Blue hue in screen (no red channel)

I recently aquited a Powerbook G3 500(pismo). The screen has a blue tint in it, as if te red channel is not working. Yesterday I restarted the machine and there was some red showing, but not at very good quality.
I am guessing it is the video card.

The pinkish/reddish color is usually caused by a failing fluorescent backlight. But also in the equation is the inverter that powers the backlight and I believe it will just cause a dim display. However, if the display is new, then the inverter may be the problem.
The inverter converts low-voltage DC to high-voltage AC to power the fluorescent backlight. These inverters are inexpensive and easy to replace. If your previous display appeared to have normal brightness, then the backlight is probably at fault.
It sounds as though you bought a used display. This problem usually begins to manifest itself with a pinkish/reddish cast in the lower left corner of the LCD and which disappears as the display warms up. However, over time it will progressively get worse and you will eventually end up with a display that remains totally pink and quite unattractive.
If interested, this is how you replace the inverter:
You should be able to lift out the clutch cover after removing the keyboard and heat shield. Here is a picture of the inverter:

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Flash CC Color Picker defaults to Red Channel every time opened

I recently upgraded to Flash CC, and am having an issue when opening the Color Picker to adjust a palette color.
When the Color Picker opens, the Hue radio button is selected (H), but the visual palette selection on the left is showing the color spectrum as if the Red Channel (R) was selected. I have to click on the "H" radio button every time the Color Picker is opened to refresh that selectable area on the left to show the correct information instead of the Red spectrum.
In previous versions (ie Flash Pro CS5) it would remember which palette system you use (Hue, Saturation, etc.) and always use that when you re-opened the color picker. Now this is forcing me to reselect my preferred palette every time I open the color picker. This is not just happening when I restart Flash -- this is every single time the picker is opened, within the same session, within the same document, seconds apart.
All of the computers in the office with CC licenses are also seeing this behavior. Is this happening for everyone, and is there a solution to have it correctly show the palette system I've selected?
I'm using Flash CC on Windows 8.1.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.

My LCD Display is showing a blue hue for a short time after plugging in.

I'm finding with the display that when I plug in my laptop, after a few seconds a blue hue comes over the screen. I've tried switching to the better performance graphics card on the MacBook Pro and get the same problem. The first few seconds the color is correct.
Can anyone help?

Thanks, this is what I did:
1. In system preferences go to 'Displays'
2. Go to the color tab and click on 'Calibrate...'
3. Check the tick box for 'expert mode'
4. Continue through to Target White Point
5. Change from 6507k to 6024k.

Red channel quirk

The backstory is that I had a power supply problem to a MBP as I was working on images in Aperture with an external hard drive. Apparently, the power supply to the external hard drive caused an import problem with some images; Aperture crashed; etc. I received new power supplies, did all three levels of repair (Command Option and launch Aperture), removed the dodgy import images and re-imported the files.
The problem is that now these images 'drop' the red channel when in full screen mode and then that reprocesses the preview without the red channel as well. The image info is there; you can see it in the curves, adjust the curves by the usual methods, etc., but the images display without red. It is really peculiar and must be a problem with Aperture 3 reading and processing the channel for display. I did a test printout into a PDF file and the problem shows up in the output as well.

Problem solved...sort of.
When I imported these images, the adjustment window claims that the shots were imported with an older version of the RAW decoder. That's wrong; these are fresh images newly imported into Aperture 3. Anyway, for a few images, I did an individual 'reprocess' command in the adjustment window. Usually, that did not seem to do anything and the warning remained.
Just this afternoon, I updated to A3.0.1 and the Pro kit and re-started Aperture. The warning was there, however I did a reprocess Raw command on the selected images and that got me back to 'normal'. Very, very odd.

Screen goes red

Hi
The screen goes red in preview and after the movie is
published. It only seems to happen on slides that contain animation
/ movie clips.

The changes are usually a "season to taste", or "trial
and error" thing when changing frame rate or display time. There
may be a more scientific method, but someone else will have to step

New ipad blue hue (ipad 3)

Has anyone noticed on the New ipad screen blue hue around the edges especially when there is a white background? If you look closely you can see A light blue color especially on the top and the bottom of the screen against a white background ? is this normal?

You cannot tell for sure. Nobody can.
If your judgment is based on stats, then I guess you will find out that there're not so many users out there posting on a forum complaining about such a "defect", simply because either they've already asked for a replacement or they're happy with their device in first place. This is not a "huge" defect like dead pixels, color tints or blotchy dark patches for which you can find many discussions on this forum. So, if this is the case, you would probably keep asking yourself "am I the unlucky one?" forever, thus please do yourself a favor and ask for a replacement.
Otherwise please consider this example: if I ask my father to look at my iPad's display he says he can't see the "defect". My girlfriend can. The iPad is the same so who's right and who's wrong?
My point is that you have to decide.
Basing on my own experience (I did it 4 times with the iMac), it's not worth trying to replace the iPad hoping to receive a "perfect" one: maybe you're lucky and would get a better one or maybe not. The fact is that replacement units are usually refurbished products that means you're going to get the device someone else has returned (properly inspected and cleaned by Apple, of course). Thus the highest chance of getting a good one is the one you already had buying your brand new unit. If you're still within the 14 days of "grace period" you can ask for a refund a buy a new one and this is probably the best option, otherwise follow my suggestion: keep it and enjoy your iPad, it's awesome!

Blue hue camera FIX

Hello all - I'm new in this forum as today is my first day and I'm new with my iphone 4 since 3 weeks. I was puzzled why I was having blue hues in my photos with flash, then after reading the forums, I suspected that it has to do with the obstruction between the camera and the flash. I had a skin that had two holes precut, so I cut the skin out between those two holes and lo behold, my pictures taken with flash are perfect (no blue hues)!! The same applies for cases that has two holes. Please refrain from skin or case with two holes. Best to purchase case or skin that has one big hole for both the camera and the flash so nothing goes between them. Thanks.

I have a similar experience, sometimes the LCD on my mbp adopts a very cool white balance, like the blue hue you mentioned, if I open up the display preferences panel then the screens white balance goes back to normal.

The graphic card is damaged. You can't do anything more than taking your computer to an Apple Store or reseller and getting your graphic card replaced.
Sometimes, when the graphic card is damaged, operating systems can't start. That's caused because the drivers that make the graphic card work detect an error, telling the operating system that the graphic card is unusable, so the operating system can't start and it restarts. However, you can start in safe mode because operating systems use a basic driver in this startup mode

Red channel seems very low resolution

Iwth a HVX200 and P2 workflow, I have noticed in the past that in Final Cut the images look good, but if you export them, the red channel can have artifacts, it looks like a 1/8th of the resolution. This could do with the channel smoothing.. I dunno.
However, I had a work around (a bit of a chicken dance: opening the original files in quicktime, unchecking then rechecking the 'hi-quality' mode, then saving them as uncompressed.. THEN outputting them as frames.)
However, with all the newest updates to the P2 importer, I am now noticing that the problem has creeped into Final Cut itself, and there is no way to work around it.
I have older footage that looks great, if I now go and re-shoot, it looks bad, really bad.
What is going on ?
Has anyone else had this problem.
I work in a large facility, and we do a lot of greenscreen and this is a real problem.

The little red blocks around the arms.It has something to do with over saturation of the red channel causing problems with color sampling and compression. Fortunately, it goes away once it hits a TV monitor. I'm a little bit confused as well, but I do know what your talking about.

Blue or grey screen on boot

Mac Pro 1,1; 10.6.4
On attempting to start up recently I got a screen in alternating shades of blue.
Trying to boot to a bootable CD gives me a 'you need to restart' grey screen.
Booting to the diagnostic works and finds no problems.
Booting in firewire target mode allows access to the HD and repaired some errors with diskutility but did not change symptoms. Subsequent checks show no errors.
Booting to an ubuntu livecd worked fine with generic graphics drivers (up to date drivers available but require a reboot).
Booting into safe mode has the blue screens alternating with a black screen with a white rectangle in the top left (about the size of an old terminal cursor).
Zapping PRAM doesnt seem to change anything.
Recent upgrades include +4GB RAM which I have removed and errors remain with the original 1GB RAM (2x512)
I have also replaced the graphics card recently, GT 8800 stopped working and I replaced it with another GT 8800.
The help pages on blue and grey screens seem to be mutually exclusive but both discuss removing peripherals and non Apple hardware.
Per above, I have tried the diagnostic/safe/boot CD options mentioned in both and the only option I cant try is removing the graphics card (unless there is a way to test a successful boot without a screen?)
I suspect it is either a graphics fault which ubuntu doesnt mind but OSX does, or a more complex disk corruption.
The next option appears to be erasing the disk with firewire/diskutil and attempting a fresh install (not sure why this would remedy the kernel panic on booting from CD).
Some logs have been populated in Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports, I can post fragments as required but am unable to interpret atm.
Any suggestion appreciated.

Trying to boot to a bootable CD gives me a 'you need to restart' grey screen.
That is what is referred to as a kernel panic.

Iphone 6 while plugged in during night lit up, screen turned red then green then black. Apple icon comes on and won't work for 15 minutes

IiPhone 6 plugged in to recharge, lit up, screen turned red, ro green to black and could not get it to work. Pushing buttons cause Apple icon to appear, then did the color thing again. After unplugging for 15 minutes, it seemed to reboot and work fine all day. This occured 2 at hotels on 2 different days. Anybody have this occur and know what the deal Is. Working fine now.

LG blu ray players to stream FIOS channels wireless

I am looking to try using a wireless LG blu ray player to stream some channels from FIOS instead of having to purchase additional cable boxes for some bedroom TVs. I can not find the technical requirements I need in a device to get this to work. Is FIOS DLNA compatible? Has anyone found a wireless blu ray player that has had experience with streaming channels from Verizon as is advertised on their website?

The first link contains support information for LG streaming devices. At the bottom of the page it shows the two currently supported Blu Ray players. You would need to do your own evaluations in regards to the wireles. But right now I have for example, Redbox Instant Beta loaded in my Iphone and it streams Via 3G or Wifi.
The Redbox Beta list of players is not final, as the service is being tested.
Not the same as a BD player, but my X box is streaming those 75 channels with an ethernet cable, and I have not tried it with wireless.
Samsung information is also available from Verizon.
I hope this information is helpful. They may not show it but here are Verizon's listed devices that can download the app from the app stores.
