" button, which is supposed to trigger the entire video to play. The "Chapters" button takes the viewer to a chapters menu. Everything previews fine on my computer. After I burn the disc, however, the button functions on my main menu have flipped. The "Play Video" button now takes the user to the chapter menu page and the "Chapters" button now plays the video. Also, the "Play Video" button is programmed to be the default for this menu. Now the menu defaults to the "Chapters" button. By the way, I created the same project on a DVD which plays as programmed. Any idea why the Blu-ray is having these issues? I'm thinking I'll reload Encore CS5 and reconstruct the project there. Thanks.
Hi, Stan.
I realized the problem was that the colors for the selected buttons on the Blu-ray version display darker than they do on the DVD. So I was being fooled into thinking the selected buttons weren't selected. Anyway, this was pilot error on my part. I just need to monkey with the color menu until I get the BR to approximate the DVD. Thanks. Cheers, Steve -
CS6 - Blu-ray Error: "Fatal Error", Code: "6"
Greetings,
I have gone through about 15 Blu Ray Disks in the past week, trying to burn one wedding project.
When i burn to DVD - its fine... but when i choose Blu Ray, it gets about 1 hour in and then comes up with 'Blu-ray Error: "Fatal Error", Code: "6".
I have tried to re-export all files for burning, in two different blu ray formats - but it continues to come up with the same.
I have used Encore for years but have just upgraded to CS6 and im getting these errors.
What am i doing to cause this?
Thx,
JamesTry this first:

Then type "fatal error code 6" into the "Ask A Question" box at the top of the main Encore Forums page, or the top of the Discussions page.

I have a project a Encore CS6 V6.0.1.013 for MAC.
I tryng export do Blu-ray Disc, but ireceved this error message
Blu-ray Error: "not enough fre storage". Code:"25", Note "Not enough space on media"
But at "Disc Info" i have 14.71mb freeMy longer notes on this error:
The most common workaround for this is to build to a folder and burn with ImgBurn (for PC) or toast (for Mac).
Searches show that there has not been success in many situations. I do not believe that it is one problem.
I have generally believed that the error refers to temporary storage on the hard drive. And users underestimate the amount of temporary hard disk drive space used. For bluray it is about twice the disk or more.
Some users experience this error when they are creating dual layer BD disks, and a layer is more than 25G. Each video/layer must fit on one side.
And some users successfully burn their disk by re-encoding to a lower bitrate (a 25G BD disk does not hold 25G). Encore uses padding to predict the size on disk (e.g. add 10% to the amount of space it predicts that build will use), and it can be wrong.
Always good to "run as administrator, though I don't know that ever fixed this issue if someone wasn't.
For CS4 there was a required update for a Roxio component. I believed this was a temporary problem due to the combination of Win7 and Encore CS4, but users on newer OS and Encore have reported resolution of problems after installing the patch. -
Jeff I NEED your help!!!! I have read all they say about you and your accurate answers when being attacked my many lol.
I´m trying to build a Bluray project and it marks no errors when checking it but then after a while building the iso image i get this :
Blu-ray error:File already exists",Code:"6", Note:Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time...
I have imported all again and again and still get the same. Let me mention that I am not a pro so I´m sure i did something wrong, but i don´t know what.
I hope ypu can help me. I am using m4v´s and wav´s for my movies exported from pro cs6 and using pre designed menus from Pro motion. I have no problem when building a dvd following their steps in their tutorials but when it comes to bluray...I can just kick myself. I´ve been doing this for 2 weeks now and ran out of options.
Please help, and thanks in advance!!

So I've been burning Blu-Rays since January 2010 with Encore without a problem. Nothing has changed in how I'm creating these discs. Always by exporting the media to "MPEG-2: Blu-Ray" settings from Premiere, and then importing them as timelines with their adjacent .wav files once I'm in Encore.
But lately, I'm completely unable to finish the burn. I've still been able to burn DVD's with this drive, so I can't imagine it's a hardware error, though I think it's trying to tell me otherwise. My closest attempt was recently, when the blu-ray burned 12GB out of 16GB. (approx).
Everytime it stops, it gives me a small pop-up window with this exact message, nothing more:
Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code: "3", Note: "
I've tried Googling this error code for more information as it looks like it gets truncated after "Note: " but have found nothing. Does anyone have any advice?
This is all in CS5 btw.
Thanks for your help in advance! Thanks for the welcome Jeff. I hate to come in under these conditions.
I was figuring it was a device error up until it successfully burned a few DVD's for me. Obviously that doesn't rule it out since it still won't do Blu-Ray discs, but I think you're probably in the right area with your answer about firmware or OS conflicts. I am running this all on a Mac (should have clarified) and I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out that something in the latest batch of updates screwed this up. Rather than running backwards (I don't remember when the last batch was, and it'd take a day or so just filtering through my Time Machine files) I upgraded my copy of Toast to the Blu-Ray capable version 11.
It's going to take a day and a half to download it appears (or 4 hours...bu that feels like an eternity when I need answers). But hopefully this will give me a temporary solve.
Next (related) question: Where would you guess that the issue lies? OSX or CS5? If it's an issue with OSX who would be tapped to fix the problem, Adobe (by creating a patch/update themselves) or OSX, but fixing the error? Not sure since we're dealing in the realm of speculation anyway, but thought it was worth asking. Thanks for your help! -
Blu-ray Error: "fatal error", Code: "6", Note:"
I tried burning a Blu-ray in Encore CS3 and it worked once. Since then it spends hours trancoding stuff when I go to burn and eventually just blows up with this error (the subject of this message).
Anyone know what is going on?Happened to me a couple of times.
One solution was setting the button routing 'automatically'
In other words: no changing of the button routing before building.
Another time the issue was caused by a file which was transcoded but seemed to cause the error.
I succeeded in finding the file, removed it, imported it again and let it transcode.
This solved it for me.
Good luck! -
Hello,
I am becoming increasingly frustrated with Encore as it now seems that I cannot burn a bluray to a disc. I would love to be able to talk to someone in support at Adobe but that does't seem to be an option. I have attempted to burn a video that is 18.45GB (transcoded) to a 25GB BD-R disc with the following error received on both attempts:
"Blu-ray error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "AS_StorageError = -97064"
I don't understand this error because there should be plenty of room on the disc? I also had an issue a few weeks ago with Encore preventing me from burning a 20.4GB transcoded movie onto a 25GB disc. This may be unrelated and I am aware of the issues in Encore regarding the calculation of file size, but why am I now experiencing issues all the sudden?
My configuration:
Mid-2012 MacPro
OSx 10.8.5
Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 (Encore CS5.1)
Internal MCE Technologies Blu-ray burner
I appreciate any help and support!!The Code 3 AS_StorageError comes in many variations.
Google: encore "AS_StorageError=-97060" and you'll find a bunch issues. Now replace the 97060 with your specific code (97064) and you'll see there are no finds other than your thread.
These all appear to have physical storage, hard drive, or media issues. Keep in mind that for Blu-ray especially, Encore uses a huge amount of temporary storage. -
Blu-ray Error Code 25 Note: Not Enough Hard Disc Space
I'm trying to make a Blu-ray image on my computer and recieving an error that states:
Blu-ray Error
Not enough free storage, "code 25" Note: Not enough Hard disc space
Now I first thought to check my hard drive but I have plently of space. Next I noticed that encore CS3 was trying to make an image that is 340GB in size!!! Why would it do that? My project only has 4 assets. HELP this is going from bad to worse. My longer notes on this error:
I keep getting this error message about 11gb into burning a 22gb Blu-ray. "Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M25 File." I have tried just about everything from running as administrator, starting a new project and changing the disc too. I am using CS6 and going crazy... any ideas?
Hi,
First try to create Bly Ray Image Under option 'Output" Select BluRay Image, and also select the destination to create Image and click on Build, It will create a BluRay Image with extension of .iso. Now to burn BluRay Disc, you need to Select BluRay Disc under 'Output' Option and Below under 'Source' Option select BluRay Image instead of current project and Select the destination where you have put .iso Image, Then click on Build and it will burn BluRay disc.
In simple , First create an Image then Burn that image to BluRay .
I hope, it will help you.
Thanks -
It has been a 3 days that i have try to make Blu-ray .ISO image on Encore CS5, i always have that message: Blu-ray error: "file already exists", code "6" , Note : 118240 11771552 11826176. Everything seems to work fine before.

thanks in advanceThank you ram8kumar. I will answer step-by-step, as you did:
- there is no subtitle in the project
- .PSD file is not to large, 2 files 1920X1080 and only 2-3Mb, and they only used as menu (I did this a milion times before), there is no slideshow in the project
- Disc name is not blank
- there is no sledeshow (burning a slideshow with no pan and zoom or with no transition with H264 settings)
Lest two might be the problem.
- I exported .h264 files from PPro CS5 with Matrox MXO2 Mini with MAX, Matrox preset and if I remember right target was 30Mb/sek
- Audio and video track duration in the timeline was 1(one) frame difference.
Thank you agan, and I will post the results as soon as I will get done with it.
Vladymyr.
