Blue background behind text

Often when we print from a third party application the PDF comes out with a
dark blue background that is very hard to read.
Any fix for this?

I am the vendor and don't have a clue how to stop this or what could cause it; I am looking for suggestions please.  Or someone to contact off line.

  • Blue background behind some file names in finder

    Hello,
I've been noticing that some of my file names have a blue background behind them, while others don't. It's not an alternating pattern either. It's very random. Most files have the blue background, while some have a while background behind the file name.
This is happening in Finder, and in all folders.
    Thanks

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
I'm wondering though, is there a default setting that is set when the OS is loaded? We just did a re-install of OS 10.4 on the machine, and I'm wondering if there is a setting that needs to be changed for new files that are downloaded from email? I'd just like to get rid of the color altogether.

  • Unaligning background behind text

I put a background behind my headline text, but when i preview, the background jumps about 4 rows away from the text, whats going on
I had initially applied character style before dropping the coloured box behind.

You can do all of this in FCE -
    • Place your jpeg photo (just the photo, no text) in your sequence.
    • Place a text generator clip (Boris Title 3D, Lower Third, etc.) on the next higher video track, above the photo. (If your photo is on V2, put the text clip above it on V3 ...)
    • You can then modify/adjust the picture and the text independently.
Note: you may need to add a track - just drag your clip into the grey area above the existing video tracks and a new track will be added; or Control-click in the grey area above the existing video tracks and then click Add Track.

  • Coloured background behind text area

    Hi all,
Does anyone know how to make a coloured background behind the text area. For example, like the yellow title "Apple biometric earpods..." in the webpage; Apple biometric Earpods just a hoax, 'simply made up' for fun - Tech2
I have lots of titles in a document that I want to apply this style to so dont want to do it by drawing lots of boxes.
I have got a bit of a work around where you use an underline, and go into underline options and make it really wide and give it a negative offset so it is in the middle of the text but this is hard to control the gap so you have to add a space to the star and end of each sentence.
    is there a better way?
    thanks,

Nope, that's how it's done. Turn on the custom underline as part of the paragraph style.

  • Blue background/white text

I agree wholeheartedly with all the complaints above about the offensively bad themes. But I would also like to see MSFT reinstate the option that used to exist in Word 2003 and earlier to change the background of the document to blue and the text to white.
When working on a long, complex document, switching to that contrast is very helpful. I complained about this a lot when Word 2010 came out (I skipped 2007), but MSFT couldn't care less. But now that they have to fix color/contrast issues anyway, why not go
all the way and make the product more comfortable to use? MSFT's stupidity and unresponsiveness is astounding.

I totally agree that we need some new themes. I just started going ahead and changing the page background color to a dark blue and the text to white when I need a little different contrast for my tired eyes... you may already do that but I thought I'd mention
    it just in case:
Maybe the next version will surprise us!

  • Dynamic background behind text?

At the present time I am creating my bible texts externally using a pleasant background, and saving as a JPEG. I superimpose this over the video. This works very well, but I would like to use a moving background at times.
The problem with the JPEG superimpose method is when I resize the text in the canvas, the background is also resized.
This question is probably located somewhere in the documentation, but so far I have not found it.

  • Blue background?

Is there a way in Pages to set a blue background on screen with white type?

    Centered / Strive for difference
Maybe a rather mute point by now.  However this is something that also has bothered me as I've enjoyed the blue background white text as well.
A workaround I've used is inverting the colors in Settings > Unversal Access to White on Black text.  Not quite White on Blue but accomplishes the same goal and prints normally.  Also easy to turn on and off.  (Not completely my idea, I just thought from the iphones ability to invert colors Mac OS should do the same and stumbled upon a similar image as below for a possible answer to some other issue with colors, but solved my poblem!!)
Another quick hint I looked up, hold: Ctrl, Option, Cmd then press 8 to quicky toggle on and off.
Refreshing to get away form all that 'normal' color sometimes. Don't you think?

  • In Aperture, how do you put a background layer behind text?

How do you put a background layer behind the text to offset the color of the pic from the text color? Right now, some pics have whites and blacks that drown out the text, making it hard to read...

I forgot: if you rather want to add a background instead of changing the color of your text:
To add a background behind a texbox,
    simply edit the layout (Click "Edit Layout", click "+") and add a Photo Box;
drag the PhotoBox behind your text field.
click "edit content" and add a picture to the background box.
You'll need to import a suitable background photo, or crop some suitable background from one of your images.

  • Text message has blue background?

Hello. Normally the text messages I send have a green background and the ones I receive have a beige background. Today, however, without warning, the ones I send have a blue background. What would have caused that?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the info. So, if I understand this carefully, whenever I send a message from my iPhone 5 which has IOS6 to someone else who has an iPhone 5 with IOS6, the message travels via Apple's network rather than via the phone network. If I send to someone who does not use IOS6 it travels as an SMS over the phone network. Is that the gist of it? Thanks.

  • Blue Background for Title Text

Seems like it would be simple, but I can't figure out how to change the basic black slug the text goes on for a title to a blue background instead of the black background.....Thanks in advance.

You can place a Color Matte, beneath your text. EFFECTS > VIDEO GENERATORS > MATTES > COLOR
You can change the color of the matte by selecting the Control Tab in the viewer.
There are many other options depending on what you are using to create your text.

  • Flash CS4 - Can I change the colors of the background or text that shows up in the Layers section?

I am stuggling here!  I am colorblind.  I need to change either the color of the background or the color of the text on the layers section on the Timeline.  I simply cannot read/see what is currently showing.  It is a very light blue background with white text and white dots for seeing, locking, or setting the outline color.  I need to either change the text color and dots to black so I can see them, or try to change the background color to a dark blue so I can read the white text.  Changing the text color would really be my preference.  How do I do this?   Please help.  Adobe hasn't been very concerned about colorblindness when developing these products.  I can barely make out all the light grey/grey/dark grey/grey stuff.  Now this!

For Windows you can adjust your Theme (or download a new one and use that). This will alter the color of each layer, for example if you use Classic then it will use a very dark blue for layers that will provide higher contrast. I've downloaded other custom themes in the past that use a very dark grey for example.
(By the way, for Mac users go to Appearance in System Prefs and choose a different Highlight color - you can choose a default or custom one. That color is used for the layer color).

  • Anchored objects behind text

Is there a way to make an anchored box sit behind text? I have a section title with section numbers. I would like to place a piece of art behind all the section numbers. The box always comes out on top. I can create a new paragraph style with autonumbering for the section into it, place it over the art, group it, and then anchor it. The only problem is, now the section numbers won't show up in the running head. Any ideas? I'm using CS3. I used to be able to do this in FrameMaker. Thanks.

Can't be done with anchored objects - sorry.
But you can convert your text to a table - and that can put a background in there.

  • Selecting Graphics Behind Text

    Hello,
I’m using Pages ’08 and working with a neat, layered, grouped graphic. There are three layers: a dark background graphic, a lighter middle graphic, and white text in a text box on top. All three use the exact same dimensions and are stacked one on top of the other for a total of three layers, grouped. None of the layers cause wrap.
I’d like to select one of the graphics to edit the color and find that I cannot do it without ungrouping the items, moving the text layer out of the way, applying the new color, putting the text layer back in place, and then regrouping everything. It seems like unnecessary steps. It seems as if I should be able to use a modifier key and do a series of clicks to activate the layer that I want, much like when I used QuarkXPress and InDesign. Is there a similar key stroke in Pages?
The user’s manual says “To select a floating object that’s behind text, place the pointer outside the text area, press the Command key, and then drag across the page until the object’s selection handles appear.” That doesn’t solve my concern, though.
I've attached a sample of what my graphic looks like. It would be great if there were key strokes to use. If not I'll have to go back to each instance of the graphic and make changes to each one.
Please let me know if you have an idea of how to make this work.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Pages does not have any modifier keys to click down through layers like other DTP software.
Unlocking and staggering the layers is the only way. There is an averaging command that does however let you centre them back on top of each other.
