Blu-ray problems

I have had a samsung for the past 3 years and previously I was able to play blu-rays but suddenly today I cant. It won't even recognize that there is anything in the disk drive. all it does is start it's whirring sound like any time but then just dies off. I can easily play DVDs and CDs though

Welcome to HP support forum. Samsung what ever you've got is not a HP product. Since it still can play DVD's and CD's, I think the lens may need to clean or even to replace. Please try to clean it first:

Blu-Ray Problem of Menu

     I do a project in Encore CS5 (5.0.0.508) of 4.7 or a DVD 8.5 GB PAL 720x576 5 stars it works in any DVD player. I do blu-ray PAL 1280x720 movie of the same menu of the Display is green and does not see the display of menu buttons, I've done with one with a photo (still image), with pounds of Encore menus with motion, as the codec used H .264 and MPEG2 codec and is equal. and the preview work
     But the menus are the same as 4.7 or 8.5 Gb '. But when I do the blu ray and burn the ISO menu is green but the film is direito.por it owes nothing to do with the layers
open a menu of any library in this case was the encore wedding montage Wide Menu. edited in photoshop to 1280x720, 1280x1024, 720x576 and it was the same green screen and the Butterfly clearer in the chapters but not read.
     The format of the project is 1280x780 50 fps PAL. I've worked with cs4 work right and never had this problem since I upgraded to BR cs5 never worked.

Blu ray problem v4.1.2 - WORKAROUND

Hi, since updating compressor to 4.1.2, I like may others have had problems trying to create a Blu ray image or burn to disc using the Create Blu ray setting. This is a real problem that affects many different people, we have 5 macs all different configs and every one exhibits the same problem. It is also NOT file related we have tested many files that have been used successfully before and they have failed.... BUT I have found a workaround that means I can now produce Blu ray again.
1. Open up MPEG Files settings and duplicate MPEG-2 Program stream, 15 Mbps. This will appear in the custom settings menu.
2. Re name the duplicated setting as MPEG-2 Blu ray (or something that works for you)
3. Select the new setting and in the General settings on the right of compressor change the format to Elementary Stream and stream usage to Blu ray
4. In the video settings change encoding mode to Single Pass VBR and choose Automatically select bit rate
5. Now go back to the main settings pane on the left of Compressor, open up Audio formats and duplicate AC3 File, you don't need to change and settings here
That's it, apply to a job, tell compressor to create blu ray, either burn to disc or disc image, it works every time for me. I would prefer to have h264 but as a temporary workaround it means we can get Blu rays out again.

No worries, hope it helped. We are just a small video production outfit in the UK. We have several macs in the office, and Macbook Pro's which come with us on location. We do our updates exactly as anyone with one mac would do, run the update, check it works and then do the same on the other machines. I just missed the Blu ray issue this time!!! Ended up updating all macs before I realised.... schoolboy error!!
Anyway we've produced several more MPEG Blu ray discs today and everything is great, so I guess the issue lies with h264

Hp pavilion DV7 blue ray problems

hello everyone
My pavilion DV7 stopped playing blue ray dvds after upgrading to windows 7. it work perfectly with all other media but when i put blue ray dvd will not recognize it or play it. in device manager i have: optical BD ROM BD-5500s ATA device.
is there a special driver for it of what may be the problem it use to work before.

One possible cause is that there is a problem with the Blu ray laser, but I would definetely try the following to see if it resolves the issue.
Cyberlinks PowerDVD 10 is now available for HP notebooks and can be downloaded on the link below - save the installer to your downloads folder.

When the download has completed, open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features and uninstall HP MediaSmart DVD if you see this in the list of installed software ( if you don't have this software installed, go straight to installing Power DVD 10 ). When the uninstall has completed, restart the notebook and when Windows has fully loaded, double click the PowerDVD 10 installer to begin the installation. Again, when the installation has completed, restart the notebook and then try a Blu ray disc.

FCPX Blu Ray problem

Hi all!
I have filmed and edited in HD etc and built both a SD DVD then a BR DVD made the menu in FCPX then send
it to the haed drive as a img file for testing and burning using toast.
The SD DVD has come out well and plays no problems. I am using Tayo DVDs and Tayo BR-
Now when I put the BR disc in my BR DVD player before it comes to the menu I get a bit of a green screen, then a flash
of white noise then the menu comes up, also when i press enter to play sometimes it misses the first 2 seconds of the film
almost if its try to get lock.
It plays the film Ok and goes back to the menu but its the occasional full green screen and white noise both for half a second
etc which makes me feel it aint right.
I have tried burning stright to disc from fcpx to remove iso and toast etc but it still happens
I went out and bought a new BR DVD player so I now have 2 to test disc on and they both do it and they both have upto date firmware,
Any solutions?

I think I found the answer. Looks like Both go in the burn.
1st, sorry for the short hand speech and typos. (BDMG should be BDMV)
In videohelp form it was suggested that both the BDMV and the CERTIFICATE should be in the burn.

Incase someone is searching for this same question, I thought I'd give the answer I found and break it down a little further.
Q: How do I output to Blu-Ray in Final Cut Pro X? I don't see a Blu-Ray option.
A: In 10.0.8 that option is hidden from the main "share" menu.
Here is Apples "how to" page on how to find it, along with other info on Destination Prefs:

Basically you select Share, then the plus sign "Add Destination" located at the bottom of the list, then Blu-Ray.
When you select Blu-Ray, in the preference window, the first pref. is "Output device" with two options your burner or hard drive. If you pick hard drive you get a .IMG that you would open and place the contents into a burn.
Q: What Blu-Ray burner is in your Mac?
A: a Panasonic UJ267
Very overpriced and had to modify (voided the warranty) in order for it to fit in my 15-inch, Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
I switched one of the covers on the Panasonic with my existing to get the right fit. One screw hole had a "no tamper" label that I destroyed, so that voided my warranty.
Q: why not an external?
A: I have one but it's big and needs AC power so it's not easy to move.
This is soooooo much easier because it's so mobile.
24 Gig backups of all my stuff for a $1 per burn is priceless.

Blue Ray problems

Laste year i purchased a Pavillion H8-1350ea and only now for the first time am trying to play a Blue Ray disc. When I load the disc it tells me I need to update Cyberlink Power DVD but when I accept the update option it tells me there is a problem and windows closes me down.
As a silver surfer I simply dont understand what is going on. I purchased this machine pas a high spec machine that would perform simple tasks such as playing a blue ray without any issues.
As cyberlink was a preinstalled programme I am assuming that this should be the designated Blue Ray player.
Can anyone please point me down the right track

BH was responding just as I was preparing my response. If the update he gave you works, then it would be a better choice than the link I gave because the retail version of Cyberlink will cost you money. Assuming the HP version can get the updated data needed to run the newer BluRays, it will work for awhile. I suspect it will eventually require a paid update too.
As far as the sound, it sound play through speakers. The DVI cable is necessary for BluRay playback as VGA does not support the HD specs. However, if the HDMI cable is used, then sound should be delivered via that to a TV.

Encore CS3 blu-ray Problem: Nicht genügend Speicherkapazität

Guten Morgen,
ich ärger mich schon seit einigen Tagen mit Encore CS3 herum. Ich muss eine blu-ray DVD erstellen mit 12 Menüseiten und insg knapp 2std Filmmaterial. Momentan hab ich nur die 12 Menüseiten drin.
Und jetzt kommt quasi bei jedem zweiten Mausklick die Fehlermeldung:
"Nicht genügend Speicherkapazität. Speichern und schließen Sie sofort alle Dateien, um Datenverlust zu vermeiden."
Zu wenig Speicher kann nicht sein. Hab auf allen Platten noch jeweils über 150GB frei.
Auslagerungsdatei sollte mit 6 - 50GB auch groß genug sein.
An was kann das liegen?
Kann mir da wer weiterhelfen?
Andere Frage: Wie stell ich Encore auf Englisch um?(Eine workspace.xml kann ich nirgendwo finden)
Mit der englischen Fehlermeldung würde ich evtl im großen weiten Internet was dazu finden können.

Blu-ray problems with GT70 Dragon 2202 edition

I've had the laptop for a couple of months now and things seemed ok. I would say in the last couple of weeks I've noticed an increasing number of blu-ray discs that the drive has a problem with reading... it's really slow to 'explore' them. I have powerDVD v13 and that will tell me the bluray is corrupted when trying to open it. I have absolutely no problems with regular DVDs, just blu-rays seem to have a problem.
I found on the MSI support site a tool to upgrade the DVD to a newer firmware version for what seems to be this very problem but that didn't help.
I'm just concerned that this seem to get progressively worse over the last couple of weeks vs always being like this.
Any thoughts ?

After talking to tech support (only option they suggested was doing a full system restore - which didn't help) I submitted for RMA on the 1st. Hopefully they will put another brand of bluray in. Doing some google searches on the TSS model it shipped with shows many complaints about either the drive not reading DVDs or Blurays after some time.

Sorry for the delayed response. Took a small vacation for New Years. At this point you have done the necessary troubleshooting. There really isn't a lot we can do when it comes to disc readers. Uninstall / reinstall software. Uninstall / reinstall drivers.
That pretty much points us to hardware. Inside a reader there is an optical reader. If that reader is damaged or dirty it could have problems reading discs. This sounds like where the problem may lay with you.
I have known some to fix these types of problems by cracking open the reader and examining the optical reader and attempting to clean it, this is a little beyond anything I have done as the prices of readers are reasonable and I have just replaced them in the past.

FCStudio 7 - Burning to Blu Ray problems

I edit with FCS 7 and trying to burn to Blu Ray, however i keep getting a message 'internal file error, Qmaster file not found'?? Should be simple as 'file' then 'share' but not happening!! Its recognising the blu ray burner but wont let me 'share'. Any one know what the settings have to be????

I remember one thing , if you use Share with a QuickCluster you will receive a message like Video file from QMaster cant be found.
This is a bug from day one with Final Cut Studio 3, so if you need fast compression for Blu-Ray and dont have Matrox Compress HD you must export a Self Contain QuickTime file and bring-it in Compressor with a Blu-Ray Template and Job Action to burn a Blu-Ray.
Be carefull about Matrox Compress HD since for now this card remove the Chapters Markers with the actual drivers but it is a real time option best used with Toast 10 to bring back Chapters Markers even if it is at specific fix intervals.

Another Blu-ray problem

While burning my 26 minute HDV film to Blu-ray, it was 546MB into the 3.18GB burn, when it suddenly stopped and produced a window saying
Runtime Error!
Program:C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS4\Adobe Encore.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way
Please contact the applications support team for more information
It's Friday evening so I can't do that till Monday. What has happened? The previous time I tried to burn a disc it did the same, but the time before that it burned all the way through OK (and plays OK). All the settings were the same. The only thing that has changed is I'm using a disc made by a different manufacturer.
Any ideas?

You are correct. The RunTime error seems to crop up more during installation, than when a program is in use. Still, was hoping that an updated RunTime.dll might do it for you. Obviously, your computer knew you were about to do something to it, kinda' like the HAL9000 in 2001. It then decided to "behave!"
I'm glad to hear that you got your Project burned. I hope that the RunTime error never surfaces. If it does, "threaten" your computer again - might just work a second time. I wish that we knew what caused the error, but sometimes the end result is all we can ask for. If it crops up again, note any dialog that might be involved. Also, a close look at the Event Viewer in both the System and the Applications tabs might give some useful info.

Streaming from Mac to Blue Ray problem

I used TVMOBiLi as previously suggested, but anything that was a digital download purchase for some reason does not allow for viewing or listening ( movie or music ). I get one of two error messages. Either Not Supported File, or Not Supported Video Codec. All other videos ( home movies, and music and pictures are viewed and listened to with no issues. Any suggestions how to resolve?

I received a Blue Ray DVD player as a gift and it had Wi-Fi, so I wanted to stream it, but Samsung's program AllShare, I was unable to locate. I was provided TVMOBiLi through this forum and gave it a try. Everything else seems to work. Just not the Digital downloaded purchases.
Not sure what else to try.

HP Mediasmart DVD - Blu Ray Problem

Hi I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-2300.
Last month I had a problem trying to play some blurays with the media smart. It was like the player tries to rplay the disk but after a while nothing happened, so I tried to update the software but it displayed an error during installation (something about it couldn't find a dll file in the mediasmart dvd folder), I tried to uninstall it but the same problem was displayed. After struggling with that, i decided to restore my laptop with the recovery disks.
It worked, I was able to watch my blurays, but recently the same problem returned. So I did a little research, and I found that the PC or the device manager sees 2 BD drives (F and H). I also found that I can see all the bluray disk files but I cannot play any of them on the media smart dvd.
I also installed the Power DVD 10, to test it as a trial and it cannot play the movies either, it says that the disk has an unrecognize media format, or something like that.
So I decided to try to update with the lastest version (4.2.4701) but the error I talked about earlier appeared again, I have the previous version (4.1.4328).
Since the media smart dvd worked until now I only run a few windows updates and some HP updates (like Quick launch buttons and chipset). I wonder if these updates have some relation with the problem.
BTW: I can watch DVD movies with no problem in the Media Smart DVD, the issue only appears with BD disks.
I hope you can help me...

You get the message ; "the content are protected and can not be shown in the conditions selected", when you are trying to connect an external monitor. Hit the "Windows" and "P" key at the same time to select "Projector Only".
If this is not the situation, please post again.
