Blue screen apears on Satellite A40 after installation from recovery CD

Hi
I have a Toshiba A40 and I was trying to recover the system back to factory setting with the product recovery CDs. The CD booted the systems and prompted for installation which was then completed and asked to restart the computer.
However, after restart, the PC is not booting. A blue screen appears with a message that 'Windows cannot be started due to some problem. Please check for virus or check the harddisk'.
I then booted the PC with another bootable CD-disk and checked for latest anti-virus which shows nothing. Then I run SCANDISK on hard drive and it also doesn show any problems.
Please could anyone advice?

Maybe this is a stupid question but did you use the right Toshiba Recovery CD designed especially for the Sat A40 notebook?
I read many threads here in the forum about people who has recovered or tired to recover the own notebook with different and wrong Toshiba recovery CDs.
After such procedure the notebook will not run correctly and the BSOD could appears because the preinstalled drivers on the Tosh image are not compatible with the notebook!
So be careful!

Blue screen error (BSOD) during and after installation of Windows 7

I had to reinstall Windows 7 via the recovery partition. During the installation I kept getting Blue screen errors and even now I am still getting BSOD within minutes. I have no problem in safe mode.
My laptop is a Satellite C650D-12C. I wanted to update BIOS but I can't in safe mode. What should I do next?

Recovery image saved on HDD is tested so everything should be OK with recovery image installation.
What you can try is to use Microsoft installation disc to see if the same will happen again.
If yes, Im afraid you need professional help with this. Notebook has probably valid warranty so the service guys should check this.
Have you created recovery DVD?
BTW: I think BIOS update is not solution. Recovery installation must work with this original BIOS version.

Mass downloading after installation from a disk

I recently bought Premiere Elements 12 on a disk. Installation went smoothly and the program seems to run just fine. However, whenever I am running the program, a program that I have called BitMeter (a program that tracks Internet usage) show mass downloading. I tried restarting the program and even rebooting the computer but still, every time i run the program, it starts to download. It doesn't seem to be downloading anything, Premiere Elements doesn't say that it's downloading anything and the folder that it is installed into hasn't grown in size. I left it downloading for a while and after 2GB it was still going. Since I installed off of a disk i can't see any reason why it would need to download anything that large. Is there any reason why Premiere Elements 12 would be downloading anything after installation from a disk?

I do not know if you got to Content in the program. Much of it has to be downloaded before use. But, it would appear that it is on demand and not downloaded until you demand it. The Online Folder that contains the downloadable content runs several GBs.

I am not sure what you might be picking up with your BitMeter program.
It would be interesting to hear Adobe's comment on this. We are not Adobe. Just Premiere Elements users trying to help other Premiere Elements users with their Premiere Elements workflows.
What you might try, wild guessing, open the Elements Organizer 12, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/Media Analysis and shut off all the AutoAnalyzer options and everything else under Media Analysis. Then observe what happens, if anything, to your program activity. Have you started using the Adobe Revel feature?

Sometimes Blue screen appears on Satellite M70

Hi there
I must express my overwhelming frustration with my satellite M70 laptop as I have it for more than a year now(warranty expired) and almost from the get go it had a problem in wich a blue screen appeared and the pc reboots...from the error report it is a problem with the graphics card and/or display driver.
I did take it to my local retailer for repair but the problem still remains(gone there 3 TIMES! each time waiting for more than a month for repair!and they did send it to toshiba service...)... as the problem doesnt happen *all the time* it seems they just didnt notice or something :(.
I did update all the drivers but it had no effect on the problem...
So now what?? Do I send it to repair and they finally replace the graphics card...but I pay??!!
This is all very upsetting for me as you might imagine...
And know its worse...it seems to be happening more and more...and many times the computer wont reboot after the bluescreen...it just stays black.
Now almost every time i turn it on it wont boot...the fan will just work for a few seconds and thats it.
Im almost certain the graphics card is defective...can I replace it at home? Argh this just feels wrong, the computer had this problem almost from the start and I sent it for repair...they just did not fix it...I shouldnt have to pay to fix it as I sent it for repair 3 times while it still had the warranty...
Please reply I'm desesperate and have no idea what to do

But the thing is I have already done that countless times...and the problem is still there...same old same old :(
I have tried seemingly everything...thats why I say its gotta be hardware :S
Having this in mind Id like to know if there is anything I can do(concerning hardware) without resorting to Toshiba service
Keep in mind that Im pretty sure it is the graphics card that is faulty(I dont know if its onboard or not)
Also sometimes when I turn it on the graphics on my pc go weird like an abstract painting or something lol...thats another reason to think its the graphics card.
So anyone can help me?

Blue Screen Error on Satellite A100-920 (PSAA9)

I had a blue screen error during normal use and after restart, Windows suggested updating the BIOS, so I updated it with the latest version (5.10). The next day, I got another blue screen and on restart, Windows suggested I update my display drivers, which I did (to ver. 8.241)... I have an ATI Radeon X1400 GPU. After doing that, the computer crashed every time it loaded windows, with a popup about services.exe telling me the computer would turn off in 60 seconds.
I assumed this was related to the display driver, so I replaced the drivers with an earlier-dated version (8.241-034065C). After I did this, it seemed to work and I could use the computer fine for a bit, even play games such as GTA but i am starting to get the blue screens again, usually just when opening folders, etc and not when running graphics-heavy applications. The problem definitely goes away when I disable my display drivers, but that's not much of a solution.
I turned off the reboot on error setting and this is the information from the blue screen of death:

Does anyone have any idea how I can sort this problem, it's driving me crazy!
I have downloaded the Omega drivers for the card, but am slow to install them as I hear they can cause overheating and I think ATI/Toshiba should be able to provide me with a solution without me having to use third party drivers.

I have Network Associates (McAfee) v. Enterprise 8. I ran a full virus scan with this and windows defender and a worm stinger utility and another microsoft app whose name I forget... all came up clean.
I tried the omega drivers out of frustration and they cause services.exe to terminate.
Could it possibly be a BIOS issue? I'm not sure how likely it is, since the computer definitely works with the display adapter enabled and will usually crash (BSOD) after anything from a few mins to a few hours with it enabled. I seem to be getting two types of reply from microsoft on restart, one saying there is a general driver fault and one saying there is a display driver fault and suggesting updating the display drivers.

Blue Screen immediately when I put in installation disk.

Please forgive me as I'm not very computer literate. As soon as I put in the installation CD I get a blue screen with a fatal error message. Since I'm not good at computers I was hoping I can get some direction as to where to start looking in that Blue message to find out what could be lacking in my system. I have a Toshiba lapton with an AMD Turion II Dual Core 2.3 Ghz with 4.0 RAM 64-bit with a ton of storage 2MB. Any ideas? Forgive my ignorance...this is way outta my league.

Blue screen appears for 1 second after closing my games apps

I'm the only one here having this issue ?
after i played a game like clash of clans, and i'm bout' to close the apps in multitasking tab,
suddenly blue screen appears and flickering for one second...

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

Why can't I access my own wifi? why do I get a blue screen on start up or after watching a netflix movie, and why is it getting so hot?

My mac has been showing a blue screen on start up and before shut down, especially after netflix. Is it silverlight? Why can't I get on my own wifi? It defaults to a linkys public network, I try to access the secure network, type my password, enter, and I get connection timeout.

I was re-decorating my blogger .. then I got the 'Bad Request Error 400' .. I re-formatted my computer, reloaded all .. I can now access my Blogger sites .. Don't know what the problem is/was, but I solved it by reloading my computer to Out-of-Box condition, and all is perfect now .. I have an alert set up for this Error 400 .. BLUE SCREEN on my power book after it took a Coke bath!

I spilled some Coke on my laptop and after a month of being dead it came back to life. Now when I turn it on I get a blue screen with the Mac hard drive icon in the center and a button on each side, on the left a sort of refresh/reload button on the right an arrow (like go ahead kind of button).
If I press refresh nothing happens, if I press arrow, the computer boots up. The battery does not last much like used to and as I'm working on the computer the characters change from normal letters to special symbols like when you press option c you get ç.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi again, Vanesa. The blue screen with the two buttons is the Startup Manager, which is invoked when you start the Powerbook up while pressing and holding the Option key. It never appears under any other circumstances. So the fact that it appeared when you started up your machine is a dead giveaway that your Option key was depressed at the time. If you weren't holding it down, something else was: undoubtedly the sticky Coke residue. The offbeat characters appearing when you type confirmed the diagnosis. I didn't need any Sherlockian powers of deduction to figure it out; I just needed your description of the Startup Manager screen, which was crystal clear.
It's too late now to do any of the things you should have done immediately after the spill, but you may want to read this article about spill cleaning just for the light it sheds on what can happen when computers and liquids collide:

I read a lot about the BSOD and BCCode 116.
Some people said that this is issue could be related to the graphic card driver
Some other people said that this could be a RAM issue
I recommend removing/uninstalling the graphic card driver and to use the Win 7 default graphic card driver for testing purposes.
You should also check if your BIOS is up to date.
If not, make an update.

DL 360 G5 blue screen USB error on server 2008 installation

Urgent - Blue Screen when not in Replicator after standby

Hello,
mostly my T61 is in my replicator and a wide screen is conneted. Going into standby I use short press on power. this works fine.
If I use it without replicator as stand alone and wireless, every time I get a blue screen usinf fn + f4 and fn for restart!
I updates all software to latest versions. nothing helps, no problems with hardware, no disgnostics found...
I tested disabled bluetoht, wireless, mouse, usb stick - nothing helps.
Any ideas ???

Solved, I had 2 different cases:
1) System Update showed that latest Bluetooths was installed but it was not !? So I installed manually, first uninstall old version and then new and latest version
2) a driver (dtwmnic5.sys) of my telefon hardware (EUMEX PC 520, manufactured by DETEWE Berlin), makes problems and no new version will be available.....I have to disconnect this network service, now all is fine

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1260se with factory installed operating system of Vista. When booting up the computer, I receive a blue screen with this error message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}.
                                                            The verification of a KnownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpectedly with
                                                             a status of 0x0000221 (0x007fb9c0 0x00000000).
                                                             The system has been shut down.
I do not have recovery disks for this computer. I tried to order them but them seem to not be available. This is my daughter's computer. She says she started to have trouble after downloading Frost Wire (music share) and then she removed it. We tried going back to an earlier time and that didn't help and then the blue screen with error message appeared. What do I do now?

Assuming your in the US, recovery discs are available to order for that model here. That may be the best option.
You should also be able to do a recovery without the discs as well. Take a look at this document: Recover Windows Vista Operating System Using HP Recovery, and look for the section Restore the PC to its original condition with the HP Recovery Manager if Windows Vista is not accessible. This should allow you to recover the PC.

Getting blue screen when i try to do a system recovery

hi im having problems with my hp compaq presario cq60 i currently have windows vista running on it right now and it was working fine then the other day i was on a website doing something then all my pages froze on me and i went to shut it down and restart then it came up a blue screen now and i tried to get the system recovery to come up but it wont come up it just stays on the blue screen and never brings up the menu so if someone can please help me i would appreciate it im trying to avoid having to get it repaired cause i cant afford to renew my warranty right now
