Blue font in document need to print black

Hello, need to print an Adobe Reader 8.1.2 where the font is in blue. When I print the blue text is way too light and I can't read it. How to either change the font to black in the document or print the blue font in black?
TIA

  • How do I bypass printing in color when I only need to print black only?

I have an Officejet Pro L7680 running under XP OS.  Is there a way to bypass the color feature on the printer so I can print in black only? When ever one of the color cartridges is out of ink I have no printer functions available. Can't print in black only, can't scan or fax. basically the printer is of no use at all if one of the cartridges is empty. From experience with other brand printers, there should be a way to bypass the color feature on the printer so I can at least print documents in black only.  HP refuses to help me unless I pay for a service subscription. I refuse to pay for the reasons ever since I purchased these HP products and I have many I have nothing but problems with them all and HP seems to be on no help since day one when I purchased these products. I need to print these documents asap and being a holiday there is no where to  purchase a cartridge today. Has anyone experienced this problem and have any solutions other than purchasing a printer from a different company

    dohr1,
This is done in the properties window for the printer.  There are a few ways to get there.
If you want to get there from the program you are using with Windows click File > Print > select the printer > Properties (may be Preferences, depends on the software being used) > Advanced > click the Print in Grayscale drop down menu and select Black Ink Only then click ok.
The online manual might help also.

  • Only scanned document (jpeg) can print black color

    Hello everyone,
I have a weird problem with my printer. Black ink is not printing properly. Whenever I print  any .doc or text files, a blurry page comes out..and sometimes, i got nothing but an empty page. What makes it weird is, I can print any scanned doc saved as jpeg with no problem. Black color gets printed with photos.
I already used the maintenance tools like cleaning and aligning the ink cartridge but to no avail. The ink level is also full.
    Any idea what's happening?

OK, I checked the versions of the different machines running IE and they are all 5.00.2614.3500. Also, for the time being, my policy file consists of:
    grant {
            // Allow everything for now
            permission java.security.AllPermission;
};What other security issues to I need to investigate? Thanks so much for your responses!

  • Png within my document when converted to a pdf are printing black and white rest is color-help! WHY?

I am creating a document in Publisher & converting to a pdf. Most of my png elements within the document, are then printing black and white from the pdf (everything else is in color)? Don't know what is going on, doesn't seem to happen on all printers, is there a setting I am missing? Help! Thanks

Could be a setting in the PNGs when they are saved.
Have you tried saving them as GIFs and replacing them in the document(s)?

  • Don't know if this went through the first time. Cannon printer would not print black. bought a new Epson-800. Same problem. Can it be something in my Mac causing the problem. It's only the black that is not working.

  • Photosmart 5510 won't print black

Hi there, my Photosmart 5510 stopped printing black. I have been reading the forums for several days now and have tried a bunch of things but am still at a loss so any help would be greatly appreciated. This is super frustrating!!!!
Here is what I've tried so far:
-everything in the HP document about not printing black (bought new cartridges, used a pin to check cartridge vents, etc)
-actually taken out the black cartridge and wiped the ink off the printhead as demonstrated in a YouTube video I found
-printed many test pages (no black)
    - used the "clean printhead" function on the printer a few times
The only thing that has sort of helped was when I tried the reset (the one where you unplug the power cord while printer is on, then unplug from outlet, wait 15 seconds and then plug back in). When I did this the first time the black text printed out a faint purple (reminded me of the purple ink from back in the 80s when you used a copying machine) instead of blank so at least there was actually something. I tried the reset again and the black actually printed! When I tried to print again it went back to the faint purple. Eventually that stopped and I did the reset again to at least be able to print out the purple. I have not been able to get the black ink to print again though. I do have to keep doing that reset frequently to even be able to get the words to print in the rain purple instead of black however.
Thanks for any help you can offer!

Yes, this is called composite black, so it uses the colors to create the black pigment: 'printer will mix color ink to print the black portions, even for text.  While this may work in a pinch it is not really a solution as it will cost more to print with the color ink, it will take several times longer to print and the quality for text will not be as good'. -Source If you are still not able to print in black ink, please leave me with your Country/Region, I will watch for your reply. Thanks,

  • When printing from Illustrator the document prints Black instead of Blue

Computer is Windows 7 x64 running adobe CS6.  The printer is a HP laserjet 3800dn the driver for the printer is PCL5 but it does the same thing printing with the Postscript driver.  We have a navy blue color that prints out black for some reason. In the print options right before releasing the job we changed the use Illustrator colors to use Post script colors and it still does the same thing....Prints black where blue is supposed to go on the document.  Doesn't matter if it is a .jpeg or plain text.  Sending the job to a different printer works which is a Xerox workcentre.

Well, I thought perhaps I skipped over where you said yellow printed but blue didn't...all I see is blue prints as black. And from your screen shot, it was that grayscale checkbox I was thinking of might have been set.
Do you have another of these HP printers available? If so, does it print correctly?
Have you made sure there isn't a corrupt driver and or updated drivers on your system? Can another computer print to this printer correctly?
Seems that if the Xerox prints it fine, then it isn't Illy.

  • Apple applications printing -- black fonts are now blue in lion

as of Lion, both my laptop and my desktop macpro exhibit this behavior. All Apple created applications now print black text as blue. Other apps such as adobe reader do not. also things printed from Google Chrome work fine, as long as  you don't allow CHrome to use the Apple system printer controller utility.
    anybody else have this problem?

Yes, must have accidentally hit Apple+F5 and turned on the Voice Over options. With my speakers turned off, I hadn't noticed the Voice Over function in action.
Thanks, it was driving me insane!

  • How do I change the font size of a document when I PRINT?

How to I change the font size of a document when I print it?

To specifically and fully answer your question, no, you absolutely cannot change the “font size” as a function of print.
First of all, there isn't a single “font size” associated with a PDF file (and we assume you are referring to a PDF file since this is an Acrobat forum).
Secondly, PDF is a final form file format meaning that the content is static in terms of location, size, etc. on the page. To change the point size of any particular text, you really need to go back to the source document and make the changes there.

  • InDesign CC no longer packages fonts when I need to send a project to the printer

Hey Adobe team: Long-time user from when Photoshop was but a sprout. I recently upgraded from Creative Suite 6 to Creative Cloud and have run into a troubling problem. InDesign CC no longer packages fonts when I need to send a project to the printer. This meant that I had to completely redo a project on deadline for a problem that I’ve never had before. How is this possibly helping your users? And is there a solution in the works or do I need to cancel Creative Cloud and go back to CS6?

    @OurPlace
First of all, you are not addressing any Adobe team. These forums are primarily supported by volunteers who are not Adobe employees and don't officially represent Adobe Technical Support.
    That having been said ...
There was nothing done specifically with InDesign 9 or 10 (the CC and CC 2014) versions of InDesign to change or disable packaging of fonts when packaging a document. It should be absolutely no different from InDesign 8 (the CS6 version).
    Troubleshooting hints:
    (1)     Make sure you check the Copy Fonts (Except CJK and TypeKit) option in the package dialog.
    (2)     Make sure that you are not using any CJK (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) complex fonts that we specifically will never put into a package.
    (3)     TypeKit fonts won't package.
    (4)     Make sure that your file system permissions are such that InDesign can create all the necessary directories and subdirectories for the packaging operation.
    (5)     If on MacOS, exit InDesign and try forcing a clearing of your system font cache and then reboot.
    (6)     Exit InDesign and then find and delete all files on your system with filenames of the form AdobeFnt##.lst where ## is a two digit number; don't delete any other files that start with AdobeFnt. Then reboot and restart InDesign.
    (7)     Reset InDesign's preferences that may have become corrupted. For Windows, start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files. For MacOS, while pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
One of these should either address or resolve your problem. Again, we at Adobe are not aware of any generic issue with packing fonts with InDesign.

  • When printing from Illustrator it prints Black instead of Blue

We have had this issue for a while now and cannot grasp it.  We have CS6 and Illustrator decides to print whatever it feels like.  Printing to a regular PCL driver prints black ink where blue is supposed to go.  We also tried changing the print driver to Post Script with the same black ink printing instead of blue.  Also in the print options right before releasing the job we changed the use Illustrator colors to use Post script colors and it still does the same thing.  We sent the job to a different printer and it prints out alright.  Why doesn't it work on our HP Laserjet 3800dn?  All other documents not created in Adobe products will print out blue just fine.  I want to know what is broken in Adobe Illustrator.

Ask in teh AI forum and provide more details like system specs, exact print settings, color management and so on.

  • PDF document not full page but need to print it as a full page

    Hi,
I have a pdf document which is 15 cm by 8 cm and need to print it as a full page without the white border making up the full page. How can I do this?
The document was created in publisher and saved as a pdf.
I am reading the document from Adobe Reader on a Windows XP machine.
Thank you for any help any one can give.

Do you have a printer that can print pages without a white border?
Very few printers can do this.

  • [HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni] Stopped printing black ink documents when Magenta toner finished

    Hi there,
    I have a HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni.
I just printed about 200 pages of black ink documentation.  The black ink cartridge is still about 38% full.
Although none of these printouts involved colour, the printer started flashing the message: "Replace magenta cartridge".
Since then, it would no longer print.  Again, I am only attempting to print black ink docs, and I even tried turning off the colour print option to no avail.
The printer queue on my macbook shows the doc as 'printing' and 'sending', and then it disappears, with nothing happening on the printer itself.
If I push the 'X' button on the printer, it says 'cancelling print' or something like that.
Is there any way around the problem of the printer not printing anything once one of its cartridges runs to empty, even though the printjob does not need that colour cartridge?
    Thank you!
    Steve

How can I find the Toolbox FX on Windows 7 Professional? I can only find information about Windows XP and Windows Vista. When I  go to my Start button, and go to All Programs , there is no HP option or folder;therefore,I can't find the Toolbox FX.
My printer ran out of magenta toner, but all I want to do is print in black ink (which I have plenty of).
    Can anyone please help me?

  • HP Office jet 6600 Need to print in black ink only

One of the color cartridges is empty and the printer won't print in Black in only which is a full cartridge.  I turned Gray scale on and enabled print black ink only but it still won't print.  Is there anything else I can do?
    thanks,

Hello GilbertSimi, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I understand you are looking to print without full colour cartridges installed. Due to the ink system design, this model of printer requires the colour ink to be installed to print. Using it without colour ink could cause damage to the ink system.
If you have any questions about ink you can check out this document on Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers, and this document on How HP measures inkjet page yields.
