Blue print developement

Hi
I am new to impelmentation what are the details I have to follow & I should know and proceed for blue printing for my module- are there any module specific steps? I am a MM consultant. How the blue print is generated and what are the question I should ask for to the client before finalising. I hope i am not asking a dumb question. Thanks for the understanding

Hi,
The Business Blueprint gives you a general idea of how your business processes could be mapped in one or more SAP Systems. The Business Blueprint documents in detail the scope of business scenarios, business processes, process steps, and the requirements of an SAP solution implementation.
A Business Blueprint compises the following structure elements in a hierarchy:
·        Organizational Units
·        Master data
·        Business scenarios
·        Business processes
·        Process steps
You assign content, for example, project documentation, Business Configuration Sets, or transactions to individual structure elements, in the SAP Solution Manager.
You can also create structure elements for organizational units and master data, below a business scenario. You only use these structure elements if the organizational units and master data are only relevant to the business process above them in the structure.
The Business Blueprint is the prerequisite in the Solution Manager for configuration and test organization:
You configure your business processes with reference to the Business Blueprint project structure. You can also display and edit the project documentation from the Business Blueprint phase.
You base all test plans that you create during test organization, on the Business Blueprint project structure. The transactions which you assign in Business Blueprint process steps, are put in test plans when you generate them. You can run these transactions as function tests, to test the transactions.

Blue Print Stage

Hi Gurus,
I am currently working on new project and working as per ASAP METHODOLOGY.
After completion of First stage we have started working on blue print stage.This is first time i am working on blue print stage.As during previous imple. i wasn't part of blue print stage.
I want some help from the experts that from where should i start with blue print , we currently at clients side studying the detailed business processes. Wanted to know from the perspective of SAP what are the critical issues i should concentrate at. What is Q&A Db ?
Please explain the various stages in detail.

Hi Komal,
I can give very few important tips
1. Pl chk with your company for the BBP Template and use that template
2. Mention all the client requirements in BBP
3. Mention the reports & smart forms required to develop
4. If you come to know that some process is difficult to map in sap for safe side " use subject to technical exploratiom in sap" so that if you need to map that through devepolment. this will be useful for u
5. be very specific and also in mirco level.

Number of integration scnarios are not fixed/ limited and nobody in SDN can predict it for your project....this Q will be best answered by your manager....

1. Who will be responsible for preparing the minutes of meeting? (XI Developer/Team Lead/senior consultant etc)
In general , TL will prepare and rest of all seniors will approved/ signed if it is senior level meeting , Offcourse it depends upon the meeting .
2 In usual Dev->QA->Prod project cycle...
Where would the Configuration and Version Control come into picture?
Who is responsible for configuration process of the developed objects?
How the configuration process would be in real time XI project? Are we needed to use any external configuration/version control tools like VSS etc..?
Yes Configuration will be the developer or the senior for interface configuration / basis for SLD configuration

3. I come across the terms like Legacy Systems, Third Party systems, SAP systems, Non-SAP systems, Web Systems.

I could not understand, why you need 350,000 WBS and also 6 levels of WBS.
How many levels and overall number of WBS elements should be maintained for telecom network project?
For Telecom project, either - it is BTS or core Network- not morethan 4 levels of WBS are used.
Eg: BTS Project
Level 1 - 1 No - Site
Level 2 - 2 Nos - Detail Engg and Site Build
Level 3 - 7 Nos - Site Aquisition ( Green field or Highrise struc)
                         Civil Construction( like fence, platform etc)
                         Tower
                         Transmission A
                         Transmission B ( Not req if it is an end site)
                         BTS/RBS
                         Variations
Also totally around 25 Networks will be used. Level 3 WBS will correspond to 1 Functional location and 1 Asset Class.
How to manage complex network activities site wise?
You have speak to the business users and come up with the network activities. You have to design the material BOM and attach to the activities.
All the Telecom projects are Investment Projects and the settlement will be as below
1. Network to WBS ( Done automatic by system)
2. WBS to AUC
3. WBS to Fixed asset ( After WBS status changed to TECO)

Like that all the topics covered for the particular company,IT IS NOT MANDATORY that all the topics in SAP SD are mentioned,It depends on the client requirement,we map their business process and we cover all the things in final blueprint
