Blue Screen appears on Toshiba Satellite C660-11L (PSCONE)

Dear all,
I have this problem ... I believe that it is the display driver, but I prefer to ask you, because you are the TOSHIBA specialists after all. So, I use WinXP Pro x86, SP3, fully updated, without viruses (NOD 32 v. 5 + Malwarebytes).
When I switch to thumbnails and there are some pictures, when I try switching on my camera, when I even sometimes try to play a movie on my computer and the "blue screen" appears and the laptop automatically restarts by itself.
So far I was not able to find a driver for the model 11L, but only for C660. Could that be the problem? Please, support me with the solution that I am searching for.
Best regards,
A.D.

  • Sometimes Blue screen appears on Satellite M70

    Hi there
I must express my overwhelming frustration with my satellite M70 laptop as I have it for more than a year now(warranty expired) and almost from the get go it had a problem in wich a blue screen appeared and the pc reboots...from the error report it is a problem with the graphics card and/or display driver.
I did take it to my local retailer for repair but the problem still remains(gone there 3 TIMES! each time waiting for more than a month for repair!and they did send it to toshiba service...)... as the problem doesnt happen *all the time* it seems they just didnt notice or something :(.
I did update all the drivers but it had no effect on the problem...
So now what?? Do I send it to repair and they finally replace the graphics card...but I pay??!!
This is all very upsetting for me as you might imagine...
And know its worse...it seems to be happening more and more...and many times the computer wont reboot after the bluescreen...it just stays black.
Now almost every time i turn it on it wont boot...the fan will just work for a few seconds and thats it.
Im almost certain the graphics card is defective...can I replace it at home? Argh this just feels wrong, the computer had this problem almost from the start and I sent it for repair...they just did not fix it...I shouldnt have to pay to fix it as I sent it for repair 3 times while it still had the warranty...
Please reply I'm desesperate and have no idea what to do

Hi Andrej and thanks for the reply
But the thing is I have already done that countless times...and the problem is still there...same old same old :(
I have tried seemingly everything...thats why I say its gotta be hardware :S
Having this in mind Id like to know if there is anything I can do(concerning hardware) without resorting to Toshiba service
Keep in mind that Im pretty sure it is the graphics card that is faulty(I dont know if its onboard or not)
Also sometimes when I turn it on the graphics on my pc go weird like an abstract painting or something lol...thats another reason to think its the graphics card.
    So anyone can help me?
Thanks in advance for your replies :D

  • Re: Satellite A300-29n - blue screen appears on setup of XP?

    Hello
I'm working on windows vista and facing no problems
when i wanted to set up XP on the machine ,after loading the files of the windows
it was written "setup is starting windows "
    every thing was going well
a blue screen appeared (a problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to computer ...........................)
    plz help me
    thanks

Maybe you should continue to use Vista and you will not have any problems. ;)
Which WXP do you use? Which SP?
Is HDD recognized properly? I mean can WXP installation be started or not?
The whole story is strange. I have A300 too and use WXP and Win7 as dual boot. No problems at all.

  • Tecra 9100, a blue screen appears

When I start up Novell GroupWise on my Tecra 9100 a blue screen appears? Very weird. Can anyone help me to stop this.

ditto--happened on my machine too. I found out that this blue screen can appear if True Color (32 bit) is selected under Colors in Display Properties. Both of you will have to download the update for the Display Driver from the Toshiba support pages. There is a txt file provided for instruction

  • Blue screen appears

I've bought my S10e in April 2009. it worked properly until a month ago when i was browsing, this blue screen appears suddenly and Windows (XP SP3, home edition) restarts. It happens too fast that i cannot read the message. after logging in this message rises: the system has recovered from a serious error.... and i send the issue to Microsoft. I use Google Chrome as browser. I think when i'm online using WiFi, it happens. I uninstalled chrome but it happened again with Firefox when it tried to open a web page reporting the problem to Microsoft.
I used the check disk tool in Windows but didn't help. I've two drives, Windows run on C: capacity=30 GB, free space=4 GB.
I've run CCleaner to optimize registry before these blue screens.
I also have Kaspersky Internet security installed on my netbook. it works fine.
    I've got all Microsoft updates.
Is it the problem of bios? or what?
please help me because i'm very dependent on my S10e.
    Thanks

  • Blue screen appears on startup and at shutdown

A few months ago, I bought a macbook pro and it was doing fine. But recently, every time it starts, a blue screen appears for a split second then it goes to log- in. Then, every time I shutdown, it will also show up for a split second then shutdown. It doesn't affect the computer but I'm just wondering how to stop it.

I couldn't rember what time it started so, I shut down my computer and the blue screen appereed at 8:39:28. But went I turned it on, the blue screen did not show. So, I turnned it of and on again and no blue screen. I did it several times and now the blue screen isn't showing. But I will post the test that showed in the concel during 8:39, when it powered of blue, to the time I powed it on, when the blue screen did not show. If you need more, I will try to give it to you. I'll post again if it shows up again. Also I  should edit out ethernet address too right?

If nothing else works, you might try this one. It has worked for many others ...
Use iTunes to do a reset to factory default condition. Always be sure to do your backups before fiddling with your iPad. You might do both the iCloud and the iTunes backup, just to be sure!

iPad 2 and iOS 8.0.2 Problems
For all iPad 2 owners, this is an important solution for you! These problems result from long-term use, continuous upgrades, corrupted files and various glitches that happen over this long term use. You just need to get your iPad 2 back to FACTORY FRESH CONDITION to start out clean!
Here's one person's solution which will help a lot of iPad 2 users!
keithfrommariettaOct 12, 2014 3:25 PM Re: IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgrade
Re: IPAD2 very slow after IOS 8 upgradein response to pacoKAS
SOLVED:  IOS 8 Issues on iPad 2:
I just returned home from a visit to the Genius Bar. Like you and many others, when I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8, it became practically unusable. It was VERY slow, lagged whenever trying to to do anything. Lots of screen freezes and apps spontaneously crashing. I was convinced that the processor on the iPad 2 just couldn't handle the new IOS and I went in to see about restoring to IOS 7.
Thankfully, I was hooked up with a very sharp guy at the bar. The problem is not with the OS, it is with it being an *upgraded* OS. He used the analogy of when you had an older Windows computer and how over time (and over upgrades), they just tended to get slower and slower because of all of the garbage that was carried forward in the upgrades. At those times (and if you've ever had a Windows computer, you get this), the only thing that would speed it up would be to wipe the machine and do a fresh install of the current OS and then reload your apps, and the viola, everything would be fast again. Well, it turns out that IOS can suffer the same problems.
THE FIX:  FIRST, be sure you have a current iCloud backup of your device.  Connect your iPad to a computer that has a clean fresh copy of IOS 8 on iTunes (this is best done with a computer other than the one that you sync your device to because you DO NOT want to restore it from a back up just yet). Ideally, if you do this at an Apple store you'll be assured of the right version there and someone to answer any questions you might have along the way. You then hold the power and home button down to hard-reset the device and continue to hold them down until it reboots into recovery mode. You then follow the instructions on the computer to reinstall the OS on the device (which wipes everything from it and then reinstalls a clean copy of it). Once this is done (which only takes about 15 minutes), your device will reboot and ask you to set it up. Answer the questions about language, location, etc. and continue until it asks you to log into your iTunes account. Once you do that, it will ask if you want to either 1) Set it up as a new device, 2) Restore from iCloud, or 3) Restore from iTunes. Choose (2), restore from iCloud. This will ensure that it brings down "clean" copies of all of your apps and preferences rather than the potentially corrupted ones that might reside in your iTunes backup. That's it! It will take a few hours depending on how much data and apps you have, but I am happy to report that my iPad 2 is now running IOS 8 and it's running as fast as it ever did when it was brand new!
To sum it up, this process 1) Wipes your device and the garbage causing your problems, 2) Loads a clean and bug-free version of IOS 8 to your device, and 3) restores your apps and data so that it looks just like it did before the wipe, with the exception that it works now!  :-)
Note also that by following this process you don't have to go through the painful and laborious process of reloading all of your apps, data and/or settings. iCloud takes care of all of that for you.

I have recently discovered that I cannot open my network preferences, security, or downloads folder. I do not know what else I am unable to open. The MacBook Pro is not yet a year old. I have recently downloaded the Amazon Cloud and was wondering if this could be causing the spastic behavior. My boyfriend seems to think that it is a corrupt file. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? Thank you.

  • When I quit Firefox 7 a blue screen appears

When I quit Firefox 7 a blue screen appears. I go to quit Firefox 7 and then the screen turns blue and I have to press the power button to reset my computer. I'm running OS X 10.6 with the most recent updates. This seem to have started to happen when I updated to Firefox 7. I'm still checking to see if it happens on other applications.

I've got the same problem on my 2011 MacBook Pro (2.3ghz Core i7, 4gb Stock Ram, Intel 320 SSD 120gb).
I noticed it was happening a lot on a previous installation of OS X 10.6.8 using the combo update. I kept getting blue screens pretty much on command when quitting firefox, though I first noticed it happen trying to install Microsoft Office 2011.
I reinstalled OS X 10.6.6, updated to 10.6.8 using 'Software Update' via internet and the last couple months have been fine.
TODAY, however, quitting Firefox after closing down a bunch of tabs caused the system to freeze up and give me a blue screen. I remember I was able to replicate this problem by quitting firefox after closing 5+ tabs. Can't seem to do it on command now, but I'm hoping this problem doesnt reoccur anymore.
I bought an apple product based on its claims for being reliable. I need to get work done without headaches.
