Blue screen - Data Inpage Kernel Error on Satellite Pro L

I have had my laptop 6 months now.
Now a blue screen comes and says - Data Inpage Kernel Error.
I reset back to factory settings but it is still happening. Is the hard drive knackered?
If so is it covered by the warranty?
If not which hard drive do i need and where can i get it from.
Many Thanks for your help.

Hi mono33,
> I reset back to factory settings but it is still happening.
This would mean its no software malfunction and its serious hardware issue. If your notebook is under warranty, the repair is covered by warranty and ASP will repair the unit for free.
So at first I would check if the notebook is under warranty. If yes give it to an ASP and the gus can repair the notebook. Otherwise you can also ask an ASP for help but its not for free.
Theoretically it could be HDD related but it could be another hardware part as well.

  • HP Mini 210-4000 Blue Screen of Death PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error

I've been up and down the Forums here with no specific luck, unfortunately, so I'm going to ask even if this has been queried and solved in another part of the site which I may have missed.
I am trying to sort out a friend's HP Mini Notebook, model HP Mini 210-4125sa. The machine started up well enough until a week ago, when it suddenly decided to blue screen.
The specific error message text displayed within the BSOD reads as follows:
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
    *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x87E40000, 0x00000000, 0x92442B13, 0x00000000)
I can not boot past the Windows 7 loading screen - the load bar makes it two fifths up and that's it.
I had thought to try and recover the operating system, if at all possible, from what is apparently a recovery partition that is created on the HD ( i haven't worked with these machines before unfortunately), although i cannot figure how to get at this partition before the error hits.
Also, having attempted to download a piece of software from the HP USB Recovery Flash Disk Utility, i realise that it seems necessary to actually use this from the notebook itself, which is not possible.
Having started running the various onboard tests from the BIOS menu, the Hard Disk Test has just apparently failed (specifically the Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless).HP have not unfortunately been an awful lot of help as they wil only offer a one-off technician support call for forty quid, or to take the notebook away for repair, the cost of which is practically as much as the original cost of the hardware. I would of course prefer to try and sort this out myself but have hit a bit of a wall at the moment. Any suggestions would be fantastic, at this point.
    This question was solved.

That hardware test for the hard disk is a dead giveaway of a failed item. A failed hard disk  is a show stopper.
Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless) It is important information.
A corrupted NTFS volume (the hard disk) can also generate the " PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error"  stop message.

  • Blue Screen of Death - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL (SynTP.sys) Satellite P55-A5200

I am running Windows 8.1 Pro.
Frequently over the last several days, when I wake my computer from sleep, I get the blue screen of death with error DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL (SynTP.sys) which forces a restart.
Because of the SynTP.sys error, I have updated the track pad driver several times, using the latest driver from Toshiba (Syanptics 17.0.10.1 2013-09-24) and have alternatively used the recommended drive from Windows 8.1 (Synaptics 17.0.8.21 dated 2013/08/23). Neither driver helped.
I have reinstalled Windows 8.1 Pro amongst other attempted soluntions.
I now have removed all Synaptics drivers and am running the Generic Windows PS/2 driver. Interestingly, since this installtion, I have not had the blue screen.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This error appears to be caused by the Synaptics SMB Touchpad Driver 17.0.10.1 and/or 17.0.8.
I rolled back the driver to version 16.4.20 and have not had a problem since.

  • Blue screen crashes with specifc error starting to show up on restart

I keep getting blue screen crashes and as I start up the system I get this error constantly.
c:\users\computeruser\appdata\roaming\newnext.me\nengine.dll error can you please send me a fix for this issue.

In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
    If
you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate
    to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
    2. Copy any and all
DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
    3. Upload
the zip containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Prefered sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers.
    4 (optional): The type
of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps
in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains much more
information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps
    are much larger in
size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
    If
you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
    Upload
    photos and files to Onedrive.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc, by default
will delete .DMP files upon use.
    If
your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type %systemroot%
which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key + Pause
key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.
    3. Windows key + Pause
key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check that
    the WERS is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is
not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click
    Apply.

  • Blue screen with the following error SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION (ACPL.sys)

    Hi,
I had a blue screen with SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION (ACPL.sys) error message yesterday.
It happened right after the graphic card update was completed. I have an HP Spectre XT laptop with Windows 8 and Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.
After restart, I noticed that the available free space on my hard disk dropped by 4 GB!
    Can you please assist?
    Thank you.

We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
WE NEED AT LEAST TWO DMP FILES TO SPOT TRENDS AND CONFIRM THE DIAGNOSIS.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.
If you are overclocking stop.  (chances are if you dont know if you are, you are not)a
To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.  We need at least 2 DMP FILES to diagnose and confirm
    The procedure:
    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button. (if available on  your site, MS doesnt have this)
*Please upload them to a file sharing service like Skydrive or"Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
Link for how to  upload below.
    http://www.wikihow.com/Use-SkyDrive
    To ensure minidumps are enabled:
    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.
Please also run MSinfo32 and upload the output as well.
To run MSinfo32 please go to start>run>MSinfo32
Go to "file" "save" and upload the saved file with the DMPS
System specs are extremely useful so please include whatever you know.

  • HP PSC 2355 Blue screen of Death and Error message/ blinking lights.

Hello, I have a HP PSC2355 that we recently moved, after we moved it started randomly locking up with the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD), it would give an error:0X880529ec on the BSOD, further down the screen were the characters 1:H+x?+  The (ON) light was Blinking Green, the (!) light was blinking orange.  This will happen regardless if the PC was on or not, it will happen when trying to print, sometimes only getting 1" of print at the top of the page.  Currently running Windows XP, SP3 connected via USB.  I highly doubt it is a PC issue as it will happen when trying to use it as a standalone copier.  Sounds internal to me, I do have electronics experience ( I repair televisions )  If someone has any ideas, let me know.....
I might also add, you dont have to be printing for the error to crop up, you can just plug it in and wait, later you will see the BSOD and the blinking lights.
Message Edited by lesterl on 07-04-2009 06:49 AM

Well, decided to try to print from another computer, d/l the smaller driver only package (26meg), did a fresh install after finally getting the printer to stay on for a few minutes, it took forever on the first part of 8 on the installer (cable already plugged in), and it has been on for many hours now, printed many things, yet to have an error.  Dont know if the driver installation did anything with the firmware on the unit or not.
    Differences:
    Celeron Laptop (virus/trojan free) now
Was on a P4 desktop that had not been so lucky with the trojan/viruses.
Upstairs on my dining room table now
Was in basement in wife's scrapbooking room.
    Dunno, time will tell.......

  • B570 - Windows 8 - Blue screen crash & energy management error

I upgraded to windows 8 on the day it came out in the uk with no problems, some of my apps had to be reinstalled but nothing major.
the bluetooth app had to be uninstalled, never use it so not a major issue. the energy managment error just pops up on each start and i just click run without help. Seems to work fine, but would prefer for it not to have to ask me this.
Anyway everything looked to be okay and then i got the blue screen crash. Said something about a kernal crash. This has happened about every 2 days now since the install and is very annoying, just happens very randomly even when the laptop is really fast.
I spoke to lenovo's support team and they said new drivers will be installed automatically and it should resolve. It hasnt.
Was just wondering if there is any fix for this? any new drivers out that have to be installed, or bios settings anything?
    Please help. Thanks

  • Error restoring satellite pro A200-ez2205X

I tries to reload software by using the disks I made off of computer. I recieved an error stating my machine wasn't a satellite pro. I recently found directions how to reload software from my hard drive. I then recieved a screen saying Wrong Machine! Now I can not use my computer. How do I fix this or who do I need to call?

Have you had your machine serviced recently? What you are experiencing is the data in the DMI strings do NOT match that in the repair disks/partition. Generally speaking, I've seen this when a system board has been replaced and the repair center did not reflash the system's DMI. It's not supposed to affect the system, but have you flashed a BIOS yourself recently? A repair center is likely the only way to get the DMI reflashed.

  • IDE #1 Error on Satellite Pro A10

Hi, My Satellite Pro A10 laptop displays IDE #1 Error everytime I attempt to put it on. That message is all I get, although it is displayed for a short time- the laptop always comes back to that message, it attempts to load the screen just go's blanbk and then that message comes up everytime! I was wondering if anyone could explain what this means and how do i fix it?
    thank you
    david

    Hi
This is very strange that this error message appears and you have not changed the drive.
Did you try to 'flash' the drive or to install any firmware or update the BIOS?
I ask it because I can't believe that this error message appears without any reasons.
Like Jack and Silas say, this error appears because of no compatibility of the drive.
The unit was delivered with compatible drive and should works. I assume the BIOS cannot recognize the drive at this time because it's dead.
In my opinion you have to replace the drive. (try to check it it's possibel to install/to boot Toshiba recovery CD)
Ps: Just for info: I have read in the net that sometimes it's possible to flash the drive with any illegal software to change the master/slave settings but this is not advisable. But I have never tried it.
I have also read in the forum that if this error message appears every time and it's not possible to use the drive and the BIOS cannot recognize this device so the connection of pin 45 and 47 could solve this issue sometimes.

  • Blue Boxes and Bluescreens when powering up Satellite Pro P100-438

    Hello,
I own a Satellite Pro P-100-438 (PSPAHE-001001GR). Yesterday I tried to run a game and soon after that it froze, showed strange blue-ish rectangles, and then a bluescreen followed by a reset.
Then the screen was full of blue shaded boxes in kind of a grid pattern as a layer over everything shown. Even the splash screen "Toshiba - in touch with tomorrow" had that box-grid layer.
As soon as Vistas login screen should show up, there was another bluescreen: 0x00000050 Page Fault In Non-Paged Area.
Now I can only boot the computer in safe mode.
I tried to restore the last working windows configuration but that didn't help. I tried to remove the display drivers as well and fiddled with the startup setting under msconfig and at one point I was actually able to get Vista running like normal without the blue boxes but after a while I got another bluescreen and since then they stayed.
Occasionally there is another screenshot as well: 0x00000116. nvlddmkm.sys - Address 8C8149A0 base at 8C808000, DateStamp 4a9cdd24
And it says something about "Attempt to reset display driver and recover from timeout failed." as well.
    See these screenshots:
    0x00000050 http://tinyurl.com/yhyopx5
    0x00000116 http://tinyurl.com/yhsj4co
    Any hints or suggestions?

From what I read on the internet it really seems to be a graphics adapter problem. Broken GPU or graphics memory chips. Looks like the are small companies specialized in repairing these problems by resoldering or replacing bad chips on the adapter. Prices range from 39 Euro to 180 Euro.
    Concerning another card:
According to this page http://www.nvidia.com/page/go_7800gtx.html the "GeForce Go 7950 GTX" and "GeForce Go 7900 GTX" are from the same model series like my "GeForce Go 7900 GS" but with higher performance.
This page http://alatestreview-cnet.com.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-p100-st9772/1707-3121_7-32378880.html?subj=Toshiba+Satellite+P100-ST9772&tag=feed&part=alatestreview-cnet reviews a Satellite p100 sporting a GeForce Go 7900 GTX.
Sure that a faster card than my Go 7900 GS, like the two I mentioned above won't work?
