Blue-ray cd player problems

Trying to install an LG blue ray rd/wrte player (BH16NS40) and it sets up as a SCSI connection instead of sata.
Running MSI Mpower Z87, I7 4790, GTX 770, 32gb ram
I swapped with an LG (BH10LS30) and still having issues but at least it loads as a sata drive.
When I check the device manager on both drives it states
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).
Any ideas?

Went into the registry for the cd/dvd and removed upper limits key for that device. When I rebooted the BH1oLS30 drive came up and ready.
Then I removed and installed the BH16NS40 drive and it came up no problem.

  • Encoded video doesn't work on Toshiba Blu-ray disc player

I have a problem that I am trying to encode a sequence of frames in a video container , but the encoded video doesn't work on toshiba blu ray disc player .. I am using the following ffmpeg command to encode frames and convert them to a video:
    ffmpeg -i "C:\ManVsWigan\Frames\%d.png" -vcodec libx264 "C:\ManVsWigan\encoded.mp4"
I tried multiple video codecs but no luck yet
    "-vcodec mpeg4"
    "-vcodec mpeg2video"
If you have any idea please help me

The BluRay player leverages parts of Windows DirectShow but won't serve very well as a general player since Windows will load other players for the majority of media formats.
You can get away with a limited amount of tampering of the BluRay's players tolerance of media files until you violate some far away written DRM safeguard and kneecapping the BluRay player from doing anything.
If you're trying to validate your ffmpeg composed tests of your content as part of the editing process, you're better to avoid relying on the BluRay player that is purposed for narrow replay of licensed content and equipped with oversensitive safeguards susceptible to malfunctioning from the invasions of video pirates like you defined by studio executives.
You and I understand you're not a pirate but chances aren't being taken.
Whether you just dowloaded FFmep in the macho exe format or part of the millions of other packages that include it, you can tune your players to codecs pretty easily with the KLite Codec Manager or the Registry.
Chances are you already know about KLite since editing video on Windows eventually requires it and its hard to walk down the street without eventually kiceking over a copy. But just in case you've been living on a Martian cave with your hands over your ears, snag a mirrored copy from: http://codecguide.com /download_kl.htm
I like KLite more than others because it is fairly unobtrusive and avoids stomping over other media tools the way Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas enslaves Windows and can neuter BluRay codecs without always adequately replacing them. I can cite threads on the matter but just googling for anything such as "Adobe Premier killed my BluRay" or "Sony Vegas ruined Windows" will usually return desperate strings of posts long enough to wrap around Jupiters equator.
For general maintenance of Windows poor codec management, grab this noninstalling executable http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html to determine if Windows believes it has the same codecs you thought it did and you'll likely be surprised by the fine tuning you'll need to perform.

  • TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player not compatible with USB speakers

I have a P850, using Logitch Z305 USB speakers. The speakers work fine with all other multimedia software such as WMP, iTunes or MPC, but not with TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player. The Toshiba program either won't work or will crash if the speakers are plugged in. Is anyone aware of a way to fix this?
    Thanks

This Logitech speakers are plug and play device that uses standard driver and are installed as any other plug and play device. I dont have it but I saw interesting movie on You Tube about it.
To be honest I dont understand why it cannot works with TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player. I think you are the first one who has reported about this issue.
Problem is that Toshiba doesnt support third part software or hardware so it is not easy to find solution for this.
I really hope there are other users who have fixed it or can offer some useful tip for this pretty strange issue.

  • Could the Panasonic 5.1 3D Home Theater System Blu-ray Disc Player be used as speakers on a windows

    Could a
Panasonic - 5.1 3D Home Theater System - 600 W RMS - Blu-ray Disc Player be used as only speakers on a windows 8.1 desktop? And if so would it use bluetooth?

    Hello coltyn-
Based on the product description, it certainly looks like it may be able to be used as the speakers for your desktop set up.  Most likely you will need to buy some additional materials.  Unfortunately, I’m not an expert on this, so I would either recommend waiting to see if one of our community members comments on this or you can check with the experts at your local Best Buy store.

What does this mean "future streaming" -- does this mean it's does currently work due to a software issue but it has an built-in antenna
that might be enabled with a future update? I'm confused...
I just want to know if this device will connect to my home wireless network.. my network router / hub is no where near the TV and running a ethernet cable is not feasible.

  • Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player model BD-P4600

I just bought a Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player model BD-P4600. I was told by the store salesperson that it would work with my Mac on my home wireless network.
I set everything up as directed and cannot get it to join my network. I even went online and looked for information from others who had successfully connected to their home Mac system, however it did not seem to work for me.
I have a brand new Apple iMac running Mac OS version 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard). For my home network, I am using a Comcast cable modem connected to a Linksys Cisco WRT160N wireless N router. I am able to access all 3 home Mac computers, an Xbox 360 and an HP printer through the wireless network, but cannot connect the Blu-Ray player.
The message I receive says "No shared PCs were found."
I am usually pretty good with computer equipment, but I cannot get the Blu-Ray player to recognize the network. I even tried to connect directly to the router via ethernet cable with no luck.
Any thoughts on how I can get this to work?

You might also try turning off the wireless on your laptop and connecting it to the ethernet cable that is going to the DVD player. If you can connect to the internet, you know that you have a good ethernet cable and the port on the router is operational.
If you can't connect using your laptop, it's either a bad cable or connection, or you may have possibly setup Access Control on your router to only allow specified devices to connect on the basis of their MAC address.

  • Connecting Blu Ray DVD player to TV

    Hello,
I have an HDTV and we recently bought a Blu Ray DVD player. I was able to find an HDMI to DVI converter per the unit's owners manual, but could not find the audio cable(s) needed to get the unit to work. So we returned unit.
I was able to see Te video but could not hear any sound.
My question is how do I get the sound to work? What type of cable do I need?
Since our DVD player is now crazy and not working, I would like to upgrade to a blu ray DVD player. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!

If your tv has an optical plug you could use that for the sound
    Maybe.....
Not all TV's pass audio through the optical port on the TV. Some just use the optical port on the TV for the ATSC Tuner.
But in any case what you suggest will not work for the OP. Optical ports on TV"s are optical outputs NOT inputs, and the OP is wanting to get sound from his blu-ray player to TV.

  • LG BP320 Blu-Ray DVD player

I am considering buying the LG BP320 Blu-Ray DVD player.  The main reason I am considering this player is to be able to directly access Netflix rather than having to get the DVDs through the U.S. Mail.  I have a wireless router on my computer.  My question is this.  Is the router all I need in order to directly access Netflix or would I need addtional equipment?  If so, what else would I  need?  My TV is not a "smart" TV.  It is a Sony KDL-40XBR2.  Does it matter that it is not a "Smart' TV?

Technically, a router is all you need, but that will not guarantee good results. Your broadband connection should be of sufficient speed to handle the streaming of  movies. The router should be up to this task as well. There are many variables here, so give it a try and report back on your results.

  • IMac internet sharing failing to connect to my Blu-Ray disk player.

I have a Late 2009 iMac 27-inch. I have setup internet sharing through wifi. All of my iPods, iPads, iPhones connect just fine. But when I try to connect my Blu-Ray disk player, it gives me a timeout error. It is a Panasonic DMP-BD87P-K. I have called Panasonic, but they didn't offer to many things.

Internet Sharing is clearly working. The only options you can configure are the type of security and the channel. If changing those doesn't help, then either the device is too far away, or it's incompatible.

  • Is there Any Blu-Ray Media player out for Mac?

    hello everyone,
I just recently installed Pioneer BDC-202 Optical drive, which I ordered from OWC. It does come with a installation Disc, but not for Mac. I mean everything works, but I can't seem to get the Blu-ray Movies to work? Why is that? Is it because of the non supporting media player? I mean I can't seem to find it anywhere on the web. Is it because its not available yet? If not when are they making it available? I mean it would suck to spend 200 dollars on an internal Blu-ray disc player in hoping to watch some high quality movies. I think OWC should not have it available for sale on a Mac site when it doesn't have any supporting programs out there to make the darn thing work.

It's not clear if the nvidia 8800GT is HDCP. See: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7442757 .
My monitor (a Gateway XHD3000 30" display) is HDCP compliant, so I was wondering myself if the nvidia card is. Fortunately, not too big a deal for me, since I don't plan on watching protected movies in my sytem (I have a 52" LCD and 100" projection).

  • I created a iMovie with photos, music and titles; shared it with the media browser and burned it on a DVD RDL. The disc will play on my MacBook Pro, but it will not play on my Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player or a smaller portable DVD player. Why?

I created an iMovie with photos, music and titles; shared it with the media browser and burned it on a DV+RDL. The disc will play on my MacBook Pro, but it will not play on my Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player or a smaller portable DVD player. Why?

Probably because they don't accept that media.
Try using Verbatim DVD+DL (if your project exceeds 2 hours) or Verbatim DVD-R if it doesn't.

  • KDL-40EX40B TV with builit-in Blu-Ray DVD player

All of a sudden the integrated blu-ray DVD player has quit working.  When I insert a DVD, nothing happens.  I've tried several DVDs and it doesn't seem to recognize the presence of any DVD.  I tried pulling the plug and then putting it back in.  I also tried to reset the settings for Video on the XMB, but for some reason I couldn't access the settings.  What should I do?

I am having the exact same issues.  When I try to access the Blu-ray menu it simple hangs at Loading disc.  There are multiple topics/users with this issue with little responses from SONY.  Please advise.
