"Blue-Grey" on video render bar..Why??

After I rendered my project I have noticed that there is a blue-grey color on my video render bar. If I put my cursor on the render bar it says that my video is rendered. Then why is it not just Grey?? When I play back my project the parts that have the blue-grey render bar are very unstable and digitized. Why is the project not rendering, and what does the blue-grey render bar mean??
any help or soulutions would be great

1) Because gray means a video clip that does not require rendering
2) Set RT for the Timeline to Safe, the Quality to High and the Frame Rate to Full. Does it still play back unstable on an NTSC video monitor?

    hello all...
i believe i have all my sequence settings correct..but everytime i drop a clip into the timeline i get the video:preview (green render bar)...why do i get this???
all the video footage is on a g-raid 1000 gig (all filled up)..is that the problem...?

The sequence settings might be correct for what you want to do but your clip settings are not matched to your sequence setting. Precisely. If they were, you would not get a green render bar. There would be NO render bar until you started adding effects.

  • Orange render bar on native DV or DVCPRO HD footage in matching timelines

Okay, I've searching and calling people to figure this one out. I've captured DV footage, removed the pulldowns correctly to make it 24p, and I've used easy setup and checked my timeline settings. All correct and matching. So, why are the raw clips dropped onto the timeline presenting me with an orange render bar. This is happening with DVCPRO HD footage too. I don't remember this being an issue until updating to 5.1.3. I upgraded, so I have to downgrade to test my theory.
I have 5.0.4 still installed, so I tried it. Used XML to reopen project in 5.0.4, I have no such problems, no orange render line. What's the deal? Is 5.1.3-5.1.4 have to use core video or something that my graphic card in my old G4 tower can't handle?
Please somebody tell me this is happening to them too. It doesn't occur on my MacBook Pro, just my tower.
    PPC G4 1.4Ghz, 1.5Gig RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Sorry, I didn't mention all that I tried. I did dump the prefs, still no use. I'm trying to find 5.1.2 right now, see if it did it. I don't remember an issue under 5.1.1 either.
This is very frustrating because it's supposed to be running natively on the media that FCP runs natively. Even the old versions work better at this. Not a problem if you're on an Intel box with the new stuff. Seems like it's purposely crippled.

  • Yellow render bar

    Hi all...
I received a miniDV tape that I need to edit in FCP. I imported it w/ NTSC settings and it said that the audio at a different setting than my setup (probably recorded at 12 bit instead of 16 bit...I don't know since I didn't shoot it), and that it might result in some shifting or the likes. Fine, I can deal with that later. So I click "continue" and it appears in the timeline. But there's a yellow render bar on the VIDEO line (just above the timeline), not the audio line. I check the setttings in the browser and they're the same as the sequence:
720x480, 29.97, DV/DVCPRO-NTSC compressor, 48 kHz, and it says 16-bit audio for my clip.
My question is, why is it telling me I need to render out video? When I play the clip, it gives me the dropped frames warning.
Thanks in advance. I'm sure there's an obvious answer I'm not seeing.
    Jonathan

    Thanks for the reply, David.
My RT is set to Unlimited, High and Full. I usually keep it set there unless I have some heavy effects that justify the need to render and it hasn't given me a problem yet. I also tried capturing another piece of vid (that I shot) and there's no yellow. Which makes me think it's the video (the one that I didn't shoot), not the program. I guess I'm still confused as to why the yellow then if the sequence and clip settings are the same. Am I missing something? Or will we never know unless we find out how it was shot?
Thanks for putting up with this!

  • How do I get rid of the blue "downloading the latest applications" bar which won't go away even after uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox?

Can't get rid of the blue "downloading the latest applications" bar that seems to be just hanging and won't go away. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the bar is still there after 2 days. I updated something (can't remember what!) on I.E., and it had the same blue bar, but it had a box I could x out of so it went away on I.E. I don't know why the blue bar is there on Firefox, as I did the update while on I.E.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I updated an application while on Internet Explorer.

    Annette,
#In the menu bar, at the top of the Firefox window, Go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions.
    # Locate ''each ''of the following extensions by name and click the disable button
#Restart Firefox as prompted and see if the undesired toolbar has been removed.
#The extensions to disable are: '''Crawler Toolbar''', '''MP3 Rocket Toolbar''', '''MSN Toolbar''', '''Search Helper Extension'''
If you don't need some / all of those toolbars, consider leaving them disabled.
You can probably remove these toolbars permanently from Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

  • Riddle me this-. Orange Render bar for some clips

I hope my system isn't getting tired and old but I have never had a project where all the clips needs to be rendered. No effects applied or anything. I converted these clips to Apple Pro Res(LT) and I still need to render. When I convert my RED footage, it works fine. But not the MVI files. See picture on this link. The files have same codec, one needs to render but the other doesn't!
    http://www.redmoonlight.com/PictsOnWeb/OrangeRender.png
Thanks for you time or any solution you can give.
Things I did: Trash prefs, restart, video scope closed

    The orange render bar-
"Indicates effects that exceed your computer’s real-time playback capabilities but are enabled anyway because Unlimited RT is selected in the RT pop-up menu in the Timeline. Unlimited real-time playback lets you play more effects but increases the chances that your sequence will drop frames during playback. This mode is useful for getting a real-time preview of complex effects compositions." - form the manual.
I interpet that it mean it will playback withourt requiring rendering until you apply an effect.
One of your clips is set to "maximum" quality with a higher bitirate than the one set to "Normal" quality. Not sure if that is causeing it.

  • Yellow render bar in Premiere Pro CS6

    hey there,
    quick specs:
HP Z820, 64GB RAM, NVidia quadro 6000 (alongside with a BlackMagic 3D extreme for monitoring), ext. SAS-RAID,  Windows 7 64bit, Adobe PP CS6.
the issue is quite simple from the outside:
any codec i slam into a new sequence gives me yellow (render) bars.
doesn't matter if i customize the sequence or right click "new sequence from clip" (which i assume fits my sequence settings to my clip settings)
the only codec that doesn't give me yellow bars is mpeg2. (really..?!)
to check i turned the CUDA engine OFF - red bars immidiately.
and even with yellow bars (which PP should be able to play back at least i get the choppiest playback sometimes)..
but as you see it shouldn't be a hardware problem - so what am i doing wrong or didn't i get the idea of creating sequences?
    any suggestion appreciated.

If the codec you use is not supported in a preset, you get the yellow bar. So what? If it plays fine, then there is nothing to worry about. With AVCHD 1080p/50 and 5.1 AC3 sound you get a yellow bar, so what? It plays fine.
    hey harm,
"so what?" is not really a term that i often use. when i encounter a problem, i try to fix it or at least push as far as i can push to get the optimum under the given circumstances. "works anyway" doesn't really cut it for me.
i want to understand why there's the need to render despite the fact
    - that all my hardware and software is supposed to eliminate exactly this
    - that other companies solved this problem years ago
    - that adobe promotes a product that should do the job, but obviously doesn't
and it actually does not playback fine. sometimes (=usually) the playback is choppy, sometimes the playhead jumps back to start without any reason and a few other problems i came across.
i understand that adobe PP is not in the game as long as AVID is for example, but they claim to have a professional product (at least the name suggests it but as far as i am concerned if you really put PP to the test it tends to bend and sometimes to break.
as much as i love dynamic link (main purchase reason) - i just can not run sensitive projects on it. or, before i do i need to understand why these things happen.
you totally don't have to but i hope you understand my position.

  • Getting red render bar when editing HD multiclips

I'm editing a multiclip music video in Final Cut Pro 6.0.3. The sequence setting matches the size and frame rate of the footage, which is 1920 x 1080, 23.98 fps, using Apple ProRes 422 (HQ).
I have my multiclips all synched and when I put them in to the canvas to begin editing, I get the dreaded red render bar. I have never had this issue before when editing in SD. When I have "Unlimited RealTime" checked I get the yellow/orange bar.
Any advice on how to make this easier and flow faster?? My computer keeps crashing.
and I'm running MacOSX 10.5.2 on a Dual 2.5 GHz G5 with 1.5 GB DDR SDRAM.
    Thanks in advance!

2 or 2.5 gigs of ram would help (IIRC, 2.5 is all FCP will utilitze).
We just had a thread about this issue on an iMac. You might want to review it...
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9091740#9091740
Where is your media stored and how many streams in your multiclip. How is the media connected...FW400/800/eSata/RAID (internal/external)?
Increased ram may help, but I'm inclined to think you could be maxing out your drive throughput.

  • I have no render bar?

    Hey everyone!
So I'm having quite a bad problem with Premiere Pro CS5. Sometimes when I preview the video for a project in progress, it lags a fair bit. I usually fix this by rendering the work area. But for this particular project, it won't do anything. When I tell it to render work area, it just plays the video. Also, I don't have a red, yellow or green render bar. It's just gray, as if it isn't there. What could be causing this? Can anyone help me? :c
    Thanks for reading my post!

I fixed it. The problem was the frames per second in the source video. For some reason, there would be no render bar for videos with 30 frames per second. I converted the videos to 25 frames per second and the render bar came back. Changing the sequence settings to 25 frames per second also fixed the problem. Thanks for the help anyway!

  • Question on render bar color

I can't find this in the manual. What is the faded green-grey color signify in the render bar?
    thanks, td

If you have Final Cut Pro 6, page III-645 explains the whole deal about the *render status bar* .
If you are running an earlier version, simply drop that term in search field and you'll find the relevant section.
    Good luck,

  • Video render -50

I'm getting video render error -50 when exporting from iMovie 11? Any idea why?

So it looks like this problem was some kind of Project corruption. Clips exprorted fine. Deleted Project and created New. Now all works.

  • Grey Vertical Semi-transparent Bar appeared on the UN55D7000

    Hi,
I just bought a UN55D7000, but when I powered it on. A grey vertical semi-transparent bar appeared just on the left of the central of the screen. It's about 5 inches wide, and from top to bottom of the screen. And it appears in all video source input, whatever it's TV, Blueray, or internet.
Does this mean the defective of the TV or just need further settings on TV?
    Regards
    Edward

I purchased a Samsung UN46D6900 and after 2 weeks I had the exact same problem.   After a day, the picture went out entirely.   By the way - this was a REPLACEMENT for the exact same model that the picture went out on after 1 week of use.    I am now on my "last chance" 3rd model and I will probably be returning it (what are that odds that this one will last any better?).    BTW:  Best Buy lies - they told me they have had NO OTHER RETURNS on these tvs, and they were "shocked" that I was having trouble.     After reading these forums it is obvious that this is not the case.
Samsung tech support they would send a tech out to repair the tv but what is the point of that, if it is within the 30 day period,  I am not going to mess with that.   I will just return it.
After this, I am going with LG or Sony..... I hope they are better.

  • Colorista II showing red render bar in PP CC 2014

I am working a lot with the plugin Colorista II from Red Giant Software. I am using the latest version of PP CC, Nvidia and the plugin. Graphic card is GTX 970.
Everytime I am tweaking with the plugin the render bar turn red. That means no GPU acceleration? From my system or generally the plugin?

hmm shame, that's a mislead in my opinion then. Color correction shall always work that way.
    Thanks for reply.

  • Video Control Bar in Flash Displays on HD but Not From Webserver

I am using Flash Pro 8 - putting FLV files in SWF files using
Flash Pro 8 and then "publishing" to Html and SWF to a location on
    my hard drive.
When I display the webpage from my Hard Drive from where ever
on my hard drive I initially published to from Flash 8 Pro -
everything works fine - videos play and video control bar shows and
    works.
When I publish this website to web server the video displays
and plays but NO Video Controller Bar (at bottom of the video)
    shows at all.
Symptom: when I make an Html, SWF and FLA file into a folder
on my hard drive and display them in the browser the video control
bar shows. When I copy those three files into the hard drive
website in FrontPage, the video shows but the video control bar
    does not.
So, I re-made the Html, SWF, and FLA files and put them
directly into the FrontPage website (on my hard drive) then
everything works fine when I use broswer (IE 6 or Firefox). z
But, when I publish the hard drive website to the remote
website hosting company, the video control bar disappears -
everything else works fine (video shows OK just no video controller
    bar.)
My guess is that the SWF file has a non-relative URL
reference concerning the video control bar and when the three files
(Html, SWF and FLA) are moved to new location then that
    non-relative address rears its head.
I should NOT publish from Flash 8 Pro directly to remote
webserver as it has FrontPage Extensions and does not like to talk
to FTP changes to website not coming from FrontPage client.
is my guess right? What to do?????
