Blue screen after shut down, service station won't work on reboot

A blue screen suddenly appeared on shut down yesterday, and my laptop immediately restarted after. On restart, a message popped up saying that Toshiba Service Station stopped working. Last time I shut down my laptop the blue screen doesn't appear anymore, but on reboot Toshiba Service Station still wont work.
My laptop is a Satellite L510 (PSLGJL-002001), running on Windows 7 Home Premium
Here is the details I found on my reliability monitor in Action Center
Windows stopped working

  • My ipad showed a blue screen and shut down.

My ipad showed a blue screen and shut down.  I cannot restart it.  A soft restart did not work.  I tried connecting to iTunes on the PC but it did not detect the device

Did you try resetting the iPad?
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears- let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't do anything, try this for the issue with iTunes not seeing the iPad.

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, restore your iPad using iTunes or iCloud >  iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

My MacBook pro is stuck on white screen after shut down. Now, neither this is turn on nor turn off.

You should be able to turn off your MBP by pressing the power button down continously for about 5-10 sec. When you reboot it you are going to want to enter into a terminal screen. Hopefully the following YouTube video helps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKOX72xNmbo

  • IMAC Intel Core 2 Duo -- from Blue Screen to Shut Down -- Need Assistance

I have the iMac 20-inch Intel Core 2 Duo.
Was on the internet last night and the computer completely locked up, got he spinning pinwheel, waited for about 5 minutes and tried a force quit with no luck. I shut it down and then powered it back up and only got to the blue screen. Shut it down again, same problem. Let it sit for a couple of hours to see if it would fully boot but nothing. Searched a bit on the apple support site and went with the reccomendation of trying to start in safe mode, got to the grey apple screen, then it went black and shut down on its own and has done that every time since.
I have unplugged everything several times, reset the PRAM and still nothing.
I have been getting the spinning pinwheel off and on over the past few weeks but a force quit would usually clear the application. I have been experiencing problems accessing hotmail lately so I have been clearing the history and deleting cookies, this has been the only way I have been able to access hotmail. Don't know if that has anything to do with this or not.
Additionally the computer has been gradually getting slower over the past few months. Didn't really think much of it at the time.
My biggest concern is losing the data I have saved on the hard drive right now. Getting the computer to work again would be nice too as I only bought it about a year and a half ago.
Any assistance or info greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Permanent blue screen on shut down

Hi: Since a few days I cannot properly shut down. The blue screen with the revolving circle stays for ever and I have to do a hard shut down (pressing power button 5 seconds). This even happens after a save boot with all extensions disabled and all peripherals disconnected.
    I did:
    disc check,
    permissions repair,
    SMC reset,
    Apple's hardware check,
    PRAM reset,
    to no avail.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

This is for a Mac that won't shut down. Launch +Activity Monitor+ and see if there are any active applications besides Activity Monitor ( items with icons next to the name), select them, and click Quit Process.
If an app won't quit by clicking Quit, click Force Quit. Then try shutting down again.
If that doesn't work start killing off system-managed programs ( items without icons ) . Be sure to quit only the programs your user account is running; don't quit anything identified as "root" or "nobody" in the User column- and whatever you do, don't quit any of the following : loginwindow, Window Server, ATSServer, or SystemUIServer, which make up the foundation of Mac OS.
Quit one process at a time, and then shut down after each kill until you find success!
    I wish you luck!
p.s.If you install two of a single user licensed third-party application on different computers which are networked, this symptom may occur. If that is the case, a solution is to perform "Erase and Install" for both computers.

I suggest that you test with one piece of RAM at a time. It may be a RAM problem.
Do post the code of the BSOD here to let us identify what the exact problem may be.

  • Radeon 9250 Blue Screen on Shut Down

Problem with Radeon 9250 graphics card -- blue screen on Start | Shut Down, PC will not shut down, instead reboots. Blue screen message:

Radeon beta windows 7 driver package did not help. Current driver v8.252.0.0 worked fine with Vista 32bit Home Premium. Physically removing 9250 from the PC and using onboard VGA eliminated the blue screen. Reinstalling 9250 brought back the blue screen.

I have a Radeon 9250 (Sapphire AGP model) working fine on my machine, though it took a while to figure it out.
I think it's something to do with the driver you use, though it might be something funny like it's trying to read the secondary monitor output on the card.  If you used the Catalyst 8.x drivers for Vista they don't work either. I ended up going on the AMD/ATI website and grabbing the drivers for XP Pro/Home 32-bit and they worked for me.
Try this: Grab this file - Drivers for Radeon 9250 - XP 32bit.  It's an auto-exec but won't run under Vista/Win7 so instead explore the file & pull the folders out to your desktop.  Next, open up your device manager, then properties for your 9250. On the driver tab hit "Update Driver" and follow the options to manually browse & install the driver yourself.  Browse to the folder you pulled out, make sure it's set to search subdirectories, then hit OK.  This should do it - the plug & play recognition of the card will kick in once the driver is found.  If you've done it right and your card has a secondary monitor output, you'll not only be able to boot without a blue screen but it should automatically find that second output as well.
Thanks bcm02809. I have the PCI version and my current driver is the XP 32bit driver.

  • Blue screen on shut down

Every time I try to shut down my iMac, I get the blue screen (with the spinning thing in the center) and it doesn't ever shut down, so I just power off. How can I fix this?
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
It is difficult to assist folks who haven't updated their software to the latest version of Mac OS X and the latest Security updates. Apple engineers work hard to address the different issues that occasionally arise and using the most recent software is the first line of defense.
Before updating it is advisable to go to Apps/Utilities/Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Repeat until no more repairs are reported. If you are leery of using Software Update, then each of the updates is available from the Apple Downloads page as an individual download. Follow the instructions and be patient, some of the updates spend awhile on the gray screen with the spinning gear and then restart, sometimes once or even twice before completely booting into the updated Mac OS X. Losing patience and forcing a restart during an update can cause issues from which it is difficult to recover. Some folks recommend downloading and installing the Combo Updates for your Mac model. After the update has successfully installed and restarted it is a good idea to Repair Disk Permissions again.
One way to prevent issues during an installation is to disconnect Firewire/USB peripherals, use a wired Apple keyboard and mouse and to shutdown all other apps during the update, including Bluetooth and Airport.

  • Itunes causes my computer to have a blue screen and shuts down when closing out Itunes window?

When I close out my Itunes window my computer goes black then to a blue screen with words about crashing then shuts down in Windows Vista!

Thanks, I did that yesterday and it worked. I tried to repair it but it said there was a fatal error and I don't even need that Mobile device support. anyway. So after I uninstalled it, it never happened the next two times I closed out Itunes after that.

    Hiya
Run a full computer scan with your antivirus software. virus Backdoor.NTHack. may be the problem, and it runs Dl.bat in folder InetPub\Scripts.When you boot up the computer, go to task menager (CTRL+ALT+Delete), look if you have this runned: Firedaemon.exe, Sud.exe, Os2srv.exe,  Mmtask.exe.
    2. If you have a CARD READER than go to bios "Integrated Peripherals" and set Legacy USB storage detect to DISABLED
