Blue and dotted lines on Tecra series!!

I own a Toshiba Tecra laptop, and I recently got viruses through downloading music.
I was using my laptop this afternoon when it suddenly froze, with the screen image turning slightly pinkish.
I rebooted, but the windows Vista startup screen with the logo and black background had blue, dotted, vertical lines all accross it...and it never actually booted up.
I tried doing system restores and startup repairs and whatnot, and nothing worked, so I reformatted. After this, the computer seemed fine for a minute or two.
But when I had to restart as a part of the reformatting process, I had the same problem. After some messing around with the laptop and another attempt to repair startup issues, I got the computer back up again.
I just restarted it for sh*ts and giggles, and it worked fine. BUT, the blue dotted lines are still there (only on that first screen with the logo)! The computer runs fine, as I'm posting this from it right now, but the blue lines concern me, as I've read online that this can be a problem with a graphics card or something.
Oh, and one more thing: my bottom toolbar is cutoff, only displaying half of it...can't really read the time...is the screen shifted down or something? Is there some way to fix this?
Any thoughts/suggestions about the 1)blue dotted lines or 2)screen being shifted slightly downward?
Thanks!

Since its happening in DOS as well, it cannot be a software problem. It sounds like the screen or mainboard may need replacing.
I suggest you bring the laptop to a service center for repair.

  • Sneak Peek #3 about the future of Photoshop: dashed and dotted lines

Zorana Gee shared another Photoshop Sneak Peek, this time about dashed and dotted lines:
Could it be useful in your workflow?

I think dotted and dashed lines with gradients sounds useful. I won't have to go to Illustrator and back to get those functions.
    BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY
I would like to see some other upgrades to the pen tool and vector masks:
    • All too often I can't really see the pen tool line when I am making a vector selection – it gets lost in the clutter. Could there be an option to assign a color to the path? Hot green or magenta?
    • I would like to be able to change the size that vector points display. If I could make the points appear slightly larger it would often make editing easier.
    • I would like to be able to select two points very close to one another and JOIN them like in AI. I don't understand why the pen tool doesn't share more of the functions of the pen tool in Illustrator such as CUT. It sometimes seems like the vector tools in Photoshop and Illustrator were developed completetly independent of one another.
Attached (I hope) are images demonstrating how hard it can be to see paths. Can you see the paths? In the first image the path is there, not selected. In the second the path is selected. This makes my work very irritating sometimes.

  • When I come from outside and press the home button to turn my iPod on, there is white, light blue and red lines but it is transparent enough that I can see my background, time, etc. It hasn't been water damaged, so that cant be the problem.

When I come from outside and press the home button to turn my iPod on, there is white, light blue and red lines but it is transparent enough that I can see my background, time, etc. It hasn't been water damaged, so that can't be the problem. I was thinking maybe it is just because of the cold but, I don't like having my iPod doing that whenever I come back from the cold. However, I was in class too and this problem happened but it was inside! So I am very worried, I have dropped my ipod a few times but it hasn't fallen that hard to effect it.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Iphone 4s less than year old att, want work, blue and white lines black screen

I have a iphone 4s with ATT, not even a year old.  I dropped phone and now the screen is black with blue and white lines.  I have attempted to reset the phone with no success.  Is this a matter I can resolve with ATT or do I have to drive to genuis bar to get resolved?

It's probable that the iPhone has suffered hardware damage, and I don't believe an AT&T Store can do anything for you on such issues. You'll need to take or send your iPhone to Apple and pay their out-of-warranty service charge to get the iPhone replaced.
    Regards.

  • Cube Spin Transiton Shows Horizonal Blue and White Lines through out Poss BUG?

Don't know if this is a bug but I am seeing a 2 to 5 pixel Blue Line (the same colour as the CTI, CYAN) on the Cube Spin Transition when in use in Premiere Pro CC.
    I am on 8.0.1.
I also notice that it appears on the renders and exported material.
Original Sequences are HDV 50i 1440x1080 and abit of 1980 x 1080 @29.97 MP4 Files taken from a Sanyo XACTI Camera.
It is visable when both playing back and scrubbing or parking the CTI inbetween the 2 clips, I am also seeing a White Line not as think at times on the left side of the Transition.
It looks like the Enable Overscan Transition setting that I used to have in EDIUS, where the default settings where set for 3% Overscan and had to be set to 0% for Transitions.
I am using an ASUS 760GTX 4GB Card with MPE On.
Just wondering if there was a quick fix before I go though and have replace this transition with a similar one, though have used it 30+ times in this project so far, am gonna have alook out see if I can see a free Cube Spin/Advance Type Transition on the internet to use as I purposely chose this on
    as it fits in well.
anyway, I noticed this Line Appearing thoughout the editing process and thought that it was like Premiere Pro way of tell me that the transition had begun, like the show end of media indicator and not though that it would actually show in the final exports on the render, even on the downscale it shows when rendered to MPEG-2 DVD.
I saw another post on this on here but that dates back to CS 5.5.
I have attached a few grabs to show you. have to look very closely or download them as on whit background, but on the first there is a very thin white line and on the left of the frame and you will see the cyan line on the right a bit thicker
The First one is the very start of the transition, where the CTI hits the 1st Frame of the Transition
. Not on the left a Thin White Line and as Described on the Right the Cyan Slithly Thicker, Looks to be Same or Simialr Colour to The CTI.
Then as the transitions moves, though, the left white line disappears and you have the right Cyan Line Showing all through the transition, until it is completed.
As say, if there is a simple fix, then it would be appreciated so save having to alter all of the existing ones, as I say, kinda like the Cube Spin.

Appols if the attached images are too big, my fault, not used to posting images, anyways, if you click on each image to show full screen then you can see the lines better.
Anyway, anyone know a free one I can add in that works well?
    Thanks alot

  • Why is my iMac computer screen displaying vertical blue and pink lines through it?, why is my iMac computer screen displaying vertical blue and pink lines through it?

My iMac which is but a few years old at this point is displaying vertical lines thru the computer screen, what is this and what can be done about it?

Do you get the same result starting in Safe Mode ?
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.

  • Against all these blue and pink lines ?

    Hi everybody,
I'm angry to have to join this forum on such a topic.
Browsing these pages I could see I was not the only one experiencing the "cyan and pink vertical lines syndrom" on my 1 year and 3 months old PWB...
Such a problem is not normal on a machine of this price and so recent !
I think we should consider a grouped customer action for Apple to admit this is a defect and that they should take responsiblities for the repair.
I saw that even customers with Applecare have been through a lot of difficulties to get their Powerbook back … not even working after several months.
    What do you think?
    Powerbook G4 17" 1.67GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   RAM 1.5GHz

Hi there, I think you are right. I had even problems with my old G3 Pismo PowerBook, which developed awful pink spots only few weeks after first year warranty! Then I found out on the forums here, that this was one of the most common issue for the Pismo with thousands of posts on this site. However, Apple never did anything about it despite the many complaints.
Then I bought a 17'' PowerBook 1,33 Ghz and after two years it developed horrid vertical lines. Yes, for such an expensive machine I want to be able to use it like 3 years at least. Apple has an issue with displays and it's time they do something about it before losing customers.
Or maybe they can afford to lose customers...?
I bought a second PowerBook after one disappointment, but will I buy a third one?

  • My ipod 5th generation screen cracked a few months ago or so. Today I went on it and the screen was half black and had red, blue and green lines on it the screen does not work and ive tried to reset it but its still the same what is it? how can i fix it?

    help!!!

Unless you purchased the optional AppleCare+ extended warranty,
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for (USA) $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Blue and Black Vertical Lines on Startup then freeze 10.7.3

I have a 2007 MacBookPro.  shortly after installing Lion 10.7.3  and VectorWorks 2011 I started getting vertical blue and black lines across my screen on startup.  They remain with in the apple while the computer boots and the everything freezes.  I tried all of the usual fixes, recovery, safe boot, reset PRAM, battery, etc.  Nothing helps.  When I tried to boot of a system disc I get a message sating that I need to restart my computer.  Upon restart same problem occurs.  2 months ago I took the whole thing apart and cleaned out the guts.  Reconnecting all cables back together, I came across, what I think is the camera cable.  Since my camera has been erratic, i decided to test the problem with it connected and then disconnected.  Connected same problem.  Once i unplugged the camera everything went back to normal, until now.  The same problem returned.  I cleaned out the guts again.  This time I unplugged the hard drive to try and boot off the C drive, but still get the same problem.  This morning It decided to boot up.  I was able to copy my essential files onto an external drive.  Any one have any suggestions on repairs or what the problem may be?  Hardware, Software? Should I do an erase and install if I can get it to boot off the C drive?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Ogelthrorpe.
Once I was able to boot off the C drive and performed a hardware test of the systems disc only to find nothing wrong???????????????  Since It booted this morning, I am working on it as we speak, everything seems normal except I had to adjust the time and date.  Oh, I got a error message upon boot. I don't understand the code in it, but it seemed like the kernel was confused.  I am afraid to shut it off and not be able to reboot again.
Unfortunately, no apple store where I now reside!!!!
    Thanx

Starting a few weeks ago I got a cluster of blue and black lines at the bottom righthand corner of my screen. It was frustrating and annoying but I ignored it. Now there is another one closer to the top lefthand side. It's very frustrating as this computer is only 3 months old!! please help!

  • I have blue and green vertical lines on my iMac which is no longer covered by Applecare. Is it fixable?

I have blue and green vertical lines on my iMac which is no longer covered by Applecare. Is it fixable?

What model iMac? Could be a failing video card but maybe not. Is it that way on every screen, startup to shutdown, any time the screen is lit?
Do you have an AASP nearby? Time to have an estimate made. Fixing it will likely be very expensive.
