Blue screen after lcd change

After changing the LCD screen on my early 2006 20" Imac, the computer boots up to the blue screen only.

I have tried to start up from the installation CD, but the CD tray opens every time I start up the G4 and it just boots normally - screen with Apple logo and then blue screen.
It seems that they computer is not sending any signal out of the VGA. Perhaps it is sending the signal through the ADC - even though nothing is connected.
I have also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the VGA monitor several times.

    Thanks,

I have found the solution to this problem - hope you are still watching the thread.
Express install in parallels seems to be the culprit. Do a custom install instead and set your own virtual hard disk size. I set mine to 12 Gb (12000 Mb)and made it a fixed size instead of "growing" or whatever the heck parallels calls it. I also chose shared network instead of "bridged" (I read that someone else had identified this as part of the problem).
After making those changes it worked like a charm.

Same issue as alembee. Clean install of 10.6. Installed Xcode from disk. Changed a few preferences. Got prompt of 10.6.2 update (plus iTunes and Remote access). When updates were installed, I was given the options to "restart now" or "restart later". I chose now. It looked like I was logged out, but the computer (original MBP Core Duo) stalled at the background nebula/aurora image. I could still move the mouse. Since I enabled ssh remote login, I tested it from another computer. Sure enough, I could login to the MBP and see all the processes running (top). I executed a "sudo reboot" to remotely restart the system.
I put in the 10.6 disc (held down "c") and went to Disk Utility. Ran Verify Permissions and Verify Disk for good measure (nothing wrong). I have upgraded the RAM and HD since purchase, but I don't see how this would be an issue. Since I was able to login remotely, it was seems to be an issue with proper logout and restarting.

  • Blue screen after Error 37: a bad filename or volume was encountered

I get a PAGEFAULT_IN_NONPAGEDAREA blue screen after I encounter multiple Error 37: a bad filename or volume was encountered.
Anyone encounter this issue and how to you send info to apple for them to fix their buggy code?
Their support of code which will run bug-free on vista seems to be lacking (I understand there are two parties to this marriage).
    Help anyone?

I noticed a few days ago that (at least on my box) Quicktime seems to have "issues" with >31 characters anywhere in the file path.
Is it possible that you have some folder along the way to your movie that has more than 31 charaters?
Shorten if necessary and see if that works.

You won't lose any data unless you erase your hard drive.
Put your install DVD into the optical drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c"key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it.When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've selected the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.

  • Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Cluster, VM blue screens after migration between nodes.

I currently have a two node Server 2012 R2 Hyper-v Cluster (fully patched) with a Windows Server 2012 R2 Iscsi target.
The VMs run fine all day long, but when I try to do a live/quick migration the VM blue screens after about 20 minutes. The blue reports back about a “Critical_Structure_Corruption”.
I’m being to think it might be down to CPU, as one system has an E-2640v2 and the other one has an E5-2670v3. Should I be able to migrate between these two systems with these type of CPU?
    Tim

Sorry Tim, is that all 50 blue screen if live migrated?
Are they all on the latest integration services? Does a cluster validation complete successfully? Are the hosts patched to the same level?
The fact that if you power them off then migrate them and they boot fine, does point to a processor incompatibility and the memory BIN file is not accepted on the new host.
Bit of a long shot but the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head if the compatibility option is checked, is checking the location of the BIN file when the VM is running to make sure its in the same place as the VHD\VHDX in the
CSV storage where the VM is located and not on the local host somewhere like C:\program data\.... that is stopping it being migrated to the new host when the VM is live migrated.

  • Is anyone else experiencing their phone randomly locking up and going to a blue screen after the most recent update?

iPhone 5s Random Blue Screen after last Update

I have had 9 iOS devices either just show the apple log and go black or a dead battery even thou they were on the chargers for hours.
I brought them to the Apple store.  No one could give me an answer as to why it did it.  All you have to do to fix it is do this:
To put your device into recovery mode, follow these steps:
Turn off your device and leave it off.
Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes.
Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. ...
When you see this screen, release the Home button.
From the consensus of the people in my office that did the iOS 8.3 update.  The ones that did the update while the iPhone or iPad was on a charger are not experiancing any issues.  The ones that did the update without being on a charger are the ones experianceing the issues at hand.

Ok so i got this laptop in a few days ago here are the problems and the things i have tried. This laptop when it came to me did not have a hard drive, so obviously no OS. Upon installing a hard drive then trying to load Yosemite from a USB stick, I turn mac on, sleep light will blink 5 times then boot, Will come to normal gray screen then apple logo, will then load the OS install, but go straight to a blue screen with vertical lines. Tried different hard drive, tried different RAM sizes and speeds, tried different OS, tried CD instead. Have done numerous PRAM and SMC resets. trying Safe mode gets me a panic cpu 4 caller error then restarts. I have tried using a hard drive that had an OS already installed and will go straight to blue screen after loading. I have tried fsck -fy in single user mode. I do get that disk2s3 is write protected in single user mode, but im pretty sure that its the OS disk. I do not see a second hard drive in single user mode but i believe that because its not partitioned yet. Any ideas community?

Tried doing OS X lion by CD now, and will only get half way through load bar before the apple logo and loading bar disappears and then it will sit at a gray screen.

  • Blue Screen after clean reinstall snow leopard

I have a mid 2011 that came with Snow Leopard and disks.  I upgraded from there to Lion - then whatever came next and to Mavericks and finally Yosemite, which was a nightmare for me. I did not use disks of any of the rest.  So I just decided to take my disks and go back to Snow Leopard.  I did this and it asked to go to disk utility and repair both the HD and Permissions.  It came out ok, but there was an instance where looking at the list in HD repair, I saw Suid File System Library Core was moved and cannot be repaired. I went ahead and erased the Hard Drive. Then closed out and installed Snow Leopard. I'm not sure I did it right because I had to rename the new start up disk and typed in unnamed 1.
after that I was able to start up to Snow Leopard. It worked fine until I tried to download all the updates. Then it didn't seem to restart, but just went to the sign in screen.  So I had to keep shutting down and turning it back on. No updates. One of times I started up, I got the blue screen after the apple and gray screen.
Also on start up the apple comes up without the chime. Last night I got some instructions from a similar situation and tried to use my disk to a clean reinstall all over.  It didn't work, still the blue screen. (it does fine in safemode.)
I need help to get this mac running.  If someone can help me......

    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. After you finish Setup Assistant will complete the installation after which
you will be running a fresh install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process
by opening Software Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your
             installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
