Blue screen: HP Pavilion dv6 after Windows update on Aug 1.
Last year or so, I had this blue screen issue with my dv6 laptop and was solved by uninstalling KB2670838.And things have been very peaceful since then, but the blue screen re-occured recently after windows update last week. The updates were suggested by HP Support agent installed in and was for getting ready for Windows 10 installation. But my pc gets blue in every 3 min now, so I un-installed all updated job occured last week as temporal solution. Though I wish to be ready for Windows 10 installation, I need to have operable PC for my work.(This is Win7 sp1, home eddition) It would be great if anyone could assist me on this. Thank you, Piko.
I have this problem. It happens without any warning.
I don't know the reason. Please help me.

Blue screen on iPhone 5S after an update
Hi,
I've done the iOS 8.0.2 update and I was expecting my iPhone 5S to switch on back after that, but it unfortunately didn't. It got stuck on the white screen with the apple and then on the blue screen. After several attempts, I turned it into DFU mode and it's been in recovery mode for 2 and a half hours now with still 3 hours to wait. Is there any chance my iPhone won't switch on again..? Restoration is currently in process, i don't understand why my iPhone would turn into blue screen just after a simple update..Hello. Did you ever solve this problem? I'm having the same issue with my daughter's phone. Thanks!!

Windows 8.1 Blue Screen of Death "Critical process died" after Windows update
Hey there, my Envy laptop has the "Critical Process Died" blue screen of death error after doing 3 things today:
1. A BIOS update through HP Support Assistant.
2. An x64 windows process update (optional) through the Control Panel.
3. An NVIDIA update.
What can I do to fix this error? I'm okay with a complete system wipe. Please help.
*Windows 8.1 64bitThe only option that worked for me was to "reset" my PC, as in a complete wipe. it's working properly again, when I read reviews of windows 8.1 I didn't really believe the people who said stay away from it, but since I've had more problems than I'd wish to, I'm too afraid to go back to it. Thanks anyways guys.

Dell Latitude E6520 fails to boot after Windows Updates
Hello,
I have a Dell Latitude E6520 that is not starting up after Windows updates. It installs updates and requests a reboot, after which it blue screens at the splash logo and reboots again. This goes on indefinitely. The only way to repair it is to boot from
a recovery disk and run:
dism /image:D:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This is after running dism /image:D:\ /get-packages and noticing that several updates are still in an "Install_Pending" state. These are the kb's that are pending:
kb2982378
kb2978742
kb2977629
kb2976897
kb2973112
kb2972211
There were other updates, but those showed as installed. I would post the WindowsUpdate.Log, but I do not see a button to attach a file and the log is very long. Here is what I think is relevant towards the end of the log:

After partitioning my drive with Fdisk I tried to install Win Xp. My plan was to format the drive with XP. XP starts up and runs through the initial system check then when it prepares to install I get the blue screen that says [my words] "Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your system. If drivers are mentioned try disabling them in the BIOS or get the latest bios update from the equipment manufacturer..." The error is:
Stop 0x0000007E on the next line
pci.sys - address f7480BFbase at f7487000 Datestamp 3b7d855c
Just never had these problems setting up a system and soon I will be able to say it took me 2 years to get this running. Hope someone can help. ThanksUse XP Installation disk with SP2 or SP3 included to fix the BSOD.
Simple your XP installation disk is outdated and cause troubles with latest hardware. -
MBP stucks on blue screen on login, even after complete reinstall
Hi everyone!
This is REALLY driving me nuts. Three days ago, I found one of my MBP apparently on sleep but with fans running full speed and unable to wake up. As usual, when this happens I just force it to turn off but this time after the Apple logo (OS loading) I got stuck on a blue screen before the login window.
*What I already have DONE trying to solve this (please read)*
- PVRAM reset
- SMC reset
- Full check with Disk Utilities (no problems)
- Started on verbose and single-user mode and done almost everything there (fsck, checking console.log, etc…)
- FULL OSX REINSTALL, erasing every partition (even "zeroing" the disk) and installing from external drive (installing from DVD didn't seem to work, but the optical drive is fine). Still same problem.
*Other symptoms*
- After waiting like 5-10 minutes on the blue screen, it shows the login window just fine and I can login. From there everything seems to work OK. I can use my computer "fine"
- OSX loading (gray screen with the Apple logo) takes forever
- Mac doesn't wake up from sleep
- It runs quite hot
- I can boot in safe mode, but the auto-check at the start of that mode doesn't solve the problem
- When it is stuck on the blue screen, no cursor is shown. If sleep mode kicks in, the computer freezes on the login screen, can't do anything.
At the beginning I said that one of my MBP was affected. Well, one day after the EXACT SAME happen on my OTHER MBP, EXACT same symptoms. (MBP 4,1 and 3,1 both on 10.6.6)
I think this could be a corrupt firmware (remember this happens even with the complete reinstall) or a really weird hw failure or something beyond the OS.
As you can read, I can use my computer (both). I'm writing this on it in fact. But I can't fully fix it and I have spend almost entire days on backups, possible fixes, forum browsing… really this makes my days a living **** (not kidding!)
Please help me! Thanks in advance (And sorry for my english and the long post!)nachX00 wrote:

Well, neither of those should be the issue.
Can't check the FW ports, as I don't have a FW cable (they are somewhat hard to find on my city)
The reason I ask is because there have been a few cases here where the initial boot process was searching and searching for a FW port, but the port was dead, and it caused long delays similar to yours.
No, no new HD or RAM, but is not stock HW (upgraded RAM and HD several months ago, never a single problem on either computer).
RAM may be suspect. Have you updated software recently? Some RAM can be compatible with an earlier OS, but then out of spec after an update. If you have the original RAM, I would put it back in and see if that's the issue. If issue persists, try removing one of the modules and booting; if that doesn't work, swap the module into the other slot. Repeat with other RAM module. This will troubleshoot the RAM and both slots.
There also seem to be a growing number of issues with non-Apple-branded HDs, so I'm not sure that can be ruled out. If you have original HD, and the time to put it in, and you want to get to the bottom of this, you may want to give that a try. -
Blue Screen and data lost after rescue n recovery during F11 operation

Thanx for replying . Now the problem of immedietly solved when i booted my laptop with F8 . But the new problem arises. When I logged in, the system starts fine but when I run rescue n recovery option from thinkvantage button , the laptop restarts and then all errors shown. Like "c_1252.nls" file is missing or corrupted. This is the first messege I got while booting. Then I booted with F11 for rescue n recovery. I recovered file c_1252.nls from backup folder on harddrive. But when i restarted again the new c_0437.nls shown missing and this i got so many times after each n every rescue n recovery options. Then I again rescued all the files in system32 folder and restarted my laptop. Which restarts good uptill it asked for domain password . But when i clicked to enter the password the error messege shown " Diskeeper not present" and subsequently "SQL server is disturbed" like that . But the login successful and when the desktop arises the windows intstaller window shows but no further processing even i waited for 15 min. And above all I lost all my data saved in one n only drive that the LENEVO provided with OS. NO partiton. PL. suggest any solution this . Is it possible to recover my data since I didnt make any backup ? -
Blue screen of death? I just updated my MacBook Air with the latest OX (25 Jun 11). When I restart - I get the Apple logo and then a blue screen and nothing else. Help!!!
Insert the install disk and press c on startup. Select your langauge then, if there's a menubar click utilities then click Disk Utility. If you didn't see the menubar continue with the installer until you see it.
Once in disk utitly select the drive and repair permissions.
After the repair is done, quit the utiltiy.
You can try to reboot and see if it works if you reboot, but if it doesn't repeat the same as before again.
Now you can continue with the installer and install the os.

Hi,
I am new to SP 2010. I have installed Share point 2010 server (trial version) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop by following the below link.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee554869%28office.14%29.aspx
Everything went fine and was able to see the new sharepoint site after completing configuration wizard. SP2010 Central Admin also worked fine.
However, after windows update, sharepoint site is not working. I was able to see the site working for more than a day before windows update. SP2010 Central Admin is still working. Executed "PSCONFIG" after
update but still no good.
I saw a warning "The Security Token Service is not available" in Central Admin and did some research to fix the issue but nothing worked.

Windows Update Error 800B0109 after Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 Installed
Hi, I have this error message when running windows update, it happened after Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 installed.
Any idea how to resolve this?
Thank you.Hi,
Please make sure that your antivirus application does not scan the files in the
%windir% \SoftwareDistribution directory on any computer on which Windows Update Agent is installed.
You can also temporarily turn off the antivirus application and check the result.
Or run the following commands, and press Enter after each command:
Net stop wuauserv
cd %systemroot%
Ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Net start wuauserv
Try to install updates again.

I tried the commands as well, still prompting the same error.

Profiles being reset after windows updates?
Hi All
I'm having issues with Outlook 2013 SP1 resetting our users profiles after Windows Updates have been applied. Their profiles are being reset whilst their previous profiles are being renamed to "BACKUP of <profile name>".
Office 2013 x86 has been deployed via VL Media onto Win7 x64 machines and we are distributing the ImportPRF registry key via GPO (set to Update) in order to customise the profiles on first run. (basic email account and attaching a default PST file)
It appears that after windows updates are applied outlook is triggering the first run process again and therefore resetting the users profiles back to the standard set in our PRF.
We used this method to configure Outlook 2010 and for the years of deploying Office 2010 we never had any issues. Can anyone suggest what might be going on here or what might have changed in Office 2013?
ThanksHi,
I'm marking the reply as answer as there has been no update for a couple of days.

Firefox won't start after windows update
After windows Updated my computer Firefox won't start. I tried a clean reinstall two times, won't work. When I tried to start the firefox the first time after booting my computer it comes with the following message.
XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location: chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/update.xul
Line Number 14, Column 1:
<wizard id="updateWizard"
^
Any Help would be greatly appreciated. I like firefox and I'm using it the last 7 Years.
Thanks
DKI cheated a little bit and put the issue url in a working version of firefox:
chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/update.xul
What I got was a page that looked like this below and console:

I do not see much about coloum 14, but I am guessing this file is stored somewhere and its corrupt. Update.xul suggests that it is the update file. Do you still have this in your downloads folder? There are two places for update and for a clean reinstall:
[http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/] in a private window will give you a new install or you can choose from here: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/]
This is what the file should look like; [http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/log/7a2edc5171e6/toolkit/mozapps/extensions/content/update.xul] If you can copy and paste that file from a working browser we can see the issue, but it will just look the same as the error.
if you can replace the contents of the file locally with what it should look like it will fix the error, but who knows if there are other errors. May be best to delete the updater and save all the profile folder contents. -
several times after system crashes and sometimes after windows updates my pinned tabs have disappeared. How can I back up the pinned tabs and bookmarks??
Firefox stores the bookmarks and the browsing history in the places.sqlite database file..
There are 10 rotating daily JSON backups (bookmarks-####-##-##.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder, one for each day that Firefox is started.
Pinned (App) tabs and tab groups are stored in the sessionstore.js file.

tried .. every option on F8
Try this. Download a repair disc from here.
Windows Vista Recovery Environment ISO X64 version (64 bit)
If you can reach the Recovery Environment by booting that, try the Startup Repair and let us know what happens. Sometimes you need to run it more than once.
Startup Repair: frequently asked questions
Also try a System Restore.
What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?
