Blue Line on 2012 iPad Screen

My iPad suddenly has a blue smugged line on it. It stays the same whether vertical or horizontal. It doesn't show up in screen shots. Here is a pic of the actual screen:
http://www.kevloucat.com/ipad-screen.jpg
Also, it MOVES. It was in the same location toward the middle, then it disappeared for a few days, then came back in the same location, NOW it's in a different location.
Restored the ipad tonight but it didn't disappear. I wanted to reach out here before trekking to the Apple Store.
Thanks!

You can attempt to reset the iPad by holding down the home and power buttons for 15 to 30 seconds until you see the silver apple then let your iPad start normally, if the line still shows up, i would recommend that you backup and restore the device as new and see if the line still shows up. If so your screen would need repair or replacement.

I purchased Macbook Pro i5 in March 2011. Now the screen has problem; one vertical blue line is in the screen (at the right side). I noticed this last week when I opened the macbook and now I am always seening it. I am seeing the blue vertical line always in the screen. However, I am not seeing this line when I open Word, Excel, PowerPoint files (without pictures). But I am seeing this line always when I see movies, pictures, and all the files which have pictures. Please do let me know how can I remove this vertical blue line (blue tint) pernamentally from the screen.

Backup your files to a external hard drive and disconnect.
Call Apple and make a warranty call, then take it to the nearest Apple Store etc.
You can run these things and it might clear your issue or give further informaiton
    Perform a hardware check

I have a thin blue line appearing on my screen that wasn't there before - what is it and how do I get rid of it?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
They are probably dead pixels or a signal of damaged GPU. If you can, connect an external display and see if the issue appears here.
In both cases, I suggest you to take it to an Apple Store or reseller. It doesn't look as a software issue, and your display or GPU have to be replaced

  • Light blue lines all over the screen & if I need to buy new...?

I am taking my Powerbook G4 to our Mac store on Monday. I use it with a Viewsonic monitor, and yesterday, there were suddenly faint offset blue lines on the whole screen. You can really see it where it used to be white. So set up the monitor to a different computer and it was fine. It is the computer. Maybe the screen? Or maybe a graphics chip? I really don't know how that works.
Any ideas what it might be?
My second question would be. This laptop is 4-1/2 years old. I use it all day long as I sell on ebay and etsy. The main things that I do are email, photo editing, and some games that I download from Bigfish, such as Ravenhurst.
Would I be good going with a Mac Mini since I already have a monitor and just bought a new keyboard about a week ago? Or the smaller Imac. I am on very limited space and even the smaller Imac will crowd my cubbie area a bit, it would not fit under my lowest shelf.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

My current Powerbook is Processor 1.67 GHz

  • Why do I have a thin blue line running down the screen?

There is a thin blue line running vertically down my imac screen a little to the right of the centre. It disappeared for a while - i think after I tapped a certain key - but then re-appeared and will not go away. What is it? How do I get rid of it? Mark

Sounds like a problem with the display. Contact your local Apple Store or AASP and make an appointment to have the display looked at. > Apple - Support - iMac - Service FAQ

  • Vertical thin pink and blue lines on my iMac screen

    20 inch iMac 2009 model I think 2.66GHz 4GB RAM 500GB HD.
First the screen went all blocky so I turned off the iMac via the button at the back. When I switched it back on I was created with loads of pink vertical lines then a grey screen.
After a while of resetting the PRAM and SMC and safe mode. Still nothing. I have managed to get it back to the Mac OS X desktop but now I have light blue and pink thin vertical lines with larger white vertical lines in-between.
Is this a RAM issue? Graphics issue or logic board? or just old age 7 years old there about?
    Any help would be good?

Seems like others have seen this …

I think it may be a GPU issue, I'm not sure how you can resolve this considering the age & the difficulty to get official Apple parts. You could ask an Apple store what the service cost is likey to be. I believe they will give you an estimation if they can inspect it. I would try to rule out the current installed OS by booting into recovery mode - if that also has the issue it seems like it would be the hardware itself.
You can also try a safe boot - that should also rule out third party software (but that seems unlikely to me).

  • Thin blue line on Iphone 5 screen

Was wondering if anybody has any ideas as to why I would have a very thin blue line, running about three quarters of the way up my screen, about half a cm from the left. It's only noticable when the screen has a white background. Otherwise the phone is in perfect working order and is just over a year old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello there, SuePop.
The following Knowledge Base article gives us a few recommendations for troubleshooting issues with your display:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
    Particularly:
    Display image issues
This can include bright or dark pixels, lines in video, or sections of video missing.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and Wallpaperand slide the slider.
If the issue persists, there are recommendations at the end of the article as well:
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
    Contact Apple Support.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Coloured lines through the Ipad screen

Have Ipad 2 now have coloured lines through the screen, no crack screen,.

Possibly a hardware problem, however, have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

  • I have a line on my ipad screen after ios update

I updated to ios 8 about two hours ago, right after the update finished i got this line that runs the whole length of the screen. It's an ipad with retina display.
At first i just turned it off and then back on. When starting up the line is white and it doesn't go the whole length. But when it's done loading the system it's black.
I've already tried restoring the ipad, that didn't work.
And another problem (related to this) is that when i opened this app with a dark background i could see the things i had opened. The apple logo from start up, the text from the twitter app, all translucent, but visible.
All this didn't happen before, it started right after the update.
I fear the software could somehow damaged the hardware. Any ideas, please?

Hm... That's very strange. Are the apps made by the same developer? If so, it may have something to do with that. There may be a fault in the programming.

  • Hairline blue line appears suddenly on screen

I have a 2.2 Intel Duo Core MacBook Pro and this morning it suddenly is now sporting a vertical hairline above all windows and on startup on the screen. I was having some display problems starting some months back but due to work had no time to give to a certified tech for diagnosis and repairs. It began with some flurry of white short lines running across the left side of the screen and then this morning this line appeared. My problem is I am currently working on three jobs that require my portable MacBook with me so I cannot turn into the shop for repair until the jobs are done. I guess my question is would this be something I can deal with in say three weeks or something I should have looked at immediately. Any advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you very much.

"Would the dents really cause Apple to void my warranty although they are so minor and nowhere near the display?"
Only AppleCare can answer that. However, AppleCare does not cover accidental damage.
I really don't see how pixel burns have to do with dents that are not near your screen. I am not a tech so I really do not know. You can always get a second opinion from another AASP or from an Apple Store Genius.
Since you need your MBP for business purposes, if the repairs will take some time and since you have AppleCare, I would request a loaner while your current MBP is being repaired. You should make this request by calling Customer Relations 1-800-767-2775
    Good luck!

  • I have a thick blue line running across my screen when click onto my apps how do I fix

    How to fix

Sounds like a broken screen.  If you've tried Apple's basic troubleshooting steps (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) and the problem persists, bring the phone to Apple.

  • HT1386 i have an iphone 4s. Im getting the iphone 5s for christmas, but i do  not have my phone backed up, and my phone is not working and my screen is covered with blue lines. I need help.

My iphone is not working, i was planning on getting the iphone 5s for christmas, but i do not have my phone backed up on itunes. On my screen are these blue lines across on my screen, and i cant see anthing and i do not know what to do. I want to back up my phone but i cant see my screen to back it up. I need help badly. Thanks apple hope you can help me in this matter.

You wouldn't need to see the screen to backup unless you have a passcode on the device. Is that the case? You should be able to plug the device into the computer with iTunes and just select backup now.

  • Blue Line on Screen

    Hi folks...
Just got my Xperia Tablet Z, opened it about an hour ago.
About half an hour into playing with it, a blue line appeared on my screen from top to bottom (in landscape mode).
Do you think this is anything I can attempt to fix myself or should I call Sony?
Yes, the line appears at startup :-(

I suggest that you try to run a software reinstall using SUS.

If the problem still remains you should contact your local support team, to have the phone examined and fixed at an repair center.

  • Blue line burned on screen

    Hello community,
I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem but recently I have what appears to be a burned in blue line horizontally across the screen about 1/3 of the way from the bottom. Is there anyway to fix this? It's not a complete deal breaker but it's annoying especially as the phone is only about a month old.
    Thanks!

You could download a screen test app and see if it produces the same blue line, but I am sure it will if your problem is the one I have seen before. Do a factory reset (No real way out of one in this case, thankfully its easy to back up everything now). If the line is still there call Customer Service and get a new device. If you are within your 30 days you will more than likely get a brand new device, if not you will get one that a certified one, which is just as good as a new one, without that new phone smell.
