Blue Cube & "?" in forwarded email images

I have searched and searched for this topic and have found no answers. In the hope that I am simply missing something key, I am posting and begging your forgiveness for duplicating this question if it has already been answered.
I receive emails that I sometimes have to forward on. Included in these emails are images and when I forward them most of the time the image in the forwarded message disappears and is replaced by this blue cube with a question mark. Why? How can I avoid/fix this?
Please help!

Let me elaborate, say I get an email wth pictures embedded in the body of the texts..then I fwd the email..the recipient will only get the texts..no pictures, just an empty blue box with a small question mark in the middle..
I tried fwding these type of emails to myself, when I open the email on my iPhone,no problems, pictures and al appears...when I open on my pc/mac..no pictures..
Hope this explains the scenario better..

  • Receiving Duplicate, Triplecate...Images in Forwarded Email

    Hi there,
For a while now, whenever a member of my family receives a forwarded email in mail.app, if there are images attached to the email, more often than not, they will be more than one copy of each picture that is included with the email. Can anybody tell me why this is?

    Hi,
In normal mode, unselect all the checkboxes for these add-ins, click OK, send test emails and check again, does the issue persist?
Another thing that is disabled in Safe Mode is NormalEmail.dotm. NormalEmail.dotm is the default template that opens when creating a new mail message. When you start Outlook in Safe Mode, it is not loaded.
Please go to the following location:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
Find the NormalEmail.dotm file, rename it to ".old". Outlook then will create a new one, check if this issue persists with the new NormalEmail.dotm file.

  • Apple mail vertical blue line to left of forwarded email?

Have an iMac Mountain Lion 10.8.2 using Apple mail. When I forward email I get a blue vertical line to the left of the forwarded mail or if I reply to an email & leave the received email in the replys string, I get a blue vertical line the length of the received mail. In subsequent strings the number of lines increases by one for each in the back of the string. I have tried cutting & pasting but can't get rid of the blue vertical line. With a message that has a number of vertical lines on the left side, I can't delete any of them to simply forward the email clean. How can I rid myself of those annoying vertical lines on the left of the message blocks! It did it on Lion & still does. see example below:

    What verticle line???
See the vertical line below - how can you get rid of them?
Never had it on my PC - must be an Apple thingy!

    Hi Paullythesolver,
I have used a combination of solutions that mostly (not 100%) work but are a laborous pain in the butt!
I checked your suggested solution and my Fonts & Colours  text box that was "ticked" was "unticked".
The Composing quote level box was already unticked - no action required there.
I will have to await another incoming "side blue lined" email to see if your suggestion worked - it does logically sound like a winner, but the proof is still in the pudding to be seen!
There has been so much traffic on this issue over the past 18 months or so with so many experiencing a similar problem. I do hope this puts the problem to rest once & for all!
    Thanks

  • Why can't I forward emails I receive with embedded images?

I have an iPad 2 and it seemed like I was able to forward emails with embedded images in the past, but now it never works. In fact, I've tried emailing directly from Photos and I have the same problem. No one gets any of my attachments or images. I've updated the operating system to the most recent version and it's made no difference.
And to make it even more frustrating, when I check my sent messages, the images are there!

Are you sure that you've set up an account that will automatically delete the messages? Is it a POP or IMAP account? I had a .mac account years ago running Entourage, but never had a problem. For some reason it seems that the server is not deleting your messages upon quit (or however Mail handles it). Maybe we'll just bump this up and see what kind of response you get from those with .me accounts running Mail.
What version of Office do you have? I'm pretty sure that 2004 was a PPC suite and won't run on your new MBP. If you had 2008 on your PB, then you should just have to re-enter your activation key.
    Good luck,

Some email images do not show while using the icloud web app.  I can see the images on my IOS devices and in gmail but I only see a small gray box in the icloud web mail app.  Load HTML images is checked in preferences.  Is there a solution to this issue?

I've seen the opposite issue.  My wife recieved an email with jpg attachments.  She couldn't see or print them on her iPhone 4S but they showed up fine in iCloud or in the mail app.  I had her forward the email to herself and then they showed up.  I assume there is an issue with how Apple is processing the attachments and resending causes them to get reformatted in a way that makes them easier to handle.
So yeah.  Seems like some bugs.  Hope Apple fixes them soon.

  • "Gear" Icon with message "Stop email image" what is this?

I have am running a mac 10.6.3 - 2.4ghz. Recently in the top menu bar an icon which looks like a spinning gear has popped up. When I click on it the message says "stop 'email image'". I have clicked on the icon and selected stop, but nothing happens. What is this icon and what exactly is it doing? Thanks.

Purple icons represent a Smart Playlist and blue icons a normal one.
It has nothing to do with contents being available at the iTMS.
Are you sure the blue icon has a flower in it and not a musical note?
Burning a playlist on an CD-RW and playing it will work fine on your computer, but many Audio players and especially car CD-players don't like CD-RWs at all.
You can give it a try, but chances are it doesn't work.
To erase the CD-RW, you indeed have to use Disk Utility.
When you check the 'Quick Erase' checkbox, the entire disc will be zero-ed first. A 'full' erase can take a long time (about 20 minutes!! on my system).
Using a CD-R to burn your playlist however, will have a much higher chance of successful playback in your car CD-player.
The message about the gift etc. appears when you click on the small arrow next to the playlist's name. I can't remember having it show up on burning, but I might have ticked a 'don't show again' checkbox at first appearance.
    Hope this helps.

  • Rule-Based Forwarded Email

I am reviewing the contents of the Message Tracking logs from an Exchange 2010 server. How can I identify those emails that were forwarded using some form of rule-based forwarding? Does the exchange server record rule-based forwarded emails in the Message
    Tracking logs?
I would normally perform a test to find the answer, unfortunately I do not have access to an Exchange 2010 server.
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You didn't say you were running the Exchange server on a Domain Controller (not a configuration that's recommended). Since this is an Exchange forum I took what you said to mean that you had only an image of the Exchange server.
If you have the AD then you'll find the alternateRecipient property on the accounts that had it populated at the time your image was made, along with the transport rules (which would be easier to deal with using Powershell).

When I select to have my email forwarded and put in the email address in icloud preferences online, the email keeps coming into my icloud acct. Any idea why? I have tried forwarding to one of serveral email accts I own just to see if it was a problem with the email acct I was forwarding to, but thats not the case. It won't forward either of my three other email addresses.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I want to forward all of my email for my main FIOS account, and for two sub accounts to a different email service. Each one would go to a different email address at the new domain. Others would remain unchanged.
I found an option to forward email under my main account, but none for the sub accounts.
If I change the main account, will all emails to the sub account be forwarded to the designated email account to?
If not, how can I do this - what are the steps that I need to take?
    Hello,
To forward emails as a sub account:
Go to www.verizon.com and login with the sub-account's Verizon credentials.
Once you're in 'My Verizon', navigate to 'Profile' about 5 sections down from the default 'Home' section over by the left nagivational menus in blue.
Go to 'Account Settings' on the main center pane and click on the grey 'Manage' button.
    Click the 'Email Settings' button.
Right below the 'Verizon Email Address' displaying the sub-account's email, click on the Settings > link.
    Click the 'Email Forwarding' button.
Check the box marked 'Forward my emails to:'.
Enter the email address where the sub-account's email should be forwarded to, and confirm that forwarding email address once more.
Click on the red 'Save' button.
Once this is done, the email forwarding should work and would only forward emails specifically for that sub-account and will not impact emails sent to other sub-accounts or to the main account. (You can test this as well).
Follow this same process to forward emails for the 'main account'.
    Hope this helps!

  • Cannot forward email from iPhone 4

    My wife cannot forward email.
I looked at my iPhone 4s and it has a bar at bottom. Hers doesn't.
She hates upgrades and I suffer for it. But I am in the trenches and I am still a believer in the product. Can I sit down now?
Oh yeah, the question: Why doesn't her iPhone 4 have a bar at bottom of her screen for the "garbage" and the "forwarding arrow" and whatever else is supposed to be there. The whole bar is gone. I will do a hard reset and hopefully that fixes it. I'm starting to get weary... send food and water until we can get the iPHone 5. I also set up a donation website for the expense, since we aren't eligible until end of next June for her only...

thank you!!! My wife says thank you!
I thought I was a power user and now I bow down!
    lol
Thanks - My faith in the almighty Apple has been reignited.

  • Exchange 2003 Permissions Error when attempting to forward emails

Server 2003 R2 (fully patched as of 11/2013) running Exchange 2003 SP2 (Built 7638.x2) on ESXi 4.1; WinXP clients and Server 2003 Terminal Servers running Outlook 2003; Domain and Forest are running at 2008 Functional Levels.
Occasionally, some users are receiving this error message: "You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.  See the folder contact or your system administrator" intermittently when attempting
to 1) forward email both to and from senders/recipients inside and outside the domain, 2) When attempting to modify the subject of a previously received email (I didn't know you could do that), 3) When attempting to open received attachments.
There is no discernible pattern to the users or the original senders of the emails.
Most of the results I've found when searching relate to NTFS permissions or a ReadOnly propery on items in the users's profile folder, or sending on behalf of another user - these either do not apply or have been verified as not the cause.
During the initial rash of problems when there was a problem with an attachment and we absolutely needed it, I was able to connect to OWA using a special administrative account with access to the mailbox, open the attachment and log out.  Once I had
done so with this account, the end user was able to open the attachment on their own without a warning.
Changes made to the environment prior to this issue that may be related (nobody remembers when exactly this started, so I can't state that it definitively happened after this change):
All servers were virtualized on ESXi 4.1 in late 2011; subsequently converted and migrated to Hyper-V Server 2012 in early 2013 (with the exception of the Exchange and SQL servers).
All 2003/R2 domain controllers demoted and removed; DFL/FFL raised to 2008; SYSVOL replication was migrated from FRS to DFS-R.
    Troubleshooting steps:
Exchange server and affected client computers have been restarted several times; the various exchange services have been restarted; permissions on the mailboxes and AD objects have been verified; event logs are generally clean with the exception of ActiveSync
errors for a single user not currently affected by forwarding emails, there are no other errors reported.
Per recommendations on another forum, I had enabled several diagnostic logs in the diagnostic logging tab of the server.  Unfortunately not much was found in the Application log even after filtering out the basics.  There were occasional errors
referencing User A failed to modify an item in User B's mailbox because access was denied; however, I was unable to correlate these errors to any reported incidence of the above message.
I created a new mailbox database on the same server and migrated all the mailboxes to the new database, there was no change; users immediately began seeing these errors.
Over a holiday weekend, I then spun up a new Win 2003 R2 server, with a fresh installation of Server 2003 R2 (also fully patched through 11/2013) running the same version of Exchange 2003 SP2 this time running as a virtual guest on Hyper-V Server 2012.
I migrated all mailboxes from the original mail server to the new mail server and it appeared that the problem was remedied; however, it has slowly started up again and is starting to become more frequent.
I'm really at my wits end with this problem and would like to get it resolved before we purchase and install our new Exchange Server later this year.

    Updates
Users have reported that they can forward the email from OWA; even after doing so, they are unable to forward from Outlook.  So either my previous notes on the issue were wrong, or this is just more of the "intermittent" nature of the problem.
I will have to investigate what logging options are available to me at the Outlook client level - any thoughts on that subject are also welcome.
Users have now reported that a previous (rarely used) workaround (the administrative account opening the email in OWA) no longer enables them to view attachments or forward emails in Outlook.
I'm still adjusting the various diagnostic logging settings to see if I can spot an event which corresponds to a reported occurrence.  The most unusual warning reported is the following:
    Source:MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store
    Category: Access Control
    Event ID: 1029
[email protected] failed an operation because the user did not have the following access rights:
'Delete' 'Read Property' 'Write Property' 'Create Message' 'View Item' 'Create Subfolder' 'Write Security Descriptor' 'Write Owner' 'Read Security Descriptor' 'Contact'
The distinguished name of the owning mailbox is /O=DOMAIN/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=USER_B. The folder ID is in the data section of this event.
However odd these occasional warnings are, they do not appears to correlate to the reported permissions issue.  Everytime I've seen one of these events, I've inquired with "user_A" to see if they've recently seen the popup and in each case they have
    not.

  • How do I forward eMail from my Mac to iCloud and my iPad

Been using a Mac for many years, but earlier today I activated my first iOS device, an iPad. Am running OS X 10.8.2 and I have an iCloud account. I have multiple eMail accounts on my Mac. How do I get my Mac to automatically forward eMail to iCloud so that it's available for my iPad to receive it?
    With kind regards,

The way I have it set up is > Setup the email accounts on your iPad as you have them setup on you Mac, that way they will be delivered to both. On my iMac I have it set to remove emails from server but on the iPad I do not. I reciev all of my emails on both, but if I delete any from my iMac they are removed from my iPad automaticlly. (that way I do not have so much trouble when I get a lot of emails nneded to be deleted from my iPad.

  • Forward Email for one account to another domain?

I apologize if this is a repeat question, but I am still having problems setting this up.  Snow Lep used to have the ability to forward email for a user to another location.  I host my own domain with multiple users.  I want all mail sent to one of those users, in my domain, to go to another email address outside my dowmain.  Basiclly to do whatever process they "Forward mail" option in old Workgroup Manger, for a user.
I looked into the "Virtual Domain" stuff for postfix, and forwarding there, but from what I can understand, thats for Virtual Domains, not for ones that  your actually hosting.  i.e. Can't have domain.com in Mydestinations AND Virtual file.
So how do I acomplish this?
    Thanks in advance.

I was very happy to hear that Mail in iOS 4 would allow me to move individual email messages from one account to another, indeed from one folder in one account to another folder in another account. Of course, this has been trivially easy in OS X's Mail.app for ages.
I'm very disappointed to find that there's a gigantic gotcha -- I cannot for the life of me move an email received in (say) my Gmail account, or my me.com account, into any folder in my work Exchange (2003) account. I get the same message: "Unable to move message. The message could not be moved into the mailbox [foo]."
Is this in fact generally the case? If so, it should be owned up to.
With two Exchange accounts, Gmail and a private business account, I can't move messages from either account to the other. I'd love to know if there's a fix.

  • I can no longer select multiple addresses from my Mail address book when forwarding emails

Since updating to Mavericks I cannot select multiple addresses from my address book when forwarding emails.
I can select them individually using the + sign in the address bar but cannot select any when I open my Contact list as I have done with previous systems.
Additionly, the full address appears in the "To" window instead of just the name and without the email address. I have selected "Smart Address" from the Preferences menu, View section.
    Help!

Why are you using a Hotmail or Live Mail SMTP server to send email with your Gmail account?
This is likely the cause of the problem. Use Gmail's authenticated SMTP server to send email with your Gmail account.

  • Forward email to a specific address to an Exchange mailbox

I would like to know if it is possible to forward email to a specific address (for an Identity that doesn't exist) to a user's mailbox.
Example: when our employees are terminated we delete their active directory accounts and email mailbox.  I'd like to be able to still forward any email to their old email address to their supervisor.
Alternately I could set up the terminated employee as a mail contact: could I then set up the forwarding rule?
