Blu-ray Error: "fatal error". Code: "6". "Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 1.456333 seconds -

Every time i try to burn a blu-ray, this message appears and i can't proceed to the process.
Can anybody help me? I need it for my job.

I could swear I posted this yesterday. But no, the forum did not. Here is the recovered version....
From http://forums.adobe.com/message/6004943#6004943
You will find a number of other threads with this error message.
I think it usually reflects a real datarate problem, but sometimes because there are spikes that should not have occurred with the transcode settings used.
But the solution/workaround is to reduce datarate.
There may also be times where changes in the type of transcoding (CBR, VBR one or two pass) has fixed the issue for a particular project.
In this thread, Jon Geddes recommends a max of 27 or less.

  • BluRay error message "code 6, audio buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 000000 seconds."

    Hello,
I’m trying to create BluRays using Encore and I keep getting the following error messages: ‘code 6, audio buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 000000 seconds.”
For info, I created a H264 Bluray - NTSC 24fps master from an Apple prores HQ in Adobe Media Encoder. Duration: 52m, size: 11go. I'm on Mac OSX 10.9.5, the bluray burner is Samsung SE-506CB/RSWD and the BR disks are TDK Blu-ray Disc 50 Spindle - 25GB 4X BD-R - Printable.
I looked around in forums and tried the following without success: replacing disk name to shorter name without space, creating bluray without menu frame, I also tried with a Mpeg2 bluray master. I tried to export a new master but I can't seem to be able to change the audio bitrate.
    Can anyone please help ?
    Thanks.

Hi Stan, thanks for getting back.
I tried to create a new master from Media Encoder but I can only export audio in PCM, I don't get a dolby option. See pic below.
I tried a new project in Encore and chose PCM instead of Dolby in the preference menu, but I still got the same error. Should I try again limiting bitrate to 15 ? I was on 30 before.
Please help, I've already wasted 10 bluray and this is getting really frustrating!

  • When burning a bluray I get this error message: Total bitrate is too high near time = 4.760000

When burning a bluray I get this error message: Total bitrate is too high near time = 4.760000
The video is encoded with sonic cinevison as avchd file and one AC3 file.

What can I do to avoid it?
Well, about the only thing you can do to solve "bitrate too high" errors is to lower the bitrate.

  • Premiere Elements Blu-Ray Burn Fatal Error

How can I make my Premiere Elements 8 burn a Blu-Ray H.264 1920x1080 project without stopping (not crashing) with a “fatal error”(encoding media ~97% > burning disc 0% > fatal error; Adobe Media Encoder – Property Data Invalid”) after 13 hours?
I am trying to burn 629 stills (up to: 1671x1080, TIFF; PSD does not help) in 6 clips.  The stills and clips are ok since I can render them and also burn any 3-5 clips (up to at least 7.47 GB) but not all 6 (7.75 GB, 52:23).  The full project at 7.75 GB does not exceed BD-RE disc capacity (25 GB, full erase).  I can burn the full 7.75 GB, 52:23 project in H.264 1440x1080, just not 1920x1080.
I have followed http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/515/cpsid_51553.html = “Troubleshoot system errors and freezes when burning DVDs or blu-ray discs (Adobe Premiere Elements 8)”.
My Gateway LX6200-01 seems adequate: 2.20 GHz processor = AMD Phenom 9500 Quad core 64-bit; Windows 7 64-bit, Home Premium, latest update; Color Monitor 1280x1024, 32 bit color; 8 GB RAM; C:\(program disc) = 478 GB free; D:\(photo disc) = 463 GB free; E:\(media cache) = 92 GB free; F:\(disc encoding cache) = 258 GB free; ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics adapter (latest driver update); BD-RE = LGE BH08LS20, firmware 2.0 (latest update), set to DMA mode; PRE8 & PSE8: 64-bit, latest update.
All startup items and services disabled with msconfig.

Steve: Thanks for your good guidance.
Yes, I can output to an MPEG .m2t file, either H.264 1440x1080i 30 or H.264 1920x1080i 30.  I can also burn H.264 1920x1080 either directly or with the .m2t file to BD-RE discs (as long as I shorten the disc name to less than 12 characters).  But I can not burn either 1440x1080 or 1920x1080 to BD-R, either directly or with .m2t files.  When I try, the BD-burner "thrashes" for ~5 minutes before PRE8 quits with "disc error" (but PSE8 will "burn data" to a BD-R disc).
The MS website says that my LGE BH08LS20 is compatible with Windows 7 64-bit and I have updated its firmware to 2.00 which LGE says is Windows 7 compatible.
    Any ideas?

  • Blu-ray Error: fatal error, code 6, audio buffer underflows...

Ughh.... So its been a few months since I stopped using CS6 Encore because it loves to crash for all kinds of bad reasons. Today I needed to do a new project, and used a simple 1920x1080p MP4 file created by Adobe Media Encoder, and used a basic menu template in Encore. Also added a slideshow timeline with one Mp3 audio set to loop. During the building image part of the build process, I get the fatal error code 6, audio buffer underflows. Total bitrate too high neat time = 0.00000 seconds -
First off, I set the BR transcode setting to auto and it spends  pleanty of time transcoding the file to a 15mbps bitrate, so why is Encore not first taking care of all the source files correctly in transcoding...?

Ok.... 100% the fault of the software. I am an SE, and build systems all the time for my business, so if I knew of these simple problems, Id go into the code and devise a solution...please Adobe, fix Encore.
Here are my simple finding from solving this problem (first post):
    - Of the 2 simple Mp4 files produced by Media Encoder, one, which runs only 2 minutes, had a peak of a little over 10mbps. I dropped the file back into Encoder and set the same mp4 profile to max of 6mbps and then replaced the file in the encore project, ran build and it worked fine.
SO.... If I can use a simple free bit of software to look at the bitrate of a file (google Bitrate Viewer) and determine that the peak was possibly too high, why oh why cant adobe write a better transoding logic algorythm to decide if a video in a timeline needs to be reprocessed at a slightly lower bitrate before just attempting a build and then throwing an error. For the love of all that is holy, please tweek your transcoding decision process to prevent these simple errors.

  • CS6 - Blu-ray Error: "Fatal Error", Code: "6"

    Greetings,
I have gone through about 15 Blu Ray Disks in the past week, trying to burn one wedding project.
When i burn to DVD - its fine... but when i choose Blu Ray, it gets about 1 hour in and then comes up with 'Blu-ray Error: "Fatal Error", Code: "6".
I have tried to re-export all files for burning, in two different blu ray formats - but it continues to come up with the same.
I have used Encore for years but have just upgraded to CS6 and im getting these errors.
What am i doing to cause this?
    Thx,
    James

    Try this first:

Then type "fatal error code 6" into the "Ask A Question" box at the top of the main Encore Forums page, or the top of the Discussions page.

  • Please help: Blu-ray error - file error - video buffer underflows

    Hi all,
Just got a new video editing system and Blu-ray burner and was very excited to test out Blu-ray burning. Unfortunately I keep getting the following error whilst burning my timeline:
blu-ray file error: file already exists - code 6 note: video buffer underflows
The timeline consists of just one AVC video track and an ac3 track.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers
    Ben

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the input but none of those solutions worked. Tried renaming the project but to no avail. I am using Vista 64bit so that MSXML solution is irrelevant too.
Interestingly I hit a buffer underlflow problem with Vegas DVD Architect 5.0 when I make a project with non transcodable elements. I literally have no idea why I am having these problems, but its pretty upsetting that I bought this whole new system, including Vegas and CS4 just for video, and I cant create a Blu-ray disc with either software!
    Cheers

  • Blu-ray Error: "file already exists", Code: "6", "Audio buffer underflows. Total bit rate too high

Hopefully someon can help me out here - I'm stuck in my tracks.    I'm reading through lots of threads on this topic, but don't understand what is going wrong here.    CS6.  Note: I have used Encore prior to put this material on a disc.  I presently have a separate sequence paired down with only about 1/5 of the whole production.   1920x1080i, 29.97, H.264 Blu-ray, VBR 2-pass, PCM inside PP to produce .m4v/.wav.  Here is what is confusing me - I tried a target of 10 and a max of 20 and I still get this error.   I have tried different max bit rate "Default Transcode" settings in Encore as well.    Note the time code listed "0.000000" - maybe that tells someone something.    I don't really understand Encore yet, so maybe it is something I set wrong in Encore vs. my exports?

There are many similar, but not identical errors. And I assume you had already followed John's advice to review older threads. It is true they never quite pin a single set of issues down.
What specific version of Encore? Updated to 6.0.2.004? Encore staff once said updates solved some of these errors.
You say .wav for source files in Encore. But what format in the project? ac3?
Your versiono f the error is different from other one I see because it has a "audio buffer" rather than "video buffer" underflow.

  • Encore CS4 bluray error: fatal error, code "6" Internal error m_ptsOfNextGOPis empty

I am using Encore CS4 4.0.1 (the latest version from what I can see) on Mac OSX 10.6.3
I am on a Mac Pro 1,1 with 2 2GHz Xeon Dual Core Processors
I have 5 GB of Ram
The Mac has the standard Nvidia 7300GT.
I have successfully created several BD and DVDs and nothing has changed.
I have a 1080 50i BD h.264 project with 2 hour 37 minute timeline and I am looking to create an h.264 BD 25 image. The project has two menus: a main menu with two buttons and a chapter selection menu with 7 buttons. Check project reveals no issues with anything.
I have searched the forum and tried the various solutions I found such as disc name, etc. The name is all in capitals with no spaces.
I googled and found msxml problems/solutions and other such things related to windows that do not apply to me as I am on Mac.
I get the following error at the very end of the build process:
Encore CS4 bluray error: fatal error, code "6" Internal error m_ptsOfNextGOPis empty
Any ideas? Hope I gave enough information. Thanks in advance

I do not know exactly what the problem was with the menu. I am assuming the menu was the problem because when I created a new encore project with the same video, audio and photo assets but with new menus there was no problem. I think that at the time I read there some people were having a problem with the template I originally used for my menus so I simply built a new menu from scratch in PS CS3. I think the original menu was party menu hd.
Sorry if that is vague but it worked so I did not look any further into the problem and I have not had any recurrence.

  • Solution to Blu-ray Error: "Fatal Error", Code: "6", Note:"

I had previously been able to export to a BD image with no problem and suddenly I started getting this error. People seem to be finding various ways to work around the problem including rerouting menu buttons and installing MSXML 6.0, none of which worked for me. However, I finally remembered that I had moved the Encore project files into a new folder. When I opened the project from that folder all the assets were found and it previewed perfectly. So when I went to build I did not suspect this initially since the error code is so cryptic.
(Note to Adobe: Thank you for at least detecting the error and not just crashing. However, if you are going to go to the trouble, might as well print out something useful like "File not found: <filename>". At the very least every error should include a source file and line number so that the problem can be easily reported and traced to its source.)
Anyway, my solution was to move the project files back to their original locations. Now my BD image builds without a problem. Hope this helps. I am going to file a bug report with Adobe.

    Hi.
I just wanted to point out that this error is:
    1) Really REALLY poor, and desperately needs some "work" in Encore so as to provide the exact problem that Encore is encountering;
    2) Also related to (at least in my case) an outright bug. Specifically, BEWARE USING "Save As" in Encore!! Whereas David seems to have gotten into trouble by moving things around, I simply used the standard Save As option to produce a copy of a project, so as to preserve the original. The led directly to this totally useless error.
My original project (from pre-CS3 Encore) had been HD material, that I'd built (in 2.0) for a standard DVD. When Blu-Ray capabilities arrived with CS3, I simply wanted to replace the video component in the project, and (finally) burn a high-def disk. However, I didn't want to "mess up" the original project, so I opened it, saved it with a new name, and then did the video replacement in the "cloned" project. Attempting to build a disk from that project, dropped me right into this "Code 6" error, with absolutely no clue what was wrong. On a whim (and a guess), after reading David's note, I went back and simply did the same video replacement in the "original" project, and lo and behold, no more error. Obviously, the Save As process either left out some important piece of the project, OR, mangled some critical component.
Bottom line, the CS3 Production package is not exactly "cheap". At this price point, this software should be far less buggy that this, and when something does go wrong, the errors that it produces should be one heck of a lot more explicit about what isn't right.
    All, FWLIW.

  • Blu-Ray Error: "file already exists", Code: "6", Note"video buffer undeflows.  Total bitrate is too

    Hi,
I have just installed CS6 upgrading from CS4.  I am doing a large project (2.5 hours of video) and have transcoded 6 sections successfully from Premier Pro using VBR-1 - the default.  I saw somewhere on one of the forums that this may be a problem, but I cannot work out how to change to VBR-2 as it suggested or CBR for that matter.  I have added a second sound trak and to enure this was not the problem I deleted it again.
I have tried several different options in Encore, and by increasing the max bit rate it seems to get further along, but I get the identical error.  Currently, without the second sound trach and with a max bit rate of 40 it writes 4.1gb of the 31.0 gb file (it's a double layer blu-ray).
    Any ideas?
    Piccadillypunter

Thanks for the update idea - I had looked for Creative Suite updates, but they dont show there - don't know why.
I have now applied updates to Premier Pro and Encore.  I also re-transcoded all assets from premier pro using VBR-2 with a target just under 23 and a max rate just under 25 (it wouldn't let me get 23 and 25 but just a fraction under in both cases).  I then set up a completely new Encore project to ensure there was no "carry over" and tried again.  This time it gets 12gb into 29gb of writing the file and then gives the same error, but with a different ridiculous number -1.04nnnn.
I'm out of ideas.  Does anyone anywhere actually successfully use CS6 to write Blu-ray images - or this simply a marketing ploy for something that doesn't actually work?
This is sooooo frustrating - it gets so close, but then this bitrate thingy is a killer.  Does anyone know what the actual problem is - or is it a furfie  - (that maybe an Aussie expression - is it really not thast problem but that is what shows)
    Hope someone can help me.

  • Blu-ray Error: "fatal error", Code: "6", Note:"

I tried burning a Blu-ray in Encore CS3 and it worked once. Since then it spends hours trancoding stuff when I go to burn and eventually just blows up with this error (the subject of this message).
Anyone know what is going on?

Happened to me a couple of times.
One solution was setting the button routing 'automatically'
In other words: no changing of the button routing before building.
Another time the issue was caused by a file which was transcoded but seemed to cause the error.
I succeeded in finding the file, removed it, imported it again and let it transcode.
    This solved it for me.
    Good luck!
