Blue and red are reversed on external monitor in ppt presentation mode only

I have a mid-2012 macbook pro and I'm running OS X 10.9.5 Sorry but the problem's a bit complicated so the description is a bit long.
After I upgraded to maverick I started having a problem at work. I am a university professor who uses my laptop to project ppt lectures onto an external monitor. I have never had a problem with it. I am not sure that the problem is related to maverick but it was around that time that it began to occur.
The problem is when I project my display onto the screen before I switch into the presentation mode all the colors on the external monitor are fine, when I switch to the presentation mode on ppt (14.4.5) reds are blues and blues are reds (for most but not all, weird enough) on the external monitor, and blue strawberries are really unappealing. It is not limited to one projector on campus, I've bothered our IT guys to death about it and they've checked the monitors (not the monitors) and they worked trying to fix my problem but they are flummoxed, I've called microsoft about it and stumped them (they refunded my service fee because they couldn't solve the problem). My IT guys did find one work around where I changed the settings for displays in ppt from presenter view to mirror show and that worked but it created other problems in that I couldn't advance my slides easily (for each and every slide advance, I had to "pretend" to "end show" after I'd advanced and then it would advance...) so that's not a viable option either. I opened the ppt presentation in keynote and still get the same color reversal happening. This leads me to think that it may be a maverick problem? But I don't know. Now my semester is gearing up and I'd love for the lovely Apple community experts to chime in and give ideas on how to solve this conundrum! I'd be so very grateful!

Either an update to 10.7.4 or a restart with the computer closed the entire time seems to have solved the problem. Not sure which.

Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store

Blue and red pictures

Hi, I have just uploaded about 800 pictures into a new album within a project (I keep things filed as 1 project per month and split them into albums for each day) from a concert I covered yesterday.
I have just had a look at a few images, seem fine as thumbnails until you go full screen, when the blue / red highlights and shadow warnings are turned on the whole picture is just blue and red (mainly blue actually) and it is impossible to get rid of it however much I do the sliders- if I turn control that off I get a pretty OK picture.
Am running 3.5 on Mavericks in a 2007 iMac with 6gig of RAM (just upgraded from 4gig).
I did a shoot with about a hundred pictures a few days ago and on Sunday it was fine - now it is the same - what is this program doing to me - I really wish I had kept 10.8 and Aperture 2.1 or whatever it was. Can I go backwards to revert in Time Machine I wonder ??
How does Lightroom run under Mavericks ?

After updating to Aperture 3.5 all my Canon 5d Mark II raws were showing the "reprocess raw" alert and the highlights were overexposed.
After adjusting the raw fine tuning parameters - reducing the boost settings - they were much better, also reprocessing the raw helped. The Boost sliders had been reset to maximum value when I checked them.

When I come from outside and press the home button to turn my iPod on, there is white, light blue and red lines but it is transparent enough that I can see my background, time, etc. It hasn't been water damaged, so that cant be the problem.

I was thinking maybe it is just because of the cold but, I don't like having my iPod doing that whenever I come back from the cold. However, I was in class too and this problem happened but it was inside! So I am very worried, I have dropped my ipod a few times but it hasn't fallen that hard to effect it.

Try:

Im getting blue and red playback

anyone know how to fix this ? when im using webcam on messenger its ok but when I record something or use remote monitoring or motion detection. and i open the saved file . the video shows in blue and red colors and in zoom mode. while im recording everything looks ok . only the finish saved product looks like this.
i opened the files with windows media player , nero , ect... all the same

anybody ? i just got the cam so I guess im a newbe. help me. this happened after i installed the new driver and webcam center, but i reinstalled the drivers and webcamcenter from the original cd again and it didn't help.

How to explain. OK 1st all photos are visible in my iPhoto library; however, some are stored on hard drive and some are stored on external. All can be viewed in itunes, but none on the external will sync to my iPad. What's up with that.

What really cheeses me off here is that Apple isn't allowing users enough customization. With each update of iTunes (and the OS and iOS) we're forced to give up something that worked well for the way we want to use the app and make do with fewer (and lamer) options. If Apple keeps this up, they're going to start losing customers fast. I mean if this isn't fixed soon, I'm pretty sure I'm going to give up on iTunes, and then I'll probably go ahead and get a Galaxy when I need to replace my iPhone.
What I don't understand about how they won't let users delete the list of available podcasts now is why? How is this making it a better program? I can understand that not all users are capable enough to right-click on a feed and select "Show all available episodes", so I can see why they want the complete list to be the default (and, surprise, it already was). But to not give users the option to delete that list? It's inconsiderate because it makes navigating feeds with a large back catalogue really frustrating. I'm flabbergasted that no one at Apple considered all the podcast feeds that keep hundreds of episodes available when they removed this feature. It smacks of rank incompetence.
What improvement were they trying to make here anyway? There was nothing wrong to my mind about how podcasts were managed in previous versions. Whatever improvement they were trying to make here, they should have realized that many users would at least want the option to keep things the way they were.
And reverting to a previous version is no solution. I can't sync my iPhone with the new iOS without this update, and (while I do have some issues--specifically how you can't play podcasts in the Music app anymore) I do like the new iOS.

My Iphone 4s was not dropped and when I went to use it the screen was completely covered in blue and red lines I can not see anything is there something that I can do to fix it?

The screen is blue striped and when you try to reset it goes to blue and red. Can not see anything HELP

Bring the phone to Apple for evaluation. Sonds like a hardware issue.

Webcam light on Qosmio F60 blinks between blue and red

Hi guys, I have a Qosmio F60. The problem I think I am facing right now is that the webcam light blinks between blue and red for a while and goes back to blue. And it gets kind of hot behind the webcam on the cover of the laptop.
Is it supposed to get hot when I make video calls?
And what could be causing the blinking of the led light for the webcam.

Dont know exactly what the blinking led could mean but Ive got one question;
Does the webcam work properly? Can you use this as supposed?
If yes, then I would not be worried
By the way the cam should not get warm I think the FL inverter which is placed behind the screen is warm but this is ok.

BH-503 keeps on flashing blue and red when playing

my bh-503 keeps on flashing blue and red when playing,was thinking that maybe it weren't fully charged, but tried playing it when charging it does the same.i think the charging is okay because the red turns into blue after an hour or so,is everything normal?

When the headset is connected with your mobile phone and ready for use, the indicator light of the headset slowly flashes blue.The indicator light is red while charging and when the battery is fully charged, the indicator light turns green.

Why does my macbook pro 13'' mid 2010 screen turns gray and freezes while connected to external monitor?

Every once in a while my macbook pro just randomly instantaneously freezes and the screen turns gray and it has only done it while connected to a high res 22'' Dell external monitor (so far). Usually when this happens I'm listening to music and I noticed my music continues to play but the keyboard is totally unresponsive forcing me to manually press the start button until the computer force shut's down. Luckily I havnt lost anything yet but I hate having to restart my macbook pro that way...just want to know if its a glitch in the software or if I have a more serious hardware problem. This problem has occured maybe 4 times since I got my macbook last summer 2010 so its not too bad, im just worried cause these computers aint cheap.

Macs can be picky about the RAM which they use; the “Your computer restarted because of a problem” message typically indicates a RAM problem. Since you have a Mid 2009 model, it should have 1066 MHz RAM installed rather than 1333 MHz RAM. If your RAM was mislabeled, then that might cast some doubt upon the quality control which that RAM manufacturer uses. My suggestion would be to purchase 1066 MHz RAM from a reputable manufacturer.

Browser window open on laptop, and movie in fullscreen on external monitor???

I recently got a monitor as a second display for my laptop.
I tried to play a movie in fullscreen mode on the external monitor and
have a browser window open on my laptop screen.
Fullscreen mode puts the movie in its own desktop/space and when switch to it
with a gesture, My laptop screen also switches to a respective/designated (but blank) space.
So I cannot at the moment see both windows on different displays at the same time...
Is there any way to do this ???

When you first hook it up it will probably have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the TV but you can move the cursor onto the TV screen.

The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the TV but you can move the cursor onto the TV screen. In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the TV and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen.
You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the TV your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.
Or if you want to use the MacBook’s keyboard and trackpad to work on the MacBook screen while showing it on a TV you can check the Mirror Display box on the lower left hand side of the Arrangement tab under the two monitors box.

External Monitor in Target Display Mode Won't Wake Up

I'm using 2 imac 27' and one is simply used as an external display. When I wake up the computer from sleep, it works on the main monitor, however the external display still has a black screen. I have to unplug the external monitor to get it to wake up. Is there anyway to fix this? I tried unplugging thunderbolt and replugging it in which worked the first time, but same issue again not waking up.

Same issue here, I'm using a macbook pro retina and connecting to a 27 inch imac via thunderbolt and target display mode.
I also have a 27 inch thunderbolt display hooked up via tbolt cable as well.
Whenever the displays goto sleep, the iMac does not wake up with the other screens. My setup knows the iMac is part of the displays, it doesn't act like there are only 2 screens available.
If I press the target display mode shortcut (command + f2) then the imac screen turns on, but now its left target display mode (so it clearly is in target display mode, but does not receive the command to turn on display or ignores it). Hitting hte shortcut again now switches back.
I have not tried just the mbpr + imac as target display mode, but based on your post it still wouldn't wake up if it was the only machine connected.
I've found that when I come back to my computer, i just hit command +f2 on the imac, which wakes it up and jumps to its screen, t hen i hit command +f2 again, and now I wake the mbpr from sleep so it doesn't have to go from 2 screens to 3 screens.
