how to connect my sony blue ray play to wifi via my airport utility?

The airport utility has nothing whatever to do with the sony bluray player.
The airport utility is to setup wireless in the airport.. once you setup wireless then you use the sony setup for wireless in the player as per its manual.
Please do keep the wireless names short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
As well as pure alphanumeric passwords if you want to do this successfully.

  • Blu-ray play error, hp pavilion

    ==================================================================
Some blu-ray discs like Fantasia and Scott Pilgrim do not play with HP MediaSmart DVD saying every few seconds  "content is protected. content is not allowed to play in current display mode". win 7-64 bit, hp pavilion elite hpe-361c dvi or hdmi cable. Same discs play fine on hp pavilion m9457c with vista 64 bit
Some discs do play, like Karate Kid and Expendables. Strangely, Expendables played fine, reinserted and displayed the error, reinserted and played fine!
hp tech support in India spent a few hours of my life uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and software to no avail. hp tech support US, level 2 suggested googgling for codecs!?

Eitanmoi, here is a firmware update for the DVD drive.  It says that it adds Win7 support.  I believe this may solve your problem.  Please let us know if it works or not.  This will help us for future reference to help others.

  • PE11 Blu-ray play problem, etc.

I just created my first video in PE11 and burned a Blu-ray disc. I made it as an auto play instead of with menus.
When I played it in my Blu-ray player, it would play but functions such as fast forward and rewind were not available.
Any ideas about what would cause this?
Also, I'm somewhat confused about the best method of creating a Blu-ray disc image to burn multiple discs rather than
waiting for each burn to render. It doesn't seem to have this function in PE for Blu-ray although it is available for DVD.
However, I noticed that there are multiple choices for saving as an HD file. Would any of these work?
Also, I have Roxio Toast 11. Would it be better to burn the first disc in PE and then copy the disc in Toast as a disc image?
This would seem to make sense, but I'm wondering if it is the best way.
I'm using a recent model Macbook Pro.
    Thanks for any help offered.

Unlike the Publish+Share/Disc DVD and AVCHD, Blu-ray has never had a burn to folder option, just burn to Blu-ray disc.
Many have used the Phantom Burner in conjunction with Premiere Elements to create a disc image for the Blu-ray. I have written about it in several places. Here is the latest.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/11/pe12-disc-imagephantom-burner-pe.html
The above is applicable to Premiere Elements 11 Windows.
You wrote for your autoplay Premiere Elements Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc...
When I played it in my Blu-ray player, it would play but functions such as fast forward and rewind were not available.
Any ideas about what would cause this?
This would seem to me to be a function of your player and its remote, not Premiere Elements. For comparative purposes, have you looked at "fast forward" and your player with an autoplay disc as well as a disc with menus in this instance? Are you using a BD-R or BD-RE Blu-ray disc? What do the instructions for your player say about it fast forward function and Blu-ray discs?
    You may not be alone.

  • Blu Ray playing software

Hey I know this has been battled a lot but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for me.
I have an external blu ray player that sis recognized by my Mac, I can see the Blu Ray drive and the Blu Ray disc information but I cannot play the video itself. One third party software that kind of works is the macgo Mac Bluray Player but it only plays the video itself it doesn't let you access the menus or anything. Does anybody know of any third party software that allows you to watch Blu Rays?

    Use Google too: http://www.macblurayplayer.com/

  • Toshiba F755-S5219 wont play blu rays

    Hi,
I have a Qosmio F755-S5219 with a built in Blu Ray player. I had been able to play blu rays including 3D blu rays.
I recently updated to the newest Nvidia driver and Toshiba Blu Ray player (1.05.130) and have been unable to play blu rays ever since.
    DVDs play fine.
I tried reinstalling blu ray player and super ic software.
I tried reinstalling original display driver, blu ray player software and Super IC
I reinstalled current version of BIOS
I tried reupdating to Ver 1.05.130 and current nVidia Display driver.
I just tried updating to 1.05.207
DVDs always work, but blu rays auto open the toshiba player then go to a blank screen with 00:00:00 and stop
Blu Rays play fine in ArcSoft total Theater 6. So it is clearly and issue with The Toshiba software.
I contacted toshiba tech support, and the first level told me to do the same things I've done and Level 3 said they would charge me for any more help.
    Any Ideas would be appriciated.
(and yes I've tried FIX IT)

    Hi
The WinDVD BD was preinstalled on notebooks which are equipped with an BD drive.
The notebook seems to be an Toshiba Australian series and I found all the drivers and tools here:
    http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/qosmio/f60/pqf65a-00y002/download
There you can see that an WinDVD 8 Blu-ray Player Update is available for download but for models with Blu-ray.
If you are still using the original Toshiba Windows system, then you could try to set the notebook back to factory settings using the HDD recovery option or Recovery disk (you have to create such disk) and then can check if WinDVD BD would appear as preinstalled software.

  • My Blu-ray drive will play Blu-rays but won't recognize DVDs or CDs

Hi I have a Pavilion dv6 recently had a problem and I restored it back to factory settings. Thing is before I did this I tried making recovery discs. It made it through the first, then half way through the second, but said the second one was full then when I tried to put another disc in it wouldn't recognize it. I took the comp back to factory settings, but the problem still persists. My Blu-ray play is the HP BD-ROM BDCTD03HA . I am running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I can provide any other info if needed.

I forgot to mention I have tried just about everything and so far nothing has worked. Please I just want my dvd player back!

  • Can i use the apple tv3 to connect a blu-ray player to the internet through the ethernet port?

I Have a blu-ray player which can access teh internet but only through a wired connection. Unfortunately, do to some renovating a can't really pass a wire from my router to the player. I was thinking of getting the express base station and hooking up an ethernet cable and getting it to connect that wy. However, for just an extra 10$ i can get teh apple tv and started to wonder if it would do the same.
Anybody know if i connect an an ethernet cable between my blu-ray player and apple tv3 if it will be able to connect to the internet?
    Thanks for you help!

Your blu-ray play can't play to your AppleTV, neither using a wired connection or wi-fi.
AppleTV only support compressed format.  Therefore, your AppleTV require your content to be within your iTunes library and on the supported format; http://www.apple.com/appletv/specs.html
There are however wireless devices on which you can plug an HDMI cable.  I don't know the price of such wireless devices but you'll find them on the net.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-480t computer and an HP bd 340i 12x blu-ray writer

I purchased HP 12x Blu-Ray writer model bd340i in the middle of last year. When I purchased my desk top from HP in December of 2010 model HP Pavilion Elite HPE-480t I installed the burner and every thing was working fine. Today I tried to burn a blu-ray disc and it came back with can not read media, that was on imgBurn. So I tried the same on the systems burner and it came back as no disc in tray. I also tried CyberLink burning software and the same thing no disc.
I then tried to play both store bought and home made blu-ray disc and it could not read the media. I was ready to blame it on a bad burner but I then tried a regular DVD both store bought and home made and it played fine. I then tried to burn a dvd single and dual-layer with all three burning softwares I have and again it was fine, no problems. Its just the blu-ray media that can not be read or writen. The only blu-ray media I used from day one has been Kodak and never had a problem. Thats what baffles me.
I at this point dont know if its a hardware or software problem with the computer or blu-ray burner or both. 3 different burning programs works fine on DVD's but not blu-ray, Plays DVD's fine but can not play or burn blu-ray discs.
Could it be the blu-ray laser crapped out and the dvd reading and writing laser is still working ?  Does a blu ray burner even have to lasers for the two medias [DVD and Blu Ray]???
Everything else with the computer works fine. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and its the same, I tried to update the drivers and firmware on your site and still did not work. Please some help.

    Arcticwolf, welcome to the forum.
Let's try another burner to see if that helps solve your problem.  I have used CDBurnerXP for years.  It has burned CD/DVD's when no other burner would work.
Please let us know if this solves your problem or not.

  • Dropped and glitched sound with dv9700 when watching Blu-Ray over HDMI connected to receiver

I have hooked my dv9730nr up to my receiver (Onkyo TX-SR606) via HDMI, which then passes video through HDMI to my Panasonic plasma.  When I do this, Blu-Rays have an audio glitch every 4-6 seconds, which sounds like either quick repeated sounds or a half-second pause in audio.  The audio and video otherwise are great.  PowerDVD Ultra reports that I am outputting 5.1 Dolby Digital via PCM, and the sound from my speakers support this.  With other video, including 1080p .WMVs that I've made myself, there is no problem.  I've disabled the laptop's monitor, and am only using the TV as my display.  When I bypass the receiver, and hook my laptop straight into my TV via HDMI, there is no problem, but my TV has no built-in speakers, so no audio is being passed via HDMI.  I have no other receivers with HDMI to test my laptop, so I'm not sure that that the problem is not with the receiver.  I've tried disabling all audio output modes except for 24bit 48KHz under Realtek Digital Output in the Playback Devices control panel.
I'm not worried about this, since I have a dedicated Sony Blu-Ray played on the way, but I am disappointed in the HDMI audio performance of this laptop.  I suspect the problem lies in the Realtek HD Audio drivers, or something wrong with the related hardware on the motherboard.  I updated my drivers from v6.0.1.5494 A to v6.0.1.5548 A, with no change.  I will try driver Vista_R213 off the Realtek website, although I'm not sure that this is compatible with my laptop.
    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit SP1
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 @ 1.66 Ghz
    3 GB RAM
    nVidia GeForce 8600M GS
    RealTek High Definition Audio

Well slap me twice and call me Sally, it would appear these new Realtek drivers fixed the problem.  The drivers can be found here, but be prepared for a slow connection to the Realtek website.  Now I can indeed enjoy video and sound the way it's meant to be done via Blu-Ray, kudos Realtek for fixing this problem.

  • W500 Blu-Ray Mat**bleep**a BD-MLT UJ232A will not recognize Blu-Ray DVD movie

Recently purchased W500 4061- W6U with Mat$hita BD-MLT UJ232A optical drive at Firmware level "TC02" will not recognize a brand new Blu-Ray DVD.  But will recognize and play a normal (non-Blu-Ray) DVD.  The system sees the Blu-Ray optical drive and shows it is working normally.  I attended to update the firmware, but the Lenovo Optical Disc Drive Firmware Update 1.6 utility, states the firmware is already at the current level and under the header New Firmware states "None".  Any ideas?  Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It has nothing to do with the drive.
Blu-ray movies are encrypted using keys. Hackers break the keys. So new Blu-ray movies then come out using new keys. WinDVD (your Blu-ray playing software) contains the keys, and needs to be updated. So see if there's a WinDVD update available from Lenovo's site. If not, then you'll have to pester Lenovo to get a new update from Corel. You can't get the update from Corel yourself.
Or you can simply buy a better Blu-ray player program, such as Cyberlink PowerDVD.
    Good luck!

  • H.264 Blu-Ray rendered .m4v files won't playback in any media player except Adobe software

Hello guys and thank you in advance for your help. I am going to pull my hair out!
I had to reinstall Windows 7 and am experiencing an issue that is driving me crazy. All of my 720p H.264 Blu-Ray.m4v files rendered with After Effects will not play in any player I try in Windows. I've tried Windows Media Player, VLC, and Media Player Classic. I've tried with a clean install and no other codecs except those included with Windows 7. I've tried installing additional h.264 codecs. I've tried installing ffdshow and other codecs as well and no matter what I do, the files will not play at all.
The only way I can preview the file it to load it in AE or Encore or something similiar. Unfortunately, this is not the best solution for me. I'd love to be able to preview the files quickly and efficiently through Windows Explorer / Media Player without opening Adobe software. I don't think that's too much to ask.
Another issue is that before I reinstalled Windows that these files played back just fine in Windows Media Player! I don't know why it was working and now it's not on a clean install. All of the hardware is the same. On the original working install, I don't recall installing any additional codec packs or anything. It just worked...
Regular .mp4 H.264 files (not Blu-Ray) play just fine in all players. Something the Blu-Ray spec is doing to the file causes it to not work. And changing the extension to mp4 does nothing.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong! Is it something with the Mainconcept codec? Is it something with my drivers? What am I missing?!?

Thanks for the suggesstion Mylenium, but that didn't help either.
I installed PowerDVD which came with the Blu-Ray drive, and also a trial of ArcSoft's Blu-Ray player, and neither would play the files.
Any other suggestions? This is killing me. I don't understand why they would play before and not now. The files arne't corrupt. Even new rendered outputs in the same preset won't play. They'll load into Encore just fine though and even are listed as "Don't Transcode", so I know the files themselves are okay.
Could it have anything to do with drivers? I was testing an Nvidia video card with my last build and now I'm just using a Sandy Bridge chip with Intel's on-board video. But I do remember even when I took the Nvidia card out and just ran on-board video the last time, the files still played fine...

  • Is my Blu-ray Player compatible with OS 10.8?

  • Upgrading from DVD to blu ray reader

    Hi,
i am thinking of upgrading my DVD drive to a BLU ray drive the model number is hp pavilion 6121tx please suggest blu ra reader for my system or better if it would be a blu ray reader/writer .
    thank you

Here are some readers/writers from e-bay that will work, make sure they are SATA interface.
     http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=laptop+blu-ray+players&_sacat=0&_odkw=laptop+blu-ray+readers&_os...
They are all standard sizes, however some of the new ones are extra slim, make sure and measure you old one to compare. The seller will have this information.
The face plate and rear mount are reused on the new drive.
Some Blu-ray playing software, free for HP owners.
     ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53001-53500/sp53029.exe
Save the file to the desk top and install it from there, not from a temporary folder. Disable your antivirus and firewall when installing and restart after the installation. Load the Blu-ray automatically with out opening the software.
I would suggest that you get an external Blu-ray writer, the laptop ones are not that great, the readers are OK though.

There is also one available from HP and it will have the correct face plate and mount on it. The part number is, 641824-001.
This was taken from your service guide on page 32
