Blue question mark after uploading image
After uploading an image to a collection page I only get a blue question mark on live site...no pics. Any idea why ?
Also, can add descriptions to video titles so they show up on content list without having to reupload entire video ?
I'm having this same problem with thumbnails. I just tried to update all my graphics yesterday...
The images I uploaded are showing up no problem in the back end, and if I click through to the collection page, the 300x300 version is there, but the front page of my site is a mess of blue question marks, and it's public-facing.
HELP! Anyone?

Safari not showing secure site images (blue question marks)
I have Safari 4 installed on my Windows laptop. I am having a problem viewing secure sites. All that appears is the text and then blue question marks where the images/tables should be. This is not a problem when using Firefox, Chrome, or IE.
This is also not a problem on my other windows computers nor on my Mac.
I've tried resetting Safari, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Safari, nothing is working.
Any idea how to fix this?I too am having this problem. I cannot access my gmail, ebay, facebook, or other login sites. If I attempt to access any site that requests user and password information, a safari dialogue stating "safari can't verify the identity of the website "...."". So far I've assumed that all of my certificates are comprimised. I don't know how to delete my certificates to get new ones as this information is not posted anywhere.

I just upgraded to ios 6 on my iphone 3gs and I noticed on a couple of incoming emails that the images and information are not being displayed. There is a blue square box with a blue question mark inside. I already tried to press the home key and power key to restart. The email still does not display correctly. I went on my laptop to retrieve that same email and I was able to see the graphics and information, so the problem is on the iphone. I received two emails like this, so I'm missing all the important information. I also tried to retrieve my email through the internet browser and I still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I forgot to mention that I have an Ipad 2 also and I can view the email information on there also. I received an email from Party city and it said to click here to print out the coupon. So I click the coupon and there is the little blue box with the question mark. This is the first time I've seen this happen, as I have printed out the coupons before. Maybe it has to do with the IOS6 update, because this just started to happen right after the update.

Getting blue question mark for images in Safari
Hi guys
I have MBP 15", early 2011, 250 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM, 10.10 Yosemite OSx and I am facing problem recently is that some images in Safari 8 browser won't open and instead blue question mark will arise . I have friend of mine using ipad2 and I asked her about this issue but the images opened with her smoothly. any suggestion.ThanksPlease read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -
Blue icon with question mark instead of image in email
Sometimes I get a blue icon with question mark instead of image in email, when viewing in Apple Mail Program.
Does anyone know why?????I'm asking your thread get redirected to the proper forum. Please read this tip on how to post on Discussions for future threads:

Is this issue with Tiger or Leopard? Your profile indicates you have a machine with Tiger, yet your signature of your post says you have Leopard.
Also, there is no such thing as a Powerbook Pro. Read the text under the screen to tell us exactly which model you have. MacBook Pro is the name given to Macs that are for the pro lineup of notebooks once Apple shifted to the Intel CPU.

Images show up only as blue question marks
I just purchased a new Macbook Pro approximately one week ago, and concitering it's BRAND NEW I don't understand why I have this problem. On sites like www.deviantart.com and also www.weheartit.com images show up as blue question marks... I have downloaded both chrome and firefox to check if they were any different, but the same images wont load there either. I've read some about this, but no one seems to have any other advice than to "check preferences" and set it to "show images" or something, as far as i can see there is nothing wrong with the preferences. I have also downloaded and updated to the latest versions of both java and flash, but nothing seems to work. This is getting really frustrating, and I am desperate for help! I greatly appreciate ANY advice. Thanks in advance
this is what I get on deviantart
and well, basically this is weheartit

I made my site on iweb and everything looked fine. But after I publish, for some reason some of the links come up as blue question mark icons instead of the hyperlink. All of them are text links. One is a link to an external page, one is a llnk to one of my pages, and the other ones are links for emails.
What's confusing me is the fact that the link to the external age and the link to one of my pages is on the same page. However there's two other links exactly like them on the same page and those two are fine. I looked through the forums and read about the fact that some images might've not gone through. But the funny thing is that I looked through the files and html code and the links that are working don't have any images associated with them. The links that are NOT working however do have images made. Does anyone know what the problem is?Post your URL and the users here can take a look at what you're seeing. Is this in Safari, Firefox, AND IE or just some of those?

Blue Question marks appear...
Blue Question marks appear when websites like Facebook have pictures. This began after Uverse was installed in my home. It did not do this previously with ATT High Speed Internet. Uverse claims this is a computer issue. SOMEONE HELP!
Yes my computer is updated.Hi..
If you are using Safari, from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Appearance tab.
Make sure the box next to: Display images when the page opens is selected.
If that box was already selected, back to the menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
If that doesn't help, try Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Click: Remove All Website Data
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. -
I have a 2011 iMac with version 10.6.8. I haven't made the switch yet to Mountain Lion. I just upgraded internet service from AT&T DSL 3.0 to AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet 6.0. After the "upgrade" I now get the blue question mark box on websites where images should be. Also, I'm unable to stream videos on sites like Hulu. I have troubleshooted the issue by ensuring the "Display images when the page opens" box is checked and reseting Safari. I do not have any 3rd party extensions.
Now here's where I get really confused...I also have a Dell laptop (work computer) connected to the same network. It doesn't have this problem at all. Works fine.
Anyone have any ideas?Hello, I'd reseach all the problem & missing features in 10.8 before considering it.
For the Safari problem, this has worked for a few...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click OK.
Also, turn off IPv6:
System Preferences » Network » AirPort » TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6
Or whatever Interface you use. -
I am running Mail 2.0.5 and have a problem with just one person who sends me messages with images imbedded that won't open and aren't listed as attachments. All I get is the blue question mark which seems akin to the red X in Windows. Attempts to copy the image don't seen to work. He uses Earthlink as his ISP. I have never had this happen with any other person who sends images. I do have "display remote images in HTML messages" checked. I'm stumped, my Mac friend is stumped, and an answer to the puzzle would be most welcome.
Are the embedded images stored on a remote server which must be downloaded/rendered when the message is opened?
If not, the "display remote images in HTML messages" checked will not resolve it.
Are these forwarded messages that were received by this person and if not, why can't this person attach the images to the message instead of being embedded?
This may require the person not using HTML for message composition but it shouldn't make any difference regarding the option to attach the image files instead of being embedded. -
Blue question mark email attachment
hi, could someone help me out...
I just set up a yahoo email account on my iPhone so I can send pictures etc. The set up was fine, however I just sent one of my iPhone's pictures through the mail and received the email with attachment, but upon opening, the picture is not displayed and a blue question mark appears in its place. Surely the iPhone is able to show the picture format it sends?!
So where am I going wrong? Any help appreciated!Yeah, I am having the same problem on my wife's ipod touch. It is connected to her yahoo email and some emails with jpeg attachements come through fine but other do not. She can always view them properly through the web browser on the imac but the ipod touch email just shows the blue question mark for some jpegs. The really weird thing is that jpeg images I send her from my iphone are in the category of the ones that don't show up. I've been searching a bit and haven't found an answer yet... hopefully someone here will have one for us

Blue Question Mark(s) of Death
At random times on Facebook and with various ads, I'll get the dreaded blue question mark in place of a thumbnail. It's annoying as **** and I've never found a fix for it. I've reset Safari, emptied the cache, but it's not just Safari-related: it's happening in Opera, too. I tested it out on a Dell and everything was OK, but my five-month old MacBook Pro can't seem to handle images. What can I do?
This thread (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1334564) seemed to have worked the problem out by adding "ISP DNS servers to the Network settings."
Since I have the same AT&T 2Wire router, I went to their site and added the two DNS servers to my Network list (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/2588). I suppose Safari's a bit faster, but I still can't see the same images.

That little blue question mark
I place a hyperlink to 'sending an email' and publish. On the published site a small blue question mark appears however the link is active. Why doesn't the email address show up as on the page in iWeb?
Any ideas? The little blue question mark on your published pages as viewed in a browser usually indicates that an image was not loaded. You may have to reload the page in order to force the image to download. It might also help to empty your browser cache (Safari>Empty cache) and/or add a "?" to the end of your URL to force the browser/server to fetch a fresh copy of things.
If any of this proves to be useful to you, please do me a favor and mark my reply as "solved" or "helpful" using the little buttons that you see in the title bar of this reply. Thanks. -
Photos from the Internet will not load correctly. I get white boxes with blue question marks inside. This has only been happening for the past 3 weeks so I'm not sure why it is happening.
Yes - email & text work fine but when I use something like Google Images or search a blog with imbedded photos I get the empty white boxes with question marks. If I click the question mark it opens the photo but I can't possibly do that for EVERY image on EVERY page I search!?!?! I've rebooted the iPad & my wireless card several times but neither action helped. Have any clue what I should do now?
