Blue Screen//Computer Crash when my ipod touch 2g 16gb connected to my comp

I get a blue screen with a message,
* STOP: 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0x00000000, 0xF79417C4, 0xF79414C0)
I plug in my ipod touch and I get the blue screen with my computer crashing following it, any help to fix this problem would be much appreciated because I cannot sync my ipod.

Hello, Welcome to discussions.
You may need to update iTunes, Update Printer drivers and if you have a logitech camera or other digital devices download and update the software for those. Articles below

I have created an iTunes account on my current computer for my daughters ipod touch and tried connecting my ipod nano and it won't sync and says that it is associated with another iTunes library so how do I merge the two libraries?

    You do not merge libraries.
iDevices sync to one and only one computer.
If you want a single library, you manually move the content from one library to another... all content will still be associated with the Apple ID it was acquired with.

itunes doesn't open when my ipod touch 4g is connected, consequently it won't charge or sync

I was surprised too, but I guess nobody gave a cr*p. I figured it out on my own. Basically, sync, then uncheck the box for the option to open iTunes when that iPod is hooked up, sync again, then check the box, and sync one last time. A dialog box pops up that asks if it's OK to install "iTunes Helper". Say "yes". Now it works.

  • Blue screen of death when La Cie external firewire drive connected

I tested a LaCie external firewire drive on my iMac and it worked fine. I packed it up well and posted it to a friend who gets the blue screen of death when the LaCie is connected to her iMac. She's not even trying to boot from it.
My iMac is 9.1  and hers is 8.1.  We are both running Snow Leopard.  Was there some problem once upon a time with chipsets or am I mis-remembering?
    TIA

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

  • Blue Screen Of Death When Syncing Ipod

Hey so if anyone can help me i will love you so much,
So I have a 20GB fourth generation ipod (old i know) but it works fine, and i have an new HP laptop that i got for christmas and like for a good 2 months everything was fine with itunes and then one time it told me i needed to restore my ipod to factory settings and i was like oh this is annoying but whatever ive done it before so i just did it, but the next time i tried syncing my ipod the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH came up and that scared me but i thought maybe it was just a one time thing...turns out it wasnt and now every time i try to sync my ipod the blue screen comes up and i have to restart my computer. my itunes otherwise works fine i listen to music on it and add music to itunes perfectly fine just the syncing doesnt work. I also thought maybe it could be my ipod because it is old so i went down to my desktop which has XP and and older version of itunes but it worked completly fine. SOOOOOOOOOOO i have no idea what to do. i dont know tons about computers but im not ******** and can most likely follow directions so if anyone could help me it would be much apreciated because i can not take listening to the god awful radio in the car much longer.

Have you tried System Restore to go back to before the problem started?
If that fixes the Blue Screen Of Death issue, then you can try and track down the changes from then to when the problem started.
    Good Luck.

  • ITunes crashes when syncing ipod touch

I'm currently having multiple problems with my daughter's iTunes/iPod Touch. Here is some general information, we have an HP running Windows XP with SP2 Media Center edition. The iPod touch is 6 month's old ($399), 16 GB and was bought with Jan soft upgrade(not sure what that means but I think it was version 2.0?).
Last night the touch was sync'ed. iTunes was on 8.01 (not exactly sure of version, think it was 8.01) All music and videos were erased from the iPod. Software on iPod kept rolling back and ended up stoping at 1.1.4. I tried to update the software on the iPod but it kept disconnecting while sync'ing. I had to stop sync'ing so I could download 1.1.5 and load the software on the iPod touch. I want to update to a newer version of iPod touch software but now since I'm on an old version iTunes wants another $10 to upgrade. So I don't know how to get on the version I think I started at 2.0?
This morning I updated iTunes to latest software 8.02. I was able to get music to load but iTunes would seem to randomly crash. I watched and noticed that any video file would crash iTunes. I went in and changed the sync options:
check - open iTunes when ipod is connected. all other options unchecked.
    on music tab:
check - sync music, all songs and play listed
unchecked - all other options (ie include music videos)
on movies, TV shows, and podcasts: unchecked all sync.
I now have all music sync'ed. I can't get any video to sync. Music video's purchased from iTunes store won't sync.
Any idea how to update software on the itouch? Any idea why the video's won't sync?

After spending 75 minutes on the phone with tech support, we found the problem was associated with the Windows XP user ID. We created a test user ID, logged on and populated iTunes with video and music. When we sync'ed the iTouch everything worked. I don't know how this problem occurred.

  • 1.4.1 and 1.3.1 blue screen system crash when running slide show

I have a new Toshiba Satelite X200-219 running Vista SP1. I have 30 Gb free space on C: and 4Gb RAM. Every time I run a slide show I get the blue screen of death after about 5 slides. I have swapped the original memory (2 GB) back in to see if it is corrupt memory but get the same result.
Is anyone else experiencing this or are there any known solutions?

temp6, temp7, temp8 are strange.... but because it's impossible reach these temps (+127 and +0) I think those sensors are not used or bad report data
if you think it's a overheating problem, you must log temps (sensord+rrdtool)
so you'll get the latest temps before the PC crashes

  • IPhoto opens even when the iPod Touch is not connected

I came across discussions on the iPod Touch and issues with iPhoto and am hoping that a solution can be found for my problem.
My 13 year old step-son visited over the Christmas/New Year and was plugging his iPod Touch into and out of our Mac laptop. In fact, we believe that he was doing the very same thing described in this reply regarding: "...the result of downloading a photo in Safari on the iPod (or taking a screen shot). The file is stored locally on the device, however when it is connected to your computer, iPhoto will open thinking that the iPod is a digital camera/memory card..."
We noticed that iPhoto and not iTunes opened whenever he plugged in the iPod Touch and told him not to download any pictures onto the Mac. We are not sure if iTunes ever opened. Well, he's gone now and every time we turn on the laptop now, iPhoto automatically opens up even though there are no devices connected to the laptop.
We are also experiencing video distortion of the computer screen when waking it from sleep. To get the computer to work again, we have to force shut down by holding down the power button. So, basically, we now cannot allow the computer to go to sleep! We believe that this has something to do with the iPod Touch having been used on our laptop.
During an entire day of trying to figure out what could be wrong with the computer (and we are not avid computer users!) we found that in the System Preferences - desktop and screen savers module, the entire iPhoto library is there along with the standard screen savers. We are not sure if this is supposed to be? We tried deleting the library of pictures in the screen savers module but were unsuccessful.
All was fine before and now we're having no end of troubles since the departure of our little one and his iPod Touch! Help!!!

    Ok, thanks so much

  • Itunes v8 syncprocesses take an eternity when my iPod Touch 2g is connected

Ever since my upgrade to itunes v8 (on Windows XP) it take minutes for each step of the sync'ing process where they use to take only seconds. I connect my ipod touch and it take 5 minutes for the icon to appear in the 'devices' section. I literally have to walk away from my computer and come back later.
Sync'ing the ipod from start to finish takes 20 times longer than it use to. I've also noticed that the sync'ing messages on my Touch are not in time with the sync'ing messages displayed in iTunes. For instance, when I press the Sync button in iTunes to sync my Touch...the 'sync in progress' message appears on the iPod Touch minutes before iTunes displays a similar message.
The bottom line is that every sync-related process iTunes 8 runs seems to take an eternity to complete whenever my ipod Touch 2g is attached. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes (and all Apple programs) a number of times. I've even tried restoring my Touch several times. No matter what I do, as soon as I plug in the iPod Touch every processes related to sync'ing takes extended amounts of time.
Can anyone help? Is this a known issue? Is there a fix or a work around? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Blue Screen of Death When Plugging in Ipod Touch 4g

    Hello,
Im reciving blue screen of death when I plug in my ipod touch 4g. I have updated itunes, Drivers, This happens every time and I suspect it happens when my computer says found new hardware reconizing the ipod as a camera because once I pluged my ipod in and it didn't pop up found camera hardware and it worked. So does anyone know how to fix this or disable my comp from reconizing the ipod as a camera? Thanks in advance
p.s im using XP service pack 3

have u tried pluging an other usb (eg mp3 or mem stick) it to ur compuer? is it doing it with these?
if its only doing this with ur ipod try the following
1 go to start menu and in the search box type in usb
    look for device manager
    2. open the disk drives and plug in ipod touch and removeable disk should show up
    3, try usb drives updates
because the ipod has a camera most older computers running xp think its a camera,
if u have and usb mem stick copy ur itunes folder on to it and copy it to a computer running vista or windows 7 and c it its doing it on one of them, if its doing it on one them there may be other hardware isues with ur ipod touch

  • Blue Screen of Death when connecting ipod

Ever since the 2.0 update, when I try and connect my ipod about 50% of the time i get the BSOD. What the heck is going on? Is it another 2.0 bug?

The following document is worth checking through:
What to do when Windows XP or Vista computer displays a blue screen error message when syncing the iPhone or iPod touch

Having the same problem here. As a first time mac user, Apple has certainly made a bad first impression.
For me, the issue seems to occur when transferring files between computers that are connected to the same access point (when transferring files from wired computers on the network there is no issue). My vista laptop and every laptop I have tried has worked perfectly fine with this access point so I am 100% convinced it is the mac. Basically when I copy the files, after about 100mb, I am unable to access anything on the local network or internet until I restart Airport. The weird thing is that even though I am unable to access anything, the airport utility says it is connected. I might also note that the wireless signal strength is full.
If I can't get this figured out in a few days, this computer is going back to the store where it came from and I will officially label myself anti-mac. This type of issue is just unacceptable for something so main stream.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then go to Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup and either turn off iCloud backup or backup to iCloud

  • My 2nd generation iPod touch will not connect with the newest version of iTunes (December 2012 update). My computer(windows7) says the device is connected when i plug it in, but it will not show up in iTunes. Can anyone help?

As said in the question, my ipod touch will not connect to the newest version of itunes. When I plug it in, my compter recognizes that a device has been connected, yet it will not show up in itunes. I didn't have this problem until I just updated to the new itunes. Someone help please!

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    or
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
It still could be cable or contacts in the iPod since different contacts/conductor are used for charging and data
